This volume was heading toward 4 stars, but the end was just stupid and dragged things out for no payoff. Also all the text/editing mistakes were really disappointing.

A couple sentences at the beginning just didn't make sense which I think must have been poorly translated. A time it said "against" instead of "again", one where I'm pretty sure we meant abyss king but it said ring king (admittedly I did that in a review the other day, but I'm not an official text and I went back and fixed it), and then a repeated word for no reason. Author's note said this volume got out faster than usual but apparently that was just from cutting corners with no editing. Or idk how the schedules worked; maybe the translators weren't expecting it early and had to rush? Anyway.

We finally got an account of the original Ring King. I really loved the vibe of that chapter. Went back and read it all over again. I loved getting the backstory that Peridot the Elder was actually the first Ring Princess of Wind and her telling us the true story of the Ring King--as much as she knows anyway. Even to the original princesses, he was still kind of a mystery. Just showed up one day with a ring of light he found in a field?? That's suspicious as heck. And how did he make the other rings going forward? Then, we still have no idea where the Abyss King came from. But then the princesses were like, "this Ring King guy is drunk with power and lust. So let's cut his arm off and take the rings back." Eeep. And then they kept his disembodied hand in the elven library for 500 years?? I don't know if he really had the power to curse everyone. And I don't really understand what happens to him after that--did he die? Did he go poof? Did he wander off with a missing arm?? But apparently it is his voice in the rings now. Poor Satou is worried now that he's going to turn into a lust monster. Then, I guess the girls kind of are too. Dang boy was reluctant enough already.

And yeah, wow, still no sex. The parental advisory warning I was so hopeful to see for the first time was just for a bunch of dick art and toys in the Elder's love lab. We went through this whole rigamarole with her locking them in, sister saying they should draw lots, everyone going into the bedroom with Satou individually.... and then nothing happened. SATOU AND HIME WERE RIGHT ABOUT TO GET TO IT AND THE ELDER HAD TO OPEN HER UGLY MOUTH. And then throw in some stupid aphrodisiac love-spell type shit again. But then even after she ruined it and the ring voice helped Satou dispel the sex fog, she still won't let them out??

Amber is still a creepy sex bot with no will of her own, but we did find out that she likes to eat bread and she carries DNA to reproduce. Poor Satou has been worried about birth control all this time, poor sweet dude. But spying sister overhears that and when they're in the library finds a contraceptive sigil, so that's good even though it looks like a weird front-side tramp stamp tattoo (there's probably a word for that but idk).


But anyway, it's cool that Granart might get to do some magic too, with Neff finding something about it in the library.

I'm interested to see how Granart seems to be developing bonds with Saphir and now maybe Neff too. Oh, and I still don't get what's with her mood swings or whatever you want to call them....

Trapped with an assortment of princesses...what is poor Satou going to do?

Seeking answer to whether the Abyss King is stronger or if the Ring King lacks something to beat his nemesis Satou and the princesses journey to the elven city of Romca to seek knowledge in impressive graveyard of elves where knowledge from generations past are kept. However while learning of the past the Elder has her own plans to help the crew get stronger pumping up a bit of the intensity. Will Satou be able to hold out and learn from the mistakes from the past or will his dedication to Hime put the world in danger? Only time will tell. :)

They started pretty good... And seem to get worse and worse by each book.
