Once Upon A Red-Hot Kiss by Lauren Blakely
Everyone knows friends are off-limits in the sack. A man needs to stay far away from falling into bed with his best friend. Even if she’s sexy as sin, sweet as candy, and damn near irresistible every single day. But not only are Macy and I best friends, we’re also complete opposites. She’s perky, upbeat, outgoing and I’m . . . how shall we say . . . a little bit broody. Then Valentine’s Day comes around, that dreaded holiday that I hate and she loves, and it seems Macy is determined to make me change my mind. Determined as in she’s decked out in red, lacy lingerie, a naughty grin, and a head full of dirty ideas. I just might need to revise all my rules on friends in bed.
Seaside Serenade by Melissa Foster
They say opposites attract, but for former boxing champ and gym owner Brock Garner, having the beautiful dark-haired, tattooed, combat-boot wearing pixie Cree Redmond flitting around his club has nearly driven him mad. Brock has wanted her since the first time he saw her, and when he learns she has the singing voice of an angel, it speaks to another part of his heart and he’s unwilling to hold back any longer. But Cree’s dating a burly biker and is firmly off-limits. Or so he thinks…
Shadows of You by J. Kenner
For two long years, Stark Security agent Denise Marshall has been alone, mourning her missing husband. But everything changes on Valentine’s Day when she encounters a mysterious man who seems to understand her deepest desires.
Dirty Sweet Valentine by Laurelin Paige
Amy’s not much for holidays invented to celebrate an emotion she hasn’t felt for years. Not since Harrison Steele left. But on February 14th, he’s back. And it seems that Cupid’s arrow is still lodged firmly in her heart.
The Bedroom Experiment by Kendall Ryan
When your stepbrother is a hot hockey stud with more notches in his bedpost than, well anyone, he’s the perfect candidate to help you gain a little bedroom experience. At least that's my plan this V-day.
Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA. She nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorise and she hadn't taken her first breath!).
Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana but has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write.
Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multi-generational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland and existed amongst the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).
Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.
And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.
I only read Indy and Lee's story and whilst it was great to visit with Lee again because LEE, I'm kinda sad. Why? Because I saw a glimmer of the old KA style of writing shining through that I thought had been lost forever with the crapfest that her newer books have been.
It was super short and I wouldn't have bothered with it had it not been free *shrugs*
This book consists of 6 short stories that have as a main subject Valentine’s Day. A Rock Chick Valentine by Kristen Ashley ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Once Upon A Red-Hot Kiss by Lauren Blakely ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Seaside Serenade by Melissa Foster ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Shadows of You by J. Kenner ⭐️⭐️ Dirty Sweet Valentine by Laurelin Paige ⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Bedroom Experiment by Kendall Ryan ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I was never a fan of short stories and once again I proved myself that it’s not good to keep trying doing something I don’t like even tho I keep hoping that something might change. I’m the kind of girl who likes details and I crave to know more. These short stories were so SHORT that I felt like I read them in a minute. And they left me wondering “what’s next”? So, yeah... the rating I’ll give to these short stories gets around 3.5 stars. 😁
*Warning* I am biased against KA, so my review will not be favorable! I read the KA Valentines book I am not a fan of the rock chick series, though it does have all the usual elements and if you liked the first book you will like this one. I've realized that this author has a certain idea of what men and women should act or behave , and I do not agree with it. Its sad though because i loved her books a long time ago.
Exclusive collection! Six delicious standalone short stories designed to bring both the sexy and the sweet this Valentine’s Day.

This should have been amazing. These are a group of great authors and what’s more perfect for romance than Valentine’s Day? Alas.
A Rock Chick Valentine by Kristen Ashley - an outtake from some series. Probably people who have read that series will love this. I was merely bewildered. There were twenty-five named characters in a 5,000 word short story? That’s 23 more than needed to be there. This is a big nope for me.
Once Upon a Red-Hot Kiss by Lauren Blakely - friends to lovers, set up as a prequel I think to a series about secondary characters in this short, but here it works because there are only the two mains and a couple of side characters who furthered the plot. Enjoyable short story.
Seaside Serenade by Melissa Foster - another outtake from a series, this one too had a bewildering number of useless named characters, but at least the two mains were really likeable and there was some plot. Decent.
Shadows of You by J Kenner - (I feel like that pseudonym is Kardashian-inspired). This is not romance. . Just no.
Dirty Sweet Valentine by Laurelin Paige - this is *exactly* the same damned story as the one that precedes it, except a whopping 15 years have elapsed, and with the same damned ending. Nope. That’s not romance. I skimmed mostly.
The Bedroom Experiment by Kendall Ryan - I got far enough in to determine the premise (a virginal girl needs lessons in bed from her older sporty manwhore step brother) and decided I value my dignity too much to finish it.
Awesome free anthology from some super authors. I loved the Rock Chick Valentine, especially. So nice to revisit Lee and Indy. But all of them were super fun, short reads that add to their famous series. So I was thrilled to get this one!
Be Mine : 6 Valentine’s Themed Shorts Overall : 4⭐️’s
1. A Rock Chick Valentine : Kristen Ashley : Liam ‘Lee’ Nightingale and cashews...’nuff said. Although, not ‘nuff said’ LOL, because I wanted more. I’m greedy like that with my KA faves. 3.5⭐️’s
2. Once Upon a Red-Hot Kiss by Lauren Blakley : Kirby & Mach are friends-to-lovers sweet, steamy goodness. Will likely add other titles from this world to my TBR. 4⭐️’s
3. Seaside Serenade by Melissa Foster - Confession : this is my first time reading Melissa Foster and I loved everything about it this well written, perfectly paced, sexy short. Supporting characters mentioned interest me enough to look into other titles within this series. 4⭐️’s
4. Shadows of You by J. Kenner - Not my first time in the “Stark World”, but only my second interconnected short - my first was in the Lexi Blake crossover collection. So while the main characters here are not familiar to me, I knew enough of what was up in the bigger picture to be comfortable. I did feel a little dropped into the centre of the story, however I was ok with it as it was as sexy as it was suspenseful and intriguing. Now, if the author intends this short to be a tease for what is coming for Denny & Mason’s story, I’d say fans would be gaging right now. If not, boy would I have masses of questions. LOL. 3.5⭐️’s
5. Dirty Sweet Valentine by Laurelin Paige - I’m all about LP’s “DirtyFilthySexySweet” titles so devoured this and freakin’ loved it. Perfectly steamy & sexy, Amelia & Harrison (and his filthy mouth) left me wanting so much more - in the best possible way. Also, this short is the epitome of when a HFN is executed to perfection. 4.5⭐️’s
6. The Bedroom Experiment by Kendall Ryan : Annnnd another confession: while I have several titles waiting on my kindle, this sexy, steamy short was my first Kendall Ryan read. A semi-taboo element story, the emotions, actions & reactions all felt real for their ages and was as sweet as it was hawt. A perfect tease into the world of KR’s new & upcoming Hot Jocks (Hockey) Series. 4.5⭐️’s
A Rock Chick Valentine by Kristen Ashley Indy’s book wasn’t my favorite with her OTT antics, but I couldn’t resist the cuteness of this short story! It was sweet, sexy, and funny!
Once Upon a Red-Hot Kiss by Lauren Blakely Kirby and Macy’s story was a sizzling friends to lovers story! I loved the jinx, hot kisses, and the red lingerie...Kirby never saw it coming...
Seaside Serenade by Melissa Foster Brock and Cree could have solved a host of issues if they had owned up to their attraction sooner! Although, it was funny everyone else knew before they did.
Shadows of You by J. Kenner I haven’t read any books in this series and didn’t really get the dynamics between the two characters. However, I am intrigued enough to look into the Stark Security series.
Dirty Sweet Valentine by Laurelin Paige Amy and Harrison are...complicated. Even they know they’re complicated. However, this was a perfect teaser for Sweet Liar!
The Bedroom Experiment by Kendall Ryan This was my least favorite of the bunch. There’s nothing wrong with it, I just didn’t care for the 19 and 21 year olds age bracket.
BE MINE: A Valentine’s Collection is a mixture of sweet and sultry; sexy and sinful short stories; most if not all are part of established or upcoming series.

The Bedroom Experiment by Kendall Ryan
When your stepbrother is a hot hockey stud with more notches in his bedpost than, well anyone, he’s the perfect candidate to help you gain a little bedroom experience. At least that's my plan this V-day.
REVIEW: THE BEDROOM EXPERIMENT by Kendall Ryan is a new adult, erotic forbidden romance short story in the author’s Hot Jocks Series focusing on step-siblings-twenty-one year old, professional hockey player Morgan and nineteen –year old Isla. Isla is an inexperienced virgin, and after being dumped by her less than worthy boyfriend Isla sets out to seduce her step-brother in the hopes of learning a few tricks of her own. THE BEDROOM EXPERIMENT is a very quick, erotic read wherein the forbidden fruit becomes temptation personified.
I will preface by saying I do not like the majority of novellas, but this was a freebie and I was in the mood for some fluff so I gave this a chance. If I were to average the rating for all stories in this collection, it comes out to 1.8 stars so this collection was definitely a bust for me.
A Rock Chick Valentine - 3 I haven't been a fan of KA's latest works so I went into this with very, very low expectations. KA has a habit of ruining characters when writing them into subsequent stories so I was a little nervous for Lee and Indy, but this was a cute little addition to the Rock Chick saga.
Once Upon a Red-Hot Kiss - 1 Terrible. First of all, the dialogue between characters was awkward. Nobody talks like that. Secondly, the sex scene was so cringy. It's full of dirty talk which is fine, except the characters described were nothing like their bedroom counterparts. It's like the author had a hot scene on file and inserted some lame filler around it to make this story.
Seaside Serenade - 3 Eh. This is a book that I probably would've liked better as a full-length with more character development. It was a solid 4 stars to start off with, but I had to knock my rating down one for the whole a capella/singing thing... lol. Would've been better without that little detail.
Shadows of You - 1 What the fresh hell was this? So, from what I could understand, the woman's husband is on some sort of secret mission and has been for the last two years with no contact. She gets treated to a night of pampering when her husband (at least we think it's her husband but she never sees him and it's implied he has plastic surgery anyway?!) feels her up and then disappears once again into thin air. Weird.
Dirty Sweet Valentine - 2 This story was pretty similar to the last one, mysterious secret agent and all that, except the two characters aren't married. Almost just as dumb.
The Bedroom Experiment - 1 Ughhhh. So virgin step-sister and step-brother are alone at home while their parents are at a conference or something. Step-sister gets broken up with by her boyfriend over the phone because of her lack of experience so she wants to try some hands-on stuff with her step-brother for "practice". Yeah. I'm not against the taboo but the female in this story is the definition of stupid. She's supposed to be eighteen? Nineteen? But written like she's 12.
A Rock Chick Valentine - I can never get enough of Lee and Indy, and this fun little Valentine's day catch up with the original KA couple was no exception.
A Rock Chick Valentine by Kristen Ashley 4 stars I received a free copy of the short Valentine's story A Rock Chick Valentine by Kristen Ashley in the Be Mine: A Valentine’s Collection of Sexy Short Stories and this review was given freely. Frustration, envy, and a happy ending. Frustrated with the man she has loved since high school and determined to have her first romantic Valentine's date with her husband Lee, Indy makes secret plans for Valentine's day that her busy husband hijacks.

Depicting loneliness, love, and attraction via some mildly suggestive texting, thoughts and conversations, this short story features two hopeful "couples" who are interconnected by blood or friendship but hesitate to lose their friendships by taking a chance on love. Good descriptions, wonderful characters and an excellent lead in to a sequel.
Seaside Serenade by Melissa Foster 5 stars I received a free copy of the short Valentine's story Seaside Serenade by Melissa Foster in the Be Mine: A Valentine’s Collection of Sexy Short Stories and this review was given freely. The Bedroom Experiment: by Kendall Ryan 3 stars I received a free copy of the short story The Bedroom Experiment: An Erotic Short Story by Kendall Ryan in the Be Mine: A Valentine’s Collection of Sexy Short Stories and this review was given freely. An introduction to a college break and stepbrother erotic romance. Rookie hockey pro Morgan has an erotic encounter the first night of watching his 19 year old freshman college stepsister Isla when their parents take a holiday alone.
This is a sweet little valentine story about Macy and Kirby who were side characters in the Heartbreakers series. Kirby sings duets with his sister, Ally. Macy works for them as their manager.
Kirby is jaded about holidays and especially about Valentine's Day since he feels like it has brought him nothing but bad luck. He is funny, smart, but kind of grumpy and introverted. Macy is his complete opposite. She is perky, positive, extroverted, and adores all holidays to the extreme.
They are good friends, but each have been harboring crushes and they have no clue how the other really feels. They are both afraid of losing their friendship.
Will paper hearts and cupid's arrows this Vday finally inspire one of them to make a move out of the friend zone or will it just be another ho-hum holiday?
This is a cute, fun, and sexy story about friendship, luck, and love. I really liked Kirby and Macy and the whole opposite personalities attracting. I enjoyed getting more with Ally and Miller before their book Once Upon A Sure Thing.
---------------------------------------- A Rock Chick Valentine by Kristen Ashley
This was a fun little slice of life with Lee and Indy Nightingale on Valentine's day. They are busy parents and date plans tend to end up getting cancelled often due to work or other obligations. Indy is being all Rock Chick this year and is taking V Day plans into her own hands since she thinks that Lee will forget and is going to fail to do something cool and romantic like the other men they know. Indy just wants to be romanced, will Lee come through?
It has some cameos of old friends and brings back the feel of the Rock Chick books. It actually made me miss the crew.
***Note I did not read the others in this compilation

Once Upon A-Red Hot Kiss was a great quick read by Lauren Blakely. This is a Heartbreakers short story. Kirby and Macy are best friends, so in Jiirby's mind, she's off limits. It doesn't help that they're also complete opposites. Kirby hates Valentine's Day and Macy is determined to change his mind. Seaside Serenade was a great read by Melissa Foster. Former boxing champ and gym owner, Brock Garner has been driven wild by his new hire. Cree Redmond is a beautiful dark-haired, tattooed, combat boot wearing pixie. 3.5 stars. This was a fun, free Valentine's anthology. I enjoyed a few stories a lot and a few I did not like. Here are my thoughts:
A Rock Chick Valentine by Kristen Ashley- A quick catch up with Lee and Indy. Fun, but not a full standalone story like the others.
Once Upon A Red-Hot Kiss by Lauren Blakely- A cute, fun standalone best friends who have always-wanted-each-other-to-lovers. I felt like these two really adored each other and were meant to be.
Seaside Serenade by Melissa Foster - Another fun, sexy, romantic read about a gym owner and his employee who have been crushing on each other since they met who finally get together.
Shadows of You by J. Kenner - This was a really different type story. A woman and the love of her life who is a spy. The two can't be together because of his job. They are both with other people while separated. I did like this story up to the end and then I didn't. It does not have an HEA and I felt very bad for the h.
Dirty Sweet Valentine by Laurelin Paige- This was another different type of story. A woman's husband disappears a few years ago while on a security job. Her friend's give her a massage for Valentine's day. The masseuse blindfolds her and she thinks it is her husband. She never finds out and he leaves. Another non-HEA. I felt very sad for this h.
The Bedroom Experiment by Kendall Ryan - A step-sis asks for sex tutoring from her step-bro. They have a hot encounter and that's it. Very meh. Didn't love either character or feel a connection. Just sex, no HEA.
There you have it. While this anthology was a mixed bag for me, it was still worth a read and I really enjoyed several stories a lot.
Six short sexy stories, each by a different author:
Shadows of You by J. Kenner - 5 Star Part of Stark Security and the main characters are getting their own book that takes place after this story. Not an official HEA, but that’s okay since they are getting a full book. Sexy, erotica, a little mysterious.
Seaside Serenade by Melissa Foster - 4 Stars Part of Seaside Summers series. Well written, sweet and sexy, total alpha male, makes we want to check out the series.
Dirty Sweet Valentine by Laurelin Paige - 3 Stars Part of the Dirty Universe and not an HEA. It’s sexy and emotional.
The Bedroom Experiment by Kendall Ryan - 3 Star This is connect to the Hot Jocks series. Not really a fan of this author. While it was definitely erotic, the poor background details were bad. Step sibling story, step sister home for winter break (college student) for one week (winter break is more than a week), step brother is a pro hockey player and he’s two hours from home. It’s hockey season, how can he take a week off? Also why does a freshman in college need a babysitter?
Once Upon a Red-Hot Kiss by Lauren Blakely - 2 Star While I love this author, the story was just ok. The sexy times were there, but nothing spectacular, very lack luster.
A Rock Chick Valentine by Kristen Ashley - 1 Star I’ve never read anything by this author and wasn’t familiar with any of these characters. Nothing really sexy going on. Too many secondary characters discussed/mentioned. Just a pissed off heroine because her hot hubby forgot Valentines Day
Wohoo, who doesn't love a collection of lovestories by six bestselling authors for free?? Not me, I love love love it. Be Mine contains: A Rock Chick Valentine by Kristen Ashley. Come on can you ever not be enterttained by a KA book? That's gonna never ever happen to me. 5++ stars. Once Upon a Red-Hot Kiss by Lauren Blakely . From the Heartbreaker series, Kirby and Macy. Seaside Serenade by Melissa Foster Brock and Cree. Shadows of You by J. Kenner, Denise and Mason. Dirty Sweet Valentine by Laurelin Paige, Andy and Harrison. The Bedroom Experiment by Kendall Ryan , a stepbrother short story, Morgan and Isla.
