I received a copy of this book in a Goodreads giveaway.

The super sloppy, amateur feel of the writing pushed me away from this almost immediately. I pushed myself through about three chapters and couldn't take it for another second. There's no character development, barely any sentence structure, and the dialogue feels like it was written for a middle school creative writing class. Don't waste your time.

Awful read, don’t waste your time or money. For someone who presents himself as a law professional perhaps barista is a better profession for you mate, that is if you can make coffee. No stars for you.

I loved this story. It is the kind that you can identify with the characters and immerse yourself in the story. Very beautifully written and characters to win the heart make this book a must read.

I received this in a giveaway. The story was good and there were a few twists. All the characters were annoying and unlikable so you don't really care about what happens to them. Also, I am not sure if it was because this was an e-book, but there were a lot of mistakes in the writing and that was distracting.

I won this book through Goodreads. It is a quick-read thriller. The characters are fairly well developed. My only negative is that the story and ending are predictable. Typos are distracting but still, it's a good read.

Can the Light of Love Heal the Darkness of an Individual’s Actions?

Gabriel Palanick is the CEO of Palanick Holdings, a company which has as its primary objective to build a portfolio of businesses by developing, acquiring and investing in emerging companies worldwide. With offices in Zurich, Hamburg, Gothenburg, Vienna, Paris, Milan and Dubai, the company is a major player in the automobile, aerospace and data technology industries, leading select markets in the fields of real estate and hospitality, Medicare and pharmaceutical research. With such a diverse and portfolio, CEO Palanick casts a long shadow in the world. And with his wealth comes the power that wealth can purchase.

And, with his wealth and power, Gabriel has decided to use that wealth to crush the grip of the dark web which uses a cover of darkness to hide the dark secrets of the world, allowing evil to romp unseen and unchecked. He has decided to do something about the evil that never sleeps, but roams from place to place spreading its destruction through the unchecked and unseen proliferation of drugs, human trafficking, weapons, and all other trades bringing misery to human existence. His plan is to bring the darkness of those invisible sites to the light using his wealth and the talent his wealth can purchase to build a software program that has the ability to harvest the data that hides behind the laws of nation states designed to protect personal privacy, but which gives space in which evil can hide. His plan is to form an alliance with a government that will pass legislation to empower the gleaning of data of the darkness to limit the seemingly limitless pain that these dark, unseen and for the most part, unnoticed parasites inflict on the most vulnerable on humanity.

But to achieve his goal, Gabriel needs to be ruthless. He needs to assure that legislation moves through the halls of Congress unnoticed and to gain approval before cries of the violation of personal privacy derail the greater good of bringing light to the darkness. And such a deal has been struck, but it needs to remain unnoticed until it has been signed, sealed and delivered. But, Dina Cormack, editor of the business section of the B-Gazette of Boston has signed off on the work of reporter Derek Peele to follow a lead that covert government official Quentin Ford has been seen going into Palanick Towers.

So now, whatever the cost and whatever it takes, however ruthless he must be, Palanick is committed to stopping the investigation put in motion by Cormack and her reporter. The articles being written need to be halted, even if the beautiful green-eyed, raven haired editor’s life is turned upside down and her job, her personal relationships, and her mental health is threatened. Palanick has no concern or remorse about abducting the beautiful Dina and keeping her under his supervision, exposing her to his personal darkness until legislation has been put in place to assure the greater good of shining light on the darkness of the dark corners of the web has been achieved.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review, but I enjoyed reading it so much that I will enjoy re-reading it with Kindle Unlimited and hoping for continued related tales to be forthcoming in the series.

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we meet Dina Cormack and Gabriel Palanick. Gabriel has to have control in all aspects of his life. Whether it is in his business or it is in his personal life. Right now Gabriel is working on a AI project that will change the world. The thing is he has to make sure no one finds out about it before he can get the proper legislation on the books. So what he does is stay on top of all the people involved with this project. This includes all of his bed partners. He never lets anyone get to close to him and he has to control everything in there as well. So when he learns of a leaked story about what he his company may be up to he knows he has to get on top of it and make sure no one knows anything. Dina has worked her way up to be head of the business section at Boston's move viewed news portal. So when one of her journalists comes out in a meeting with a big story she takes notice. Once they take it to their boss and get approval it is all a go. Well that is how it starts out. Once Gabriel knows how is really in charge of all of this information coming out Dina thinks he is all smoke and mirrors. What happens though when she learns that isn't true? Will they find a HEA or will this be more than either of them can handle?

This is an amazing story. Not only are you drawn into the characters of this story but the story itself has you walking away thinking. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

This is quite different than other works by this author. I had difficulty getting into this book because nothing much seemed to be happening but then it started into a familiar theme. A young woman is kidnapped and held by three men known only as numbers: One, Two and Zero. Dina does know who has kidnapped her, a man named Gabriel who wants to stop her investigating, as a journalist, the rumour that he is developing software that will do away with online privacy and will put this information into the hands of the highest bidder which happens to be the government. From there we start a very timely discussion of how much privacy is the average person willing to give up in order to stop such international crimes such as black market dealing in weapons, drugs, women, children, body organs etc. At the same time a relationship starts to form between Dina and Gabriel, both of whom have been emotionally damaged during childhood. The story is interesting but not as compelling as her other books. The reader spends a great deal of time inside each character’s head as they stand on opposite sides of the privacy question. Unfortunately the issue come to no resolution at the ending even as their relationship deepens.

I received this ARC from Booksprout in return for an honest review

Gabriel and his team have designed a program by which all the movements on the web will be monitored, thus ending people’s privacy. But Gabriel does it in order to end the criminals who roam freely on the dark web.
Dina is a journalist who along with her colleagues find out what Gabriel is planning and write about it.
Gabriel needs a few more days of silence until everything can be put into motion, so he takes drastic measures: kidnap Dina.
For days he will keep her at his house while his team will make it look like she is unwell but fine.
During her captivity, Dina will get to Gabriel in a way that no one has ver achieved before, at the same time she begins to accept things about herself and her life.
It’s the most entertaining, the truth is that I wish it would be longer.

“I’m damaged, too.” “Then we can be perfect together.” “Together?”“What are the odds of two messed up people crossing paths like this? Don’t you wanna know why it happened?” “I do believe in fate.” “Then what faith is that at all?” “What’s your creed?” “We make of it what we want.” “I’m afraid I may have exhausted all of my tricks trying to crawl out of the darkness.”

“What are you?” I whisper, reaching up with my hands to cradle his face. “I am what you found in the dark.”

This was an amazing read. This book brings us Gabriel Palanick, CEO of Palanick Holdings, and Dina Cormack. Gabriel believes that he is about to change the dark web with his new plan. Dina is the editor of a newspaper that has an informant that is supplying them with information about his plan, and she is bound and determined to make sure that he is exposed. Gabriel tries to threaten her, which only makes Dina even more willing to find out more information. Gabriel is furious that she won't give up, so he does the one thing that he knows will keep her quiet, he kidnaps her. I loved how even as scared as she was, Dina was not going to give into Gabriel. As their time "together" continues, the more that they are willing to talk about themselves, they both realize that they are broken people, and maybe, just maybe, two broken people could "fix" each other. This was a great read and I highly recommend it. I did receive an arc for an honest review.

Gabriel is convinced his new software and endeavor is necessary for the good of the world, even if it will violate everyone's privacy. Dina has a reporter that got a lead on Gabe's software project. They run with the story. After the first one runs and the reporter is threatened, they decide to run the next one under Dina's name. Dina has a hum drum existence, but there are lots of demons underneath trying to get out. Gabe decides to kidnap her to force her to stop running the stories. They both get more than they bargained for. In a totally twisted way they find soulmates in each other, but they have to make it out the other side without destroying each other and their psyches. Great hot read!

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. Gabriel had developed a software that needs to be kept quiet. Dina is a reporter that is investigating things. He takes things to another level to make sure that she does not do her job. He may be ruthless but she gives him a run for his money regardless of the attraction between them. These two find that their lives have completely changed now. They can only deny what is between them for so long before it explodes. This book is full of drama, intrigue, sparks, some darkness, plenty of lust and finally love. Gabriel and Dina have an enemies to lovers story that I enjoyed.

Sometimes disturbing conversation
4.5
This story in this series is quite original by the long dialogue between the two main characters: Dina and Gabriel.
It's well written, and the character psychology part (both a little twisted) is successful, however, it lacks the pull of action, for a good part of the story. The ending is very surprising and I hadn't seen it coming at all.
Gabriel, a powerful business man try to convince Dina, a journalist to stay quiet about his projects.
Having no results, he chooses another twisted way to achieve his goals.

Exciting!!!
Gabriel has been immensely successful and is determined to get rid of the dark web where he believes all of the “evil” powers in the world function. Dina is a reporter intent on revealing what she has learned about his efforts. In turn he kidnaps her to deter her efforts only to become intensely attracted to her and vice versa. Will he be able to convince her that his motives aren’t evil or will she destroy all he has worked to attain? Super characters. Remarkable plot. Great writing. All the elements that make for a terrific read. Hopefully there will be more!

Even the best most ruthless of plans can have a hiccup and for Gabriel his long awaited goal is insight, only he dodmt plan of the fiesty journalist Dina coming to derail them. Sparks fly the moment the two meet. Both with hard determination to see the end of it. But will that determination and ruthless cause more destruction? This is well written with a great storyline that has you hooked from page one! The chemistry between Gabriel and Dina is off the charts!

Dina and Gabriel will take you on one wild ride. Overflowing with drama and chemistry. She is as determined as he is ruthless. Fate brings them together when she as a reporter is investigation his project. He is on the brink of releasing a world changing software and doesn't want it known yet. They are complex and strong characters. The story line is a page turner with lots of twists. A good book that I know you will enjoy. This has a great storyline with plenty of twists and turns, action, suspense, drama, intrigue and steam. I liked the character of Gabriel and his reason to get rid of the "dark" web. Then you have Dina, an investigative reporter, who want to reveal what Gabriel is trying to push through Congress. He kidnaps the reporter to make sure she can't print the story and they both get more than they want. Will they achieve their HEA or destroy each other in the process? Very enjoyable and intense story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Ruthless is quite the ride from start to finish. It has some intense moments as well as some super steamy moments. Gabriel is definitely the embodiment of ruthless!! He captures Dina and keeps her captive. He’s falling for her while simultaneously pulling her life apart as she knows it. The absolutely best part of this book was definitely the end. The culmination of Gabriel’s work plus the true test of their feelings for each other.

He may be ruthless, but Dina is a strong-willed journalist that’s in it for the long haul. When she gets wind Gabriel’s plan, she is all in to unfold it and get the story. Gabriel can’t have that and on top of everything she is a challenge something he loves. Will he get Diana on his side and out of the way for his plan to work? This story will have you glued to the pages, and all caught up in the passion and drama!

There are plenty of sparks flying when ruthlessness meets fortitude. I liked this book. The storyline grabbed my attention and held my attention well. Gabriel and Dina were compelling and complex characters. I enjoyed peeling back those layers to get down to the nitty-gritty of who and why of them. I also really enjoyed the drama, tension and heat that the battle of control and wills these two engaged in generated. This is my frank, freely posted review.

This book is a bit darker. Gabriel is on the verge of a world changing software program and Dina is investigating it as a reporter. She doesn't exactly know what she's investigating but feels that there is something off about it. Both are tortured souls, one recognizes it and the other does not. War, Freedom and Ignorance are what this is all about and its perspectives. When the come together it's explosive.

Nothing much to say really, I struggled so bad with this story and was really bored. Even after reading it I still do not fully understand why Gabriel and Dina were so damaged and why they did what they did. There is a lot of details and explenations about these two charcters missing from the story and I could not find a way into the story. So sadly this only gets two stars from me.

Gabriel Is doing some important work under the radar so he can pass a law without the back lash of private privacy advocates. Dina is that person to blow his work to pieces and now he has to stop her. This will bring this story to its heights especially with their hot attraction. Interesting, engaging, well written plot and romance.

To stop Dina from publishing more stories about his new project, Gabriel kidnaps her which makes it way for a story full of twists and turns, right until the end. While they find out that they are two broken people able to make a whole the sparks are flying, full on chemistry and plenty of drama, a riveting read.

Ruthless...that is Gabriel to a tee. Dina is out to change the world with her articles.

Gabriel and Dina each have their traumas, it’s mentioned often, but very little of the backstory is shared

I was interested in the characters and storyline, but the story fell short and made the story hard to read. I usually enjoy Kelly Myers’ stories, it this one left me feeling bored and underwhelmed.
