It's close to U.S. Thanksgiving (although I'm a Canadian living in Canada) and I've found something else to be thankful for. Finding this author's books this year has been my absolute pleasure!

When it comes to creating angels and demons and the worlds they exist in, Lexi C. Foss infuses so much magic and wonder and mysticism in her work, I can't help but fall in love with whatever comes out of it. The story of Xai and Eve... magnificent!

🌠 these two have loved each other for thousands of years. Not only was it obvious, it was felt. Their emotions, their feelings, their lust, wants and dreams were present in every part of this story.
🌠 the action... I loved what the author was able to do to showcase each of their strengths. Even when at her weakest, it was Eve's bond with Xai that kept her strong. And then Xai... can he be anymore amazing??? I'm so ready to see what else these two can do.
🌠 the moving plot, which is obviously far from over, kept me engaged and entertained. The next book can't come soon enough for me.

I don't want to give too much away, so I've been intentionally vague. However, I do want to point out that there are a plethora of side characters to be intrigued by as well. From the Archdemons finding their mates to the other Archangels and what will happen to the ancients, to everything in between... I have no idea what's in store for these people but I'll be there for all of it!

As much as I adore the Immortals, the Mershanos and the Blood Alliance gang, I think my heart actually lies with Xai and Eve.

I just love the whole Angels & Demons aspect. I love that both are very different but both corrupt in equal measure. I mean Xai & Eve are fighting for good essentially but they don’t care. It’s hard to explain without giving away spoilers. Just trust me when I say that being VERY bad is a VERY good thing.

I love how this author can world build. Every chapter, every scene I was transported from the mundane of everyday life to that of a world in which my tiny mind couldn’t comprehend, imagine or believe. You get sucked in. Lost into the void. (Thanks David Tennant - The BEST Doctor)

I cannot wait for more of this story. Xai and Eve are just badass!

Highly recommend!

I love it when a new book by Lexi C Foss is released, I know I'm going to get depth, detail, a world I can get lost in, passion, angst and twists I don't see coming, all wrapped in a wonderfully written package. This book is just all that, I was glued to the pages, I loved it!

Son of Chaos is the continuation of the Dark Provence world and I was very excited to have more of Dark Angel Xai and his soulmate Evangeline (Eve) the Daughter of Death, two strong, dominant characters who fit and fight together perfectly!

The balance of power between heaven and hell is shifting, with earth stuck in between. A war is brewing and Xai and Eve are smack bang in the middle of it.
I loved Xai in Daughter of Death, book one in this series, but here he has grabbed a piece of my heart. When his love Eve is taken, he shows just how far he will go to protect his mate, not even the deepest, darkest depths of hell will stop him.

Xai is fast becoming one of my favourite characters across this authors worlds. He's strong, stubborn, possessive, annoyingly cryptic at times, but he is very sexy. I love his dark side, intelligence, absolute loyalty and the caring side he shows very few. He is discovering new depths to his powers too in the this fight between angels and demons, good vs evil, but just who is on which side? The main players are making their moves and choosing their allies, things are not always as they seem and I can't wait to find out more. Some of those demons are very intriguing!
Highly recommended 5 stars

Xai and Eve are back! And Eve is even more badass than ever.

But this time, our intrepid, knife-weilding heroine bites off more than she can chew when she's captured and taken to hell. You think that's it, she's screwed (wait until you see where she ends up!) but.... smh and slap on the wrist for me.... I should have known better. This is Eve we're talking about.

The plot is intricate - you have to pay attention - but oh my, as the layers are revealed, it's a complete WOW. This author really knows how to carve a story rich in plot, characters, and color. So much color.

And Xai is as deliciously cryptic as ever.

Dark clouds are looming, the demons are circling...

Heaven and Hell are on the verge of war.... and Earth is caught right in the middle.

Where will it all end? I, for one, can't wait to find out!

Karin - per RFS
.

Comprensibile?

Un tempo infinito, all’Inferno.

And just when we thought everything was going so well.
Leave it to this author to push us over the ledge!

The bad guy we thought was locked safely away, getting their just deserves, is on the loose again. How exactly do demon lords allow a prisoner to escape?? And now said prisoner, is out for revenge, damn, this is gonna get ugly.

Eve is taken, and Xai will scorch the realms to find her. But there is so much more going on and the traitor needs to die! Xai is the only Archangel powerful enough to make that happen, but protecting his mate is paramount as well. Seriously, this Fallen Angel needs a lesson in adult communication, but leave it to this author to find a way to make you laugh in all this breathless intensity.

I was so captivated by this story that I sat up until 3am to read this story cover to cover. I couldn't put it down, I had to know. If you're not reading this series I only have one question...why?

4 stelle e mezzo

* You need to read the previous book in the series, as this is a direct follow-up.

When the archdemon Ashmedai pops up in their earthly home, Evangeline and Xai know their quiet time together is coming to an end. With the quest to return the escaped Kalida alive or death to Ashmedai's care, Evangeline and Xai travel to Miami to start their search. Then everything goes horribly wrong and Evangeline is kidnapped and taken to hell to be tortured. Now Xai want her back and he has to let to of the creature he leashed within himself.

Pro's:
+ Another actionpacked story enters the series. The events in this book very quickly follow each other and it never stops until the eventual ending. Evangeline and Xai do not lead a quiet peaceful life and this book really shows that.
+ In this book there is, in my opinion, a much better balance between the sexy-times and the rest of the story. In the first book I found the amount of sex too much and disruptive and that is a lot different in this entry. There is less sex, but the way it has been written is better, therefore more enjoyable and it gives less of a feeling of boredom.

Con's:
- I cannot help but feel like huge parts of the story are missing. Maybe this is because there will be other books that follow the same timeline with different characters, but in this case you will be left wondering about a lot of details about this story.

Okay, this entry is a LOT better than the previous book and now I'm actually exited for the rest of the series. Also, there will be other books in the series in the same timeline as this book and I hope that this will clear up a lot of loose ends this book still has after finishing it. In comparison, this book is way more balanced than the previous entry and my biggest irritation is non-existence in this book. Way less sex-because-we-have-to-sex, but sexy times that fit into the story and that are better written than the previous ones.

Oh how i have missed these two Xai and Eve,it seems so long since i had read the first book, but as soon i picked this book up i was straight back into the Dark Provence world that they are a part of and was loving it.

It picks up from where we left off and this has Xai and Eve off on wild goose chase where Eve gets taken off the street and straight back to hell before Xai has a chance to find out what had happened.Eve is a very strong character but being back in hell is going to put her to the test,i love her fight where she never gives up.

The balance between the two worlds Heaven and Hell is changing and shifting, a war is brewing and the plot will keep your guessing in how intricate it is,you will just love the plot that this author has you gripped in as she never lets you up for a moment.

I love Xai he hasn't changed a bit in this story he is still a secretive, stubborn and possessive Dark Angel that loves to play mind games but i just love his character, but saying all that he is also the one true mate for Eve as we get see his softer side towards her.

I love how Lexi crates theses worlds that drag you into her story building that get you sucked right in, where you are lost in her world and don't come up for breath till she throws you out again at the end.I love this fight between Angels and Demons i can't wait to see what this author has in store for us next.

I shouldn't really review this book so soon after finishing it. Because I want more. I need more. But I feel that should be said in my review. I was instantly series from the first paragraph of the first book. I have to be honest, I was kind of skeptical this book would be good. I couldn't figure out how they could pick up from the last book. They did GOOD though.

And of course the characters are amazing. They were amazing in the first one. I kind of wish my succubus was in this one. I'm kicking myself for forgetting her name. I'm horrible with names. Please give me a small break! I feel like I relate to both the main characters so much!

I can't say enough how amazing the narrator Sarah Puckett is. I am glad I discovered her. I have discovered many great books because I've become a fan of her. Warning, listening to a Sarah Puckett audiobook will make a reader addicted to her voice and want to hear more. Tristan Hunt was pretty amazing too. I didn't know you could develop crushes on voices! It's possible though!

Please read the first book before reading this book. I guess they can both be read as standalones, but I don't recommend doing that at all. This author is great. I've read a few books by her so far and she's quickly becoming a favorite author. Fully recommend!

Brought to you by the amazing mind of Lexi C Foss.

What can I say other than OMG WOW!!!! I'm always a fan of Lexi and now is no different. Now bearing in mind I actually haven't read the proceeding book - oops I bought a pile of Lexi's books at Shameless 18 and am working my way through and forgot to read book 1 before book 2. However it really didn't matter; this book does just fine a a stand alone on its own merits and the characters and back story are easy to pick up.

The passion between Evangeline & Xai is incredible and something we all aspire to. The characters are all so real I can picture them in my head and trust me - Kalida sure wears her evil on the outside these days. I loved learning little morsels about the other "deities" demons and supernatural/goddish menagerie throughout the book and really hope there is more indepth exploration into all their stories.

Trust me - when this is released - (January 8th in Wings of the Wicked/April 2019 solo)it should be TOP of your must read list......YOUR REALLY WON'T REGRET DIVING INTO "SON OF CHAOS"

Son of Chaos by Lexi C. Foss is a paranormal romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Sarah Puckett and Tristan Hunt. This is book two in The Dark Provenance Series but the books can be read as standalones.

Lexi did an amazing job with the storyline. I enjoyed the romance, drama, and action that surrounded Xai and Eve. There were just enough sexual scenes to make it a paranormal romance but not enough to distract from the storyline. I enjoyed that book two had more of Xai’s point of view. I hope there will be a third book because I absolutely love this series.

Sarah and Tristan did an amazing job narrating. I absolutely loved this duo and hope to hear more of them working together in the future. They made the story come to life.

If you read Daughter of Death and loved Evangeline then get ready to really fall in love with her mate Xai in Son of Chaos. His character amused me in Daughter of Death but in this book he made me fall in love with him and crown him my latest book boyfriend! Lexi C. Foss continues to enrapture me with her creative worlds and fantastic characters. By far one of my favorite authors to date and this book just adds to the list of her must reads. recensione a cura del blog "Libri Magnetici" by Ila

"Chi avevo fatto ......... per guadagnarmi quel viaggetto all’Inferno?

I cambiamenti più grandi all’Inferno.
Compaiono alcuni nuovi personaggi e vengono fornite nuove informazioni.

Good SL annoying plot holes *spoilers*

I give this 3 stars for the book as awhile and mainly on the areas that annoy me and the extra star is for the story line! I understand you guys love each other sooooo much and you're always hot to have sex but there are times and places to do all the little flirting touchy things and times to focus and they did Not choose the proper times or the proper places! Which led to scenes happening that were just frustrating. I agree with Tax and Remy (whom I was sad only had that Very small scene and likely won't have any others for a while!) And Zeb about them being distracted and open!! I know they had to happen to move the story along but they could have been done and such a way that didn't further negatively impact my feelings on the 2 main characters! When you know something is potentially a trap and you fall into it anyway, and then do something so stupid as to be so engrossed and talking about when you're next going to F. each other you deserve what you get! There were plenty of ways (solid ko in a fight, etc) to have Kalida kidnap eve that could have happen without her freezing over once again foolishly thinking that Xai was dead even though she knows what it takes for or how it is Angels dies she foolishly just sat there like a dummy! If the person you loved was just shoot in front of you, you being the daughter of Death and all should first and foremost have done any and everything to apprehend or kill the person who did it!! And how many times does someone, your mate have to speak in your head for you to realize that it's really happening and not continuously think it's a figment of your imagination! She did it not Only in the 1st book but twice in this 1! Xai once again fails to communicate and causes drama that didn't need to happen to Finish what he needed to finish! Mama Fate is hilarious!! The twist of who the true enemies are was really a twist I didn't see coming which I liked!!
While I'm curious to see how all this is going to play out, I'm not sure I can bring myself to read another book in the series if it's based on their point of views again, as they get to side tracked on each other and sex. However if other books are from different POV I will give it a try as long as they don't err on the same path of annoying (IJS according to my personal pet peeves).

Son of Chaos
Dark Provenance Series, Book 2
By: Lexi C. Foss
Narrated by: Sarah Puckett, Tristan Hunt

Wow, another amazing story in the “Dark Provenance” Series. Lexi C. Foss continues to create fascinating storylines in her imaginative world of supernatural beings, archangels, angels, fallen angels and demons with different gifts and powers. Evangeline and Xie, finally together as a couple have been enjoying themselves. They are summoned to capture the evil Kalida, who escaped from her prison in hell and is about to create more havoc in the universe. I loved how Eve and Xie grew stronger, as a couple and as individuals, they are ready to battle the evils of the world. But that evil was one step a head of them, capturing Eve and sending her to hell to suffer as Kalida did while imprisoned there. Will Kalida crush her spirit and break her, will Xie get to her in time. I loved how it all played out, the uncovering of another evil plan to throw the balance of the world off, by changing power in the heaven and hell. Who are the good guys, who are the traitors helping the bad guys. This is one action packed story keeps you thinking and takes you to the edge of your seat many times. There is never a dull moment, there is lots of drama, twists, angst, suspense and some hot romance too. I love the ending and the promotion the Son of Chaos and the Daughter of Death received. Thank you Lexi C. Foss for another fascinating story, I am looking forward to what comes next.

I listened to the Audible edition, narrated by the wonderfully talented Sarah Puckett and Tristan Hunt. They continue to bring these characters to life giving each character their own voice and personality. I love how Sarah captures Eve’s badassery and Tristan does wonders for Xie too. They set the perfect tone and pace for the story, add the right amount of dramatic flair which enhances the story another level greatness. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fantastic listen🎧

I can't believe that I actually preferred when they hated each other. Their flirting in this book (mostly in the beginning) was cringy and incredibly repetitive. We get it, they get off massively on violence and blood, especially with one another. I like saccharine, I like sweet, I like romance, but the interaction between these two, now that they get along, was over the top and all I could think of is how unbearable they must be around their friends. I was legitimately relieved when Eve got kidnapped, I was bordering on DNFing the book 2 chapters in. And I liked the first book.
I also didn't really get when Xai kept repeating that Eve would never be alone and he would always follow her when he doesn't actually do much of that during this book, like she's missing for a year/years (depending on which realms you're counting time in since time in each realm time moves differently to one another) and he clearly couldn't follow or find her in that time. It just lacked sincerity. I found a few minor inconsistencies as I was reading, didn't write them down but just noted them while reading, they weren't world breaking.
The world building was interesting and well done, the story's is interesting and engaging, though some bits were too drawn out and lacked momentum. The writing was also good as usual, but this one didn't really do it for me. I went from liking Xai and Eve to really not wanting them to be on the same pages together anymore.

L'ho vista troppo debole e remissiva, e legata in maniera ossessiva a Xai.

Eve and Xai are back! Great news for those readers, like me, who have been looking forward to the next instalment of the Dark Provenance series.

Picking up where the Daughter of Death left off, their story continues and they once again venture back into the depths of Hell, sadly not voluntarily. But, in Son of Chaos, we get to see more of Heaven too, which is great – lots of lovely wings 😊

I love a strong female character who can fix her own problems and get herself out of difficult situations, and trust me, Eve excels at this in Son of Chaos. And I adore her character – she is so cool. And I am crazy about Xai, because, well, why wouldn’t you be?

We also get to find out what has been happening with some of the other Archdemons and Archangels too, and what mischief they have been making while no one has been watching.

Another great PNR from Lexi C Foss – this series is light hearted, and while there is an element of darkness, overall, this is a fun read – perfect to while away a lazy Sunday or on a beach. I can’t wait to see where this series goes and who we will hear from next.

Highly recommended.

Foss delivers again! Another must read for any paranormal / fantasy lover

"For Eternity?"
"For Eternity."
A vow.
A future.
A love worth the world and more.

Please place your trays in the upright position - fasten your seat belts and hold on tight - you are in for one H E L L of a bumpy ride!

Xi and Eve finally get a break - celestial bodies know they deserve it - some alone time just the two of them, to relax, maybe spar a bit -get the blood flowing 😏
Though it doesn't look like the fates are quite on board with their plans. With a bit of arm twisting Xi and Eve find themselves soul deep in the pits of hell though this time it looks as though one of them may not be returning to the heavens.

I do not want to give any spoilers - with all honesty this is a read you want to go into blind if possible - Just be prepared for lots of hi-jinx, sordid betrayals, twisted revenge, never saw it coming plot twist and soul-shattering heartbreak as only Foss can deliver!

If you enjoy Angels vs. Demons , heart pounding bloody battles of good vs evil rounded out with the perfect mix of passion -

Wait, why are you still reading this? Go - One Click !!!

Son of Chaos is the second book in the Dark Provenance series by Lexi C Foss. This story was fast-paced, engrossing and captivating and it had me hooked from beginning to end. The author created a world that was so well detailed you could picture everything happening with ease. Angels, Archangels, Archdemons, Demons and so much more, this was paranormal at its best. I loved the characters, Evangeline and Xie were both well-developed characters and I loved seeing how their relationship blossomed in this story.
I loved the storyline with all its non stop action, steamy scenes and twists and turns, there was never a dull moment and I was totally consumed by this story.
The audible version of this novel was narrated by Sarah Puckett, Tristan Hunt. These two did a phenomenal job with this story. They brought the story to life with their portrayal of these characters. Their pace and timing was spot on and I enjoyed listening to them.
I would highly recommend this story to all lovers of Paranormal romance.

Son of Chaos is the second instalment in the Dark Provenance series which takes place just weeks after the end of book one. Xai and Eve return to earth only to be pulled back into the events of book one when they discover Kalida has escaped her hellish prison and is out for revenge.

This was a emotional and dark as Eve is kidnapped and tortured. Xai tries desperately to find his mate with the help of their demon allies. We delve deeper into the planes of Heaven, Hell and Earth as their varied timelines give an added drama to the heartbreaking scenes of despair the two fallen angels experience when apart.

I felt this was a stronger book than its introduction. Their relationship has withstood so much that it was hard to envision they could make it through much more. The strong themes of revenge, trust and their undeniable chemistry made for a compelling read. I particularly enjoyed the scenes from Xai’s perspective as we finally gained insight into his cryptic decisions.
