This is a good collection of 10-minutes guided meditation sessions if you need frequent guiding. Personally, I felt that the guide intervened too often, too much. Perhaps that's the purpose of guiding, but I kept feeling that I wished she left me alone a bit, to actually meditate for a while. The background music is, for the most part, pleasant; I'd use them without guiding. Overall, the sessions are targetted for those who wish to pick up various techniques and are suited for absolute beginners.
I completed this as a 21-part audio series. Each meditation was only 10-14 minutes long, so was a painless introduction to a variety of meditation methods and ideas. It was very well narrated, and the narrator's voice was pleasant and soothing. Overall, it was an interesting and enlightening experience. There are a few places that the meditation pattern became a bit rote and formulaic...but, overall, it was not overly disruptive. I will almost certainly go back through this sequence again, to gain new insights.
This is one of the free Aaptiv workout lessons made available on Audible as an advertisement for the Aaptiv App, where there are more courses available by these instructors. I'm not really into meditation on my own, and I would never go to a meditation class, so I'm probably not the key demographic here. But this was good to listen to as a cool down following my outdoor runs, so they served a purpose and were a nice distraction from the current pandemic.
I wouldn't listen to these again, but I recommend them to those who might be interested. I listened to them in order, but not every single day as the lessons suggested.
Her voice tries to be calming, but it so obviously-young-white-girl-channeling-chakhras-and-namaste, that I just couldn't take her seriously. It just seemed like a lot of cultural appropriation without enough respect or explanations discussed about the concepts utilized. I liked the breathing techniques and different hand placements, but I don't feel like I learned anything.
Have wanted to learn to meditate forever. This guided daily meditation is so easy. I found myself on day 6 wanting to listen to it again later in the day and meditate again. That's when I knew I had made a break through with meditation. Each day is 10 minutes and I found it easy to quiet my brain & body for that time through her guidance. I would recommend this for any beginner.
This is a great beginners guide to meditation, ten minutes a day is very manageable. I ended appreciating taking time out of my day to just be still and, well, be.
There were times when I felt the narrator hurried the breathing exercises too much, so I had it playing at x90 speed for a number of episodes.
(This was included as part of my Audible subscription).
I wish each chapter would be longer. I used this as a guide to sleep, so the 10-min guide wasn't quite enough. the voice was soothing and it did help put me into sleep.
A soothing voice and some beautiful guided meditations. The last ones are in sequence to align chakras and were very powerful. Definitely will listen to again and again!
The meditations are okay, not great. I like how it explores different types of meditation so I get to discover what type of meditation I like the most. Jess talks a lot which can be distracting. There are probably better programs for an introduction to meditation so I would not recommend it. However, for me helped kindle an interest in meditation so I’m happy with the outcome.
