around 20% of the book. The same old stuff that never changes! The introduction lacked any updated viewpoint from the standpoint of contemporary society. The Periyar of a hundred years ago.

So far, it is one of the best edited book on Periyar speeches. Subaguna rajan has given insightful explanation in the introduction. Periyar speeches on Caste conferences are interesting. He has supported the caste conferences. By reading the speeches of periyar , you can see the transformation of periyar time to time and also about view on gods he had.

One thing we should understand is , periyar is against the Mahabharata, Ramayana , Bhagavat Gita than hindu gods.

He is directly attacking the writings than gods.

In one of the Adi dravidar Christian conference, periyar has spoken against Christianity.

Another interesting one, periyar spoken against halal. He condemned Muslims and asked people to buy the non- halal meat's.

These stories were supporting the caste system strongly. These caste conferences made lots of changes in tamilnadu now.
