Note: The decision was made to consolidate all Disney publications under the name Walt Disney Company. This profile is for Walt Disney, the characters he created, and the company he founded. Any questions, please ask in the Librarian's Group.
Walter Elias “Walt” Disney (December 5, 1901 – December 15, 1966) was an American film producer, director, screenwriter, voice actor, animator, entrepreneur, entertainer, international icon, and philanthropist. Disney is famous for his influence in the field of entertainment during the 20th century. As the co-founder (with his brother Roy O. Disney) of Walt Disney Productions, Disney became one of the best-known motion picture producers in the world. The corporation he co-founded, now known as The Walt Disney Company, today has annual revenues of approximately U.S. $35 billion.
Disney is particularly noted for being a film producer and a popular showman, as well as an innovator in animation and theme park design. He and his staff created some of the world's most famous fictional characters including Mickey Mouse, a character for which Disney himself was the original voice. He has been awarded four honorary Academy Awards and has won twenty-two competitive Academy Awards out of fifty-nine nominations, including a record four in one year, giving him more awards and nominations than any other individual. He also won seven Emmy Awards. He is the namesake for Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort theme parks in the United States, as well as the international resorts Tokyo Disney, Disneyland Paris, and Disneyland Hong Kong.
Disney died of lung cancer in Burbank, California, on December 15, 1966. The following year, construction began on Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. His brother Roy Disney inaugurated the Magic Kingdom on October 1, 1971.
The Walt Disney Company (NYSE: DIS) (commonly referred to as Disney) is the largest media and entertainment conglomerate in the world in terms of revenue. Founded on October 16, 1923, by brothers Walt Disney and Roy Disney as the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio, the company was reincorporated as Walt Disney Productions in 1929. Walt Disney Productions established itself as a leader in the American animation industry before diversifying into live-action film production, television, and travel. Taking on its current name in 1986, The Walt Disney Company expanded its existing operations and also started divisions focused upon theatre, radio, publishing, and online media. In addition, it has created new divisions of the company in order to market more mature content than it typically associates with its flagship family-oriented brands.
The company is best known for the products of its film studio, the Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group, today one of the largest and best-known studios in Hollywood. Disney also owns and operates the ABC broadcast television network; cable television networks such as Disney Channel, ESPN, and ABC Family; publishing, merchandising, and theatre divisions; and owns and licenses 11 theme parks around the world. On January 23, 2006, it was announced that Disney would purchase Pixar in an all-stock transaction worth $7.4 billion. The deal was finalized on May 5. On December 31, 2009, Disney Company acquired the Marvel Entertainment, Inc. for $4.24 billion. The company has been a component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average since May 6, 1991. An early and well-known cartoon creation of the company, Mickey Mouse, is the official mascot of The Walt Disney Company.
I love that this collection of Frozen stories has the classic disney format with lots of colorful illustrations. It reminds me of some of my old books from childhood. The stories are short, sweet, and perfect for bedtime. If you have a child who loves Frozen, this is one worth picking up.
The first story--an adaptation of the movie--fell a bit flat, but the other stories from the Frozen "expanded universe" were cute and fun. Fans of the original film and its characters will likely enjoy this.
My daughter loves all things Frozen, still, so we loved this. It was especially fun bc now that she's really learning to read, I let her ready as much of parts of the pages as she could and she did a great job.
A gorgeous set of short stories featuring Anna, Elsa, Hans, Sven and everyone's favourite snowman, Olaf. These stories were such fun and a delight to read & the illustrations are oh so precious :)
Benjamin is going through a Frozen phase, so this has been good bedtime story compilation for him. I liked the world building - there’s more on the troll culture, the castle staff, even the other nations in the world. We’re getting sick of Frozen because toddlers like to watch things over and over again, but at least it’s a good film with great music.
My 4 year old daughter absolutely loved this! I love how it even covered the two movies in summary. Perfect for over a week of bedtime stories! Definitely going to look into other story books like this.
If, like me, you are a fan of the Frozen franchise, then this collection of Frozen short stories might be of interest to you, but don't expect anything all that great. There are twelve stories featured, with ten of them original as the first is an adaptation of the Frozen movie and the second is an adaptation of the Frozen II movie, and I really only found a couple of them interesting. "The Ice Games," "The Ghost of Arendelle," and "Snow-and-Tell" are my favorites, but most of them don't have much of a conflict or much substance to them. While I understand that they are stories intended for young children (considering that this is essentially a picture book with relatively simple and easy to read stories), that should maybe make it even more important for there to be morals and lessons to take away, but, as I said, most of the stories end up not amounting to anything. The art is gorgeous, although it's really annoying how the attire doesn't always make sense. One of the stories featured, for example, is titled "Olaf's Perfect Summer Day," and I had actually already read this one several years ago as its own individual book, and it grinds my gears how most everyone is wearing warm clothes with more than one layer even though the text says that it's a very hot summer day. As I said, don't expect much substance, but if you're a fan of the Frozen franchise and want to soak up everything that you can, then go for it.
Like almost every other little girl out there my daughter is nearly (if not completely) obsessed with all things Frozen. Combine that with her love for reading and we get this book.
It didn`t take us long to work our way through these pages, often reading three or four in one night (though she would want to read more). There were several stories, each one different and equally entertaining. Going back to when Anna and Elsa were little girls, and learning more about the trolls was fun for my daughter.
This was not our first experience with the 5 Minute Stories, and it won`t be our last. The illustrations were lovely and caught my 4 year old`s attention perfectly.
This book was cute but it definitely could have been better. The first story was a summary of the movie and it was amazing! Everything after that wasn't as great. I love Frozen but these stories did not stand up to the standards set by the movie. Some of the stories I'd read before in other books but in this one they were shortened and much choppier. All of the stories in the book were kind of choppy except for the first one. The characters were ok but didn't always match up exactly with the movie. The pictures were wonderful through. Overall the book was ok and a pretty quick read but there are much better books out there that can be read.
This collection of short stories featuring characters from the move Frozen retells the movie plot in the first story and then tells further adventures of Anna and Elsa from their childhood and after the movie ends. If parents can convince their children to limit reading to a few, then this could be a nice choice for bedtime reading for Frozen fans. Sturdy binding and a large trim size make this one more suitable for library circulation than many other easy Frozen themed books. Recommended .
There is some duplications between this and the newer Frozen 5-Minute Stories collection that also includes the Frozen 2 adaptation. At one time, this was a favorite of my daughter's especially, though not as much as she's grown. Stories in this collection include:
Frozen A Royal Sleepover Childhood Times The Frozen Monster Elsa's Gift A New Friend Olaf's Birthday Babysitting the Troll Tots The Ice Games Across the Sea The Midsummer Parade Olaf's Perfect Summer Day

I love this book. I especially love the drawings. I have just two complaints. Some of the stories are out of chronological order. One example is that a story based on the movie is followed by a story about the girls as children. An even stranger example is that a story about midsummer is followed by a story about summer just beginning. In addition, "Frozen Fever" is not included. I hope to see it in a future compilation.
A collection of delightful short-stories centered around the primary cast of Disney's Frozen. The book includes summarized retellings of Frozen and Frozen 2, the later done in such a way that it doesn't spoil too much of the film for those who haven't seen it just yet.
The illustrations in this collection are consistent and simply beautiful to look at. This is a great collection of quick bedtime stories or just for the Frozen fan in your life.
The stories in this collection cover both of the current movies and a few other shorts, some that can be found in other books and collections. For anyone who enjoys the Frozen series, it's a cute collection to add to the library. Stories included are:
Frozen Family Matters Olaf's Perfect Summer Day The Ice Games Little Brothers! Troll Trek Olaf Waits for Spring Across the Sea The Ghost of Arendelle Snow-and-Tell Frozen 2

My kids love all things Frozen, so this is a hit in our house. The illustrations are cute, if corporate. The stories feel like they were written by ChatGPT; none of them are particularly interesting or memorable. This collection is good for a bedtime story every night until you finish the book. One nice thing about the book it is written for kids slightly older than mine, so my daughter has been asking me to define some of the harder vocabulary words in the book for her.
My 4-year old daughter loves the movie and everything to do with it. The stories could literally be about Elsa, Anna & the rest of the gang sitting around talking about the weather and she'd love it.
Having said that, the tales in the book are really nice & do further explore the characters relationships in short little bits.
Really cute collection of Frozen stories. Great for fans of the movie and Disney in general. They were focused on different beloved characters and my son really enjoyed this as our bedtime reading.
I loved this book! The stories were very cute and so were the illustrations. I was very happy reading all of the stories. I loved the world building but I wish there was a map of Arendelle and it's neighboring kingdoms!
My three year old thoroughly enjoyed the illustrations; however, the actual storylines were way above her head. I recommend this book for slightly older children, if you buy it for younger they will just want it for the photos.
This is the final Christmas book I bought for my niece this year, and it is filled with many great and quick to read stories, so I hope it is a book that she enjoys listening to (and later reading herself).
I was surprised at the humor and good vocabulary in each story. There is a story about the second movie at the end of the book in case you want to gauge your child's interest in the movie. My daughter requested to read this book every night.
This has a lower rating cause there was a huge lack of Kristoff. But I did like the story when Anna and elsa were kids. But it seemed like there was like, 2 stories he was in, and a few where he was mentioned. (When they were shaming him for his snoring.)
My 4 year old grandson and I just finished this 'riveting' piece of literature. He found the stories entertaining and very interesting. For a guy who has a hard time sitting still getting through 5minutes stories is a major achievement. He loved the tales, every one.
Tässä on joitain samoja satuja kun aiemmassa (vuoden 2015) kokoelmassa, mikä on tietysti vähän harmi. Kuvitus on paikoin tosi kaunista, varsinkin viimeisessä Frozen 2 sadussa. Toimii Frozen faneille, hyvä lahjaidea vaikka jouluksi. Suomennettu 2020.
