Dirtier Duet #2

Her Submission

Rate this book
The second and final book in the Dirtier Duet by Lisa Renee Jones.

Abbie swore that she was done with rich, powerful men. They've hurt her. They've hurt her mother, who she will do anything to protect. She's done playing the submissive. She's ready to fight back.

The problem is that Gabe Maxwell is one of those rich, powerful men and he refuses to be ignored. He's in her path and she can't seem to steer clear of him. He wants her. She wants him. But it's not that simple.

There is more to her story, more than Gabe knows, but then, there is more to Gabe's story than Abbie knows, too.

I liked the story. I liked Gabe and all the other guys from the previous books. It was a bit exciting and sexy and sweet. But these books are just too long. One book would've been enough for Gabe and Abbie. I can count on 325 hands how many times Abbie wanted to run away in these two books. It was just too much - too immaure - too stupid really. No idea why LRJ is repeating so much in her books these days. An editor could've cut at least a third of these two books and it wouldn't have hurt the story.
I will still read Lisa's books, but maybe only the standalones.

Her Submission is the second book in the Dirtier Duet and must be read in order as this book picks up right where His Demand ended and you would be utterly lost if you haven't read that book first!

Gabe and Abbie were instantly attracted to one another when they met but Abbie's ex husband is up to no good, and it seems that even though everything is against her Gabe is willing to standby her through it all.

This book had so much going on I cannot form my thoughts on how to word this review without giving anything away. Just know that this duet was written with so much passion and chemistry you could feel it through the pages of the book. I loved the way Gabe and Abbie cared for one another even after a short time, their meeting may have been a chance encounter, since Gabe's brother (Reid) was the person Abbie was initially looking for but he was on his honeymoon, but it was more like destiny was at work.

I would be a fool not to mention that Gabe has a serial killer dog that he named Dexter, this dog will kill anyone and just about everyone.....with slobbery dog kisses. ;) had you going there didn't I, LOL. I love Dexter, honestly they need to adopt more puppies from Abbie's mom's humane shelter because this killer dog brings out the softer side of Gabe and that was a thing of pure beauty.

Lisa Renee Jones is truly gifted with the way she crafts her romantic suspense novels, they have just the right amount of mystery and suspense, as well as erotic chemistry between the main characters. But that's not all, she has secondary characters that make us want even more and that is where the true talent lies because she has us craving more and more and more. I cannot wait to see what she has in store for us next. Happy Reading!!!

I truly enjoy reading Lisa Renee Jones. You never know which way her stories will go or what will happen. Not everyone is who you think they are and have pasts that will some times make you stop and think. But, most of the times, their pasts is what made them who they are now and the repercussions aren’t as bad as they feel they will be.

This is true for Gabe and Abbie. Gabe feels Abbie will walk away when she finds out about what he has done … Abbie fears that his non-disclosure will do nothing but pull them apart. She comes clean but, it takes a threat for Gabe to finally open up to her. When he does, he’s surprised that she sees another side to everything that he never felt and she’s vowed to make sure he doesn’t feel guilt or shame for anything any more.

This duet was wonderful. It got to the point, brought you deep into the lives of Gabe and Abbie and made you feel a whole bevy of emotions. Gabe may have come off as a hard man but, deep down, he was loving, caring and sweet.

And, LRJ really brought that out. She has a way with words that makes her characters shine, even in their darkest hours.

★4 Stars★

Her submission is the second book in the Dirtier Duet by Lisa Renne Jones and picks up right where the first book His Demand ended. Being a duet, you must read the first book, to get the full story and events.

Abbie's husband, Kenneth, is dead and you think that she and Gabe are free and out of problems to a HEA. But no, things get complicated...Again. With Abbie and Gabe, nothing seems easy.

The first half of the book seemed to pass very slow for me. It seemed that the action went round and round. Abbie begins again with her negative thoughts that she puts Gabe and his loved one in danger.

Gabe on the other hand, he doesn't trust Abbie with his demons and his past, but demands form Abbie 100% trust. Slowly they grow as a couple, and they learn to trust each other. If they want a HEA, they have to work it and fight it together.

Dexter the dog, was AMAZING. I love him very much...And I also loved the secondary characters from Dirty RichCat, Reese, Reid, and Carrie, and of course Blake and his Walker Security team!

Her Submission by Lisa Renee Jones is book Two in the Dirtier Duet. This continues the story of Gabe and Abbie, so you should read the previous book 'His Demand' to fully enjoy this one. This starts right where we left off in the previous book.
We learn more of what had happen to Gabe and what he has done. Gabe has been worried that his past will hurt his future with Abbie. Abbie to is working past her feelings with her own past. These two love each other but their story hasn't been a easy one for them.
Of course this is a steam read and a page turner for me. Loved it.

This was an ok conclusion to the duet. I found the writing better. But the internal dialogue going back and forth was really annoying. I couldn’t get past the the circular back and forth I-trust-you I-don’t-trust-you.

What a great ending to this duet!

This picks up right where His Demand ended. But now Abbie and Gabe find themselves in a vulnerable place. Abbie is ready to call it quits as her past rushes to catch Gabe in her troubles but this time it could put him away for a long time…if she’s not found guilty of the crime first. With each of them struggling to completely trust the other, they wade through a minefield of information to find the key that will lay to rest the accusations sure to be hurled at them.

In true form, this author takes us step by step through the process this couple, as well as their friends and family, must go through to find the person responsible for the murder Abbie or Gabe may be arrested for. Along the way Gabe battles against sharing his past, knowing that with Abbie’s propensity to run, it will surely have her out the door. While she opens up about her own secret pretty quickly, Gabe’s secret remains throughout most of the story.

”I’m pretty sure what’s going on with me right now, can not be described as fear. Are you scared?”
I expect him to laugh or balk but he doesn’t. He leans in close, his lips at my ear, “From the day I met you, baby. From the day I met you.”

I enjoyed watching this couple as they grew closer together and eventually fell into trust and then love. Gabe’s past was certainly hurtful to him, and I was happy to see that Abbie accepted it with open eyes. I’m always expecting a huge dramatic showdown with these books and despite a bit of a letdown when it doesn’t come, I’m always pleased with the ending.

This book has a very nice pace to it, without a lot of repetition. The steam, as always, is sizzling and the chemistry is believable. I loved getting to see other characters that we’ve come to know and love as they embraced Abbie and assisted her and Gabe in the shark infested waters they found themselves. While there isn’t an epilogue, this does end very nicely with a happy ever after, even if it did leave me wanting to know what their future was going to look like a few years down the road.

Live-wire intensity from the very first page. It's all sizzling with threatening energy as this passionate couple, Gabe and Abbie, face the law, the past and a triunvirate of enemies in a last stand. So exciting!

The author's style relies heavily on dialogues, so every pull and push of the plot happens while characters are talking, teasing, planning, verbally sparring and proclaiming their fears, promises and raw feelings in the open.

The main characters are committed to saving each other. However, they're carrying a heavy load of guilt and conditioning from past experiences. Therefore, they demand trust though they cave in to fear of losing each other and their hearts in the process. I think that's why they make mistakes that add lots of tension, duel of wills and bumps into their relationship.

I absolutely enjoyed the dynamics among the characters that conform the series as they come up with strategies to deal with the criminal investigation around Abbie's ex-husband. The intimate scenes are scarce but well placed and passionate ;-)

When the time comes for Gabe to confess his darkest sin, I was taken aback. Wow, that was a pretty brutal bomb. I got why he was so worried that Abbie could leave him. Maybe she should've taken a while longer to forgive such a grave matter. Anyways, the resolution of the conflicts was good, laying maybe some foundation for future trouble.

I can see that man Jean Claude as a fine specimen for another novel :-D And oh, how much I loved all the interaction with the dog Dexter. That was priceless. The final chapters also rounded the characters' closure very well. This is a very worthy duet.

Her Submission by Lisa Renee Jones is book 2 in the Dirtier Duet. This is the continuing story of Gabe and Abbie. Book 2 starts off right where book 1 left off.
Abbie and Gabe find themselves in a vulnerable spot. Abbie's past comes rushing to the forefront while Gabe does everything he can to prevent his part from Abbie from finding out his role that he played in her past plus making sure she's kept safe from the danger that's stalking her. The plot is full of action, drama, angst, twists, turns, suspense, surprises, passion , excitement, romance and love. This is one rollercoaster ride that rode its way to a thrilling end.

An engaging finale to Gabe and Abby’s Duet. Jones has given us so many directions this mystery could have gone in. I was anxious to find out how it would all play out. Jones amps up the suspense with clues and increasing stakes. As we uncover pieces of the puzzle, we are faced with shocking truths.
Repetition and aspects of the conclusion were minor issues for me. I felt that after all the build up with the mystery, the resolution wasn’t as exciting as I’d been expecting. While I had hoped for a little more here, after so many books with these characters, I’m so invested in them and their stories.

Jones continuously delivers fast-paced, sexy, and intriguing stories. I look forward to each one and devour them in one sitting! I can’t wait to see what she brings us next.

Hot romance and a good dash of intrigue turned Her Submission, the finale in Lisa Renee Jones’ Dirtier Duet, into a page-turner of a book sure to keep readers captivated.

First off I should mention that you will want to read this duet of books in sequential order. Book two picked up exactly where book one left off and boy didn’t it start things off with a bang. Lisa Renee Jones turned up the heat level between Abbie and Gabe and she also threw everything she could at them in regard to personal and family issues, just to see how they would react. And I’m happy to say that even though there was some angst and doubts, our couple eventually formed a solid team who battled their demons side by side. *happy sigh* Read More

After reading his Demand, I was anxious to see how the rest of Gabe and Abbie's story would unfold and Lisa Renee Jones did not disappoint! In true fashion, Jones kept us on the edge of our seats and what you initially think may unfold is quickly changed as the storyline twists and turns. This was filled with sensuality and suspense and I could not stop flipping pages. Just when I thought I knew what Gabe and Abbie were willing to risk, they surprised me time and again. Another wonderful addition to Jones' impressive and compelling volume of works.

There is a lot going on when Her Submission picks up. Abbie now is going to have to trust Gabe, Reese, Walker Security, and the family who's welcomed her with open arms to get her through this. And what of her mother? Can she protect her too?

Whew, this was a whirlwind of chaos and moving parts. Abbie and Gabe fall deeper for each other, even as they learn to lean on each other and fully trust each other. They both have a lot of baggage, particularly Gabe, and the harder they fall for each other, the more they'll learn to let go of that baggage and trust the other will still be there when all is said and done.

Gabe may not be my favorite hero of this author's, but he's a wonderful character in his own right - complex, fiercely devoted, and alpha to his core, with a huge heart. I don't feel I quite connected to Abbie as much as I did to Gabe, but I still really liked her and how well she and Gabe complemented each other more and more as they fell harder and harder.

If you haven't read the Dirtier Duet yet, I highly recommend you start today. It's fast-paced and exciting, steamy and passionate with suspense and intrigue weaved throughout.

His Demand is book 1 in the Dirtier Duet and Her Submission is book 2.

I feel like these two can be read separately from the other books in the series as a standalone duet. That is not to say that you won’t be intrigued by the other characters and want to read their stories too, but you could read this duet first.

One thing I have to say upfront is the characters look nothing like the covers on the books, but that is only of note if that thing is important to you. Gabe is blonde and Abbie is a redhead.

Regarding the actual story, it has the typical unexpected twists we have come to expect from LRJ. Gabe had been burned in the past and was not at all looking for a relationship till Abbie pulls the rug out from under him. Abbie finally got divorced from her powerful scary ex but he won’t go away and she comes to the Maxwell firm for help saving the one thing she wanted in the divorce.

At times the story seemed to drag with the secrets that were not revealed (over and over) and yet the ending was wrapped up with the perfect bow so quickly. I would have liked less repeat scenes of trust issues and more meat to the end of the story. Overall another good read!

Hero 5 | Heroine 5 | Plot 5 | Writing Style 5 | Steam 5 | Romance 4 | Angst-Suspense 4 | Darkness 1 | Humor 1 | Secondary Characters 5 | Drama-Conflict 4 | Mystery 3 | Twists 4 | Action 3 | Pacing Steady |

Gabe and Abbie's finale and we finally get Gabe's back story. In previous books of the Dirty Rich series he always came off as the easy going playboy. I like seeing the darker side to him and learning why there was a darker side.

After what he went through, it really surprises me how quickly he let Abbie in. That's part of why I enjoyed this couple so much. It's insta-love but with the struggle you see in a new couple who are afraid to trust.

All things seem to always come back to the father. I can't imagine having a parent as an enemy. Seeing how that has effected Gabe, Reid and Cat has played throughout all their stories. He's added a layer to the story that already had conflict and kept things interesting for sure.

I love that the author keeps bringing in the Walker security guys. I want Savage's story! His nick name is perfect and I want to see a woman tame that man!

Abbie's ex-husband is dead! Now it is really time to freak out!

Abbie and Gabe are both treading lightly wondering if they are going to become prime suspects in the death of Kenneth. Not that either of them would not celebrate the fact that he is out of their lives, but now, all the stress over the pet shelter is about to become the prime reason for the professional hit.

The plot twists and twists again at every corner. One thing remains steady ~ family will stand by you in times of trouble. True family, not Gabe's father who is the scum of the earth.

Great finale to this complex story!

❤~🌟~❤ 4 EXPLOSIVE STARS! ❤~🌟~❤

“This man consumes me.”

Prepare for mega fireworks and juicy drama galore in HER SUBMISSION, the exhilarating conclusion to Lisa Renee Jones’s Dirtier Duet!

PREMISE
HER SUBMISSION picks up right where book one, HIS DEMAND, left off, with the catastrophic news about the untimely death of Abigail Tanner’s abusive ex-husband proving to be a game changer for her sizzling hot relationship with powerful attorney Gabe Maxwell. Now as they find themselves smack dab in the middle of a high-profile criminal investigation, this dynamic duo is hurdled headfirst into danger, subterfuge, and a desperate plight to prove their innocence. There is so much on the line for Abby and Gabe. Their hearts. Their reputations. Their careers. Their very FREEDOM. But even as they find themselves swimming in shark-infested waters, the most threatening risk of all is a dark skeleton from Gabe’s past that could shatter their hard-earned trust and permanently implode both their worlds. Can their soul-burning love triumph over the toughest of battles?

MY MUSINGS:
I really enjoyed the conclusion to the Dirtier Duet! Lisa Renee Jones enthralled once again with this intoxicating page-turner that’s churning with blistering emotion, breath-stealing romance, sizzling hot passion, edge of your seat suspense, and riveting twists and turns!

I always prefer the second books in LRJ’s duets because the connection between her MCs has escalated, the emotional and dramatic stakes are higher than ever, and the high voltage intensity of their interactions never fail to sweep me off my feet. And that’s just what happened in Abbie and Gabe’s story.

While I was expecting a bit of a steamier read with a plethora of highly charged sexcapades (like we got in the first installment), the ones we do get in this book were scintillating, and the chemistry between this couple was EXPLOSIVE! And the love between this couple was never in question! Gabe and Abbie’s feelings for each other were raw and unbridled and tortuously soul deep, and the tension OFF THE CHARTS. And as they work against the clock to save each other, and wrestle with old demons, trust remains a sticking point between this duo.

As with all her novels, the romance and suspense are masterfully intertwined, there are plenty of smoldering sparks and fiery verbal sparring to keep our hearts skipping a beat, and the manner in which the author folds the ancillary characters into the storyline is sheer perfection! It was just such a blast seeing the familiar faces of Reid, Reese, Cat, Blake et all circle the wagons to help the MCs finagle their legal woes, while doing some brilliant crime solving along the way, and ultimately supporting Abbie and Gabe through thick and thin

Speaking of Gabe....Gah. He continues to ROCK MY WORLD! Rich and powerful, funny and sweet, ferociously protective, and oh so seductively sexy, this all-alpha man is the TOTAL PACKAGE! But while Gabe's beautiful, smart, vulnerable and frustratingly headstrong woman willingly surrenders to his ravenous kisses and writhes beneath his hot burning touch, she is still too emotionally guarded for his liking. Which triggers his own deep-seated insecurities because of his own toxic past....

One thing’s for sure: There is NO shortage of combustible push-pull with Abbie stubbornly attempting to keep her distance to protect her man —only for him to fervently reel her back in while sitting on some damning secrets of his own that could push her away forever. I SO admired this heroine’s strength and courage, incredible self-sacrifice and her dogged determination to do the right thing.

And even though she is still a bit gun-shy and more than a little emotionally fragile from her nightmarish former marriage, no other lover has ever made her feel so safe and cherished the way Gabe has—or possesses the power to make her want to submit to his EVERY DEMAND . But is yielding to this amazing man worth the risk of her treacherous present circumstances destroying him in the end?

Ahh…the war continues to be waged for this embattled couple in the most delicious of ways as they are both swept up in a tsunami of guilt and turmoil, lust and yearning and an unstoppable love that just CANNOT BE CONTAINED!

And I would remiss to not give a huge shout out to Gabe and Abbie’s adorable adopted pup! Dexter “the serial killer” was THE BOMB, and the couple’s endearing interactions with their big, smoochy, furry friend totally melted my heart!

BOTTOM LINE:
All in all, this high-octane conclusion to the Dirtier Duet left me gloriously satiated. The love story is electrifying, the story flows at a fast, frenetic pace, the emotions cut deep, and the dramatic and romantic arcs all reach a thrilling conclusion!

Highly recommend!

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date April 23, 2019

•••••••••••

REVIEW: HER SUBMISSION is the second and final instalment in Lisa Renee Jones’ contemporary, adult DIRTIER DUET erotic, romance duet focusing on attorneys Gabe Maxwell, and Abigail ‘ Abbie’ Tanner. The DIRTIER DUET is a spin-off from the author’s DIRTY RICH series. As per Lisa’s style of writing there is a slight cross-over with the Tall, Dark And Deadly series, and the appearance of Walker Security, as well as several characters from the author’s Dirty Rich series. HER SUBMISSION should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the events of book one-HIS DEMAND.

NOTE: If you have not read book one HIS DEMAND, there may be some spoilers in my review.

Told from three first person points of view (Gabe, Abbie, and Gabe’s brother Reid) HER SUBMISSION picks up immediately after the events and cliff-hanger of book one HIS DEMAND in which our couple are rapidly discovering that not everything is going according to plan. From murder to betrayal and vengeance; power and control Gabe and Abbie find themselves pulled into a dangerous game of cat and mouse, a game in which our couple have been targeted for who they are, and what they know. Desperate to protect the man with whom she is falling in love Abbie struggles with the direction of Gabe’s plans, and the investigation meant to reveal who is behind the threats to Gabe and Abbie’s lives, as well as the threats against the people they love.

HER SUBMISSION is a character driven, erotic, intense and suspense filled story line of family and friendships; secrets and deception; power and wealth. Lisa Renee Jones pulls the reader into a sexy, spicy and fateful tale of love, lust and longing. My only issue is the identity of the killer- a little disappointing and unsatisfactory reveal.

HER SUBMISSION is the second book in the Dirtier Duet. This series must be read in the order of release. It is also the twelfth release in the Dirty Money series. The duet can be read in any order of the series, though I always recommend reading a series in the order of release.

If you’ve read HIS DEMAND, then you need to read HER SUBMISSION. You know you need to know the rest of the story. In my opinion, this could just as easily be called His Submission or Their Submission. It just wouldn’t have the same pairing power on the bookshelf. As in the best of all romances, they get past the pure lust to love and they learn to lean on each other, and to trust one another. That is what this part of their story is all about – submitting to the love they have found in one another.

HER SUBMISSION picks up where HIS DEMAND left off. Though dead, Abbie’s ex-husband is causing trouble beyond the grave! In the end, there are other enemies at play and the chessboard will need to be cleared. With the help of the ever-present and loyal Walker Brothers, they are dealt with in perfect Maxwell/Walker fashion. This is a can’t lose team!

The real star of this story though was Dexter, the not-so-serial-killer dog. For anyone who has been owned by a four-footed baby of any sort, you know how much they you would do for them. They reduce us all to blithering, blubbering idiots in the best of ways. They soften the toughest men and make the worst days bearable. When a man like Gabe falls for a woman and a dog, his world changes. I’m just glad I got to watch it happen.

No matter what comes next, I know that I will always pick up a Lisa Renee Jones book.

Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

3.5 to 4 stars

The 2nd act to Gabe and Abbie's story is here! As the story kicks off, it picks up right where His Demand left off so everyone is in crisis mode to deal with the news delivered at the end of the first book. It's all hands on deck as Reese, Cole, Reid and Blake try to figure out the best way to proceed to protect Gabe and Abbie. Of course that means more self-sacrificing comments and actions from Abbie while Gabe tries to cover all her escape routes to convince her that Kenneth will not get the upper hand in her life yet again.

For the first half of the book, I really had to dig deep to find a reason to keep reading because it felt like we were just treading water covering the same ground over and over again. Abbie thinks Gabe is better off without her, she is bringing too much danger to his life and his family's lives, and so on. Gabe is keeping secrets and won't trust her but he wants her unquestioning trust in him. Then finally they both decide they are really going to go all in and the switch flipped for the second half of the book- cue the epiphany moment!! And imagine that, Gabe's secret really wasn't all that bad in my opinion. Maybe I was just beyond ready to finally hear the truth, like Abbie, but it really felt kind of anticlimactic by the time he decided to share.

Without the constant Abbie freak outs, the second half of the book was much more palatable. And we get more goofy Dexter moments so that is a bonus in my opinion! For those who have read some of the author's other books in the Dirty Rich world, you will definitely enjoy seeing more of Cat, Reese, Reid and Carrie. And of course, none of the characters would be able to navigate the mess they find themselves in without Blake and his Walker Security team! The epilogue tied it all together nicely as well to bring the Dirtier Duet to a close.

When Gabe Maxwell walked into her life, Abbie wasn't sure what to make of it. She'd walked away from a rich and powerful man, vowing she'd never have anything more to do with him or others like him. To her dismay, Gabe has torn her world asunder. He's thrown her for a loop, one she's not sure she'll ever get out of. The man incites her baser desires. He makes her question the world around her. Most of all, he completes her in ways her ex-husband never could. Ways that make her want him more with every second that passes.

Her Submission picks up where His Demands leaves off, giving us further insight on the plight Abbie now finds herself in. She's a woman who's had to contend with her ex-husband's displeasure. He's a man intent on making every aspect of her life difficult no matter the consequences. She'd promised herself she'd keep men at arm's length. Most especially those with money and power. To her dismay, she can't do that with Gabe.

I honestly have enjoyed how Lisa further fleshes out this world she's created. There are so many characters to keep track of, I honestly wonder how she does it. These are characters with such diverse back stories. Characters who refuse to remain in the shadows.

She has such a way with this world that none of the characters are cardboard. I kid you not. Every character demands to be seen or heard. So much so, that they'll step in whenever they see fit to do so. That's the beauty of Lisa's unique style of storytelling. Every character gets their moments to shine, even if it's just a moment or two at best.

So can't wait to see what else she has in store for Abbie and Gabe. While theirs is such a a chaotic world, they're willing to do whatever is necessary to tight every lose end. They honestly deserve their happy ending, one I know is truly waiting in the wings.

Yet another brilliant duet has ended!
Her Submission by Lisa Renee Jones is the second part of the Dirtier Duet, and carries on right where His Demand finished. Abbie are coming to terms with the shocking news about her ex-husband and Gabe just wants to keep her safe.
Abbie feels the need to run, to keep Gabe from being tarred by the same brush smearing her. Gabe’s having none of that though. There’s only one way to fight this and that’s together.
That could be the tagline for this duet. ‘Together’. It’s mentioned a lot and meant every time. Gabe has a dark, troubling past that he doesn’t want Abbie to know about, because he’s worried she’ll look at him with different eyes, or leave him.
He may never have planned on being in a committed relationship again, but Abbie changed all that. But her past is causing a problem too, one that could end with one or both of them in jail. Added to this is the complexity of their still new relationship. They had to find their way, and grow as partners. Finding trust where none had been before. They both have to face up what’s happened in their pasts. Gabe finally shares what has held him back and Abbie’s is quite a shock too. Her ex is a bad, bad man, that’s all I’m saying!!
So, they need to navigate the treacherous waters left in the wake of Abbie’s ex and Gabe’s father. It’s a twisty, turny ride filled with some exciting moments, sexy times and family fun with Dexter. I loved this book so much as not only did we get Gabe and Abbie’s story completed but we got to see Reid and Carrie, as well as Reese and a very pregnant Cat.

Gabe and Abbie...aww! Her Submission is part two of their story. This is another whirlwind romance, but once again it is amazing! Gabe tries to hide his past full of pain, behind jokes and laughter. But then this beautiful red head crosses his path and he has a really hard time trying to keep this wall up that he built around his self. Abbie knows he has some secret that made him the man he is. However, she is sure that if he would just trust her with it, it would relieve some of the pain. But Abbie also has trust issues because of how she was treated by an ex in the past. So these two keep hitting heads because of the trust issues from Abbie and the pain that Gabe has. Even though Abbie tries to run a few times, Gabe is not going to have that! He realizes that his life is so much better with her by his side. When Gabe and Abbie go to the shelter her mom owns to help out with the animals, he finds himself attaching to a dog. Gabe feels that they both think alike and that this dog needs Gabe as much as Gabe needs him. So that brings, not only Abbie into his life, but Dexter too! I love the way he interacts with Dexter. Once again, Lisa brings characters from her other books into this one. We get Reese & Cat, Cole & Lori, Reid & Carrie and Walker security. I just love this close net family. I feel you could read Gabe and Abbie’s story as a stand alone, but reading about the rest of the couple’s first just adds to the book(s) for a better understanding how everyone is connected. Another great book that I highly recommend!

Her Submission is the second book in the Dirtier Duet so it's imperative that you read His Demand (Book 1) FIRST! It picks right up where Book 1 left off with Gabe & Abbie facing a big obstacle. And this means that Gabe is ready to protect her while fighting their enemies, and Abbie is ready to run in order to save everyone else. As much as I love me some Abbie, her flight risk factor really started to get on my last nerve to be honest. I get it, she didn't want anyone else to go down for anything that had to do with her past or present, but my goodness, put your damn big girl panties on woman! She had a whole support system who wanted to help, and yet, she was ready to put those Nike shoes on to sprint down the road. Can you say martyr syndrome?! And Gabe...lawd save me from those tortured soul men. These two were perfect for each other, and I loved them together, but they did waste some time with that heavy baggage they carried around. Thankfully, there were twists that pulled my attention from cussing them out, as I started dropping my favorite f-bombs because at the end of the day, there were evil people involved that made everything else pretty silly. Not to mention, appearances of favorites from previous stories, so yeah, totally happy about that, AND a fur baby who was supposed to be a serial killer that entertained me so much. Now please don't get me wrong, I totally loved this Duet, just had some moments that I wanted to shake our hero/heroine a bit! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

I love Gabe. His humor covers up a man who truly believes he is as evil as his father. But he’s very genuine and Abbie just keeps tearing down his walls to reveal a man who needs truth, a man who is more insecure than he will ever let on, a man who has met his equal in her. Abbie is even more afraid to trust. She’s not going to fall in love because she doesn’t believe love exists without the inevitable hurt. But with every reveal of Gabe’s truths, his need and his actions, she finds herself falling.

Reese and Cat, Reid and Carrie and Gabe and Abby. These men have found their anchor in a strong, resilient woman. It’s woven throughout each book in this series. In Gabe’s story we connect with each couple who is their to give their full support because they are family. A family reconnected in spite of the evil their father spews and manipulates. I love this show of support.

I truly enjoyed His Demand and Her Submission. My only thought was that the climax of the story, where the conflict comes to a head and someone wins and someone loses, was weaker than I had hoped. The anticipation as the story built was great. The resolution was great. And the ending could not have been more perfect. I just felt the ultimate face-off was anticlimactic. And I love it when Blake and Savage come out to play. 🤗

I definitely recommend this His Demand and Her Submission because Gabe! I’ve waited for his story. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is the conclusion of Gabe and Abbie's story and it picks up where His Demand ended.
Gabe and Abbie find themselves in a predicament that may tear them apart. Someone it trying to set them up but are they trying to set up Abbie to get to Gabe or set up Gabe to get to Abbie? They have to figure out what the prize would be for them to be set up.
While Abbie is set on not falling for another high-powered billionaire, she is pulled towards Gabe. And she knows he is not like her ex-husband but can she trust herself to be with him?
Gabe wants to protect Abbie from anyone and anything that might hurt her but she is fighting him to keep her freedom. Can he show her he is not like her ex-husband without revealing his past?
There is so much depth to this story that you have to read both books to follow along and it is worth it to read them both. The story is intense, suspenseful, all about family, and finally finding forever love.
If you haven't read anything by Lisa Renee Jones, read this duet and them you will want to read everything else she writes. I love her writing style and her way of pulling you into a story and keeping you there until the end. So grab a drink, get comfortable, throw a blanket over your legs and dive in, you will not be sorry. I hope you love it as much as I do.
