Penelope was the good one of the family. Although, why her preacher father and mother couldn't make her siblings walk the straight and narrow she wasn't sure. But then again, Penelope was getting tired of having no friends much less prospective husband and being known as the too-gooder of Duston. What Penelope wanted to know was how could she be just bad enough to be liked? A family of robin-hood outlaws provides her with just what she needs.
Such a unique story! I loved the changes in everyone as they decided to love, forgive, heal, and start over! Duston sounds like a great little Texas town!
The story that the female character as a opposite of what you would expect from a preacher’s daughter. Penelope is a very judgmental girl who the town seems not like. She thinks she is the only one that does God’s way. She finally finds someone that tells her what she is doing wrong unfortunately she thinks he is in a gang
Funny and cute that Penelope takes it upon herself to point out others faults without seeing the beam in her own eye, until she wants to find the town outlaws to see why they are loved and tolerated and she wants isn't. - Babs
Penelope and Hayden are great! I didn't like Penelope much in the beginning, but she grew on me. It's nice to see Rand opening up to the life around him.
This is a beautiful story of transformed lives. Don't be surprised if you laugh out loud several times. While the town thought Penelope had been kidnapped her "captors" felt a little more like she had attacked them. I thought of the old warning "dont judge a book by its cover" as I read this novel. Great for all age groups.
