Teased by Fire is a stand alone romantic comedy by Molly O’Hare. This is the third book I’ve read by Molly and I fall more in love with her with every one.
Olive Quinn is an introvert. She doesn’t do people. She loves staying inside the apartment she shares with her roommate, Miranda Parker and writing romance novels. Olive writes about love. She writes about Happily Ever Afters. But her characters are all from her imagination because Olive doesn’t know a thing about real love. Her parents never showed her an ounce of love or affection. And her one relationship turned out to be a joke, with the joke being on her. So Olive stays inside, where it’s safe. Until her roommate informed her that her new job was going to force her to move. But that her brother needed a new place to stay so he was moving in!
Hank (the tank) Parker is a firefighter. He grew up knowing Olive. She was his younger sister’s best friend and was at the house constantly. When they were kids he would tease her. As they got older, he loved getting a reaction out of her so he kept on giving her a hard time. Because if that was the only way he could get her attention, then he’d take it. Because Hank had a serious thing for Olive Quinn. When he found out that Olive would be needing a new roommate, he jumped at the chance.
“What is wrong with you, Olive? It is not okay to have those types of thoughts about your best friend’s brother. No, no siree bub. Not okay? Ignore the half naked firefighter only a few feet from you.”
Hank knew what he wanted, Olive! But Olive fought her attraction for as long as she could. Did I mention that Hank also brought his pet whose name was Dog. But, his pet was actually a cat, a very large Maine Coon cat that was the size of a small child. Who names their cat “Dog?”
Hank soon discovers Olive’s secret, that she writes sexy, panty melting romance novels. So it’s time for Olive to do a little research for her books and Hank proposes that he willingly volunteers to be her test subject. If this is the only way he can get closer to her, he’ll take it, for now!
I loved this book. These two were hilarious. Olive is one of those characters that you feel so bad for but that also frustrates you. She flourished with Hank’s attentions. But still, in the back of her mind, she feels like it can never be more than it is. That she is unlovable. That someone like him could never really fall for someone like her.
This really took an unexpected turn which had me turning the pages like crazy. And then there was that ending. I swooned. I really did fall in love with these two. At the end of the book the author hints that there is more to come with Miranda and Hank’s friend Luke. I can’t wait for more.

This Is the first book from this author I have had the pleasure to read. And honestly I read the blurb and it sounded like the type of fun, lighthearted story I was in the mood for. And I am so glad I picked it up.
Molly's writing was great and I loved that the main character was a romance novelist. Olive was such an interesting character. I loved that she had all these kooks that made her, her and she didn't try to cover them up. And as someone who would rather be in my bedroom with my laptop sans pants and bra I could totally relate. If only I had a crazy hot fireman walking around half naked.
Hank was pretty awesome himself. And I couldn't put it down once I started. He knew Olive was it for him and he went all out to prove it to her. Add in his crazy cat and it was impossible not to love him.
For a story that was light on drama with a lot of laughs it still had a fair bit of emotion and it kept me flipping the pages wondering what was going to happen next. And I am going to have to read Lord waffles book in the not too distant future now that I know what to expect from Molly.

Teased by Fire is the third romantic comedy by Molly O'Hare and having read all three, this book quickly became my favorite. Don't get me wrong - I loved Hollywood Dreams and Stumbling into Him but Teased by Fire is simply amazing.
I love the characters this author writes because they are real. If you've read my reviews before you will realize that I'm not about a size 2 supermodel that gets the billionaire most of the time. My most favorite 5 star reads are almost always the normal girl gets the boy. Well in this case, Olive is adorably quirky but she doesn't let Hank get away with much. Hank. Swoon. Hank is the ultimate book boyfriend. He's got the looks but he's also got a sensitive side and I adore him.
The author also adds pets and they truly have their own personalities and come off the pages; they're usually a bit mischievous which is great because who hasn't had a pet that doesn't realize they're the pet?
I absolutely recommend Teased by Fire - it's going to make you laugh out loud.

I’m not going to lie, I’ve been dying to get my hands on Hank and Olive’s story since I was Teased by the blurb. See what I did there? Sorry. I’ll stop. No one does romcom better than Molly O’Hare and this book brings all of her talent right to the forefront. I laughed so hard I cried while reading this but she perfectly balances the hysterical comedy and brilliant banter with true sweep you off your feet, feel it in your soul romance creating the kind of romcom that steals your heart while it keeps you smiling.
Olive is hands down my favorite character from Molly. That girl is like my book soul sister. So many things would come out of her mouth where I was left going “YAAAAAS! PREACH QUEEN” while I was cracking up. Olive is so funny, so adorably sweet, and so relatable. Hank on the other hand, while he’s also equally hilarious he’s most definitely H.O.T. hot!
The heat is ramped up in this book compared to Molly’s previous books and it is DIVINE! Olive and Hank definitely set the pages on fire more than once during this book. Hank and Olive along with Hank’s giant cat, named Dog had me flying through the pages of this unputdownable read! Mix laugh out loud hilarity and steamy sexiness with some major swoon and a good dose of heart stopping moments and you’ve got that magic that is Teased by Fire.

Olive avoids anything social, she lives in her head and in the stories she writes. Although her closest friend and roommate has decided to move out for her new job, that is not what has Olive in a tailspin. Olive is furious that her new roommate is Hank, her nemesis, her friends brother and bane of her existence.
Hank has his own agenda, he has always secretly had a thing for Olive and he wants to find out if there is something there. He knows he has a reputation and Olive has made it clear she is planning to hide out in her room but Hank has a plan. Will his plan work or backfire?
I enjoyed this one but did feel that at times Hank was a bit immature. Overall really good story and Olive is a fun quirky character that I could easily relate too. Full of humor and I loved the animal sidekick cat who was named Dog.

Thoroughly enjoyed this read - it was hot, funny, and heartwarming. And as for a cat named Dog, with all her funny ways, that just added the icing on the cake of an already great read!

This was a fast and easy read, I enjoyed but would not reread. The characters were easy and not very deep in my opinion and if their age hadn’t been mentioned through the book I would have guessed them to be at least ten years younger than they actually were. Their actions were more than childish and while I laughed about some of the teasing, most of it was just too much, it seemed too forced in my opinion.
And while I know a few hermits and prefer less people over a crowd any day, I find it hard to believe that a young and successful young woman as Olive would prefer absolute no human contact to a point where she closes herself off of everybody. I understand that her past has formed her, but honestly from what we got of it, it didn’t seem convincing for me. It didn’t make sense.
I also could not really believe that Hank had a thing for her. It wasn’t convincing. At all. All in all I can say that the characters fell rather short.
The writing style was okay. I sometimes stumbled a bit over the wording, but I wouldn’t call it mistakes, just unusual wordings and sentence structures.
All in all it was a fast paced short read, good between two more challenging reads.

This is my third book by Molly, and by far, the best.
I went into it not really knowing what to expect, and it had me rolling from the very beginning and swooning just as hard.
First, we have Olive. Who, admittedly, she was a soul sister just from the first mention of a zombie apocalypse. She's a bit of a recluse, who sometimes maybe doesn't shower every day, wears her pajamas a lot and prefers books to humans.
Then we have Hank. Oh, dear LORD Hank. I knew Hank was going to be trouble from the word go. Hank who hates shirts. Hank who loves to play pranks on his Olive Oil. Hank, who has a cat named Dog the size of a human child who may or may not want to make Olive his next meal. And he's a firefighter, I mean, HELLO...
The set up is perfect. The writing is spot on. The blend of sweetness and humor is just right and Molly for sure turned up the heat with this couple and I AM LIVING FOR IT.
Molly, you have a winner winner chicken dinner on your hands.

Teased By Fire was a nice,funny and sexy read.
Olive,our heroine,works from home,she is an introvert and elusive person who prefers to live in her mind, and what interesting inner monologues she has. Hank,our hero is her opposite,he is a fireman with a lot of friends who loves to go out.They know each other since they were kids and Hank never missed an opportunity to play jokes on her.
Now that they are housemates will they kill each other?Or Olive finally will let their relationship be more than a research?
First time I've read a book written by this author but when I turned the last page of this one I was ready to start the others because I've really enjoyed Molly O'Hare smart and sweet writing.

But he is around 34 years old and when he learns his sister is moving out of her room in Olive's apartment, he grabs his chance to act of his feelings by moving in to his sister's vacant room. Olive is introvert that has a big imagination that writes romance books. Working from her apartment and in her room most of the time with only her best friend Miranda as her social go to person. But Miranda informed her two days ago she found a job and has to move to take the job and that her brother Hank is moving in. Olive thinks he is hot but out of her league and along with his annoying teasing her is making her panic that her world is changing. Along with the lost of a best friend who has been at her hip since they were little is causing her to taking her corkiness to another level.

I loved this book. This is the second one I've read my Molly O'Hare but not the last.
The H, Hank was UH-MA-ZING! He was just about perfect. Emotional but tough & head over heels for the h, Olive. He just about loses his shit when something happens to Olive and it was so emotional & well written that I felt what he felt. He's one of my fav emotional H's.
Olive was always mentioning aliens and zombies and her inner thoughts were a little out there at times. But she was quirky and unique. A fun character to read.
This is not what I would call a quick read but I still recommend it fully.
-no cheating
-neither with anyone else after moving in together
-no OW/OM drama
-no physical abuse, past or present
-mental/emotional abuse by h parents but they aren't in the book much
-no epilogue but we get to see a few months into relationship
This was another funny read by Ms. O'Hare. I really like her sense of humor and look so forward to more by her.

Teased by Fire is the perfect story if you are looking for a binge worthy rom-com!!!
Oh Olive! You are the perfect character and if you were real, you would definitely be my best friend! She has weirdness in spades, sass and when Hank moves in, she also gets more than she bargains for in ways of research!
Hank is the perfect specimen! Gorgeous bod, gorgeous heart and it has always belonged to the girl he thought was off limits!
But not anymore...

I was so excited to read this book when I read the blurb. The book did not disappoint! I love the characters, including the pets. They are so true to life and the story makes sense and flows well. Hank will make you swoon, you'll love Olive, and you'll laugh a lot. I highly recommend this read!!

Olive is great!! I had my tree up till May once!🎄 😹Oh this is fantastic, the Cat is named Dog, and Olive treats her like a Shark😹 Loving the lingo too!!

It’s quite funny, she lists all the icky things she notices (she’s basically overdue for a good shower) and he’s secretly looking at her like she the last yummy IceCream Cone on Earth🍦

Teased by Fire is the perfect combination of steam, romance, and humor!!!!
The book opens with Olive steaming mad that her bestie, Miranda, is moving out. She isn’t mad that Miranda is leaving. She is sad, but she would never ask her friend to turn down her dream job. No, she is mad that Miranda’s brother, Hank, is moving in. She has worked hard to maintain her anti-social existence, and Hank is the complete opposite. This girl is clueless about what’s coming her way….see Hank has always had a thing for her, and he is about tired of keeping those feelings secret.
Can I just say that I ABSOLUTELY ADORE Olive!!!! She is one of the most likeable and unique female lead characters I’ve had the pleasure to meet….and she owns that uniqueness which made me love her more. This woman has a Christmas tree in her room all year long! I would love that!!!! That’s not to say she doesn’t have insecurities like most women do, but she does not let those insecurities determine the direction of her life.
Hank is one of those guys you can’t help but love. Yeah, he’s pretty easy on the eyes, but he is much more than his looks. He loves Olive for who she is even if he thinks she needs to get out more, but he accepts that about her. He challenges Olive which she needs sometimes. And, who couldn’t love a guy who has a cat named Dog? Speaking of Dog, she was a character herself! I LOVED HER!!!
This wasn’t just a fantastic romantic comedy. It was about accepting who you are as a person and owning it. That is a lesson I think a lot of us could learn. This is my first book by Molly O’Hare, and I’m so thankful and excited that I found her. If you want a book that just brings a smile to your face and makes reality slip away for a bit, you can’t find a better book than Teased by Fire.

This was my first book by Molly O’Hare and I throughly enjoyed it. It’s a quick book but I thought it was a wonderful mix of laughter, sassiness, and lust/love.
The story follows Olive Quinn and Hank Parker. Olive is quirky, antisocial, and all around fantastic. I love that writing was her profession. It’s always fun to read about authors in books. I found Olive to be very relatable because of her quirky mind and her love of books. She had a horrible upbringing and God awful parents, but every thing she does is to prove how strong she really is. Hank is Olives best friends brother, and a hunky fireman. He’s been half in love with her for years but deemed her off limits until he was given an opportunity too good to pass up. He loves to harass her and get her riled up.
I loved the animal characters in this book. Dog starts off as the she-devil but then turns into Olives personal escort around the house. I thought it was neat to see how their relationship changed. I also loved the brief scene with Lord Waffles, I read it a few times because I found it so funny.
This won’t be my last read by Molly O’Hare. I’ll definitely be adding her other books to my TBR list.

Olive is in hell. Her best friend is moving out with only two days notice and told her brother about it. Now Olive is stuck with Hank the Tank as her roomie. Hank has been in love with Olive for a long time. Too afraid to make a move, he sees this opportunity as a sign to go after what he wants. Olive just wants to avoid him and any other human interaction at all costs. But Hank isn't called the Tank for nothing and before she knows it Olive is enjoying Hank and his company, just not the cat he brought with him! Will Olive be able to overcome the past and step into the future with Hank?

Someone get me the fire hose, Teased by Fire is scorching hot!! Molly O'Hare brings us sweet, saucy, and hot all in one book! Hank had my pulse thumping, while Olive had me laughing my butt off. No, seriously. Hank is a firefighter, yum, who has been in love with his little sister's best friend. He takes advantage of a situation and puts himself front and center into Olive's life. Olive is me. She hates people, she hates human interaction. She prefers her books. When an opportunity presents itself to do the dirty with hot Hank, she jumps in with both feet.
This is one book you don't want to miss out on! I love all of the humor that blends perfectly with the sweetness of the story. Then we get the heat ramped up and it turns Teased By Fire into a beautifully blended sweet, hot, and hilarious story! Hank will have you swooning, from his cute pranks to his devotion to Olive. Teased By Fire is a romantic comedy. Olive is super PO’d that her best friend and roommate has to move out and has her hot, firefighter brother her move in as soon as she leaves. (Not to mention he brings his huge Maine Coon cat named Dog) Hank has been in love with Olive for years and sees his sister leaving as his chance to make Olive his. A pretty funny story ensues with different pranks and how their personalities clash. On a more serious note it also shows how some familial relationships can really shape how a person perceived themselves along with their self worth.

Humour is kind of an individual thing. What I find funny, the next person may not. Or what they think is hilarious to them is not the least bit funny. I think this book is supposed to be funny but I’m not finding it so.
On top of that I do not really like the heroine. This is a grumpy sunshine romance where heroine is the grump and the hero the sunshine. I found her too miserable with not a lick of light. Therefore I DNF’d it at 55%.

Molly has got romcom books nailed! This is my second book I've read by her and she has me laughing hysterically. Olive and Hank are explosive yet real together. Ahh the pranks they play! Haha! They are my kind of couple. You can't go wrong reading this book.

Teased by Fire is the third standalone by Molly O'Hare and it's definitely one of the best. The book had my jaw hurting as I was smiling throughout the book and laughing out loud numerous times. I love Molly's characters and all the animals involved with them and this one was no different. I loved Hank and Olive and I am specially in love with Dog. She's the best. If you want to read a rom-com, this is definitely for you! I definitely recommend this book! Can't wait to read more of her works!♥️

Olive and Hank’s story is hilarious, fun and entertaining from the very beginning. This is a well written story, which is steamy and filled with many laugh-out-loud moments, and I was captivated throughout this addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author, and I highly recommend her work for all readers!

Olive knows how to get a reaction out of Hank, “I wouldn’t have forgotten you.” He placed his hand over his chest like he’d been shot. “Do you not have any faith in your man?” Olive is a saucy little thing, “oh, for effs sake, is this what I have to look forward to? A jealous Hank Parker is an annoying Hank Parker.” I liked this book, I really liked Olive and Hank.

Started skipping from chapter 5 till the end...
The blurb caught my attention as I can relate with the h being an antisocial . But upon reading the book, I found that the characters are just so childish and stupid. What kind of person creates those characters? Their childishness is too much it makes me cringe. I am not familiar with the author but whenever I think of who created this kind of characters needs to grow up and mature like literally now...
That being said... the writing style is good. How the scenes and story were told flows naturally and easy to visualise. But the sexy scenes were being skipped most of the time so another disappointment at that...
All in all not a good read. I just can’t stand how these kind of characters are created. There’s nothing entertaining in their banter and they’re just plain stupid.

Molly O'Hare has such a talented, addictive, and original writing style that she's already on my list of go to addictions. I never thought she would top Stumbling Into Him on the humor front, but I was completely wrong, as Teased by Fire had me spitting out my drink from laughing so hard. This story follows Olive, who is young woman who really doesn't like human interaction, as she stays locked up in her apartment writing erotic romance under a pen name. Her life is thrown into chaos when her best friend, basically the only person she will stay around as they're roommates, gets her dream job, and moves across the country, but as a last act while moving out, her bestie moves her hot brother, Hank the Tank, in the apartment, which sends Olive into panic mode. And that was so funny in itself, but wait for it, because it only gets funnier when a kitty named Dog moves in with him. Olive is terrified of Dog, and her terror had me laughing so hard that literal tears streamed out of my eyes. Just that situation was enough for 5 stars to be honest, but there's more. Hank has wanted Olive for years, but she's clueless, however while in close proximity, shooting sparks ignite into super sexy times that light the sheets on fire. It also hurts no woman when Hank's brothers at the Fire Department come over, so why is Olive so standoffish?! Well, Olive's parents are horrible people, who taught Olive that love doesn't exist, so there's that for big angst levels for real. Finally, when I'm just about done, a twist so shocking, had me unable to speak after that first f-bomb dropped, for a huge finale that I never saw coming before pure extreme emotion was left. I'm so in love with this author's work that I CANNOT WAIT for more, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I'm a sucker for sister/brother's best friend romance novels, so when I read the summary for this one, I was all in. The book was good, but not great.
Olive Quinn is a loner. She stays holed up in her apartment writing and doesn't really like human interaction. So when her best friend announces she's moving across the country and that her brother is moving in to help with the rent, Olive is pissed. Hank, the brother, has been giving Olive a hard time forever. What Olive doesn't realize, though, is Hank has had it bad for her for a long time.
Hank is a firefighter. This part of the story is under utilized. We don't spend a lot of time in the firehouse, but we get to know some of his buddies but not a lot of "fire action", which was a bummer. Hank is also known for being late, because he loses things - keys, phone, wallet.
One of the funnier storylines in this book revolves around Hank's cat, Dog. Olive and Dog don't have a great relationship from the start, and she's kind of afraid of Dog. It's really funny.
About the characters - I loved Hank. He was so sweet to Olive. Yes, in the beginning, he played pranks on her, but that made him endearing. Olive was pretty uptight throughout most of the book. She had a rough childhood, where she wasn't really loved and nurtured by her parents, and it made her believe love didn't exist.
This book was told in the third person - hearing this story from Olive's first person point of view could have changed the whole tone of the story. When you're reading in that person, it's harder to connect with the characters.
The story itself was good - I enjoyed it and would recommend. If there is another book in the series, I am likely to read it.
