It's hard to say no to a handsome billionaire...Ellen, Sue, and Tanya travel to Portland, Oregon where a local billionaire has promised to give them his current renovation project--a historical carriage house in the downtown area--if they can find his missing brother. As they dig deeper into a local legend, they soon fear that the cause of the brother's disappearance is more sinister and more powerful than ghosts."This series is one of the best I have read in a long time. I highly recommend this entire series."--txdoc, Amazon Reviewer ★★★★★"In this book, the women of Ghost Healers, Inc go to Portland, Oregan to help a billionaire find his missing brother. They use their knowledge of the paranormal to help them search for the missing man and they stumble upon an even bigger mystery. I really enjoyed the story! And I learned a lot about Portland. The story was well-written with an interesting plot. The characters were well-developed. The story made me laugh and cry - I cried a lot (some happy tears and some sad tears). I love these books and I can't wait for the Hoover Dam story that was teased in the ending."--Kathy E, Amazon Reviewer ★★★★★"Wow! I think this has been my favorite story so far. The Hidden Tunnel
By Eva Pohler
This is book four of the series. The three women are in Portland and find out there is tunnels underneath parts of the city. They are there to help find a billionaire's brother. We learn the history of being Shanghai and how it may be going on now for human trafficking.
There's paranormal aspects too! Good suspense, humor, and plot! Really enjoyed this one! Narration great!

Three best friends decide to go into their retirement years flipping houses discover that ghosts are real. The ladies decide to not only flip the houses but start their own paranormal investigation with the goal to send spirits to the other side. The best part of these books are not only the characters, who have characteristics I identify with, but also that each location they investigate they discuss the history of the location. In The Hidden Tunnel (sounds like a Nancy Drew book) they are in Portland, Oregon. These ancient tunnels have a disturbing past. Men were lured into bars, plied with alcohol, then dropped through trapped doors to be Sanghi'd and never seen again.
Through the use of a Ouija, they are told that someone is alive and being held captive there. While I enjoy the stories, and the characters are funny and very relatable, I find the use of a Ouija rather far-fetched. However, it does work for the story. Again, my favorite part of this series is the history of the places they research.

Just as good as the first three.....

This time the ladies head off to Portland Oregon to learn about the Hidden Tunnel and if you know any of the history behind the tunnels you will truly enjoy this story. Sue and Ellen even go to the Famous Voodoo Donuts. They also meet some who gives them some information about homeless men vanishing from one of the homeless shelters. The main reason for heading to Portland is to help a guy Brian find his missing brother. There are lots of great things that happen in this story and also a few sad things as well. If you love a good mystery book grab this series get hooked. Eva Pohler is one amazing storyteller that gets you to feel as if you are right there with everyone in the story. I can't wait for book five in the series.

The book opens with Ellen suffering a loss. Her husband Paul has died and she's having a difficult time. A new project comes up and Sue, Ellen and Tanya head to Portland to help Brian McManius find his brother who disappeared at their Ladd Carriage House remodel. Brian has exhausted all methods of finding his and has now turned to the paranormal for help. During their time there they make Brian a believer in the paranormal. They also find hidden tunnels under the city that were used by business owners to move goods from the boats on the docks to their businesses, but not they are being used for something more sinister. The ladies put their lives on the line in hopes of helping Brian find his brother, hopefully alive.
Another great Mystery House book.

I listened to the audio version. The narrator did an amazing job as always. She is so great at the different voices for each character.

The story line itself did not disappoint either! Miss Pohler has a knack for drawing me in right away with a new mystery. I don't know how close to true the history aspect of her stories are but I feel they are pretty accurate! Super believable.

Nicely done, I can't wait to get my hands on The Haunting of Hoover Dam.

My eyes have been opened by the greatness of this book. It captured me from the first page and held on tight to the last. It had a wonderful storyline that flowed so very well and the characters were all amazing. It felt like I was a part of this book because it sucked me into it. The passion, the delivery of this book was more than on point.

Fabulous Book

A lot of emotion for me in this book. I cried several times, but they were happy tears. And I am learning or relearning about horrific events in USA history. It reminds me of an old movie title way back in the last century, The Evil That Men Do. Don't worry, this book is not full of blood and gore. It is more about giving closure to those who have been wronged. It is a great book.

Intense and extremely entertaining!

Loved the story line! Sure hope Brian and Ellen are a couple in future books! I enjoyed learning a bit about the tunnels in Portland and what they were used for occasionally. I lived in Oregon for a while, but never got to Portland. Although, I did get to see the sea lion caves. This is an awesome series! I really enjoy the ghosts and the places they investigate!

The lovely ladies are at it again. This time, amidst a personal tragedy, they travel to Portland to help a man find his missing brother. As usual, a key component of this book includes lots of historical, and some current, injustices that cause ghosts to manifest. The interactions between the wildly different best friends make this series a delight to read while learning a bit of history and exploring new locations. I am eagerly devouring all the books in this series.

While I liked the mystery, it just didn’t seem to move as fast as the others. I struggled to finish this book. Enjoyed the characters and there were some twists and turns, but something was a little off for me.

Story was good…this is the second book I’ve read by this author and the writing seems juvenile, in places….I’m desperate for books to read, that’s why I read another in this series…I’ll probably read another one since both libraries I get books from are slow to get new ones for my holds…

Another awesome paranormal adventure…

Each story in this series has, so far, been a literary treat featuring three wonderful, unique, extremely likeable women who are best friends working as a team of paranormal investigators specializing in exposing and, if possible, rectifying past injustices which tether disgruntled spirits to this mortal plane. Along the way, they have been very successful in renovating haunted buildings and transforming them into lucrative real estate holdings which benefit the communities in which they are found all while helping the unfortunate spirits move on. In this book our three intrepid ladies, Ellen, Sue, and Tanya, travel to Portland at the request of a wealthy businessman whose brother has gone missing. The police have not been able to shed any light on the case and, in desperation, the businessman hires the ladies to utilize their special investigative talents to uncover what happened to his brother and, if possible, rescue him. The story moves along at a brisk pace as the ladies follow various clues to try and find their client’s brother. As usual for one of Ms. Pohler’s stories, fact and fiction are masterfully blended together to produce an engaging mystery that is sure to keep the reader’s attention to the very last sentence. The Shanghai tunnels of Portland are woven into the plot of this captivating story lending a credible authenticity to the human trafficking suspicions our ladies must explore to solve their case. I highly recommend this entire series.

For those who prefer the audiobook format, I cannot say enough good things about the outstanding performance of the narrator, Debbie Andreen. She has a pleasant voice that is very easy to listen to, she utilizes appropriate pace and tone, and she gives each character a distinctive voice.

I was given an audio copy of this book by the author and I am voluntarily offering this honest and unbiased review.

If you find this review helpful, I thank you for so indicating.
