James is a thriller writer with influences from Clancy, Flynn, Child, and others. He's been featured in articles for Recoil Magazine and Off-Grid. Recoil listed him featured him in an article entitled: "Best Selling Authors Who Get It Right." High praise indeed.

Born and raised in Louisiana, but currently residing in Oklahoma, James draws from his southern roots in his storytelling, creating a protagonist that is quiet and reserved, drawing on a commonsense approach to crime-fighting. The DJ Slaughter character, for example, is easily relatable. You know who he is pretty quick and can see yourself in his struggles. In a world of over-the-top heroes, James is a breath of fresh air.

James continues to write his popular DJ Slaughter series but is rumored to be secretly working on something exciting and new in the background. We can't wait to see what he's cooked up for us all.

Exciting Action As Slaughter Is Hunted On An Island

A great,fast-paced story continuing the life of DJ Slaughter as he is kidnapped, dropped from a plane onto a island no one knows about, to be hunted be a group of assassins for an evil Russian, Ivan Romanoff. At the same time his pregnant wife Abbi is brought to Ivan's home to be used as added pressure against DJ.
The thrills continue from start to finish as the old special FBI team they both worked with pulls out all the stops to save their friends. A thoroughly enjoyable read, dragging you through different scenes and countries as explosive action reigns around you!!!

This one digs deep into the dark world of PTSD, which Slaughter has. DJ is captured and parachuted in to a remote area, with only a pistol for a weapon where he is hunted by 5 very experienced assassins. This is all set up by Romanov, a Russian mobster. This is a no win situation for anyone but Slaughter. Just in case DJ survives this, Romanov has Abbi kidnapped as well. All sorts of high tech action going on with lots of twists and turns. Figuring out how DJ was being tracked, was the easiest part. Another great Slaughter book!

I have to say that this series has not disappointed me. Another wild and crazy ride with DJ and it had me going back and forth to the very end. Was the traitor really a traitor? There was a nice twist thrown in there near the end and for a little while had me wondering if he might actually be a good guy. But, then I thought...nah.... Honestly though - interesting twist.

DJ is a complex character - who is EXTREMELY talented with a gun and this book is no exception with the body count. They are always unbelievably high. I enjoyed it though.

Continuing from where book 3 left off

DJ has been tranquillized and dropped from a plane. He is unsure of how to release his parachute as he falls. He sees several other parachutes as he falls and then he is on the ground being hunted.

Excellent contribution to Slaughter! Loved it!

Straight Shooting

James Beltz never disappoints. He's shooting from the hip with this one. Impeccable strategy descriptions that bring the pieces of a thrilling puzzle into play to form a picture perfect ending. DJ Slaughter is the killing machine every terrorist fighter needs, even the President of the United States.

This is a good read. The proofreading and editing is much better in this book with much less spelling and grammatical errors than the books before this one. This made the book much easier to read than the previous ones.

Slow

This book was a disappointment after the first 3 that were great. Still I love that the author used no profanity. Thanks for that.
