Matchmaker

Dear Worst Enemy

Rate this book
He was everything I didn’t want in a match. Too handsome for his own good. Tall, strong, overly confident. A player who thought he was God’s gift to women. The exact wrong man for me. Yet, somehow we ended up paired together at a charity ball. Somehow, we ended up having glorious enemy sex. The kind that could make a woman rethink her entire perspective on life. On men.

But, can a one time thing with the wrong man lead to life’s answers? Can a woman’s worst enemy become the love of her life?

I can't say that I liked this book but it was a fast and short read, exactly what I needed right now.

I think it's just ridiculous that they exchanged their I love yous the morning after they first talked and slept together. Also, in my humble opinion they weren't actual "enemies" since they had never talked before their blind date and the reason she "hated" was his lifestyle (judging much?).

Please let me just say that in 36 pages I've read the word "shrug" TEN times, no joke. At first I thought that I was rereading the same page but I guess I wasn't 🤷🏻‍♀️😑

Oh, and let's not forget the numerous punctuation errors... I'm not one to talk obviously, my English is not that good, but some of those errors made me really confused.

The plus was that, even though it's written in 3rd person's pov, I got into the story easily so maybe I'll give this author another chance.

Not your typical enemies-turned lovers trope.

Not the worst book in the Matchmaker series, but not the best either. I like Erica and William and all but it just felt short. I was looking forward to the love between the two developing between the two (or at least more heartfelt character development) but it was way too short. Would have been better if it was told in two differing perspectives (similar to some of the other books in the Matchmaker series) and more depth in characters so we could see William's take in the story as it mostly followed Erica's side. I also wasn't as attached to the characters as I would like.

I’ve loved all of the Matchmaker series of books from the Flirt Club, mainly due to the theme of Grace and her letter-writing rules. So I was looking forward to finishing off the series and reading another instalment. However, I was a little disappointed to find that this didn’t follow the same formula as the others.
Erica uses what appears to be just a bog-standard matchmaking service to match her up with William. This doesn’t mean this book is bad in anyway it was just a little disappointing that it hadn’t followed the same idea as the others in the series.
Anyway, the story as a whole was a fun and flirty love story, the ending was the usual cliche that felt very rushed, and I did roll my eyes at it. It wasn’t needed and even just a year on to see them living happily ever after together would have been enough.
However, for a 45-page book, I felt like I got to know the characters enough, there was chemistry there. It was a sweet and light-hearted quick read just what I was after just not what I was expecting, which is why I’m a little disappointed. I think if I’d read this as a simple standalone story, I would have enjoyed it much more.

Strong, Quiet type meets Baker looking for HEA

Erica signs up for a matchmaking service tired of being lonely & in hopes of finding her forever. Unsure of exactly why William signed up but he was matched with Erica. When they meet they realize they tentatively know one another. He lives above her bakery & annoys the heck out of her. Making the most of the date isn't easy, William is a man of few words, but they've got nothing to lose, right? Insta-lust, insta-love, sweet, steamy romance perfect for Valentines.

The Matchmaker Series is a collaboration of short stories by different authors linked in the same world. Grab some coffee or wine if you prefer. Get comfy and prepare to be romanced into Valentine's just as these authors know how to do. Swooning!! I love, love, love these short stories of romance with just enough steam to keep it more interesting

No story at all in this. He's a player but he has kne night of sex with her and falls in love! I thought it would be interesting..he has a back story with the boys and girls club, how they'd inreract with. Each other the day after, something.

Also the name of the book..completely pointless and annoying. His type is her worst nightmare but she decides to sleep with him.. why??

Great story

William and Erica haven't formally met, him living upstairs above her bakery and all, but Erica just can't find out why she dislikes him so much. When her date from the matchmaker arrives, shes surprised to fi d out that its William and how well they belong together. Great read.

Love

This was short but sweet. I can’t get enough of these collaborations. William and Erica didn’t seem like they would be for each other but once you started reading you realized they were perfect. Of course he would realize she was it and wouldn’t let her go.

Sweet sweet story!

This story was short, sweet and steamy! 4 stars because "I love you" after one date is always hard for me and if he wasn't looking for a relationship why did he use a matchmaker? That didn't make sense to me.

Cute quick story

This was enjoyable. It is a quick read, with an HEA. It does need some editing, but overall it's cute.

This one made no sense. Why would the guy use a matchmaker if he didn't want to be matched up? Had potential tho

Meh, An Okay Read. 👗🎩

This book ends at 80 percent & a couple chapters from another book this author wrote are included.

This was an okay book, not much too it. The heroine owns a bakery & the hero is a writer. He comes into the bakery for cookies. She watches as his one night stands do the walk of shame.

They are matched up & their first date is at a charity event. They end up having sex. When he comes in the bakery it's uncomfortable for both if him. He confesses he loves her.

It was totally not believable. After all his one night stands we are expected to believable he fell in love after having sex with this woman.

Nope, I wasn't buying it.
