Let's just cut right to the chase: this is nowhere near as strong as its predecessor. The joke is weak, the story is juvenile, and I didn't really care what happened to the dinosaurs. The whole thing with King Tut reading comic books and the aliens building the pyramids and busting the god-impersonating dinosaurs with a stack of Polaroids is just silly.

I wouldn't recommend this. Readers who loved the first book might want to check this one out, but I'd recommend just sticking with T. Rex Time Machine if you're looking for a book that'll give you a few giggles.

Zanny silliness and quirky fun make these dinosaurs a pair to love and laugh with as the zip to Egypt and rub elbows with a Tut, which might not be so historically correct.

The two dinosaurs have landed with their time machine in Egypt. They're a bit confused, to say the least, but they meet Tut, who quickly informs them they are actually gods of the Nile and authors of his favorite comics. He takes them on his ship to show them more of Egypt and soon run into strange creatures...aliens. And that's when things start souring up.

Do not expect anything serious in these pages, and that's exactly what my son loved about it. These dinosaurs talk, are intelligent, and step from one quirky problem into the next. While there is a touch of history...kind of...the Sphinx and other buildings take on new meaning. And Egyptian life is not what you expect. The addition of aliens definitely caused an eyebrow raise, but hey, everything is possible, I guess. It's brings giggles and snorts and will need to be read more than once. And for those who are ready and willing, it's part of an entire series (this book being the second), which promises tons of silly fun.

I received a complimentary copy and while I furrowed my forehead at some moments, my son laughed out loud. So, I'm leaving my (and more of his) honest thoughts.

The second book in the series about two T. Rex dinosaurs who use their diamond-shaped time travel machine - this time to Ancient Egypt, where they are mistaken for the Pharaoh Tut's favorite comic book heroes. Zany fun!

Another fun outing with these two dinos. Conversation is told in GN-style bubbles. Bonus: The inside of the book jacket is a giant poster of the Egyptian comic book character. Also, the last illustration and back endsheets are a clue about the topic of the next book...where X marks the spot!

"The illustrations for this book were originally done with ink ofn papyrus. It was a big hassle. Luckily, an alien on his lunch break saw the author struggling and suggested recreating everything digitally in Photoshop. Alien technology sometimes gets a bad rap, but in this case, it worked out really well. The aliens refused to give the author a ride in their spaceship, thus ending their working relationship."

An Egyptian Pharaoh provides a warm welcome to two renegade dinosaurs who seem to have jumped from the firing pan into the fire through their time machine. Although the ruler is friendly and accommodating, he thinks that one or both of them is Sobek, god of the Nile and the subject of his favorite comic book series. The two dinosaurs are feted and treated like gods until aliens arrive on the scene and reveal their true identity. Needless to say, Tut is not amused. Although this is all quite silly, it's fun and entertaining to watch the dinosaurs dealing with unfamiliar surroundings and situations and then chart their course via technology to what is likely to be an even messier situation. The colorful digital illustrations are sure to amuse readers who will want to pay close attention to their contents. Perhaps one of the messages here is: Never disappoint a rabid fan.

Dinosaurs are still alive! Well at least these two are and they have traveled through time and crash landed in Egypt.

Making new friends and running into old ones, these two dino friends have quite the adventure. When the truth is exposed and the Pharaoh becomes angry will they be able to escape before being locked up forever?

A fun and quirky story that will leave in a fit of giggles and anxious to see where these time-traveling T. Rexes end up next!

I'm so happy to see a follow-up to one of my favorites, the original 'T. Rex Time Machine.' Though this one wasn't quite as sharp and hilarious as its predecessor, I'd like to see more in this series because I think it gets kids hooked on history / the concept of time travel in a fun, age-appropriate, accessible, and humorous way. I'll continue recommending these to my readers!

Weird? Funny? Not sure I like it as much as the other one(s). I read one of the others to kindergarteners and they didn't get it, so though it looks like a lower level book, it might only be comprehended by people who know about King Tut and pyramids and such.

Minus the "millions of years" comment, this book was kind of funny. I like when present day objects are mentioned nonchalantly in historical fiction, like the comic books. Also the piranhas on the one dinosaur's feet were funny.

Two time traveling T. Rexes crash their ship in ancient Egypt, and one of them is mistaken for the river deity Sobek by Pharaoh Tut, and events only get zanier from this point.

Talk about a book with conspiracy theories. Aliens building the pyramids, dinosaurs, etc. Overall, didn't like it or love it.

A bit long for a toddler and too many of the jokes are for the parents reading the book.
