Tilly McBride, a half were-lioness, runs Bless Your Tart, a bakery in the shifter town of Wilder. She’s the oldest of three “halfers,” half-breed shifter women (a lion, tiger and bear...oh my. Oh c’mon, you know you said it in your head). Anyway, she rings up the local werewolf pack house regarding an order and speaks to the Alpha, Mitchell Blake. Aaaaaaannnd that’s all she wrote folks. Ok, not really, there’s a full story here, but basically insta-love, shenanigans and romance happens.
The Good, The Bad and Everything In Between
Funny and fast paced : I know humor’s subjective, but it made me laugh out loud several times. On occasion the humor went into cringeworthy territory but there was a good balance between the crass and simply witty. The story is fast paced with good action to balance out the funny, and thanks to a bout of insomnia, I finished this book in one day.
Ms. Kyle is quickly becoming a fave : This is a solid start to a new series, and I’m eager to re-visit Wilder due to the characters Ms. Kyle has created. She’s always written my particular catnip (shifter romances with BBW heroines), but I feel her writing style has really evolved with each book I’ve read. She has a knack for creating chemistry-filled banter and believable relationships between all her characters, not just her romantic leads, which is critical when creating a ‘verse like this. Some of her stories haven’t worked quite as well for me (too many jokes not enough story), and some were simply too short, but I have to admit I’ve enjoyed her full length novel efforts, such as her Grayslake series and now this series.
Mitchell has joined my stable : His love for, and his protectiveness of, Tilly and her sisters made me swoon and earned his spot in my stable of book-boyfriends. He had some great dialogue and when he shared his feelings with Tilly, he made no bones about how much he felt for her:
His backstory was one I wasn’t expecting, so tragic and violent. It made me empathize with what he must have gone through, taking on the alpha role at such a young age. Yes, Mitchell rides the line of alpha-hole, and even he admits he’s brash and sometimes a bit too hot-headed. On occasion he rode the line of uncomfortable misogynistic behavior, even if worked in the context of pack hierarchy. But I liked that he wasn’t perfect, and his brand of Grrrr made my girly bits happy.
Tilly’s a resilient heroine : A slight twist on the standard shifter, I liked that Tilly’s half-human/half-lioness made her stronger, yet more vulnerable than full-blooded shifters. Tilly’s struggle to keep her family together in the face of her completely useless mother certainly made me appreciate her hesitance in trusting her mating with Mitchell. I loved that when the time came (and thankfully not at the end of the book), she embraced her feelings, admitted when she was wrong, and opened her heart to Mitchell.
The sexy times : Very good chemistry between Tilly and Mitchell, even when they went overboard with expressing how much they wanted each other. Frankly, there’s more anticipation than actual sex scenes, and it didn’t bug me. There was plenty of buildup to satisfy me while waiting for the main event and the fast-paced action bits kept me turning the page
Secondary characters are well done : A ‘verse like this needs strong secondary characters to keep me coming back for more and Ms. Kyle delivers. I loved Tilly’s relationship with her sisters, and her friend Emma. I would have liked a little more info on Mitchell’s wolves (Kade and Darcy the most fleshed out of the pack members and they were a bit meh), but I’m hopeful to see more of them in later books.
Subplot involving Phee didn’t flow well : Tilly’s sister Phoebe, or Phee to her family, was about the only part that I felt didn’t flow as well as the rest of the book. I understand the reason behind incorporating it into this book, but I still felt a bit of whiplash, like “WTH just happened?” Too much of it was resolved off-page and it was the bumpiest part of the narrative. Also, I am concerned that the Gabe situation is too similar to Mitchell and could lead to it feeling way too formulaic. I’m hoping that doesn’t turn out to be the case, because Phee has great potential as a heroine and I want her story to be as strong as she is.
Ending felt a little anti-climactic : The final claiming and confrontation with one of the antagonists felt underwhelming, and the claiming itself felt like a compromise. The voyeuristic aspect didn’t bother me, but it felt a little flat. Perhaps because I wasn’t as fond of Kade and Darcy, who felt like a weaker pairing. I wish Kade hadn’t been mated because I thought he had potential as a lead in a later book and Darcy...yeah I just didn’t like her.
The Bottom Line
I really enjoyed it and I devoured it like a tasty Dudeless Dong cookie. A great start to a new series for Ms. Kyle, I would definitely recommend this for fans of shifter romance and BBW heroines.

Once Upon A Time, there was a cruel, heartless woman who had three sweet, beautiful little girls, all by different fathers. Tilly, a were lion, Liv, a were tiger, and Phee, a were bear. The evil woman left the two baby girls in Tilly’s care when Tilly was still very young, going off for days to drink and party, leaving the girls always hungry, often cold, and very much alone. With three growing, hungry were tummies to fill, brave Tilly quit school to work 18 and 20 hour days at two jobs, one in a stop-and-rob and one as a waitress. The days and nights were long and hard, leaving Tilly exhausted, constantly worried, and all three often hungry and destitute when the wicked woman snuck back around to their rusted out, leaky hovel in a tacky trailer park and stole all of the little family’s meager food and money. Then, when Tilly turned eighteen, the monster came back around again, signing the care of the two youngest over to Tilly, giving her all the responsibility for her baby sisters care. As if she didn’t have that already. . . at least now, it was legal, and family services couldn’t come around and separate the three girls. Who else would want the responsibility of raising two little half-were girls but their loving older sister who would do anything to keep her little family together? Then, something horrific happened – but out of horror came a bit of money, and the girls moved to the tiny were town of Wilder, where they should have been safe. But Still, the wicked, wicked woman snuck back around, stealing the food from her daughter’s mouths and the rent money from Tilly’s pockets. Then, something happens at the bakery Tilly worked so hard to build all on her own, to feed her little family and keep them safe . . .

I want to hug you and squeeze you and bake you chocolate cakes and cookies and tell you every day how much I appreciate this book. You brave woman. You ripped the “mommies are all sugar and spice and everything nice” blinders off and told it like it is – and, well, see the whole hug you and squeeze you thing above. Tilly, Liv and Phee are wonderful characters, having to learn early on the only way to thrive is by loving and supporting one another. Each of the girls have their own issues with the creatures who share their skins, each suffers in their own way from the abuse and abandonment of the woman who donated half their DNA and makes their lives so filled with the silence of the other shoe waiting to drop. And each is a strong and well-crafted character, damaged yes, but unbroken. You are, indeed, awesomesauce!!
This is, of course, a paranormal romance in Ms. Kyle’s signature style. She writes PR stories that have actual stories to them – stories of pain and fear, jealousy and bigotry, violence - and tons of compassion. And some really squishy sex scenes. Oh, and lots of F-bombs, so if you are one of those who gets their panties in a twist over these things? Well, skip this book and forgo the sanctimonious, preachy one-star reviews. This book isn’t for you. It is for those of us who like all the things Ms. Kyle is famous for and does so very well. I, for one, am giving it ten-stars (OK, OK, sites only allow five stars, but it is the thought that counts, right?) Ms. Kyle’s brave rendition of what more families than anyone likes to admit are really like gains her my respect and thanks. Of course, the hottie-hottness was a bonus as well (grin.)
I received this book directly from Ms. Kyle in exchange for a realistic review. Realistically? I will go back and read it again and again. It has a permanent place in my “read on a rainy day” shelf!

bwahahahahaha! !!! silly even for a shifter romance. I have had bad luck in finding a good shifter novel lately hope some author takes pity and write a character like dragos or curran.

I absolutely loved this story until about 70% in and then all of a sudden it became bogged down with confusing drama.

I totally didn't get the subplot with the youngest sister. First off I was skeeved by all the sex talk involving a 17 year old. I don't care if wolves are "highly sexed." I prefer not think about or read about underage sex*** But on the other hand, thanks for giving me an idea to use "pearl necklace" in a round of dirty hangman during #RAGT15.
I don't get how the story points out numerous times how strong and violent the youngest daughter is but yet she can't manage to shift at the end to defend herself against her father. And exactly why did her father try to kill her? Just because she smarted off? wouldn't that ruin the whole using her for money and connections? But yet the main female character manages to almost rip this huge bear's head off but can't defend herself against human mob guys during a different part of the story.
So yeah all the drama in the last part of the story irritated me and basically ruined the story for me. I still love Celia and will read all her books but this one just wasn't for me.

FINALLY......... a shifter romance that wasn’t consumed with insta-love. The hero and heroine actually developed a relationship and got to know one another. Even the secondary characters had strong and relatable personalities. The plot was fast paced and action packed and I LOVED it. The only question I have now is, WHERE IS BOOK 2 IN THIS SERIES? This book was published a long time ago and I still see no other books in the series?
If you are in the mood for a great shifter romance with a solid plot and characters this one won't let you down.

I received an arc copy.Loved this book. Cannot wait for the next one in this series. Tilly and Mitchell's story is so good. Held me entertained till the end. He is such an Alpha Wolf who knows what he wants. She is sweet but when it comes to her sisters , she will go all teeth and claws to protect them with her lioness. Highly recommend this book. Looking forward to the next one in tis series.

Three girls abandoned by a heartless mother who really ought to know better but these young women are strong and loving and somehow have managed to survive. Now add in the fact that each one is half shifter, half human and each has a completely different father and you get the idea that this is a story like no other out there. A lion, a tiger and a bear , oh yes these girls make this a very interesting story indeed.
Tilly is the eldest sister and runs Bless Your Tart bakery and as she is half were lion never expected her inner pussycat to start purring when the local wolf alpha catches her scent .Mitchell is not afraid of anything or anyone but the idea that he might not be able to claim Tilly is not one he can contemplate. So what if she's feline? Who cares that she comes with a ready made family? Mitchell knows what he wants and it's Tilly! Now he just has to convince her!
Now who doesn't love a lioness who will use her teeth and claws to protect her cubs? Add in what is a true alpha male and the tension just rackets up there. This author doesn't stop there though as it's a very funny story with lots of naughty dialogue and amusing situations. I really liked the oh so capable heroine and the uber hot Mitchell is certainly determined to get to second base and beyond! If honest I felt the first half of the book was quite a light read ( which doesn't always appeal to me ) filled with sexy shenanigans and then as I continued reading it took on much greater depth. Tilly has gone through so much to protect her sisters and unfortunately her journey isn't quite over yet but she's not alone in having a past that still continues to hurt. Yes we learn more about Mitchell's rise to become alpha and it really helped to flesh out both characters. Add in a supporting cast that really captured my imagination, seriously hilarious banter oh and the most unusual cookies ever to get baked and I can well see why so many readers clamour for this authors work.

Half-cat shifter Tilly McBride knows all about prejudice, staying resilient and above all things keeping her sanity. She has had to rely on it frequently with her sisters who she had to raise after her neglectful mother walked out. Tilly moved them to Wilder, Georgia hoping to give both sense of normalcy. They can let their furry sides out without too many problems, although they are related both have different shifter sides and the only true outcast is Tilly.
Alpha were Mitchell Blake can't believe his luck when he happens upon the curvy beauty Tilly after a hangup call. Mitchell wants her underneath him, but cats and dogs don't mix. Mitchell quickly realizes she is his mate so despite the prejudices of his pack not mating with anyone besides purebred wolves he is about change things up. Tilly though is not so sure she wants to mate Mitchell, she has enough baggage to sink the titanic. How could a man, especially an Alpha want to acquire more responsibility. She doesn't know Mitchell very well though because he would do anything for his mate.
An absolute joy to read. Had humor through out and I loved Tilly's little sister Phee. Her introduction to the story is one of the best I have read in awhile. Nothing like putting two opposites together with a side of teenage hormonal shifter with it. Cannot wait for the next book, looks like a goodie.

This is a warning to my fellow readers that there is a healthy bit of exhibitionism in this book. (A warning really should be included in the description...) So if that isn't your kink (and it sure as hell isn't mine), then skip the claiming/mating sex scene. Disappointing, I know, but I was blindsided by that so hard I'm still recovering. H is now really not one of my favorites. Ms. Kyle is usually a really awesome paranormal writer. And this book was climbing towards the top of my list when that scene stopped me dead and left me cold. Really sad. I can deal with a lot of things, but sharing isn't one of them. And if your mate encourages others to watch something that private, then it's sharing, I don't care what species you are. I was looking forward to reading the h's sisters' books but now I'm not so sure.

Roarrrrrrrrr!
What can I say, but this definitely a Celia Kyle hit, I absolutely loved this story, so much that I had to force myself to put it down at 4:00 in the morning and even dreamt about it! This going to be one heck of a series and I’m going to enjoy reading every single book.
I am not going to say anything about the story cause I don't want to give anything in the book away, I'll only tell you that you have to read this book. It will have you laughing, crying, happy, sad, angry, joyful and most assuredly panting! I would give anything to be Tilly for 24 hours...LOL
So much action, love, hate and sizzling passion without the consummation....It is AWESOME!!!! When have I ever been speechless? It is all is so intense!

What can I say, but this definitely a Celia Kyle hit, I absolutely loved this story, so much that I had to force myself to put it down at 4:00 in the morning and even dreamt about it! This going to be one heck of a series and I’m going to enjoy reading every single book.
I am not going to say anything about the story cause I don't want to give anything in the book away, I'll only tell you that you have to read this book. It will have you laughing, crying, happy, sad, angry, joyful and most assuredly panting! I would give anything to be Tilly for 24 hours...LOL
So much action, love, hate and sizzling passion without the consummation....It is AWESOME!!!! When have I ever been speechless? It is all is so intense!

A great new series from Celia. A longer book than normal which just made it even better. The dynamics between Tilly and her sisters and best friend were brilliant. I loved how Mitchell claimed Tilly's sisters as well as her. Serious issues were dealt with making the reading compelling but with a bucket load of humour. Mitchell and Tilly's relationship was so beautiful and solid, she could let herself become reliant on him and he was more than happy to comply. Nasty mother, nasty bears but hardships overcome with them all working together. Can't wait for the next sisters book. A few ways the series will lead so who's next? Another great read from Celia!

I am sure that devoted Celia Kyle fans will love this book, however for me it was a case of wrong mathematics – 30% story/70%sex (in any form, be it actual graphic sex, dirty talk, innuendos, his and hers permanent insta-lust, heroine going on and on about his hotness and her wet panties or our hero constantly reminding us that he is a walking, talking erection ) just does not do it for me, so after first 100 pages I ended up skipping the sex bits, which became too repetitive and tedious for my liking, in hope to get back to the story. Thankfully, characters of Phoebe and Emma brought much-needed snarkiness and a touch of humour in to this over-long, over-padded lust-fest.

Hard to rate. It was typical Celia Kyle, with insta-love, and possessive H. But, it wasn't a novella, so the themes were just repeated over and over. Interspersed with minimal plot, there was lots and lots of inner monologues from either the H or h about how much they wanted the other, but why they needed to stay apart. It just seemed to be really wordy, and I found myself skimming a lot. I am on the fence about reading any further books in the series; while I am mildly interested in reading about the sisters, I am not sure I will seek the books out.

A good shifter story. Insta lust turning into insta love almost instaneously but they didn't act on it immediately.
Various plots to overcome before the HEA and I thought they were well done and the snarky teenager half bear Phee was hilarious.
I like this pack and I'm looking forward to the next Wicked in Wilder story.

The humor in this book was priceless. The story sometimes didn't make sense. The characters were well developed and the sex was steamy, but the plot could have used some attention.
The formatting could have also been better. I got pulled out of the story when a there wasn't a paragraph break when a new character begin speaking.

Loved this book!!!! Funny! Sexy! Witty banter! LOVED this book! Loved the sister Phee. She has snark down to an art form. Loved how strong and capable the heroine, Tilly, was. Loved how protective the hero, Mitchell, was. He was everything a hero should be. He supported the heroine, defended her, and most importantly loved her. I loved the interaction between all of the characters. I loved how one of the nasty characters gets redeemed. (I do agree with another reviewer. This was an enjoyable story. I liked both Tilly and Mitchell and their story was pretty good but had some issues overall.
Tilly is half lion-shifter and half human who's able to shift but has some weaknesses compared to full shifters. Tilly's mother had a thing for shifter men so Tilly's sisters are half shifters as well (one is a tiger and the other is a bear). Unfortunately, Tilly's mother isn't a decent mother so Tilly has been taking care of her sisters all her life.
Mitchell is the Alpha of the wolf shifter pack in Wilder. He was born an Alpha and is much larger and stronger than the other wolves in his pack. Mitchell wasn't aware of Tilly until she calls the pack house about an order from her bakery. The minute Mitchell heard her voice he knew he had to see her.
Tilly had to call the pack house because her sister got a bit creative with the icing on a cookie order for the wolves and the order needed to be redone. When Mitchell shows up to talk about it (well from his PoV he's there to see her) she arranges to deliver the cookies to the pack house later. There's an obvious and strong attraction between Mitchell and Tilly but she's determined to ignore it and Mitchell decides to go along with her (at least for now). Tilly isn't too thrilled about going to the pack house because her and her sisters have had trouble for other shifters due to their half shifter status (or being the wrong kind of animal) most of their lives. She gets the delivery made and there's a brief encounter with Mitchell but it takes a few more days before anything starts up.
Although their start is a bit rough, soon Mitchell is pursuing Tilly and doing his best to make her happy. There's some blockages though...the main one being that not all the wolves are content to have a non-wolf shifter as their alpha's mate (especially a half-human one). Mitchell doesn't care though and makes it quite clear that his pack will get over it or he'll force them to. The actual mating ceremony has to take place at the full moon and the pack will have to accept her after they're mated...assuming Tilly and Mitchell get to that point. There were some other things causing trouble for Mitchell and Tilly but they're able to get through them and work things out nicely so they end the story with a HEA together.
This was an enjoyable story. Although Mitchell confused me a bit when the story first started, he and Tilly were my favorite part of the story. The story itself was alright but there were some editing errors I noticed (and I rarely pay attention to those) and some parts of the plot that didn't make complete sense to me. I mean the plot worked out in the end but I felt like some logic was missing at times (which made me glad I got this for free via Amazon prime instead of buying it outright). Overall, I enjoyed this story and might read more of the series in the future. :)

Awesome Book
Loved this story! Mitchell is alpha of a wolf shifter pack. He meets a female lion shifter who he is greatly attracted to. But his pack has notoriously been intolerant of mixed matings. That is nothing new to Tilly. Tilly is half human and half lion shifter. She has been caring for her 2 sisters, one a bear shifter and one a tiger shifter, since Tilly was a young teenager. Ill treated and not accepted all her life, she is just getting by, hoping to get her sisters through school. But Alpha Mitchell cannot just let her be, and suddenly a whole boat load of troubles befall the three girls, Mitchell, the wolf pack, and a bear pack! And add insult to injury when unwelcome mean spirited relatives and pack mates pile on the troubles. This was an absolute gem of a book. I loved Tilly. She endured so much pain and heartache to take care of her younger sisters. She was vulnerable, hurting, but doing everything she could to protect and raise her sisters. Mitchell seemed at first clueless to the danger he put Tilly in; it was rewarding to see him take a stand. Because there are a huge amount of problems that Tilly and Mitchell will have to deal with just to stay alive. Really good book.

I just love Celia Kyle's work. She does shifters so well.
Tilly and Mitchell were fun to read about. Tilly and her sisters and her bff were even more fun to read about. CK has such a style with humor that it just rolls off the pages.
I love shifter books, and this was hit the mark that I was needing.
Tilly and her sisters were abandoned by their mother once Tilly was old enough to take care of her younger sisters. They've had it hard and rough. From having to take care of each other but also from other shifters, as half-shifters are not always as welcomed.
The instant connection between Tilly and Mitchell felt real, sure it was very rushed and happened almost like love at first sight, but it felt very real and right.
But this book isn't all just romance, there is some mystery and suspense in there as well. Which just made the book that much more for me.
I can't wait to read more from Celia, as her books always leave me feeling complete and wanting more.

Interesting new series.
The main theme seems to be racism. Primarily, full shifters against half shifters and types of shifters.
Tilly and Mitchell are first intrigued by the sound of each others voices. When they meet and first see and smell each other, the attraction becomes quite explosive. Mitchell finds everything, and I mean everything, about Tilly sexy.
Tilly has had a difficult past and the present is no picnic either. Mitchell immediately wants to step in and become her (and her sisters) protector and, really, her everything.
This story has a lot of "dirty" talk and swearing so if that kind of thing is not you, then be warned. There is also a bit of exhibitionism and voyeurism as well.
Those readers familiar with Celia Kyle books will recognise her signature humour in this story.

Finally a full story from Celia Kyle. I loved it obviously. The humor was still present but a tamer version and it worked much better for me.
I loved Tilly as a character and her relation with Mitchell and her sisters.
I loved the full story, the fact that the characters had time to settle and grow, no rush, just great.
I think I said in one of my comments that Celia Kyle can write stellar stories if they are longer and here it is.
I loved the fact that Till and Mitchell grew as a shifter couple in time without a "proper mating", took all the problems as a unified front and worked through everything.
I can see a future story between Phee and Gabe and I am looking forward for more stories from this series.

I didn't love it. Why?
From the blurb, I was expecting more of cat/dog interaction but it turned into some side characters being bigoted. Constant use of the f-word turned sexy into crude. The anal play was an unpleasant surprise, as well as the voyeurism during what should have been a private, intimate time between mates. Sex was the main topic of this story from the teenagers to the bakery to the friends to the main characters-it got old.

I absolutely love this book. Honestly, I think I've yet to meet a Celia Kyle book that I didn't love. Like all her books, this one had an easy-going, hilarious style of writing that is a joy to read. It has a kick-ass heroine with a fabulously funny and loud-mouthed teenage sister. It also has a hot alpha male who still manages to get all gooey for his mate. Add in a lot of background drama, and you have a highly entertaining book that manages to be sweet, sexy, and funny.
This was an excellent start to a new series and I'm already looking forward to the next one.

Recommend read.
Tilley is the oldest of 3 girls and has been taking care of them all her life. The bakery is their home and their lively hood. Mitchell is the alpha of his pack and is looking for his mate. This is an amazing story of family and learning how to love and trust. This is a stand alone book with a very happy ending. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

I liked this book, but I wanted more out of the h. I wanted her to kick ass and take names. She was portrayed as a badass, and I wanted to SEE that. Also, there were so many things stacked against her and the H it was a little exhausting. Over all, a great read. I want to find out what happens with her sisters.

Poor Mitchell. He's a great alpha, but I see a lot of sibling frustration in his future. I enjoyed the story; it was touching but also lighthearted in that magical Celia Kyle way. I look forward to the rest of the Wilder stories.

A interesting new read with 3 sister's who are half human and half lioness, tigress or bear but with a very interesting and unique bond with one another. Then we meet Werewolf Mitchell and from there things get intriguing, hot and lead the characters on a adventure.
