This isn't how I saw my life going. It's not what was supposed to happen and damn it, I want to live my dreams!

As if.

Every day it becomes clearer that I'm going to be the Mary Poppins of Tajss. I do love helping with all my friends' half-Zmaj, half-human babies but it also fuels the empty ache of wanting one of my own to hold and raise.

None of the human men that survived hold my interest and there aren't any of the Adonis-like, seven foot winged and scaled alien dragons unspoken for, leaving me destined for a life without that heart-stopping, throat-clenching, breath-taking love that I desire.

Then he shows up. Strange, mysterious, and so damn big and sexy. An unknown Zmaj.

The golden-eyed dragon warrior is not welcomed with open arms but my heart knows what it wants and he's it. Now I have to figure out how to make it work without losing all my friends along the way.

For anyone who likes Ruby Dixon's Ice Planet series, I highly recommend this one. It's giving me the hunky space aliens along with a progressive, action plot that keeps getting better. She keeps quite a few of the past characters recycling back into the storyline, which I also like. It's clear that this isn't over yet, so there is a lot to keep you reading. Bonus: The series is on Kindle Unlimited!

I was super scared when we saw the last available Zmaj sex god get claimed in the last book. Was it the end of the Zmaj-human love stories???? I went into panic mode until I realized Miranda was working on book #14! THANK goodness!!!

I didn’t think it was possible but Miranda has upped the ante. In this most recent installment of the series, we meet Archion, a mystery Zmaj who is not only a newcomer but also a highly skilled one. His first encounter with the Tribe takes place when he is evading the so-called Invaders (aliens who have been wrecking havoc on the Zmaj-human mini-society) and follows his intuition to pursue a specific kind of energy that feels 'female'. Of course he is shocked because he has not seen or felt a female on Tajss in like forever. His intuition serves him well because not only does he come across fellow Zmajs, but also human females. Almost immediately he feels drawn to Nora, and the magnetic pull is most certainly mutual! But Archion has his secrets and due to the loyalty he feels to his people, he holds his secrets dear, causing suspicion among the Tribe. Nora finds herself battling between giving herself completely over to a stranger who feels more like her mate than any of the Zmaj she has been living with for the past years. But she is conflicted between listening to her heart and heeding the obvious signs: Archion will not reveal his secrets and thus continue to be a mystery/threat to the Tribe. Can these two destined mates overcome suspicion and turmoil or will they be separated by secrets? You MUST read to find out!

Honestly. My oblivious self should have known better than to pick a book in a series with a continuous plot. I would have definitely enjoyed this book better if I had read it from the first book.

Regardless of that, I did enjoy my reading to an extent. I liked both the Hero and heroine and steamy scenes were A+.

I would definitely revisit this book again once I have caught up with everything. Yes, I am planning to read the first book! So, later!

Nora turned away from the approaching Zmaj rather than have to interact with them. The threat of the invaders has stressed them and they were on edge. Nora was caring for 3 of the dragonlings while their parents were on patrol. It makes her long for her own such children, but none of the dragons ever paid her any attention. She was always too shy and tried to be invisible. Now there were no more available Zmaj left. All had mated with one of the women survivors.

After the story Nora tells the children, she lies down next to Zoe who is still wide awake. Zoe turns Nora’s face to look into her eyes, and suddenly Nora sees a gorgeous Zmaj she has never seen before. He is extremely attractive and powerful. Moments later, his image disappears and she is again staring into Zoe’s eyes. She recalls rumors that a few of the couples were developing weird telepathic connections that may somehow be linked to the dragon babies. Could that be what just happened? Zoe fell asleep and Nora got a notebook from Penelope and began to sketch the man whose image she had seen.

Nora and Delilah play a board game, then go off to sleep. Immediately Nora dreams, seeing a small figure below her walking across the sand. And she hears the children chanting, "The Enforcer is coming to free us all." What does that mean? The dream feels like a strange message.

Archion fights against the wind as he carries a scroll across the desert to return it to the Order. He hears a sound and quietly looks over the next dune to see a camp of invaders. He covers with sand to keep watching them until dark; but one on patrol steps directly onto his leg and stumbles. He kills it, but the camp surges toward him and he must escape so they don’t get the scroll. Outrunning them, he senses movement nearby and a Cherepakh attacks him. He is able to blind it, but he is wounded from the sharp teeth. Now the dangerous animal listens to locate Archion’s position, but he moves quickly to disorient it. The battle continues until he is able to pierce its brain, cut off a small portion of meat to sustain him for a few days, and continue his mission. However, his instincts this time urges him in another direction and he follows it. Searching within for why, he senses an energy implying females – but he has not seen a female in a very long time.

Nora is picked up meteorite glass with the others. They are moving farther away and farther apart. She starts feeling anxious, as if danger is approaching. Much later, she hears Zoe shout DUCK! She sees nothing, but heeds the warning in her head and yells to the team to duck down, right before the Invaders shoot their deadly weapons. If they had not ducked down, they would have been killed! As their 3 Zmaj form a protective shield for the woman, Nora sees movement to the right and the Zmaj she dreamed about is standing on top of the dune! The battle starts, and although their warriors are good, the stranger is even better skilled! The Zmaj destroy these Invaders, but Archion feels their distrust toward him; but the Order containing the highest skilled dragons in the land, swore him to secrecy. Each hidden group of the Order carries a piece of a puzzle they have been charged to protect by the planet’s consciousness. He could not tell them anything. But the warriors knew that without him, they may not have won this fight. Then, as another creature comes up from the sand, Archion shouts a warning and fights it. The other Zmaj join him as he kills the creature. Nora begins to notice that the other Zmaj are warming to him now, beginning to trust him. How will this amazing Zmaj fit into her life? Is she his? What is his mission with the scroll about? And will he become a part of their tribe or return to the Order?

This was a really good book in the series! It seemed that the author went into much more detail, such as with Archion’s fight scene with the beast. That makes it much more realistic, almost like the reader is right there watching the action! She also is very good at bringing out the characters to the reader so that despite all of the people in a scene, the reader knows each one. The whole series is awesome, but this book really drew me in and maintained the excitement all the way through.

Dragon’s Secret takes you further up and further into Martin’s fascinating world of Tajss. This book, the 14th in Martin’s Red Planet Dragons of Tajss series, enriches her ongoing saga by giving us Archion, a zmaj warrior of the Order. And while we learn about Archion’s view of the Order’s sense of honor and duty, and while we see his extraordinary fighting skills, we don’t actually learn that much about the Order itself. Such is Martin’s ability to slowly build out this world of Tajss that this works quite nicely in Dragon’s Secret.

Archion and his heroine, Nora, are two of the most likable characters in Martin’s series. Archion is a walking definition of nobility, and he’s nicely balanced by Nora, who is shy, reticent, a nurturer, and a mother figure. She doesn’t need the limelight or attract attention the way Archion does. So these two are opposites, but they aren’t opposing, which is the stereotype in much of romance. Seeing their appeal to one another, immediate and inevitably undeniable, makes for a lovely romance.

The danger and continuing challenge for the humans and zmaj on Tajss remains the unknown invaders and the means of defense against them. In this sense, the story doesn’t advance that far; instead, this book serves to establish the Order and build reasons to bring them further into the fold of the city and the Tribe. I’m really curious to see what the Order will add to our knowledge of the catastrophe that hit the zmaj in the past, and what their true mission is (things that are only hinted at in this book—in this sense, the title is truly apt!).

The only drawback that I saw in Dragon’s Secret is that Archion spends much of the first part of the book working on a hidden mission that suddenly fades into the background once he decides Nora is his mate. I would have like to have seen a few paragraphs about the effect of his choice on his unspoken goal.

This isn’t a great book to start for reading this series—you truly need to understand the relationship between the city and the Tribe that’s been built up to enjoy all the details in this book. But it’s not the worst choice for this either, as Archion has to learn about the Tribe. Nonetheless, this is one of the strongest entries in Martin’s series, and definitely recommended.

Last woman standing

OK, fans of all things Zmaj, it's time to face the truth. There are NO female Zmaj. Those daring and devoted dragon men - all that are left - have been fortunate in that the spaceship of humans who crashed there years back brought human females - viable, fertile, species compatible - and the Zmaj/human hybrid civilization has a chance to live on. All the Zmaj have mates, and some have children! But human Nora is the last female left - and there is no mate for her. No mate for the woman who so loves children, whose ambition was to have a family... Nora has always been the wallflower type, taying in the background, keeping quiet, doing the tasks she was given without complaint. That's exactly what she was doing when predators attack her glass-harvesting party, and someone comes to her rescue - A NEW ZMAJ!!! Beautiful, dutiful, magnificently skilled warrior Archion - but wait a minute. Where did he come from? Who is he loyal to? What brought him to the Tribe? HIs reticence in the face of the Tribe elders questions turns gratitude to suspicion for all but Nora,. who instinctively gravitates to Archion. Archion recognizes Nora as his mate - a joy he never expected to know - and a big spanner in the works for the big golden Zmaj. Can Nora keep her mate? Can the Tribe trust Archion? Where are his Zmaj comrades hiding? The apple cart is upset and apples are rolling - grab Dragon's Secret and a bushel basket, gather all the newest clues to the ever-evolving mysteries of the Red Planet. The romance is slow-burn hot, the plot thickens and bubbles with new energy, and Miranda Martin's world of the desert planet Tajss is ever more complex fascinating, and alive. I thank Booksprout for the ARC, and I thank the author for sharing this incredible Sci-fi romance saga with all of us. My review is, as always, voluntary, independent and uncompensated. Dragon's Secret is TOTALLY AWESOME.

This was a wonderful addition to the series….
Miranda had managed to bring another wonderful book out of her bottomless bag of wonderful stories, in this we meet Archion a mystery Zmaj who is not just a newcomer but is also extremely clever.
After his initial meeting with the tribe he has been evading the aliens that have been wreaking chaos on the Zmaj and human living together in a village and even though he is at a total loss as to what the females are actually doing on the planet of Tjass.
With his abilities he finds himself drawn to the female Nora and it is more than apparent that the pull is reciprocated, however Archion carries a secret which he feels is most important, this is causing the tribe to view him with a certain amount of suspicion as they do not completely understand his actions. Nora is facing a difficult decision as well because she is drawn to the stranger however should she follow her heart she is aware that it could cause her to lose some of her friends, those that she has grown close to since they have all been together over the last year.
Can these two mates overcome their problems and settle down together, Archion guards his secret closely and Nora must decide if she loves him enough to settle with some of their unresolved differences.
I voluntarily received and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

Nora helps her friends take care of their half human/Zmaj babies which she loves doing but she thought she would have babies of her own one day. That is hard to consider now since the handsome Zmaj all have mates and she isn't interested in any of the human males she interacted with on the ship. The chances of her having a mate and babies seems very remote.

Archion is a Warrior in The Order holding sacred secrets he is sworn to protect. While traveling he comes upon Zmaj and human women and helps defeat their enemies. Immediately he knows the shy, understated, always hiding in the background woman is his mate. But the cave and city tribes do not know this Zmaj and the big question is...….friend or foe?

Archion is dream worthy, strange, mysterious and super hot. Nora feels the draw to him and wants to trust him but he is an unknown Zmaj. She has to tread carefully to make sure she doesn't lose all her friends to gain him as a mate.

I really liked the addition of a new Zmaj to the series and how it points in the direction of the other books that Tjass is more than just a planet, that there is something influencing the happenings there. Can't wait to read the next one!

The author breathes new life into this series with the introduction of a new Zmaj warrior from another part of the planet. A highly trained warrior tasked by his people, referred to as the Order, to carry an important scroll to another sect of the Order. While crossing the desert, Archion encounters Nora and a party of her comrades who are gathering meteorite glass. He helps them in fighting off some enemy invaders as well as a few desert monsters, and is welcomed to the caves to take shelter. His mutual attraction to Nora ensures that he will not be leaving anytime soon. But Archion's reluctance to give out any info about his people and his mission causes trouble with the nosy Elders. Going to the city to talk with the tribal commander Visidion is the only way to solve Archion's need for an alliance between the Order and the Tribe. I love where the storyline is headed. Good job!

Dragon's Secret is book 14 of the Red Planet Dragons of Tajss series. This is the first book in this series I've read and it will not be the last. The author, Miranda Martin, has provided enough of the backstory that you are not lost and can enjoy this story on its own merits. The storyline and characters in this book have guaranteed that I will be starting with Book 1 and reading all the preceding ones to fully be able to understand what has come before. Miranda has created an exceptional book with her story telling ability that draws you into the story and experiencing the feelings that Archion and Nora have for each other, the ups and downs experienced, the action, the suspicion of the tribe which keep you turning pages until the last page. I highly recommend Dragon's Secret and I know you will want to read the complete series as I do. Received a copy from Booksprout and this is my voluntary and honest review.

New possible mates for the human women are discovered

This is Nora and Archion's story.
Archion is a member of a secret order of Zmaj. He is out on a mission when he feels a pull in a certain direction. This direction leads him to a group of Zmaj and alien females. There is a certain female that he is instantly attracted to. He agrees to go back to the Tribe caves with them in order to spy n them and get information while not revealing anything pertinent about himself or his group.
Nora has received a vision of a strangely attractive Zmaj that she has never met. When he happens upon a group of the gathering meteor glass and helps them fight Invaders she begins to believe he is meant for her.
I didn't enjoy this one as much as I have previous stories. The was plenty of action but I just didn't get sucked in as usual. This may just be me and I urge you to have it a try yourself as the book seems to be the turning point to begin a new direction.

fantastic series!

This book introduces some new elements and a new Zmaj! Archion was on a mission when he stumbled upon a group from the Tribe collecting meteor glass as they were being attacked by Invaders. He was instrumental in the group returning home after several incidents, including wildlife and invaders, so they welcomed him. Still they were wary of one another. Both the Tribe and Archion with interests to protect and secrets to keep. One of the children gives Nora a vision of Archion just before he arrives. Though she wonders about the secrets he keeps she feels a connection to him, just as he quickly realizes she is his treasure. Of course Tajss itself seems to conspire to isolate them from everyone else when they’re trapped by a sandstorm in a cave alone together for several days, by the end of that they have no doubt they’re meant for each other. But They both still need to advocate for one another with the tribe and Archion’s mysterious group, The Order.

Nora is the only single female but there is no male for her until the mysterious Archion appears.
Nora is the last single female in the group but there is no male Zmaj for her to mate with and as she watches the hatchlings she feels she will never have one of her own. Then as the group collect meteorite glass they are attacked by the invaders and suddenly an unknown Zmaj warrior appears to help defeat the invaders. Archion goes back with them to the settlement but Nora is unable to stop looking at him. Archion is a member of the Order but is sworn to secrecy and is taking an old scroll back to them but changes course when he smells females but Zmaj females disappeared completely long ago. When he sees the strange females he finds one riveting. An alien romance to relax and enjoy.

Well written with extensive descriptions.
by sewsummore

When a group of human woman crash land on a desert planet they are saved by males of that planet and eventually mate and produce hybrid children. Nora is the last of the women find a mate and as all the men have been mated has resigned herself to being alone. A stranger crosses the desert on a mission for a secret order. He is well built and an expert warrior and finds Nora a distraction that he cannot resist. This story is part of a series and ends on a mild cliff hanger. Despite this, I found the story easy to follow. well written with extensive descriptions of the characters and their lives on the planet.

Nora seems to be the woman stuck without a Zmaj mate (they are all taken) and so she is the one who cares for many of the half-human and half-Zmaj children that are around. Life looks pretty bleak until an unknown Zmaj turns up. He wasn't welcomed in with open arms but her heart knows what it wants and it's him. Can she figure out how to make it work between them so that she doesn't lose all of her friends along the way?

I enjoyed this story which was a nice addition to the standard Zmaj stories by introducing a new player and the potential for even more of them in the future. I liked that Archion was very in touch with the planet and that he helped them as he got to know them more. I loved that Nora was so much stronger than she and the rest of the humans probably realised. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Best read as part of a series
If you have read any of this series you are going to love this book. It takes you on yet another journey just when you may have been feeling that it was becoming predictable Can you read it if you haven't read any of the others ? Yes, it wont make as much sense but it is still a good alien romance and you can still enjoy it and the almost cliff hanger at the end. I cant wait to find out what is going on with the mysterious new " order " and if they are all as strong, selfless and heroic as the hero of this book then we are in for a wild read

A Wonderful Series 🤩

I have enjoyed this series of books immensely and am intrigued by the turn of events thus far. While previous books have concentrated on survival and settling in on the Red Planet, this book has continued to build on the mystery of the planet. It is very exciting to see more characters joining the series in the future.
I still want to know if any human children survived the crash, since that has not been revealed yet.
Also, what are the women doing for new clothes?? It doesn’t seem like they are wearing animal skins (embracing their inner Wilma Flintstone?), and yet we know clothes wear out! Hmm... 🤔
Just a few things I have pondered while enjoying these wonderful books.

I love the new elements that have been added to the world-building with this story. Miranda Martin manages to make each story in this world distinct and continually add new elements to keep the stories fresh without overwhelming the world-building she's developed.

I wasn't a huge fan of either of the MCs. There was nothing really wrong with either Nora or Archion, but they just didn't resonate with me. I wish we had gotten a bit more about Archion's background (lots of hints and obviously setup for future stories, but I wanted a bit more in this story). Still there is a good flow to the story and I'm interested to see where the new elements are going to take the story in future books.

Even though this is my first time reading a book in this series, I really enjoyed reading this story. This is the most "magical" dragon shifter I have ever read about. I like him because he is not arrogant about his abilities, I would have liked a little more insight in regards to his secret though. I didn't like the way the tribe treated him at all, that may be the norm for the series but it rubbed me the wrong way. He is very smart, patient and adventurous, their chemistry is very well written and I think Nora needs to and can be much more than Mary Poppins and hope her character will grow as the series progresses. Another fantastic addition to the Red Planet Dragons of Tajss and this is book 14 wow book 14 this series is going on for forever but hey I love this series so I hope Miranda Martin hasn’t finished yet. Nora is single she wants a family of her own and none of the human men or the Zmaj alien warrior dragons interest her at all, that’s until a stranger turns up a golden eyed Zmaj warrior but he has secrets and everyone is suspicious of him. But Nora knows her heart and she knows what she wants and it’s this golden eyed warrior but will it be at the expense of losing her friends?. This is a fantastic story and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

After the last book it looked like we were out of "dragons" but we still had single women. Alas, our worries were for naught. Ms.Martin just introduced a new set of "dragons"- The Order. Their training tactics make them seem like the Tajass version of SEALs or Special Forces. Yum! The first one to be introduced is Archion whom Zoe, and her woo-woo powers, show Nora in a vision. Although Archion tries to fight his attraction to Nora, Tajass and Mother Nature have another plan. At the end of the book we get a brief look at the next "dragon". Wonder who the lucky girl will be?

A new group of Zmaj is making itself known with this story they are called the Order a secret group that keeps to itself. Archion is on a mission when something calls to his senses he must check and see what it is. Imagine his surprise when he sees a group of Zmaj with Human women the Order does not have this. He helps protect this group and in doing so he meets Nora who is his mate. These two will have a lot to go through before they can be together. The end had a blurb for the next book and I know I want to read it. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

While this book can be read as a stand alone, it is a better and richer experience in the context of other books in the series. I have read one other book in this series and I was sort of lost but this one, now that I have some context, was a more fulfilling read. It is the story of Nora (I love that she sees herself as the Mary Poppins of Tajss) and the mysterious and compelling Archion. It has a sweet romance and lots of heart stopping excitement as well as some foreshadowing of the story down the road. I enjoyed it,

Another incredible read in this series

If you have read others in this series then you don’t need a review, you just need to download!

If this is a new author or series then although you could read this as a stand-alone, you would get so much more out of this book if you actually go back to the start

This is a well written, easy to follow story. These are not great characters, they become people you would like to know better.

There are already great reviews with spoilers but the simple message is that this is another must read by this author and this series

Stories can be read as stand-alone but highly suggest reading in order. The series is about humans who have been born after Earth is only a memory. But when they crash on an alien planet that is not only inhospitable but deadly they will find the natives are their only chance at survival. Nora is the only female that isn’t mated to a native male. But she loves her home and helping to take care of the children being born. But her hopes are slowly leaving as she is still alone. The story has quite a few action scenes of fighting invaders and some really viscous animals. It also has romance and plenty of hot scenes.

Love the stories,

Love the stories and I will continue the series but the author really needs a new editor, and a story bible. In book nine there is talk of Cashier sweating. Book 11Astatrot against a mating ceremony, but he himself had one. Requested one. At the end of 11 Cashier was to go t the mining camp to teach the minors how to hunt and take Delilah with him to t we ach the min II rs how to mine. Never m we nation's again. Book 12 mentioned Ran at mated to Lana, he is not his matrix Olivia. In this book Strolls father who lives in the caves with Annabelle crew, is now Bashers father. And what happened to the good doctor and the healer?

Nora and Archie on story was disappointing.

The beginning of this book started off with a great plot and Archion was portrayed as this greater than all the other Zmaj, as all powerful and most skilled fighter. However the writing , as the book continues ,the writing just totally deteriorated. The writing was bad. I gave it a three star because the plot was somewhat interesting. The fact that Samil was able to punch this all powerful skilled Archion in the face was a bit ridiculous. The romantic scenes between Nora and Archion was seriously lacking. Again the writing was the biggest problem.

The wonderful saga of Tjass continues with Nora feeling depressed because all of the men in her tribe are mated. She wanted a family and children so much. Then Archion saves her from an enemy attack. He is currently on assignment from the Order. More evidence of the psychic powers of the planet and certain people are introduced. So much hope is introduced for the continuation of this series. Excellent read.
