I never read anything from this author soooo i was going in blind when i read this book.. it was fast pace pretty okay book..

a semi wild college girl kinda settling down in a job to put on her resume.. El is very passionate about her work and very kind and a workaholic also independent she clicks with a old friend in the intern group.. and she also clicks with the big boss Griffin now he is a good book boyfriend silly, charming, smart teasing but he has some tiny flaws...but Griffin wont go after her since shes working for them.. even if she has a tiny crush she wont act on it.. so El goes on a date with another guy things dont work out between them since well he was using her and he is engaged... ouchhh.. Griffin finally had enough and he goes after his girl.. misunderstandings and drama are tossed in..can griffin make things right..

The date with the intern wasnt really necessary.. but i guess it was to push Griffin to finally go after your girl..

Low agnst, no cheating, mentions Griffins ex (big misunderstanding with her from el point of view) and mentions the guy El went on maybe 2 dates with some dancing..and maybe a kiss or so.. with NO SEX with OP on both ends, drama, slight secondary chara, sexy times, not a manwhore and not a virgin gal..

Holes!

Just to many holes in this book for me to love it. It was slightly entertaining but the holes in the plot, the characters, and worst the believability made me not love this read.

Says El is a party girl but not built on. She wants this internship, gets it, with help of her sister who is dating his friend. Gets the job, he feels something for her, she does good on her 1st day, showing him she is smart besides sexy. He gives her a lead job on a new magazine they will be launching (really, an intern???). She has two dates with a fellow student turned co intern, that blows up fast. The insta-love, his "bad" ex that isnt fully utilized in the story.

I think more words, better editing and plotting, a twist worth writing and this book could of been 4-5 stars.

Could we just take a minute and complain on how badly the cover was chosen for this book? I'm not even talking of the fact that heroine had blond hair and hero was clean shaven (and also had a 'dirty blond' hair). I'm talking of someone thinking this picture could have been used in so many books. Yes. This is a third story that I have read in the last 6 months that have used this picture as their cover...

But let's get back to the story. It was a quick and quite pleasant read but I would not recommend reading the title and the blurp as this is the whole story happening. The biggest disappointment I had was the fact that all the secrecy was stripped off the book and there was no element of surprise left when reading. Yes, I could have guessed this would happen, as this was a total cliche of a read, but still, even my guessing game was taken away from me after reading the book description. It made me sad. I might have cried a little.

Anyway I really enjoy those very predictable reads a lot. They're my guilty pleasures that will always have a place in my reading time. They're my cures for reading slump, my chill pill during PMS and best friend when I need one.

Cheers !

El gets an internship at Castile Hotels where Griffin in the CEO. Sparks fly between these two and they start a secret relationship but when El ends up pregnant she decides to run. Will they find their way back to each other or will someone keep them apart? Fast-paced read with plenty of drama, emotion and steam. I really liked it.

Plot holes. Why the big build up with the skeevy dude intern, just to have it disappear with a convo with yet another intern? Why the big build up with the boss/intern relationship when no drama actually happens from that end? I hate when a h has a big misunderstanding in the form of thinking she caught the H literally cheating on her, and IMMEDIATELY forgives/forgets even tho he was lying. Yeesh. A little grovel is pretty necessary. Eye rolls over that shit. So many eye rolls. (No actual cheating happened.) Then all the work stuff just disappears. Which was odd.

Meh. I wasn’t super impressed with this one. I didn’t HATE it. Didn’t love it either.

I really enjoyed this story.
This is a first time author for me. I like her writing style and loved the characters.
This book hit on multiple tropes. You have the taboo boss/employee, his best friends girlfriends sister, the older man/younger woman and finally the surprise baby. And, surprisingly it all works.
Like most shorter stories it’s lust at first sight and a lot of their backstory and the getting to know each other is abbreviated. But you get enough.
I loved both Griffin and Janelle (El).
Griffin was not the typical, rich love ‘em and leave ‘em Playboy. He’s not looking for a long term relationship but he’s not opposed to them. After being burned badly by his ex, he is extremely cautious when it comes to getting close to a woman.
El is not the usual summer intern that comes through the door. She is much more mature than her fellow interns. Smart, logical. She’s not opposed to having fun, going out a little drinking, a little dancing. But come Monday morning she’s ready to buckle down and work.
These two had chemistry. Both fight it for about two days. Then start the slow flirting dance, that leads to some steamy time between the sheets.
My only issue was, I’m not sure how these two could have been surprised by this pregnancy. Not once, anywhere in this story is the word condom mentioned, let alone used. No talk of safe sex, or past partners. Just going bare from the first moment. Granted El was supposedly on the pill, but still, I would think safety first.
The other thing that bugged me, and this in no way affected my review, was the cover models not matching the characters descriptions. Griffins nickname is Thor for goodness sake. He’s tall, blonde and blue eyed. El is also a blonde. How difficult would it have been to find two blonde models?
I will look up this author again.

Baby was no mistake of course

https://ladiikeiii.wordpress.com/2019...

•••can’t say it's few spoilers but I’ve written information from the book; so there’s a possibility!!! ****

So okay this book wasn’t as good as Fake It... but it was better than the book with her sister; not sure if I will finish that one idk. Depends; but as I was saying. This book is actually good! I was glad that Griffin found someone that can love him and appreciate him the way that Janelle has... it’s interesting to see that it didn’t pop her best friend up in the end or did it when it was written about her best friend...

But in the end; the best part of this book is Griffin and Janelle son 😂😂😂 when Janelle was talking to her sister and stated that “Once, he overheard Griffin and me talking about building a pool house out back. Griffin wasn’t interested, which is why we still don’t have one, so I thought I’d try bargaining. I told him I’d give him blowjobs every day for a year. Still, to this day, if the wind blows Quinton’s hair out of place, he yells, ‘Stop with the blowjobs!’”

& the other part about when she said, “Oh, God, you know I’ll never get Vincent out of that thing, right?” I laugh. “Yeah, I have the same problem with Griffin at times. I usually have to lure him out with sexual favors.” “What’s sectool flavors?” Quinton asks, coming into the kitchen. (Which she stated about getting Griffin out of the treehouse)

Then he ended up repeating it 😂😂 when Allison said: “If I could get this one to take some time off from work, we’d be here every weekend.” She motions toward Vince. Quinton tugs on Alison’s shirt. “If you want him to not work, you should just trade him sectool flavors!” That’s the only time I really laugh with this book!

GREAT characters, in a STEAMY and swoon-worthy MUST-READ!
"BABY MISTAKE" is another enticing tale by author Alexis Winter. The blurb gives readers a taste of the story’s premise, but it doesn’t tell readers is what they really want to know. NO SPOILERS!! “BABY MISTAKE” is a wonderful romance that begins in an office but is NOT the typical office romance. Instead, “BABY MISTAKE” gives readers a wonderful story about the redemptive quality of an unconditional love, freely given and without conditions. It is a story about a remarkably gifted businessman, Griffin, who has walled off his heart, finding fulfillment in working hard and making money. Then he meets El, Janelle, one of the new Summer interns and his work, work, work, mentality no longer meets his needs. What El does to his heart is amazing, but change is never smooth, and then there is that “office romance taboo” thing, also. “BABY MISTAKE” kept my attention focused, my eyes glued and my emotions running overtime. It is a GREAT novella, well-written, and well worth a reader’s time and the price of admission. While I voluntarily read an early copy of “BABY MISTAKE” to prepare this voluntary and honest review, I have to admit this is one of my favorite STEAMY novellas by Alexis Winter – which I will be purchasing when it goes live. If you have never read anything by author Alexis Winter or are looking for a short steamy read with amazingly memorable characters, then please purchase your copy of “BABY MISTAKE” today! Happy pages! 😉

Sweet and sexy with some deliciously naughty moments…
I couldn’t put this book down. I think it might be my favorite of all of Ms. Winter’s books!
Janelle or El to her friends has just graduated from college and before going on to graduate school she hopes to get an internship, which will look good on her resumé. What she’s afraid of is that her sister’s boyfriend, Vince who owns the Castille Hotel chain has put in a good word for her. She does indeed get the internship but proves herself on day one when she resolves an ad dilemma for the interns’ new boss, Griffin Karlsson, head of advertising. Griffin has been hurt by love but can’t deny the attraction he has for El Ryder. She has noticed Griffin also b/c he is OTT good looking, after all his nickname is Thor with his Nordic good looks. The only thing is that Griffin is about 10 years older, jaded by romance and “stuffy.” Could they have a future? Does she even want one with him? The title gives away a bit…hmmm.
There were so many good moments in this book. Like when Griffin stands transfixed admiring El going down the hall to the elevator, the coffee spill scene (hilarious), having lunch at his mansion, the kitchen scene, in the nightclub bathroom, her dream future (poignant), in his bathroom and the epilogue! I’m sure there are more but these stand out. This is one book that I’ll be thinking about for a long time. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through Booksprout and it comes highly recommended. 5+ stars.

Janelle meets Griffin when she takes an intern position at his company. She is a bright, confident woman with aspirations of going to graduate school and eventually getting her dream job at a publishing house. Griffin has dedicated his life to his career, especially after his bitter betrayal by his ex. He is all work with little to no play. When he first sees Janelle, a spark of attraction is lit....a spark that begins to smoulder once he realizes she is smart and knowledgeable too. When he decides to make his move to show her she is interested, he is put off when sees her speaking privately with another intern. As it happens, the other intern is a schmuck and Janelle is soon free for his pursuit. So he chases, then snares, then seeks passionate encounters with her. Their passionate relationship outside of work soon engulfs them both leaving them dreaming of a future together. A surprise pregnancy and a supposed betrayal soon put a hitch in their dreamy future. Will they have a happily ever after, or will they let their fears and insecurities tear them apart? This is a fun, sexy romance with plenty of steamy, intimate scenes. Enjoy!

Janelle had just graduated from college and was looking forward to graduate school and to fulfilling her hopes. Griffin was fully established and his company was offering internships. Griffin knows Janelle's sister and her boyfriend and is convinced to offer her one of the positions. The internships included an offer of a job at the end of the period for the outstanding intern. Griffin was immediately captivated by Janelle and admired her abilities. He selected her to work with him on a special project. During the course of the internship period, Griffin and Janelle began a relationship. Each was in love with the other but was afraid to voice their feelings. Janelle was uncomfortable sleeping with the boss but since she was not looking for a job she continued the relationship. When Janelle experiences doubts in Griffin's fidelity she decides to leave the program, the city and Griffin behind. Will Griffin be able to convince Janelle that he is faithful and wants a long term relationship? The story has a HEA and I would recommend it to everyone.

Janelle “El” applies for an internship between college and graduate school. Working and learning at Castile Hotels will add creds and experience to her portfolio — and she aims to be the shining star among the 10 interns selected. Her ideas and instincts are a pleasant surprise to CEO Griffin Karlsson, and her curves surprisingly gobsmack him. Within days, they’re each fighting an electric attraction to the other. They decide to “try out” a secret relationship and go slowly, but things get hot and heavy very quickly. She knows sleeping with the boss is a bad idea; he knows sleeping with an intern 10 years younger than he is a recipe for disaster. They quickly fall in love ... but you know the results from the title. Oh-oh! And before El can share the baby news, Griff’s sophisticated ex-flame suddenly reappears, perhaps to burn down what they have. Can they work it out, face the music (lullabies?) and build a life together? Will facing dirty diapers and other parenting responsibilities pour cold water on their new relationship? My advice is: read this book. It’s a good one!

A job internship brings along with it a love and a change in life.

Love how this story transpires.  Janelle's sister pushes for her to get an internship at the company she works at.  That's a stepping stone for Janelle once she goes through grad school.  It will most definitely look good on her resume to land a job that she has her heart set on.  But things don't always work out as one wants.
Griffin must choose the internship candidates and he already has Janelle's application listed as on of them.  When he sees her, there is an immediate attraction he feels towards her.
Things revolve around the two of them and Janelle keeps impressing him her knowledge.
The relationship is very interesting and the hot sex between the two of them once things get established.
Then there is a fantasy that Janelle has and little by little Griffin can see his role in it.
Loved this story as it begins well, things in the story happen and especially the ending has been followed through.  So well done.
A definite book to get and read.

I received an ARC of the book and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

Janelle, nicknamed “El”, takes an internship at a hotel where Griffin Karlsson is the CEO, worried that his new intern -- hired as a favor for a friend -- might turn out to be less than he wants for the job. However, he finds a strong, intelligent young woman who is capable of handling performing the work perfectly! Although attracted to her, she is 10 years younger than he and is now his employee. His experience with his ex-gal also soured him to relationships.

In a short time, El and Griffin realize their strong attraction is not going away and decide to do a trial, secret relationship. Both know it’s not the smart thing to do, not a good idea in so many ways. So it’s almost inevitable that she becomes pregnant. Many issues and considerations now arise, complicated further with the reappearance of the ex and El’s jealous response. Is their relationship strong enough to last and hold together under the stress? Or will El run away to face this on her own?

This is a good story that will keep the reader interested from start to finish. It is well written and flows easily. The characters are likable and I look forward to reading more from this author!

Good

3.5 Stars
I liked this story more than I thought I was going to. It started out with the heroine Janelle kind of interested in another guy. He was a fellow student/intern with her. They went out a few times and only kissed and things sizzled out quickly. I’m not a fan of the H/h being with op in my romances but this was pretty mild even if it didn’t add much to the story. Janelle and the hero Griffin get together very quickly after this and fall for each other pretty quick. I think I would have believed in Janelle’s feelings more if she would have had the same reaction to him right from the beginning as he did for her. I hope that made sense.
I liked the two of them together. They were natural together, comfortable and had good chemistry. I definitely appreciated that he wasn’t a manwhore!
Safety and Spoilers
This is mostly safe. The h goes out a few times with another man before getting involved with the H. They only kiss. H is only interested in h right from the beginning. Both are non virgins and H is not a manwhore. No abuse. Minor drama with H’s ex that gets resolved very quickly!

Griffin Karlsson, head of advertising at the Castille Hotel chain isn't happy about getting an intern who is a friend of his bosses new wife he really doesn't want to have to deal with a straight out of college airhead, he is pleasantly surprised when Janelle Ryder or El to her friends solves a advertising problem on her very first day. Griffin has to admit he is also attracted to the stunning young woman but no way will he get involved in a relationship not after having his heart broken by his ex. El is also attracted to her Thor like boss and one thing leads to another and they are soon seeing one another but before she can tell him her news his ex returns. Will he pick El over his stunning ex how will he handle the baby news You will have to read to see if they get their HEA. This book flows well and has some quite hilarious moments that will have you laughing out loud as well as some moments that will have you sighing in angst but you will definitely feel the vibes throughout the entire story

Wow! Talk about sparks and dynamite. Oh man, this is one exciting, heart pounding, pulse racing, smooth flowing, page turning delight that's as riveting as it is captivating. This one click wonder will take you in deep as you follow along this fantastic journey. Alexis really throws her talent and imagination in this magnificent storyline and hard hitting plot. All the graphically detailed descriptions really bring this bad boy roaring to life spectacularly. All the drama, fear, uncertainty and a little intrigue make for one thrilling experience. Twists and turns abound with unexpected surprises, along with a few bumps and bruises for one wild ride. The main two characters chemistry is intense, white hot and explosive. If I am being completely honest, I have never been let down by Ms. Alexis Winter and Baby Mistake is one of the best romances if have ever read; by any Author. This release is full of twists and turns and a love so strong, that it will keep you completely enthralled, from beginning through to the end. Griffin might be the boss but all it takes is Janelle, aka El, to knock him off his axis. There is a reason he's closed off, so why is it that El can get through his defenses? However taboo having a relationship (of any kind) with your Boss may be... Imagine catching 'feelings' and a pregnancy. What happens now? Can these two amazing characters find their happily ever after? You have got to devour this release ASAP.

I voluntarily requested an advanced reader's copy of Baby Mistake in exchange for my honest opinion and I strongly encourage all romance junkies, like myself, to read this book, as well as anything written by Ms. Winter.

Baby Mistake
by Alexis Winter
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Griffin Karlsson is one hot looking man with a bank account to match. Janelle (aka El) Ryder is his intern for ten weeks. What happens in those weeks is more than either one expected. El is a real go-getter and is entirely thrilled to be working so closely with her new mentor. Maybe too closely. This was a cute, fun story about how first impressions can change quickly...for the better. But, as enthralled as El is, things get a bit out of hand. She ends up giving her place in the internship away and runs. What's going to happen when Griffin realizes she's gone? Can he, or she, accept the change in their relationship? Is it really a relationship ? I really liked both the main characters as well as most the ancillary cast . A good read...very sweet, sexy and enjoyable.

OMG this book has it all! Forbidden love, betrayal, ambition, unexpected loyalty and bravery, steamy sex. Alexis has done it again. You will love her attention to detail. The depth of emotion. How the characters pull you in to their lives.

There are bumps in their road to HEA. An old enemy who just might be an ally, a cheating, lying wanna be friend, office intrigue, and sex. Yeah steamy sex. Their story is amazing. Don't want to spoil it for you.

She left him breathless at first glance
El had him at “hello!”. Griffin never stood a chance and even though it was obvious that he and El would end up together, they had to overcome their insecurities.
Candice had not only broken Griffins heart, she had soured him off relationships and he'd sworn that he'd never give his heart to another woman, until he met El.
Perhaps it was because El had her whole life planned out, with a baby appearing somewhere in the distant future. Griffin had assured El that he’d “give up everything for love”, but that statement was so vague I wasn’t surprised that EL was ready to run when she had bumped into Candice leaving his home on that almost fateful morning.
Awesome plot, intriguing characters, true love does conquer all and it doesn’t have to be perfect.

3/5. I thought this book was OK. I did like the concerns both main characters had with being in a relationship together; I thought the issues they had were realistic. I liked how they discussed the futures they both wanted and acknowledged the fact they both had different pictures for them. I just wish there was a lot more development in their relationship. I felt it was too insta-lovey and they kept on talking about how much they made each other grow when I didn't even get to read about the growth that much. I would have really loved to have known more about their pasts as well; I only got bits and pieces of it. Overall, this book was OK; I just think there were pieces missing that could have made it better.

Griffin is attracted to Janelle almost instantly. He is the sweetest, most swoon worthy alpha ever. Janelle is determined to prove herself, stay professional, and keep he life on track. She is not mousy or obnoxious but strong and independent. I like that there wasn't an over abundance of angst between the characters. There was some sexy banter, a little indecisiveness and a lot of steam. This was a great installment to the Castille Hotel Series. The integration of previous characters and a couple new characters really helped pull the stories together. I read it cover to cover in one sitting and would recommend to anyone looking for a lighter romance.

If these two could just have been more open to letting the other know it would have saved them both a lot of angst but it would have deprived us of an absolutely outstanding read. Janelle was bound and determined to keep her working relationship with Griffin strictly professional but chemistry like that cannot be denied for long and, lets face it, Griffin is not only exceedingly hot but is also just a fantastic man. Misunderstandings, Janelle fleeing when she really shouldn't have and Griffin's efforts to find and convince her that his intentions are serious make for a wonderful read with characters that are rich and vibrant and who you won't be able to help yourself falling in love with.

3.5 stars for Baby Mistake by Alexis Winter .

Griffin is a workaholic and Janelle/El is the new intern . Griffin has felt nothing for a women in years, so is shocks him when he gets feelings for his new intern El . She is his best friends fiance’s sister. She is also at least 10 years younger than Griffin . El just wants to be recognized for the job she is doing , however she is attracted to Griffin but thinks he could never want to be with someone like her. Well what happens when they get closer and El gets pregnant? Will these two make it or will El run .
This book was an okay quick read. I would have liked to get a little more in depth with their relationship but it was still a could book. It is worth reading .

This one is a really sweet boss romance and ooopps baby but all in all a great American heartland hea! I loved how real and true this author kept the romance. Griffin is so likeable and I love how he shows his family values by asking El's sister for permission to date. I also like how the characters reactions are kept appropriate and real to the situation they are presented like when Griffin finds out when El's pregnant or when Carolyn tells El about Chase's little secret. It made the characters more real and relatable even though the book is a quick read

Baby Mistake is about Griffin, a highly place hotel employee, and Janelle, a marketing intern working at the same hotel. They meet and the chemistry is instant. Over the course of ten weeks, their relationship speeds forward until a stumbling block threatens to derail the romance. This is a story of a slightly older man and a new college graduate who appear too different for a relationship to work. But as in all romantic reads, they find the HEA ending. Griffin and Janelle are strong and wonderful characters. Although this story is more fluff than substance, a true romantic needs a little fluff in her (or his) life!
