Tainted Pictures is book two in The Photographer trilogy by Sarah Robinson. I have to admit that I am completely caught up in this series. I literally could not put it down. I am forcing myself to stop and write this review before I continue on with the final book.

Kate Jackson has lost everything after her brutal attack. She is slowly recovering from her physical injuries but will she ever be able to recover from her emotional ones? Not only from the attack but also from being betrayed by the man she had entrusted her heart, Derrick.

Derrick knows he has made a huge mistake. What happened to Kate has made him re-evaluate everything, looking back at his own past and the skeletons he has kept hidden all these years. He knows he is deeply in love with Kate and that he wants to spend the rest of his life making his mistake up to her, if she will only give him the chance.

 photo tainted teaser excerpt2_zps1yxjiabi.jpg

I want to stop here and say that even with the horrible nature of the crime that was committed here, the outcome in both Derrick and Kate was a positive one. Kate is probably the strongest woman I have ever read about. She is bound and determined not to let what happened to her define her. And even after what Derrick did, I have still been rooting for this couple. Kate even says at one point to Derrick that he is not the same man he was before. He has come to terms with his own past and only wants to look towards a future with Kate.

“Maybe two people can be broken on their own, but together they heal each other, they are whole. Kate, I am broken without you in my life.”

“Of course she already loved this man but he had this way of making her fall in love with him again and again. Derrick was no longer the boyish guy she first fell in love with, he was a man and growing more so each passing day.”

 photo Polaroids_by_volcomman3523_zpstmrqb5db.png

We get both Kate and Derrick’s point of views but I really loved that we also get some time in Liz’s head who is one of the two police detectives working on the case. Liz and her partner Mike are moving heaven and earth to try to solve this case. The problem is that both Kate and Derrick are not completely forth coming with all that is going on. Kate still is carrying the photograph the attacker took of her, too embarrassed to share it with the police, not realizing what an important clue it is. And twice now Derrick has sensed another presence. Once outside of Kate’s apartment on the fire escape, and once at his own apartment across the way on a balcony of an empty apartment. He saw an abandoned cigarette left smoldering as if it was left in a hurry. Is someone watching them, stalking them? But he does not share this with Kate not wanting to further upset her.

 photo cigarette530_zps1hyzsjzq.jpg

Kate and Derrick are working to regain the love and trust they had been building and their love story is truly a beautiful one. At the same time, Liz and Mike are working non-stop to try to uncover who the photographer is and stop him. There is even a tentative friendship forming between Kate and Liz.

At the same time as their love story is unfolding, the photographer is watching, taunting. This is a sick, sick person and he covers his tracks well. Can the detectives uncover his identity before he hurts someone again?

The book ends with a HUGE cliffhanger so be ready to go right on into the final book. That’s exactly what I plan to do right now!

Happiness is the face of someone who loves you.

Tainted Pictures is the second in the Photographers Trilogy series, continuing on with a sadistic psychological thriller based on a true story. Kate refuses to "play" the victim, but as she tries to move on someone is reminding her just how hallow that belief is. Derrick has a lot to atone for and with patience and care he slowly makes way to forgiveness.

This is a series that needs to be read in sequence and has to be read with caution, this is a reminder of how ugly our world can be and how one is never really safe from harm. This was definitely a step up in the right direction in regards to the authors work, she had me enthralled, captivated and wondering the entire time. She managed to be able to keep the story going while developing the love between Kate and Derrick; one not taking away from another but complimenting each other as it should. This story does end in a cliff hanger, one I need to read ASAP to see how it all ends. I'm hoping, especially since it's based off of a true story, that there is a HEA is in their stars.

Tainted Pictures by Sarah Robinson is the second book in the Photographer Trilogy romantic suspense series and the third one that I have read by this author. The author brings the expected romance and suspense. However, there is much more to the novel once you get into it.

Kate Jackson works in retail sales for an office furniture store. While she has a psychology degree, she hasn’t been able to find a job that uses it and pays as well as her current one. Her one strong relationship is with her sister, Annie. She is devastated by her boyfriend Derrick’s reaction at the hospital and their trust is in shreds. The Photographer is back and her life is falling apart.

Kate, Annie and Derrick are relatable characters with both strengths and flaws. Kate is a fighter and refuses to let her attacker define her life. The additional secondary characters including Detective Mike McCraig, Detective Liz Snow, Craig McDermott, Uncle Lenny, and others provide support or conflict, but without the same amount of depth.

The prose was well-written and engaging. The story contains some hard to read themes including child abuse, stalking, and assault. The author tackles these difficult subject matters and handles them well. While both Kate and Derrick make mistakes, they both realize that their past experiences are affecting them. Will their relationship survive or collapse? Is Kate safe now?

My biggest quibble with this book is that it ends on a cliffhanger and isn’t self-contained. I have the other books in the trilogy and hope that all the threads are tied up by the end of the trilogy, but I wanted more closure at the end of this one. 3.5 stars rounded to 4.

In addition to the usual intense connection and steamy scenes, the book tackles other important issues (besides those mentioned above) including family, friendship, trust, commitment, revenge, infidelity, fear, murder, self-image, and the different ways victims are treated when something bad happens, as well as the various responses to such events by the victims and others.

Overall, this was a read that tackles some serious issues with sensitivity and I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Thanks to the author for a complimentary copy of this novel and the opportunity to read and provide an honest review. Opinions are mine alone and are not biased in any way. The publication date was April 18, 2014.

This second installment in the Photography Trilogy is absolutely amazing. I was hooked from page one. This book takes the story to a whole new level. If you enjoyed the first book, you are gonna love this one! Kate begins to take back her power and go from victim to empowered woman. She is learning to trust Derrick again. And she opens up to him and shares all of her demons with him. He is trying to win her trust back and feels awful for how he treated her when she needed him most. He has a ways to go and I find that I wished he would tell the cops all that he has learned. The detectives in this case are very dedicated to finding the creep that attacked her, and as she shares all of what happened to her, they start finding out how far this crime might go. This book is action packed and there are so many plot twists and turns, I could not put this book down for a second. The ending of this book will blow your mind and I cannot wait to see how the story ends. This book grips you from start to finish, and it is quite a ride.

G I am not even sure to start!! I feel very privileged to have been a beta read for Sarah Robinson for this book!! What an amazing job she has done continuing Kate and Derrick's journey in Tainted Pictures. Once again I stayed up all night on the end of my seat. This book is filled of even more surprising twists than Tainted Bodies and will keep you guessing till the very last page. Several times throughout the book I thought I had figured out who the "bad guy" was and then Sarah would change my mind completely. I laughed and cried throughout this book and am already so anxious to get my hands on the third book in this amazing series. I guarantee you do not want to miss out on reading The Photographer series!!!

Tainted Pictures (The Photographer Trilogy #2) By: Sarah Robinson

I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is the second book in the series and they must be read in that order. If you haven’t read the first book, start there so you can fully appreciate the series!
Kate was somewhat wandering around in life until she met Derrick, their relationship became heated quickly but a vicious crime tears them apart, band leaves Kate haunted and looking to find who hurt her. Will she catch the person who hurt her? Will she able to work things out with Derrick? Will she be able to trust anyone again?

I am utterly speechless; I have chills after finishing this book. After the first book, I loved the romance mixed with the criminal/suspense element but I felt like it lacked more of that story and that it could have been developed earlier in the story. That is not the case with this book; this is full of suspense, drama, and looking for clues to figure out who the culprit is. Characters are further developed and the author gives you a glimpse of the criminal’s previous possible victims in an attempt to further tell the story of the case and the crime. This book is a great continuation of the first story and by far trumps the first book! Be warned though, this will end in a cliffhanger, but not one that you will hate, granted I was shaking, but it just makes you crave the next book in the series all that much more! The last book in the series will be out in July of this year and it is definitely on my Goodreads TBR list!

I am honored that I was chosen to read and review this book, thank you so much to Sarah Robinson for the opportunity and for a great new suspense novel. I can’t wait for the next in the series!

Oooohhhh the suspense and stomach clenching! I had the enormous honor of beta reading this book, and let me tell you, you won't be disappointed. Sarah Robinson is a phenomenal writer, building you up and developing the story, investing you in the characters.
You pick right up where Tainted Bodies left off. I'm an anti-spoiler reviewer, so I'm not going to give anything away. Because I KNOW there are more people who need to pick up the first book, or who are waiting for the whole trilogy. But you will follow Derrick and Kate reconnecting and furthering their relationship. Life threw them a shitful curveball and they falter. But you get to see their resolve and strength and humanness to overcome it. Plus hot sex and swoony moments. Sigh. Derrick. You really bring it home.
Add the crazy psycho suspense aspect of who-dunnit and who do you trust...??? I had so many crazy theories and they're still not resolved.
I'd like to warn, it ends at a brilliant cliffhanger. But it is a SUSPENSE trilogy. Duh. When the suspense is over, so is the story. So get a handle on it. You'll love it. Click it.

Book two in the Photographer Trilogy, and as much as I loved the first one, this one is significantly better.

******SPOILERS FOR BOOK 1 Danger!!******************

Kate our female protagonist is still working to recover from being a victim of the serial rapist/killer "The Photographer." As a part of this, she works with the police to find her attacker and see him punished, and more not allowed to hurt anyone else.

Twists, turns, false leads, this book will worm its way into your psyche and I warn you, do not start it late at night because you will not got to bed till you finish it.

DAYS after I finished I still am thinking about it and am anxious for book three to come out!

I was lucky enough to beta read Tainted Pictures and I was just blown away!! This is by far the best book by Sarah Robinson so far, even though her last two books were incredible. This book is nonstop action, drama, and romance. It is also a MAJOR cliffhanger which normally would frustrate me but this was so well done, I am just excited!! I can't wait for it to come out so that everyone else can read it- you NEED to buy this book. It is life changing!!

Sarah creates characters that are so real yet going through extraordinary events- however, the way she writes it is so skilled that everything seems like it is happening right in front of you. I truly believe that this whole book could happen in real life (although I hope it doesn't because The Photographer is terrifying!!). I love that The Photographer's identity is finally revealed and I never even would have guessed who it was!! Don't worry, I won't spoil it for you!

Kate and Derrick's love grows even stronger as they continue to heal and work through everything that happened to them both individually and as a couple. Derrick does a complete turnaround as he works to redeem himself after what he did in Book 1. I hated him in Book 1 but now- *swoon* he is my favorite book boyfriend by far!! Their love is so intoxicating and I just can't wait to find out what happens in Book 3!

This book is 5++++++++ stars!! You have to go read it ASAP!! It comes out April 18th!!

Tainted Pictures is the second installment in The Photographer Trilogy and picks up right where Tainted Bodies left off.

Tainted Pictures has Kate and Derrick growing, both as individuals and as a couple. Kate is searching for and finding her inner strength and purpose in her life. Derrick is coming to terms with his treatment of Kate and becoming a much stronger man. As a couple they are learning to trust each other. Whenever they are together their chemistry is just undeniable—sparks fly, as do clothes!

One of the true gifts in this book is the multiple characters we come into contact with. Being able to see the story from several different viewpoints was fascinating to me. I loved that we were able to view the action from both Kate and Derrick’s perspective but then also from the Detectives, Liz Snow and Mike McCraig’s. It made the book deeper, richer and more alive as we cling to our e-readers desperate to figure out who is leaving pictures. Who is The Photographer?

Well, I thought that Tainted Bodies left us with a cliffy and it did…but nothing like the cliffhanger that was left for us on the very last pages of Tainted Pictures. I have a feeling people are going to be knocking down Sarah’s door trying to get Book 3!

I was gifted this book in return for an honest review.

I just love The Photographer Trilogy. I'm not really into crime romance but have thoroughly enjoyed reading this series. This book surpassed my expectations in every way. Book 1 was so good and didn't think that it would be possible for the story to get better but I was so glad to be proven wrong. The myriad of emotions I experienced in Tainted bodies definitely applied to Tainted Pictures. I laughed, cried, got angry, etc. However, I experienced so much more with Tainted Pictures because I was left feeling anxious at times and I was even frightened at times, to the point I was looking over my shoulders walking in parking lots.

I love how Derrick has redeemed himself and I found myself forgiving him too. Kate and Derrick's love story is so beautiful.

I admired how Kate "pulled herself up by her bootstraps". I found myself really loving her character in this book way more than in book 2.

Holy Cliffhanger, Mrs. Robinson! And, boy, did I boohoo bad. I need to know how this ends like yesterday! Bring on Book 3!

I was a Beta reader for Tainted Pictures the second book in The Photographer Trilogy.
I loved Tainted Bodies. But Tainted Picures goes more in depth on the search for the person who attacked Kate. We learn more on how Kate is picking up the pieces to her life and moving on. She will not be a victim. She will stand tall. Or will she?
Then we have Derrick. The boyfriend we all loved to hate in book one. This time around he is a stand up guy. He is there for Kate to love and support her. To protect her. But can he keep his promises?
The suspense in this book draws you in more. It leads you to think it's one person, and then another. It keeps you guess right up to the end. Literally.

***Remember this book is only two out of three so there is a cliffhanger ending. Let's just hope we don't have to wait very long for the next book!

Wow this book is equal too if not better than the first book Tainted Bodies and like the first book I couldn't put it down.

Kate grows and matures a lot in this book as does Derrick. The hunt is now on for Kate's attacker and once the photograph is turned over to the police it turns out Kate's attack wasn't the first and she is in fact the only surviver. It soon be come apparent that Kate's attacker is stalking her - intend on tormenting her before finally finishing the job. Will the police figure out who the "photographer' is in time or will Kate become this serial killer's latest victim.

Like the first book I read this in one sitting as I need to know what happens. Now I eagerly await the 3rs book in the series.

Wow is the first word that comes to mind as I finished this book. Its starts right where Tainted Bodies ended and was awesome from page one. Kate is trying to piece her life back together after her attack and find her trust again in Derrick. When The Photographer shows back up to unsettle everything she is working hard to make normal again. This book is a creepy edge of your seat book because you never know where the next picture is going to show up next. I can't wait for the 3rd one in the series.

First of all, I've gotta say Sarah Robinson has done it again!!
Note: This is a cliffhanger.

I love how she forgives Derrick. Their love and attraction to one another is undeniable. Derrick has vowed to protect Kate, but what happens when she is alone for a short time? Will the Photographer make Kate a victim once again... Read the second installment of The Photographer Trilogy to find out. ((Tainted Bodies must be read first))

This is the second book in the Photographer series.

In my opinion this book trumps the first book.

This cannot be read as a standalone. It is part of a series and you need to have read the first one or the whole storyline will not make sense. (and you will have missed out on a great read!)

It’s more fast paced, more focused on the ‘Photographer” the investigation and has many plot twists and turns.

Derrick and Kate are trying to piece their relationship back together, after Derrick’s betrayal.

Kate feels as if she can’t trust him and she has good reason not too.

Kate starts to put her life back together weeks after the attack. She moves on with Derrick, starts working again and helps the police with their investigation.

Just like with the first book this told in the third person POV and we have Kate, Derrick her sister Annie as well as the police officers and Uncle Lenny.

The photographer has done this before.

Except no one else is left alive.

Kate is the only one.

And he is coming back.

He starts to stalk Kate,, taking photos of her and leaving them for her to find.

New leads are coming through and they are getting closer and closer to finding who he is.

Can they find out before it’s too late…

Just remember that this is Book 2.. so Yep a Cliffhanger.

But I will be there on release day waiting to see what happens!

I fell in love with Kate and Derrick’s story in Tainted Bodies. I had only hoped they could work through their insecurities and be together unconditionally. Sarah has sucked me in to Kate’s story; she’s done an amazing job writing this story. There were so many thoughts going through my mind, many unanswered questions that I found out in this book. Not only does Kate have to work on her relationship with Derrick, she is working on new relationships with people she never imagined being friends with. Kate is such a strong and motivated woman, who is building her life new after her terrible assault. But that doesn’t mean the fear and horrible memories aren’t always lurking in the back of her mind. Can she move on and finally be happy after a lifetime of being sad and alone? I really hope her and Derrick can finally be happy. And don't worry I won't tell you but the photographer is revealed!!! AAHHH!! I can't believe what happens!! Great job Sarah!!

Holy crap, where do I start?
This book is amazing. I was hooked when I read Tainted Bodies, but after reading Tainted Pictures, I have to know what happens next.
This book follows Kate & Derrick after the events of Tainted Bodies, and we get to watch Kate go pawn to queen in this deadly game of chess they are playing with The Photographer. There are moments that will heat you up, some that will chill your blood, and others that will make you tear up. Sarah has a way with words, a way to capture your attention and suck you into this world she has created, and leave you demanding more.
Seriously, I need more. I can only imagine the ending of this trilogy being even more epic than the first two books, as each one keeps getting better and better. You MUST grab this book when it comes out on April 18th!

** Review for BareNakedWords **

Wow...just Wow!!! If you loved ‘Tainted Bodies’ then you’re definitely going to love ‘Tainted Pictures’. Full of even more twists and unexpected turns, Sarah has completely blown me away yet again with this second instalment to the ‘Photographer Trilogy’. She pulls us in and keeps us turning the pages and on the edges of our seats until the very end.

We are pulled straight back in to Kate and Derricks life just as book 1 ended. After being attacked and left in the hospital alone by the one person she thought loved her, Kate is trying to get her life back on track. Determined not to let the attack weaken or defeat her; working with the police to catch her attacker and to stop him from being able to hurt anyone else.

But not only does she have to help the police, Kate also has to learn if she can trust Derrick again. If their love and relationship can move forward from what has happened.

“I feel broken. I feel as if what we have is broken, Derrick. I needed you and you weren’t there for me. I love you but this,” Kate motioned between the two of them, “isn’t what we used to be.”
Derrick is determined to fight and gain Kate’s trust back after he left her in the hospital.

“Kate, I love you too but this isn’t broken. What we have, that spark, the connection- it’s still there. Maybe two people can be broken on their own, but together they heal each other, they are whole. Kate, I am broken without you in my life.”

He knows what he did was wrong and will do everything in his power to not fail her again. To protect her, love her and to make her feel safe.

“You are always going to be safe with me, Kate. I will never let anything happen to you again. I am yours forever. I love you, Kate.”

But is it enough?
And do we find out who ‘the photographer’ is?

I can’t fault anything with this book. The writing, as always is flawless, characters are very well developed and the attention to detail is absolutely brilliant. I loved the suspense, and just when you think you’ve worked out who ‘the photographer’ is, you hit a dead end. Sarah keeps you guessing and wracking your brain up until the last page.

I loved how the chapters flitted between Kate and Derrick to the detectives in charge of the case. It made you feel more in the loop with the happenings of the case instead of only getting little tidbits when Kate went to see them or vice versa.

I also admired Derrick a lot more in this book. I was absolutely astounded with the way he reacted once he found out what happened to Kate in book 1. She needed him and he failed her. But he really did make it up to her in this book and showed her the man he is. He grew up a lot.

I can’t say this enough, but thank you Sarah for once again delivering such a wonderful story.
I’m now anxiously waiting for the final instalment of this amazing and suspenseful series. Believe me; you are going to want to get your hands on these books.

YOU. WILL. NOT. BE. DISAPPOINTED!!!

Holy CLIFFhanger batman!! This series just got real!!! I am reeling from that last page...I have no words right now, but the review must go on.

Okay this book picks up right where the first one left off with Kate leaving the police station and a little guilty about her decision. I will admit that I was a bit miffed at her making such an idiotic decision but what is a book without some sort of drama, right? I think if I was in her shoes I wouldn't want anyone to see me in such a manner either, but after it was all said and done it worked out for the best.

Now I am going to admit something...I pretty much guessed who The Photographer was in book 1, but you just never know. I will give nothing away...you will most definitely need to read to find out. I am not a spoil sport. In my first review I also stated that I was really a fan of the POV but soon discovered that this POV is the only way this story can be as awesome as it is. I love being able to get the story from all sides. I really liked getting to read what the detectives were doing to further the progress of Kate's case and how it was personally affecting them. I really like both of the detectives and how much they are dedicating to the case.

Time for another confession...I was pretty pissed off at Derrick and really did not see him being able redeem himself, but boy was I wrong. Derrick now is way different from Derrick in book 1 and I LOVE him. I loved being able to read the story with his feelings and thoughts too. You could feel his love towards Kate and his guilt for his MAJOR mistake that he will forever regret. I also really liked how he let Kate's strength be a catalyst for his change and acceptance of what happened to her. In this book Kate really broke out of the ties that were binding her and was determined to make her life better and not let her past tragedies control her anymore. I really love her character.

Just when all the pieces are falling into place and you are ready for the ass kicking to begin...BAM shit gets real!! I will end my review with #wheresbook3 #ineedbook3 ?!?!?

This is book 2 in The Photographer Trilogy. It will suck you in and question your thoughts on who might be the Photographer.

Kate is learning to trust Derrick again from when he abandoned her at one of her most vulnerable moments in her life. Derrick knows he was selfish by his reactions to Kate's vicious attack. He doesn't fathom how Kate could trust him again, and doesn't believe he deserves it. Kate decides to prove how much she trusts him by revealing all her past demons. Derricks reactions to Kate's past was very unexpected. Derrick redeems himself by loving Kate like he should have in the beginning of their relationship.

Kate decides to rise above her insecurities and wants to help the detectives anyway she can. She shows how strong of a women she is by fighting back and not being scared to go after what she wants to accomplish. As the detectives start finding out more info on the Photographer, and start closing in, the Photographer steps up his game and squashes their leads.

When you think you have the Photographer figured out and new twist in the story takes you down a different path. This book was more exciting for me then the first book. I like how you get the multiple POVs, I believe it adds so much to the story. There is a lot more suspense which keeps you glued to the pages. This book has a major cliffhanger that will leave you wanting more. I can't wait for the next book in this trilogy.

Tainted Pictures (The Photographer Trilogy #2)

More twists and turns you will not see coming. Kate is still trying to recover from her attack. Don't start eh book until you have the time to finish reading it fully. Hard to put down. Very action packed.

** this review is will spoil the story but not give specifics**
OMG! The ending left me speechless, if you don't like cliffhangers then I would wait for the third book to be released. I for one am on the countdown for when Untainted is released.
This book was a lot slower than the first but you can still relate to Derrick and Kate - Derrick even redeemed himself in my eyes and I now like him. I think my fav character is Detective McCraig, the ally scene with him was priceless
Sarah, really knows how to hook you in....bring on #3

This book continues on from Tainted Bodies.
I was hooked with this book, just waiting to see how Kate and Derrick handle the aftermath of Kate's attack. I must say Derrick had to work hard to get back into my good books after the way he handled Kate in the hospital in Tainted Bodies, but he is on the road back into my good graces.
The whole time I was reading I was trying to anticipate who The Photographer was and even though we haven't been told directly, I am pretty confident that I have figured it out.
Bring on the next in the series so I can have my suspicions confirmed.
