All Empires Collapse Eventually and America is No Exception. From critically acclaimed author Bobby Akart, The Loyal Nine is a gripping novel of an America teetering on the edge of economic and societal collapse.
With social unrest sweeping the country, Europe on the brink of war and the U.S. economy under siege by foreign nations, a new threat emerges. The nation is caught in the crosshairs of a power struggle between wealthy oligarchs and the political leaders who claim to have the country's best interests at heart.
As the collapse events escalate, enter The Loyal Nine - direct descendants of the Founding Fathers, a modern day Knights Templar whose mission is to protect America, and the republic, from those who would inflict tyranny upon her.
But will America be destroyed from within? Conditions of war are building and they do not involve bullets and bombs. There is a new battleground - cyberspace. As the country descends into decline economically and socially, will America be caught off guard by a threat never before experienced - a devastating Cyber War?"
The Boston Brahmin series takes the reader on a frighteningly realistic journey into a post-apocalyptic fiction world.

He's achieved Amazon Top 5 Author status in both fiction and non-fiction genres, Amazon Kindle All Star and Top 50 Amazon Author (#35) and Top 25 Best Selling Book on Amazon Charts (Yellowstone #25). "He's right up there with James Patterson, David Baldacci, Brad Thor and others that write thrillers. To me he actually surpasses them.” He has written more than 80 novels in the disaster, survival, medical and political thriller genres.
Konkoly and Akart obviously are a great team. The first chapter pops right out of the news in Ukraine. Perfectly paced and detailed by experienced pros. Way to go guys. The book paces out the groundwork for a long and detailed series that breaks new ground for the master of technothrillers, Konkoly. History-backstory-digs deep into the high and mighty in America and their dedication or not to the values of the great nation. Steady read, if a little less action-packed than its predecessors! A grand puzzle box has been opened up. The pieces are on the table. Many of them are still uncovered. The series will be a great one, giving readers a chance to explore and put together the puzzle as it builds. More to come as I finish the book.
This is a cerebral book, which is usually enough to keep me away. I started out by reading the first 11 chapters of Cyber Attack before figuring out it would be a really good idea to know what was going on earlier. Basically there are 3 factions, the Loyal Nine, who you are introduced to during the course of this book, The Boston Brahman, the power brokers, and the Zero Day Gamers, a group of elite hackers. I grew up in MA during a time when Patriots Day was special and our curriculum emphasized our founding fathers. This is not your typical work of fiction, it is actual current affairs mixed with fiction. Fasten your seat belts, the ride is about to begin!
Bobby Akart's The Loyal Nine is a wonderful beginning for his Boston Brahmin Political Thrillers series. Reaching back into history, we are introduced to our Founding Fathers.
A quick jump, and we meet their modern ancestors. The elite of Boston, the power brokers, and the people behind the political decision-making.
Something is wrong with America. And the Boston Brahmin are getting prepared for any circumstances. The tension builds, chapter by chapter, as the depth of the danger is slowly revealed.
Just as your heart is in your mouth, awaiting a resolution to the chaos and violence, the book is continued in the next volume of the series. Patience is a virtue. Bobby Akart's readers have lots of patience.
Whew, boy. Where to start? I'm very disappointed in The Loyal Nine and author Bobby Akart. I knew before picking this book up that it would have a libertarian/prepper angle, and I have no problem with novels having an agenda; I'm not reading a newspaper column. But what The Loyal Nine actually amounted to was a huge work of fan service mostly devoid of any actual plot. Many passages and phrases contributed nothing at all to either the story or even character development, but were clearly only attempts to appease a certain constituency of readers. And I get it, sometimes it's nice to just kick back and read something that validates your existing identity. But when judging this book as an actual work of literature, it falls flat in many ways. The book actually started off fairly strong. I do believe Akart is capable of writing well. Unfortunately, his positions are so overt and belabored that if you aren't a tea party libertarian, you'll struggle to enjoy the little bit of plot that exists. Most of the dialogue felt forced and unnatural, and some of it didn't even seem to have a point. The fight scenes were the best written aspects of the book, but there were only a couple. I really wanted to enjoy The Loyal Nine more. With some serious editing to remove superfluous passages and correct inaccuracies, I probably could have rated this higher, but as it stands, I would have trouble recommending this book over other political action thrillers.
The President and his friends plan a series of false flag attacks so they can enforce martial law and take guns, land and supplies from Americans, ensuring he can stay in power without an election. The book starts by introducing different people-a man sent to ally with an anti-Russian group in Ukraine, a professor talking to his class about cyber attacks and retaliation, a prepper who accepts jail time to protect a rich client in return for payment and of course the corrupt President who thinks he is actually a good guy.
It seems to be full in the beginning of introductions to a lot of people but I can't say that any of them appealed to me. I found this very slow to get in to. There seems to be a lot of talk about things but nothing much in the way of action, tension or excitement, just lectures. I found myself getting bored very quickly as this is not my kind of book at all.
Reads like a libertarian wet dream, so be warned if you need warning. I saw on Amazon reviews it has its fans who gave it five stars, so take that for what you will.
This politically charged thriller is too close to US reality in 2016 at times, which makes it all the more powerful. Akart boldly displays the flaws in politics, global community, and the way a powerful few can manipulate and control events to create a desired state of fear. The book sets out to show how crises locally and globally can be manipulated by a select few, and the consequences are meant to lead the US in a particular direction. There are 3 groups working in this book-- hackers, patriots (not sure what to call them they are who I call the genuine good souls), and the Boston Brahmin.
I am a fan of political thrillers and am Impressed with the first of this series. The characters are well written and even though there are many key characters, the writing is well done so I did not get confused.
Don't take this book to the beach though it is a politically and economically dense read, but a worthy investment.
Wow! Where to begin. This is what all SHTF, and Collapse books should aspire to emulate. Superb doesn't even come close. Bobby Akark has produced, what i believe is the finest pre-collapse book ive ever had the pleasure to read. Its intricate, and meticulous, and frightening to anyone who has even the passing interest in economics and politics. Picture yourself stood on a pane of glass, 1000ft above the ground. A crack appears, weakening the glass. Then more cracks appear, and its only a matter of time before the glass shatters, and you plummet. This is "The Loyal Nine" Different groups, countries, and nations, all conspire to crack the glass further. The authors knowledge of economics, politics, and cyber terrorism are massively impressive. At no point can you put this book down, and shrug it off as simple fiction. This feels so real. Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. I am starting book 2, where i should imagine the glass is about to shatter.
After reading several of Bobby Akart’s other books, I was excited to start this series and I am so glad I did! This book was more of a who’s who of characters and laying the ground work for what was to come which I really liked because the cast seems fairly large and each player plays an important role in the book. I love the realism of this story and have come to expect it in Mr. Akart’s books because that is how he writes his stories. All of his stories, including this one are things that can happen in our time and show real people’s emotions to the situations. Kudos on not just an entertaining story but on a story that was enjoyable to read. Looking forward to starting the next book in this series.
This book had a lot of things I like, interesting characters; Boston, one of my favorite places; and a good plot idea, with a small of our current environment. The problem though, is that not much happens in this book. There's no climax to the story ... And no real conclusion, either. Maybe this is meant to draw the reader into future books in the series, but there are a lot of good books out there where I don't need to get to the 5th book in hopes that some event occurs. I was expecting an apocalyptic event...There wasn't one. I'll pass on remainder of series.
Sorry, Bobby, but I just couldn't stay with you. As a poor man from a long line of poor people, I just could NOT get into either the story or the characters. Nomad's combat sequences are as good as anything you have ever written. I loved Texas and Yellowstone but I just could not get into the Brahmins. Bobby Akart is a very fine writer but this series was NOT for me.
An amazing and informative read. Mr. Akart makes his characters so real with his very descriptive writing. This first book in (what looks to be) an intriguing series has me ready for the next one! I want to see where these characters go. It is also wonderful to read of the action in my hometown of Boston! Very well written and I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.
Interesting book. I felt like I was in school. History. Economics. Political Science. It was great. Also, this book isn't written at the 5th grade level. What a concept. Thoroughly enjoyed the read.

*I received a copy of this book for an honest review*
The government pulling the strings behind chaos is not something I'm accustomed to reading in fiction, but I have to say that I enjoyed it. I admit that at times I got a bit lost, but it was mostly explained quite well. The story and build up were great, and I'm getting ready to dive into Cyber Attack, the next book in the series. Now, the characters left a bit to be desired, BUT, we're being introduced to several at once, as this is the first in a series, and I still enjoyed them.
I listened to the audible, and the narrator is very clear and concise, with a pleasant voice and good tempo.
This is the first series by Bobby Akart I really haven’t enjoyed as much. It’s all political. The characters are interesting but it’s the end of this book and teotwawki still hasn’t occurred. I’m really not into politics but readers who are will enjoy this book. A few of his other series’s had political intrigue but so far this one is ALL politics which I just don’t enjoy. I’m going to read the next in the series because I hate starting something and not finishing it.
This book is all about the build-up to "something bad is going to happen." However, it was very detailed in the discussion of economic, military assessment and the current affairs are sprinkling with a lot of our own current events. It lends to an atmosphere of impending doom. I'm not even sure if these are the good guys or the bad guys since some seem on the sinister side to me. It will be interesting to see how the story unfolds in the subsequent books.
The Loyal Nine is the first book in the series. It can be read as a standalone though you know there is more to the story. There is violence. Part of this story takes place in a classroom, and I actually enjoyed reading about Sarge's lectures. This story is an interesting mix of History and the present. Makes me wonder if just a handful of families is out there behind the scenes controlling things.
A BA. SYFY. Novel (TBBSB-1)/Boston/Society Downfall/A Country Gone Mad
BA. has. penned the 1st novel of the Boston Brahmin series which is written as the downfall of American society as we know it. The BB9 come from a long line of wealthy American bankers and businessmen who own a building and have utilized this area to develop and supply a survival area for the families. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS
Economics 101 and i need a primer and tutor. Even so, some knowledge was absorbed, enough to raise a level of threat for my family. Decades ago I read a novel by Taylor. One of the things that stuck with me was the premise that the ultra rich were behind thee scene determining winners of elections (national) and where the next wars would evolve. This novel just returned these memories too the forefront. Eye Opening!
I rarely write reviews until I have completed the entire series, but this first in the series story is inspiring and should be read by all. The historical references are solid while masterfully blended with current events and modern day progeny. I am very interested to see how this story unfolds. It is also a bit striking that some of the events described in this story have in reality unfolded in our world post publication.
I don't usually read this type of book. It was heavy on history of some federal agencies. It was full of statistics of the world economic status. Some really boring but important to the story.
I sure hope when this happens we do have patriots to help stand up to it
Having lived in New England most of my life, I thought I was pretty well versed in Revolutionary War history. This book was very well researched and has made me want to learn more about that period of American History. I would certainly recommend it to all history buffs!
Author Bobby Akart gives us another outstanding novel. It's a chilling story about what may cause our nation to collapse due to cyber attacks and the chaotic results which would happen. The characters are very well defined and very determined and strong to restore American values. Another great win for a great author.
Author, wordsmith, Bobby Akart, has expressed an interesting view point, backed up with historical accounts about the potential future of the United States. This first volume of the series is very informative and captivating. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series..
The Boston Brahmin Series is one of Author Bobby Akart's best works. Current national events, proud America history, and an almost prophetic knowledge of economics; Akart takes us down a trail that leads frighteningly, yet realistically, to economic collapse. And once the nation collapses how patriotic Americans who "choose freedom" helps our country recover during such a challenging period.
This one was a surprise for me. It was slow moving as Bobby developed his characters. I had a hard time with the political back and forth but being a history buff helped. I kept reading and finally began to see the prepper mentality take over. Will be reading the next in the series if only to see where the not your usual preppers as we think of them prep.
