Witch Ever After: A Nerdy & Quirky Paranormal Romance

Rate this book
October “Tobie” Moon can’t stand her name―or her overbearing mother.

The daughter of a powerful (and obnoxiously perfect) witch, Tobie just can’t seem to measure up to her mother’s standards―particularly when it comes to men.

A fresh start in a new town is just what she needs. Sure, her house is a little leaky, and her mother still calls every other day. But she’s finally studying magical botany under a highly respected elder witch, and she’s determined to make a name for herself in the field.

But between her mother arranging horrible blind dates with young men from the “best magical families” and her continued disapproval, Tobie still feels like she’s barely above water.

So when landscaping enthusiast Kaiden Farr accidentally knocks over her entire floral display at the nursery, she’s had it. She sets his pants on fire―just a small one, promise!―for an excuse to dump a bucket of water over his head.

But what starts as a soggy introduction quickly develops into a friendship, and maybe more...

Except her mother would never approve. And if she finds out, Tobie’s career prospects will likely be shattered unless she agrees to see only “nice magical boys” instead. As a self-proclaimed nerdy plant girl who’s wanted nothing more than plants and peace (and now maybe Kaiden, too), she’s not sure if she can handle that.

Can love―and plants―free her from her mother’s rigid expectations? Or is she doomed to live a life of the obedient (and ever-suffering) daughter? Goddess preserve her, because she's about to find out.

I picked up this novel because I've been on a paranormal binge, and I don't see a fraction as many witch books as I do shifters. Shifters all over the place! So this was a fun switch up!

I expected this to be just a sweet romance as the title suggested, but I was not prepared for the funny! Quirky in the title should be more Hilarious. I laughed out loud so many times. But beyond that, the love is very sweet and perfect. I love when awkward meets awkward and makes beautiful. 🙂

Quirky and romantic! The dialogue is sharp and quick . The body language descriptions give the characters even more personality than the wonderful dialogue. The romantic tension permeated interactions between leading characters. I loved the flirtations and the ultimate kisses. I absolutely loved this book and I’m an old retired white guy😊

This was a cute and sweet romance. Tobie has a lot of spunk and I always like a heroine with some moxie. Loved, loved Kaiden. He was so wonderfully sweet and endearing. I had a trouble with the flow in the writing. It was very choppy. Also there were some definite editing issues with improper words in places. I think the story could have used more depth and there are definite threads left unfinished by the end. This was a cute story but I think still needed a bit more work to be truly good. ⭐️⭐️
