No more Blake Pierce books for me ☹️

I really like Chloe and her difficult personal life. I suppose the investigations aren’t specifically dark or surprising, but they’re enjoyable to read.
The reason I can’t read book 5 and find out what happens next is because of the typos. 21 errors in this book!!!!! It just drives me crazy. I mean, who proofreads these books? Is he trying to save a few pound? I’ll certainly not be spending anymore of my money on books written by someone who can’t be bothered to check for mistakes. I’m done.

This might be my top favorite series from Blake! In this book, Chloe is sent to find out who murdered a wealthy influencer, after recently moving to the DC area. This case takes her around multiple theories and as she continues to dig deeper, the answer is staring at her right in the face. On the other side of this storyline, we have the situation between Chloe, her sister and her father. The cliffhanger in this book was AMAZING – I’m interested to see what Danielle’s thinking and what her thought process is, especially after some of the decisions she makes throughout this book. I also found it interesting that Chloe was pulling from her personal situation in regards to her case, and that really her instincts are something that she should go off of, seeing as in the end her suspicions were pretty on point. Something I love most about this series is how it’s really two situations being worked on at once. We get one resolved with each book, but the other is just added to, making it more complex and the readers more attached. Genius! I can’t wait to find out what happens next, and of course another great read from Blake! After all the successful series Blake has written, of course this one is a hit as well.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This was the best of the 3 following the first I’ve read. My second favorite in the series so far. While there was still less suspense than I would have hoped, and more interviews than I would have liked, the motive for money was a new one! Organized crime always finds its way into these kinds of books and it finally has. I also thoroughly (and sadly) enjoy Danielle’s slow descension into insanity. She has her father bound in the trunk of her car. Chloe isn’t going to be too happy about this.

But Chloe does it again, even with Rhodes as her partner and not Moulton. I do still hope she finds love in this series. Her close encounter with death in this one made me love her more!

I love the way Blake writes. I have read several books in many of the different series written by Blake. There is always a strong leading female character, lots of page turning "who done it" and of course a surprise cliff hanger ending! I highly recommend you give this book (actually the whole series) a read. Can't wait for book 5!

Excellent Chloe Fine Mystery!

I love this series, in fact, I love all of Blake Pierce's books! This one was especially fun and keeps you on your toes throughout. Lots of suspense and twists and turns and a thrilling ending.

Just one complaint, the editing. So many typos and misspelled words....

Psychological thriller, layered characters

Another enthralling Chloe Fine novel. Chloe is a first year FBI agent who seems to be doing very well in the Bureau. She is still working through psychological problems with her father and twin sister which began twenty years ago with her mother’s murder.

I really felt like Chloe and her story was growing on me, but the ending of this book left me really angry and upset with the characters... well 1 in particular. I don't want to give any spoilers, but Im really stumped now on how i feel.

The case was also a kind of blah case. A rich girl ends up dead and all of the witnesses act like hissing cats. Im hoping the next book picks back up!

A wealthy lady moves into a new neighborhood and begins to show off and brag about her wealth. Soon she is found murdered. FBI agent Chloe is assigned to the case to find out if she was murdered because her neighbors were jealous or is there another explanation for her murder. At the same time Chloe is dealing with doubts and suspicion about her father and trying to figure out her next step with her personal problems.

Completed at 29 june 2022 took 7 hours to read it fully in a span of 4 days
The book was good just like the previous book of the series it had a conflict of opinion between Rhodes and Chloe which was kind of unexpected the book didn't had a really good twist but was good enough to be read completely
The ratings from me will be 3.5

Parfait

Lire la série est un vrai régal, vivement que ça dépasse 6 tomes. L'histoire est pleine de rebondissements, autant sur le plan personnel du personnage principal que dans sont travail

Masterful psychological Mystery

Not necessary to read all previous books in the series but each one builds upon the other and this one gives more insight to the making of Chloe Fine and her drive to find a murderer while facing her own nightmares. Never can wait to read the next.

Murder with ties to money laundering and drugs. Chloe and Rhodes take them down, but I still want Moulton back.

Again, very poor editing

My second favorite series of Pierce’s.

Very addicting; in fact his other series are too. Chloe Fine is going neck-to-neck with the Riley Page series. Great female characters!

Not my favorite one in the series. But it was very intriguing that throughout the whole book you had no idea who the murderer was but in the end it kind of just pops out. That was awesome.

All I can say is “Chloe get your head in the game”
If she focused more she would have caught the killer sooner.
