Mr. Thomas Simon is a keen observer of behavioral dynamics, an avid photographer, and a nature lover. Owing to his voracious reading habit, he is known by many as a knowledge hub. He has been writing poetry since his school days, and his passion continues with great vigor to date. When he is not delivering powerful talks and influencing minds, he is found reading at a beach, traveling across the country, and engaging in social activities that benefit the local community.
Poetry was all about self expression of whole aspect of life till the advent of social media .I have read several poetry books by new age author whose experience revolves only around sex, modern love, breakup and wine.the agony of forcing myself to read shallow poetry(they are not poems, they just two line quotes) drowned me with desperation for deep thoughts. With confusion in mind, bought the kindle edition of Silces by Thomas simon which contains 30 poems in total. Expected the same shallowness, but surprise was awaiting for me in the world of Thomas. His keen observation of his surrounding is striking and expressing his observation through writings require immense respect. All 30 poems cover different theme with simple observation ,must read for those who cherish classical poem with modern touch.
I honestly have a hard time reviewing fellow poets work. Poetry is a different form of writing. What one views as beautiful and wondrous, others may see as dull and surface fluff. I like that the author appreciates the little things and tries to bring them to life with words. This isn’t a flowery, pretty or form poetry type of book which actually makes it unique in many ways. While it’s not a book that screams well seasoned poet I admire the willingness of the author to put their writing out there for the world. What doesn’t fit for some will fit for others. I enjoyed the fact that a lot of the poems were nature based. As a nature lover I feel like I connected with the author on that level.
