I'll Protect You

Rate this book
My job was to protect her, not get her pregnant.

My first sight of Allisa was two cheeks as she bent over a box wielding packing tape.
Suddenly there was only one package I wanted her to manhandle.

The fiery beauty had me at, “EXCUSE ME?”
How can such a sassy mouth be so attractive?

She’s moving in next door.
Right when I’m getting ready to leave town.

I have one last job to do before I leave.
How was I supposed to know SHE was that job?

She’s in deep. Maybe too deep to be saved.
But there are rules you can never break.
Rule one: Don’t fall for your client.
Rule two: Screw rule one.

Let's start with the cover. Yummy! I really enjoyed this book, despite my times of frustration. There were moments where I wanted to throw my IPad over the stubbornness of the two main characters, Carter & Alissa. It ended up adding to the climax at the end but but was a bit exhausting during reading. The sexual components were intense and enhanced the chemistry between Carter & Alissa. What a rockin twist of events transpired to wrap up the book! Loved it along with the special gift from Carter at the end. Recommend beyond the exceptional cover. Happy Reading!!!

ONE AMAZING DELIGHT!!!
If you're looking for action packed, fast paced, heart pounding, pulse racing, adrenaline pumping read that grabs your attention from the start. Congratulations my friends you've found it. The characters and scenes were intriguing, complex and realistic. The scenes were so vividly detailed and descriptive that I felt I was part of the tale instead of reading it from the sidelines. With a strong storyline that captures your imagination and holds it till last word. Eyes total focus on the pages and frozen to your seat. Twists, turns and unexpected surprises that were truly nailbiting, hold your breath with danger lurking around every corner. I think I lost two inches in the waist with all the tension and sicking in a sharp breath more than once. A whirlwind of emotions and that will set you back upon your heels in one second and on your knees the next. The chemistry between the two main characters were white hot, electrifying and explosive. Wow. Talk about setting the nights in fire. They could probably do just that. Aubrey did a remarkable job bringing this read together flawlessly and without a crease. Great job Aubrey, thank you for sharing.

More like 3.5 stars

This book was a rather good read but was not without its flaws. My biggest let down was consistency. Details change that make no sense. Make you scroll back and make sure you read correctly. One minute his shirt is off then next it's on but he never put his shirt back on for example. It needs to be better proof read for accuracy of detail. Some sentences made no sense at all. She tried to use turn phrases and completely messes it up a few times. Question marks where there should be periods. Odd paragraphs. To much detail in odd places but not enough in others.
While I did like the book it could have been a tad better edited. The premise was good. A tad bit predictable but at the rate I read it's hard to get one past me. Other than that it was an enjoyable quick read. I am not a synapses in reviews type but I do believe the intro given in the disruption is on point. Both are in trouble undertaking to tell eachother and end up in a sticky situation.

I’m not gonna say I hated this book, but I wasn’t in love with it either.
Alissa and Carter were two neighbors that just wanted a fling. A one night stand nothing more, but things didn’t turn out the way they planned.
First off, I felt like it was hard to really feel anything for these characters.
There backgrounds were sad but also seemed to kind of be brushed over in my opinion.
The main plot also took a bit of time to get to and it did tie Carter’s past together, but I don’t know. I felt a bit like something was missing.
Despite that, I must admit I did get lost in it and the chemistry between these two were off the charts.
If you’re looking for a quick, sexy read then this will definitely be the book for you!

This was a first time read for Ms Wright, and having said that, I am now a new fan. I found I'll Protect You to have a very realistically written storyline, as well as well crafted characters, that you can help but to fall in love with. Action, drama and love is all here; within these pages. Join me in reading Aubrey's latest release and be as amazed as I was while following along on their journey. I am positive that you will find yourself as engrossed as I was with this well-crafted book.

I voluntarily requested an advanced reader's copy of I'll Protect You in exchange for my honest opinion and I highly recommend reading this book.

Alissa moves to Boston to move up in the company she works at and Carter is her next door neighbor. Carter is in the security business and is just about to move when Alissa needs his security services. So he stay to help and they end up getting closer because of it. Its not long before the give in to their attraction to each other. Each has their own secrets about theirs pasts will those secrets it cause more conflict for them?

This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Aubrey is the bomb!

Another fantastic story from Aubrey Wright. Don't know where they come from but enjoy her books so much. I'll protect you was a fantastic day placed drama filled roller coaster ride. Carter and Alissa certainly had some thing, their relationship was fiery and sassy, I loved the conversations and emotion in their relationship. She fought it and he loved her and wanted her from the start. All the drama they had to get through added to the plot so well and the story marched along. I truly admire all of Aubrey s books and this was no different. Do yourself a huge favor and grab one of her books today. You won't be disappointed!

Holy twisty romance! Love this! Alissa is Carter's new smoking hot neighbor, with a sassy mouth to match. He owns a security agency, but he has secrets that keep him from getting close to anyone....until Alissa moves in. She has moved for her dream job and ends up hiring Carter for a job overseas. Their chemistry is off the charts, but she is hiding things too, not realizing that they are on a collision course to danger. This is a fast paced, super hot romance with a twist that will make you say WTF?! It's great!

What an enjoyable read. The first time her sees her is her butt as she leans over a box. Thinking she will get up hi is surprised when she leans over more. What a way to meet your neighbor. They have an instant attraction that doesn't go away even when the danger, suspense, intrigue, emotional situations and more happen. Secrets and lies and more. Can they make it through this? I highly recommend it. I couldn't put it down and am really glad I was asked to read it. I received a copy of this and voluntarily review it.

This was overall a good read. The plot was interesting. The storyline was choppy in some spots. The characters were good; however, could have used more development. A lot of confusion could have been put a stop to if they had just communicated with each other. There was some good twist and turns to the plot. Some I didn't see coming. Enjoyable read.

This has a little bit of everything; hot sexual chemistry, intrigue, humor, and romance. There are times you'll want to yell at Alyssa and Carter, but more because you have all the details and you just want them to talk so they can get them too, then because of anything the writer does. I really enjoyed reading this book and I believe if you like romances that are hot, sexy and full of mystery you will too. So one click this and see what I mean.

You have a story that will intrigue you from the beginning and keep your attention throughout. You have well developed characters that suck you in and make you feel as if you are part of the story. It's a good book to sit down and enjoy for an afternoon of reading.

I floved this book! I loved how Alissa was a "no holds barred" kinda person, she was quick with the come backs to Carter. I loved how Carter toyed with her. They were just perfect for one another even though neither wanted to be with another to begin with. But the Carter went and feelings before Alissa did.

Great read!

This book really grabbed my attention and kept it to the detriment of my house. I couldn't put the book down and keep my little children from wrecking the house, but if I had to do it over again I'd still read it. The characters and story really pull you in and keep your attention. I loved the book and would recommend this to anyone who likes romance.

I enjoyed Allisa & Carter's story. I was grabbed by the first page. She had a bit of an attitude I didn't much care for tho...but it's hard not to fall for Carter. This was a fun book for me. I'm voluntarily leaving an honest review for a copy of the book.

Good book , intriguing story

Story kept me intrigued. Definitely didnt see parts of it coming. Story could have been a little more in depth but it was all still there beginning to end. I just tend to like more details in the stories I read. But still a good book :)

Sexy and Dangerous

Full of dirty talk and more... Characters that were frustrating because you can see the connections they are blind to. Criminals that threaten everything you hold dear. In the end, a sweet happily ever after just like you’d expect.

Hot and sweet

High high heat, no major editing issues. Kind of want to knock sense into a favorite character. You may figure its secrets ahead of the game but if it really doubt chance much.

Fantastic

It is hard to keep reader interest with books that are part thriller and part romance. This book was awesome and offered it all. Steamy sex scenes, intrigue and a healthy dose of fear, I loved it!

I’ll Protect You

Lots of interesting twists in this story. Not what you you usually expect from a story about a hot bodyguard and a damsel in distress- sometimes it’s hard to decide who’s protecting who.
