Catechism for pastors. Solid stuff. Biblical theology reflecting the solid biblical foundation and referential framework for Lutheran theology. The fathers knew the primary source of divine truth as recorded in the authoritative writings of the apostles and prophets of old. It sounds very much like an expanded catechism. No frills, no fake news, just plain truths for those entrusted with teaching, preaching and living in the light and truth according to the doctrine of Christian faith and life. Sometimes the translation is bumpy as you´d expect from a Latin discourse in German. However all in all, ir reads very much like our confessional theology. It´s good for learning, for revision, for meditation and devotion. I´m looking forward to the next volume, which has been advertised already. Still, I am going to return to this volume too. It´s not just going to be shelved to be forgotten, but its going to be in my "good book" section.
