A Storm Is Headed To Miami... And Titus Is The Target!
A wealthy New York City attorney on the payroll of a Mexican drug czar is found murdered—in exactly the manner Titus said he’d do it on a recording played on the Miami six o'clock news. Now Titus is wanted by a stack of three-letter government agencies, the Miami-Dade Police, and the notorious Quintana cartel.
But that’s the least of his problems.
Titus wakes up in a hospital bed in a strange mansion—heavily medicated, under guard, unable to walk, with no memory of what happened. As if things couldn’t get any worse, the door blasts open and his life takes another turn so bizarre that even he can’t believe his own eyes...
John D. Patten occasionally skipped class because he was glued to a Spenser mystery by Robert B. Parker. He would be late for jobs because he got caught up in a Travis McGee adventure by John D. MacDonald. He memorized sarcastic Philip Marlowe lines from detective stories by Raymond Chandler. Now, after all these years, he’s finally figured out maybe he should be writing hard-boiled thrillers of his own.
I Love this Titus guy and so will you Read it, and love Titus
I just finished three books of the Titus Florida crime thriller series, and I must say the main man in this whacky series is just what we need .I don't know who birthed him but this writer got it right....Titus meets every kind of idiot dirt-bag there is,and ends them with guns, fists, knives or anything laying around. And as crazy as he seems to be He is the Hero of all the "bad things, people do for money .he sleeps on park benches and other comfortable places but saved billions of dollars and not only for the good. Their is to much crazy going on in this to try to explain, just read them.I can't wait to read #4_____Let me,and everyone else ,what you think of my man Titus.
Titus is in rough shape, can not walk, is barely alive! He is extracted and rehabbed back into the walking, no non-sense Boston raised former COP. A long the way he is feed interesting data, believe it or not he does not know for sure. Assumptions are made that are worked through and the killer is brought out with and dealt in a fitting manner! Nice to know Sofia and Luther know he is not the killer and his rescuer Diego is all about help.
the Trilogy; Miami Burn, Miami Chill and Miami Storm. Next title may be Miami Trail!?
'Miami Storm' is quite short but it is packed full of red herrings - people who are dead never died, people who are alive are probably dead ... and Titus is on the run (or not!) while missing a chunk of his memory after being shot. The book, after a deliberately slow start races ahead at breakneck speed to reach a finish that finally pulls together many of the strands from the previous books in the series. Hardboiled, funny, sometimes manic, 'Miami Storm' is a fun read not to be taken too seriously. It's probably worth 3.5 Stars.
So we have a non licensed PI being chased by the local PD, FBI, various drug lords and evangelicals. What’s so difficult to grasp here? The Titus Trilogy has been a remarkable read with so many twists and turns really start to wonder where the story is going. But, the author does a masterful job tying this intriguing and, sometimes, confusing story into one fairly amazing storyline. If you like a story where you are perpetually trying to second guess the main character- have a read of these, they won’t disappoint.
Things look really bad for Titus in the beginning. Once again, the plot is a roller coaster ride of mayhem and adventure. The plot has many turns and surprises. I hated to finish this book so fast. It was a fun read. Book #4 will be out before the end of the year. I hope. I will buy it as soon as it is available. By this way, Miami Storm inspired me to finally learn Spanish.
Another Damsel in distress is Titus' next problem to solve! A fast action story, in Miami and other strange places. Has Titus bitten off more than he can handle. Personal things keep him struggling to figure out who, what, where and when all things will come together, with out his death being part of it all. Can hardly wait, for the next book!! Again, this should be a 10 Star read!! ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
The 3 books in this series are a great weekend binge escape. The series of adventures that lead the protagonist, Titus, on a journey to redemption. The plots are well thought out and contain unusual twists. The characters grow and evolve as the series progresses.
There are lots of good lines sprinkled throughout the dialogue. Here’s one of my favorites: People do what they do. Nothing you can do about it.
This book ics so full of mystery tbhat I lijterally could n't put put it down untill I read it alll the way to the end! I already plan ahead and purchased the next. i loved the writing style. Can't wait to read what comes next! Great story line😎
I bought the 3 books on sale - Never heard of the author. What a surprise !! Read them all in 3 days. I could not put them down. What a great, honest and sarcastically funny character...The author also surrounded Titus (the main character) with equally interesting supporting associates. Highly recommend !! Where is book 4 though??
I waited for months for this TITUS installment, and it surpassed my expections. It seems clear that Patten learned to write by emulating the greats like Raymond Chandler and the other hard-boiled masters.
I have read all three in the series and found myself with a smile of satisfaction at the end of each one. Titus is quite the character, read all of them for sure...won't disappoint. Will be waiting for the next one!
Mr. Patten delivers another fast and furious ride with Titus, the reluctant hero, despite constantly stepping in it. Looking forward to the next chapter in Titus' adventures.
Miami Storm, the third in the series, captured me from the beginning. So many twists and turns I couldn’t put it down. Now I’m waiting for the next in the series...
Mr Patten is one of the more talented writers in his realm right now. I had read the first two installments of this series. Both of which where great, this one was even better. So many twist and turns, I highly recommend.
John Patten has the ability to ho!d your attention through pages of action that you will not be ab!e to put down His character Titus is a man of distinction and many capabilities.
I enjoyed all three books immensely. Love the writing. Titus is certainly the smart ass and I love that about him. Lots of plot twists but easy to keep up.
Just finished reading the first 3 books in this series. Titus - what can I say - he is an awesome character. I highly recommend the series . When is book 4 coming out?
Miami Storm is an outstanding read. This is an exceptional book with many interesting twists and turns. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am looking for # 4.
A different starting point a mystery within a mystery. Lies and double layer lies. But this is Miami, pal, where you can't even tell the players without a program. All in all another solid entry for Titus and damn do I wish there was more of these books!
