Want to know how to ruin a holiday? Have the guy you gave your virginity to, and then dumped you to move to another country, show up. Not kidding, it definitely puts a damper on the holiday festivities. Especially when your current boyfriends take an instant seething dislike to him. What's a girl to do? Get falling-down drunk, that's what. At least there was plenty of pie. On a good note, ex-boyfriends are a much smaller problem to deal with than angry hungry demons. I had that going for me, too. Somebody stole the Blackwell family grimoires from back home and decided to open a roaming portal to hell in Cedar Falls. Of course, demons don't find anything yummier than a smorgasbord of local residents… Now I have to find the witch who did it, and find a way to seal the doorway to hell, before we run out of food. I mean people. It's a damn good thing I have a coven that loves me. I didn't mean it that way. Get your mind out of the gutter.
First Moon is an adult novel intended for mature audiences only. It contains graphic language and sexual situations. 18+ readers only! This is a medium burn reverse harem where the girl gets all the guys. Why Choose?
Adventures continue for Dot and her witches as they source new blood for their coven, thankfully witches and a couple vampires from her mom's coven are willing to migrate....unfortunately Dot's very powerful but slightly kooky grandmother decides she wants to move too. To makes matters worse her ex boyfriend shows up expecting to be welcomed with open arms and to make a home for himself in Dot's coven, now Dot has a new business being revamped, another member added to her harem,an ex that brings out jealousy in her new boyfriends, 2 familiars and a grandmother who accidentally opened a gate to hell....well Gehanna at leastw
********* This series is crazy fun, I like that each book offers something different and you never know what Dot will get up to next. The mcs AND secondary characters are all likeable, the plot is funny yet interesting and the romance and sexy times are well done so I'm loving this series.
All is not perfect however I'm tired of Dot's spending habits The Chief's attitude can be annoying sometimes I absolutely DID NOT like that scene with Dennis, I have no problems with Dot and Jimmy's antics but I felt Dennis was already sorta involved with someone else even though they'd had a falling out. That one scene smacked a little to close to cheating and made me look at Dot as a bit skanky. Jimmy needs to ease up on the voyeurism
All in all while I had some issues I weigh heavily in the like favor on this series so far so I'm eagerly moving on to the next
This book was definitely better than the previous book. This one has some whacky things that happen but also some very big inconsistencies as well. So the book could benefit from editing for sure. The issue is with regards to who stole the books and then who turned out to actually steal the books and their explanation. Overall I do enjoy the antics of this series, I just wished it was more polished. It be even better than it already is.
I’m already moving to the next one and I’m happy that Dot finally added a bit to her harem even if she hasn’t explicitly said they were her boyfriends. At least not yet.
A nice continuation of the series. I was a bit unhappy with Dot recklessly expanding her harem and not taking into consideration other members of the harem, however, since they were not "official" (for lack of a better word) this was only a minor slight in my eyes.
If anyone has recommendations for less expensive means to my audiobook habit, I’d much appreciate it. Especially considering I’ve gone through $40 in less than 2 days… halp! Plz! 🩷☠️
It’s frankly rare, generally speaking, for a series to get better the further along the series gets. That said, this type of series—7, 7-ish hour books—is usually bundled into an eventual 3 book series that is longer. In all honesty, I appreciate how this series is broke up with exception to one thing: THE COST!! 😧
I am an audiobook nerd and can’t let go of the format… but 1 credit @ ~$10+ USD for a 7 book series?! And I listen to these at 1.3x speed…. It’s hard to digest. Alas, this is a first world problem and my own fault to boot.
$40 is what I spend on a week of groceries for crying out loud! And KU voice to text option wasn’t available via mobile last I looked and it’s sub par on most days.
I'm falling more and more in love with this series as it goes on. The Plot, characters and the writing style just sucks you in.
Out of all the characters, I have a serious soft spot for a Jimmy and Jason. How can you not love these two *swoon*. I also love the addition of Dar in this book, I absolutely love his sarcasm.
Dot's adventures are getting wilder every time and I love it! I really enjoyed how her relationships and magic are developing. It was also really fun to meet her Nana and see more of the crazy family. I'm definitely addicted to this series!
Dot is settling in Cedar Falls, figuring out her relationships, and building the coven. I really like Dot. She is fierce, and I love how open is with the guys. Chief can be a bit of a jerk, but Jimmy is hilarious. I am intrigued by Dar, and can’t wait to see what happens next :)
I am really enjoying this series. Love the characters in this interesting story and cannot wait to see what happens next. So happy this author decided to put her imagination into books and then share with us,the readers!
I. LOVE. THIS. SERIES. Seriously. The best. The pacing is great. The banter is hilarious. The love interests are pumpkins. I need more Dennis and Jason!
The Cedar Fall's population is about to grow. Several residents from Dot and Josie's hometown who want to relocate are being given the opportunity to join the new coven in CF. Soon the town will have a florist, a bakery, and even an apothecary. However, not all of the residents are as desirable! Certain family members, ex boyfriends, and the entire demon population that seems to be finding their way through the town's newly added roaming portal. Dot must find the cause and a way to seal it before the entire town is devoured.
This doesn't sound like the premise of a funny book but there are so many moments of hilarity in Dot's life that I keep running back for more. Even the most dire situations have a touch of ridiculous when she is involved. My only issue with her is that her drinking has passed from being sloppy to disgusting at times. Girl needs to slow down. At nearly 100, she should have outgrown the drink until you puke and pass out stage. Stop at a glass or two, not a bottle or two! I have to say that I love, love love the idea of the new residents. Several are fascinating additions. Dot's familiars have added another great layer to the story as well. Between the town, coven, friends and family, familiars, and her businesses Dot's life is full these days. I didn't get my doorbell dinner cliffhanger(s) this book but at least there was a meal involved! Let the lighthearted binge-reading continue.
This series just keeps getting better and better 😍 and nana is the icing on the crazy top. That cliff hanger though so glad I don’t have to wait to find out what happens next.
Here we have another portion of Dot’s life in Cedar Falls as the newly appointed High Priestess. The main focus of this book was the relationships between Dot and the men in her life, and the main storyline of a random appearing rift into another dimension. Still had plenty of steam just like the others. Dot’s character is still one that I enjoy to read. She is flirty with her men, but resolute and commanding when she needs to be as the leader of the coven.
I did have a couple of complaints on the direction the author decided to take with certain situations but it is purely what I find to be enjoyable and what I don’t. One of them is the whole thing with Dennis and Dot. In the beginning of this series, I was hoping for a relationship between those 2 but it seemed as if that wasn’t the plan for them by book 2. Now we are at the end of book 3 and I have had another cycle of those emotions. Without going into incredibly spoilerish details, this felt a little too close to cheating on Dennis’s part. And with Dot knowing the drama between him and the witch he had been dating, I would have expected her to make a different choice than the one she did. Just my opinion, doesn’t mean how the author conveyed this relationship between Dennis and Dot is wrong.
I am still going to continue this series, especially since Dar has returned. Him leaving was another gut punch direction the author was taking that I didn’t enjoy, but I am glad he isn’t lost to Dot as I had originally thought. I am excited to find out about the next exciting drama that finds Dot and her little coven of witches.
Book three really worked for me. There was suspense and mystery, and there funny and sexy too. Cedar Falls keeps getting bigger with more and more witches moving into the area, and of course Dot’s grandmother decides she is going to be one of those witches. Dot’s grandma is crazy, like bonkers crazy and more than a little scary. Right off the bat we have Dot getting a new familiar, with Dar the dog/hellhound. He’s amusing and protective, and generally I think I really good familiar who ends up being far more than he seems. This book is once again one where we are on the look out for whoever is killing people in the town, but at first it really seems like it is an animal or something. Of course it ends up being something more and we get a little bit more world building as we learn about Gehenna/Hell. The relationships are still moving forward. Chief is still annoying me with the way he acts with Dot. Jimmy is still an amazing boyfriend, and honestly I feel like him and Dot are the strongest couple emotionally, there really feel like equals in the relationship. I like how things are coming along with Jason, he’s such a sweet guy and not at all the angry boy we met in the first book; plus he has so much potential so it’s great seeing him really coming into his own. Derek, Dot’s first love/boyfriend shows up in town and honestly I disliked him right off the bat, jury is still out on him. Overall, I really liked this book, and I thought the end scene, the big scene was really well done and exciting. I’m very interested to see how things turn out with the elves in the next book.
Good Steady world-building continues. Really appreciate how the mundane and magical are woven together. Descriptions continue to be well-done without overpowering the story. Characters continue to be entertaining, especially Jimmy. Love that the main female character keeps falling off the pedestal the other characters keep trying to put her on. Great new character addition. Enjoyable relationship building. Entertaining character interactions, including the smut. Especially the smut! The plot-driven storyline was woven into the story much better in this book than the last two. The humor makes the books. Every one of them has been out loud funny.
Neutral Cannot read as a stand alone.
Bad Uncomfortable with the main female character being so much of the focus of her best friend's girlfriend, both the physical and the servile nature of it. Find it weird and creepy. Uncomfortable with the only main non-white character being, in essence, a slave to the main female character. Really uncomfortable with how she is asexual but being forced to experienced sexual feelings second-hand. Really did not like that Dennis was more worried about Dot's feelings than his girlfriends about his voyeurism, especially given Dot is an issue between them.
Third Charm was so much better than the second book, I was happy to see it's improvement and engagement towards the plot that was missing in the last one.
The story starts off from the point I was looking forward to, visiting Asheville and sadly it's not one of the focal elements for the book but it does trigger the things that do matter for the plot and it was actively building up towards the end fight scene where Dot does get a nice spotlight to be a hero and honestly I liked seeing her kickass and get that solo time. It adds to her strong independent character. Also unlike the second book where the fight was underwhelming, this one had pretty decent space to play out.
Other characters besides Dot were great as well, specially Nana and the interactions between Dot, her nana or her mother were always funny. Again, the dialogues goes without saying were hella smooth flowing. There is obvious progress in the romance department with new addition to the harem and it's nice to see the pace towards a relationship for the guys being added.
Usually when a series gives a meh book, the latter ones just follow into the weakness eventually losing interest but thankfully, this one didn't follow that pattern and gave me a light book but with enough plot.
In this third book of the series the New Moon coven is facing something very dangerous, there seems to be another batch of murders and the things doing the murdering are from another dimension.
The demon incursion causes more than just death and chaos, there are other ramifications for Dot and her coven. More and more humans are being exposed to the supernatural world. What will happen when it is no longer a secret?
Things are hotting up between Dot and her lovers, both in bed and during the frequent arguments she has with Bill. Bill seems to accept Dot’s other lovers provided they come from the coven. Anyone else and he is jealous. As well as adding to the coven in this book, Dot also seems to be adding to her lovers, or at least the number of people she enjoys having sex in front of!
One of the things I like the most about this series is the way the writer creates a real sense of family in the coven, especially through the care they all give each other. Though there are lovers amongst the coven the care extends beyond those groupings. They even have the banter and arguments that you get in a family to cute through the sweetness!
I really do like this author’s style of writing. It is fluid and articulate. The characters are convincing and believable and the relationships between them all, both main characters and supporting ones make a great read.
Still hooked with this series and its comedic timing. Im excited about the addition of new coven members, mates/bfs and familiars (I was really gonna miss Dar!!!).
I don't really trust Derek, there is something fishy about him.
I was a bit sad that the author has kept the vamp and demon lore a bit vague but Im still hopefull that she will keep adding to them with the following books because of the familiars, as well as the fae lore that is sure to come in the next book thanks to that last scene in the epilogue. Also, would really like to read about more interactions with the other coven members and supernatural creatures that keep showing up, cause its like "hello Im a *insert supernatural creature*, and thats it to my story. BYE!*, I need a bit more depth and character development for ALL the characters in the books.

I am an avid reader and like to read series so that I can get attached to the characters and the story! I stumbled upon this by accident trying to find something good to read! Boy am I glad I found it! I have never read anything from this author before and I was very grateful for these books! They are funny, sexy and the characters are all so well done! I am reading them one right after another and never want the stories to end! I have read thousands of books and can honestly tell you, this author is very talented! I feel like I know these people in the book, like I have a connection with them! I am truly happy to continue this series and look forward to anything she writes in the future! Absolutely in love with this story!!
1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.
2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.
3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.
4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.
5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.
Yet another fantastically funny, entertaining book from a great author. The change of narrator was a smooth transition and it actually made it better, she gave each of the characters their individuality which is a skill in itself. It had me in stitches at points and proper laugh out loud moments but never shying away from the story. Very much looking forward to the next one in the series and to see how much her harem grows!!!!
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
Loved this book. The coven is growing in numbers and the trouble that began was friggin hilarious when you find out who was behind it and why. I loved seeing how Dots relationships are growing and still holding onto Dennis being a part of it. Yay for Jason!!! The new hellhound familiar is awesome so glad to see him again at the end. What awaits Dot after the ending when she left the Diner with Dar in the epilogue chapter? I can’t wait to read the next book to find out!!!
Love this series always makes me giggle. So much action for a little town, all the covens trying to do is save the town and make it great again problem is theres demons running havoc everywhere. Love nanas character i can see shes guna be a feisty handful of trouble. The german shephard /hellhound dar is a great character to add to the mix. Cannot wait to read the next one and find out what the elves are doing trying to kill the lady..... its gunna be awesome
Dot continues her dream of another successful town filled with norms and a safe haven for paras. She has a long road ahead of her as she and her men find themselves and each other. As they work out the little jealouslies of each other and come together to fight the hordes of Ghehna. All the Dot is coming to terms with her new familiars...a vampire and a Hellhound. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
Third Charm continues Dot’s story following her moving to Cedar Falls and working to revive the town. I enjoyed the story in this book and it introduced another supernatural into the world that has been built. I love the characters in this series and the humour always makes me smile. Overall, another great instalment in the series and I would recommend giving it a read.
Wowza. Building your own coven to make a safe place for all the supernaturals I'd harder than it looks. Somehow, Dots town has a floating portal to hell and she is going to need all the help she can get to close it before too many ppl end up dead. I look forward to the next book!
I had my doubts after a weaker plot development in book two, but Faye is back in action for book three. I am loving these characters, especially Dar. And Nana is a hoot. Faye does a great job interweaving a ton of different characters without losing the thread.
