Aaliyah Richards is a New York Times best-selling author with a string of successful novels and a bright future ahead of her. During one of her many book signings, she meets an attractive fan named, Nathaniel Lord. Sparks fly and before she knows it, she finds herself being pursued by the daring bachelor.
Nathaniel seems like the perfect man—almost too good to be true. Against her better judgment, she enters a relationship with him, but things quickly turn south when he starts to show his true colors.
Suddenly, Aaliyah finds herself in an abusive relationship and must find a way out before it destroys her.
My name is Nakeesha Cluse. I am an aspiring author of interracial romance and Southern Gothic novels. As a wife and mother of two beautiful children, I live in Colorado Springs, and enjoy spending time with my family and getting outdoors!
An avid lover of reading and storytelling, I find my inspiration in everyday life. I enjoy writing about heroines who find their strength through adversity and heroes who are loyal, with a bit of a bad boy side to them.
Currently, I am working on my third novel, Nicolette Thorne: Good Girl Gone Bad. It is the second novella in my Southern Gothic collection. It deals with abuse, blackmail, gangs, ghost, and murder. Let's just say, it's not for the faint at heart! I hope to have it out by Fall 2016.
I love getting reviews from my readers- good and not so good! The good reviews encourage me. I use the constructive criticism of the "not so good reviews" to help me learn - Notice I said constructive criticism :).
Thank you for taking the time to read my books, and feel free to contact me about upcoming releases.
I'm not a fan of stories under 100 pages and this should have been my clue that this was a NOVELLA. The story ends abruptly in the middle of an important scene.
I enjoyed the writing style but the heroine acted more like a 18-year virgin, rather than someone older. I liked that she was self-made and lovingly took care of mother and the heroine is a sweet person. The heroine's friend was OTT! It's difficult to tell that this heroine is supposed to be a black woman. There is lots of blushing going on. The reasons for why she hadn't had a relationship since college was a stretch for me. I totally disagreed with her when she disagreed with the hero. Th
I'm also not a fan of "he can have anybody he wants" bandwagon because this is NOT true--not everyone is caught up in looks, money or power!
This was published January 2019 so when the finale (I hope) will be released is anybody's guess.
This story keeps you in its grasp from page 1! Author Aaliyah Richards meets Nathaniel Grayson at a book signing and it’s love/lust at first sight. However, wealthy Nate was born into NYC elite while Aaliyah was born to a hard working single mom. This pair see beyond the superficial of each other and fall in love. But can this love survive the machinations of Nathan’s jealous exes and his secrets? Fair warning, this book ends in a cliff hanger...and I’m eagerly waiting on the next book. I accepted a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Where do I start. I love that Aaliyah was a YA author of fantasy. I loved that she caused herself. Nathaniel was on the right track but fell short. Communication and honesty required. This one ended on a unresolved moment. This was not what I was hoping for. Now some time after the first book there is no news of a follow up. I want more. Audio itself was nice but I wanted Nate to sound more masculine.
I enjoyed listening to the audio version of this book. It tells the story of two people from very different backgrounds who meet and are instantly attracted to one another. It is a story that was easy to listen to. It wasn’t very long but I enjoyed listening to it. The narrator told the story well. I would recommend 😊
I love this book. Now I am desperate for book 2 because there’s a cliffhanger. I cannot wait. I also find myself looking for other interracial romances. Really enjoyed the story. Well done.
