A Breath of Fresh Air

Thrifty and Thriving is filled with practical ideas for both living thrifty and enjoying life to the max. Jennie's book is filled to the brim with real life examples from her own life, including how to create great memories without breaking the budget. She shows by example that it is not about deprivation - it's about focusing on what means the most to you. I am very inspired by her "live life to the fullest" approach. The book is very positive and upbeat. A definite must read!

Good easy read.

I read this book in an evening while waiting for my kids gymnastics practice to end. I have always tried to be a frugal and thrifty person but I have found myself slipping more lately. Sometimes reading the advice of like minded people can help motivate us to keep going. Its worth i!

This was a fun, easy read with practical tips you can use right away. Jennie is advocating for a joyful, intentional life through being content and making the most of the money you have. I would recommend it for anyone starting a new stage of life: new job, newly married, new parents, new stay-at-home parents or anyone tired of the stress of finances in their life.

Love this little book! It was full of helpful little tools and gives a great perspective on being thrifty. She helps the reader understand that it doesn't have to be a lot of work. It was fast and fun and I appreciated the whimsical little illustrations throughout the book. I would especially recommend it for young couples or anyone wanting to get a better handle on managing their money.

interesting quick read

This book was an easy read, I finished it in a couple hours on a Sunday afternoon. I already consider myself to be thrifty, I enjoyed reading what the author does to hold onto more income. You can always learn something new, and I found a couple things to make reading this worthwhile.

Helpful reminder

While reading this book, I re-evaluated my budget, re-established my financial goals. I was in denial about my finances and lacked the discipline to follow a budget. This book has motivated me to forgive myself, but not forget and press on.

This book is really concise, but offers some great advice to those new to trying to make more frugal choices. I didn't personally find anything new in here, but I do think it is a good choice for the total beginner and it was still an enjoyable read.

Very interesting book and well written

I'm an old hand at saving money and this reminded me of the Tightwad Gazette, which the author also loved. Very enjoyable read.

I can't take advice from someone who spends $115 on a haircut, when I spend like $30 yearly.
