If there’s a trophy for every time one loved the wrong person, Tatiana Rivers and Damien Romano would have a full case of it.
Growing up, Tatiana has always believed in fairy tales. But she soon learns that relationships actually take more effort than riding off into the sunset. She would know. She just broke up from a toxic three-year relationship.
Damien, on the other hand, has always loved the idea of a family. But after he was tricked by a gold digger into marrying her, who could blame him for his newfound fear of commitments?
Now they sit next to each other, watching as their loved ones—Tatiana’s best friend and Damien’s brother—get happily married. They couldn’t be happier for the newlyweds and lonelier for themselves. Both turn to each other and share an understanding for the need of a respite.
What began as a spontaneous hookup now ends up as a secret no-strings agreement between them.
But as they heat up each other’s nights, Tatiana develops the one thing she shouldn’t in their affair—feelings for Damien. Is she prepared to risk everything for a commitment Damien doesn’t want?
More than just a story of romance, Enchanted lets us experience the power of friendship, learn the sweet liberation from a traumatic experience, and open to the possibility of love even after one’s heart has been shattered to shards.
I love to paint, write stories and poems, and READDDDD!!! I’m a feminist (kinda) and I hate it when cute little girls are pushed around and get hurt by the bad boys and the players, so I try to get back at ’em… through my stories. I like to read a lot of stuff, but they are almost all supernatural. Vampires, lycans, zombies… you name it. Just… not the kind of zombies that fall apart. *yuck*
Okay so I read this book randomly, I don't even know how I came across the title and it was at goodwill so I bought it for pretty cheap.
Now I don't hate it... It's just too short for my liking.
It's like one of those books a middle schooler would write (you know, like first book material).
It is pretty cliche.... Like way too cliche.
But it's super short.
Did I mention how short it is?
Okay, now that I've made myself clear enough, let's proceed to the actual review.
Tatiana is a nice girl, I mean for the most part.
And I like Damien too, against my better judgement.
But the story in itself is really nothing special.
Tatiana and Damien hook up at a wedding (specifically Tatiana's bff and his brother's) and then decide they want a no strings because they couldn't get enough from only one hook up.
Now as usual, they start to develop feelings for each other but Damien has lot of emotional baggage from his last marriage (and ex wife). I mean so does Tatiana, but she falls for him anyway.
Now cue her psychotic abusive ex boyfriend who's not only stalked her to freaking Hawaii but also tortured her and almost killed her.
Now after Damien's heroic rescue, Tatiana's taken to the hospital and finds out she's pregnant.
Yay! She and her best friends all find out they're pregnant at the same time.
Damien realises how stupid he'd been to let go of her just because of his fears after he saw her almost die in his arms.
They get together again like her best friends.
Happily ever after.
Now like I said, I don't hate it. It's okayish.
But the thing is, it's tooo predictable and it's so short that I didn't see my MCs develop feelings for each other at all.
Moreover different pov's from the other characters was too messy imo.
I mean they have their own books so why so many random pov's in one book?
I haven't read the other couples' books and I don't think I will either, since this one pretty much explains their stories too plus we have an epilogue with everyone.
One thing I do like is the way the girls are close. Some parts again felt meh, but overall it wasn't all that bad.
I wouldn't go gaga and recommend it to everyone I see, but if you do read it, fine.
It's not horrible so maybe give it a shot.
That was Enchanted: A steamy Romance by Anna Kendra. Peace xx
