This series has been uneven, but this book is one of the better ones.

Good character development, including consequences that make sense for the situation. Believable (given the conceit of the series) villains with understandable motivations. And the plot here is strong and moves well.

The writing is serviceable, but it's not strong, especially in dialogue. The world design doesn't make a great deal of sense, which makes it about par for the course in superhero fiction. And like all the books in this series, it's barely longer than a novella.

This was fun, and as the series approaches its conclusion, I'm finding myself caring more about the characters than I did at the start. This will never be a favorite series, but it has been entertaining, and I'd recommend it for fans of the genre looking for something new.

Notes:

* Maj. Tony Nelson, USAF? Really?

* "'Who's next?' It was rhetorical; they were all next."

TL;DR - Ho hum story, but it does progress the overall plot and there is a change up to the character lineup.

My big problem with this book is it's starting to feel like a Niall Teasdale or Michael Anderle novel, where the female characters become the primary focus and they're grossly overpowered. This book focus a little on Amelia, but mostly on Tia, Tessa, and Domino.

The story was mostly action scene after action scene and it gets exhausting. Some calm exposition and fact finding would have been preferable. The whole thing with an organized crime syndicate taking control of vast swaths of the US government just didn't make since. There are numerous checks and balances within the system to prevent such things. The moment the FBI did the public sting against The Protectors in the previous book, red flags would have gone up and internal investigations would have been triggered.

Book 7 does not disappoint

Read these books and you’ll figure out why Jeffrey Haskell is one of today’s premier science fiction writers.

This book has a new Protector, some time traveling, and a twist that I certainly did not see coming.
This series continues to stay fresh and consistent. This book caught me off guard with a twist or two.
It’s a fun read or listen. I do whisperSync and the narrator IS Amelia. Great book!

I highly recommend this series. I’ve already started book 8. I’m excited to finish book 9 so I get back to Wraith book 4 and see how this wraps up!

I feel a bit disappointed by this book. Nothing much happened, except a bit of drama and a bit of world building.

We see other characters do hero things, but the main protagonist ends up doing mostly nothing for most of the book.

I enjoyed the other books quite a lot more... and for much longer. I read it in one sitting of more or less 3 hours. Waaay too short.

Another great installment

These books always read so incredibly fast for me because they’re page-turners. Jeffrey blends the points of view perfectly while completing an over arching plot for every book so that each installment is satisfying.

Arg!!! The glorious wonderful pain! :)

Just binge read all seven books, and man did it come to a head! Enough twists and turns and humanity to make Stan Lee proud (may he Rest In Peace)

Loved how this all works

Credit due where credit due as how this world all works out and how this book allows us to get this is great, especially how it affects Amelia.
Maybe less action and perhaps more emotional rollarcoaster but it brings some balance to the overall series.

Good book

Arsenal is trapped in 1901 and just figure a way to get back the future! Its a pretty good premise and I love what Kate is up to in the present. I really liked the twist at the end too.

good but the good guys lose

Lots of heart brake lots of fighting lots of losing lots of action but I am sorely disappointed with this book. I have 2 more left but I am not sure I want to read them.

Good but not enough

Story moved quickly and left a lot of holes. This story really felt rushed. But it still was good and can't wait for more

Hurry up bruh. Nah. But good cliff hanger my guy. I really enjoyed it. Why does this need to be twenty words long?

This was a fun read. Of course, going back into the past always raises questions for me. This is a good addition to the series. You can tell something big is brewing.

Another great story, with massive changes to the world and characters and a revelation that flips over ideas from the very first book (can't say any more without spoilers).

Five stars means a book that I will read over and over again for the years to come.

I really love this series, every book just leaves me wanting to jump right into the next novel. The series is just fun, the books are short and are not filled with bloat. They tell a story and they tell the story very well.
