Taking Chances

Rate this book
She craves a second chance. He might just be it. Is a common love of chocolate enough of a foundation to make this Main Avenue romance work?

Sera Taylor’s life is spiraling out of control, thanks to her ex’s gambling addiction. When she’s given a do-over, a chance for a new start, she grabs it with both hands and never looks back. Moving to a new town is risky and uncomfortable, but like the sweet treats she makes, it will be worth it.

Logan Hamilton is a man of simple tastes. Though drawn to the beautiful owner of the new shop on Main Avenue, she has more layers than an onion. If it weren’t for their common love of chocolate, their romance would be over before it began.

Their affair is destined to be habit forming and hotter than chocolate melting in a double boiler. But escalating pranks could destroy their romance unless they team up to discover who’s behind the deadly sabotage.

Gemma's favorite desk accessories for many years were a circular wooden token, better known as a 'round tuit,' and a fortune from a fortune cookie proclaiming her a lover of words; some day she'd write a book. All it took was a transfer to the United Kingdom, the lovely English springtime, and a huge dose of homesickness to write her first novel. Once it was completed and sent off with a kiss even the rejections, addressed to 'Dear Author', were gratifying.
After returning to America, she spent a number of years as a copywriter, dedicating her skills to making insurance and the agents who sell them sound sexy. Eventually, her full-time job as a writer interfered with her desire to be a writer full-time and she left the world of financial products behind to pursue an avocation as a romance author.
Her gamble paid off when she was a 2012 Finalist in the prestigious Golden Pen contest for Romantic Suspense and she received contracts for her first and second book.

Wow! This is a fun-filled, heart-stopping, smile-inducing, heart-warming book.

Sera, Logan, Laura, Zane, Granny and everyone else you’ll meet in Durango will make you want to move there and help out in the most delicious sounding chocolate shop in town.

Sera has uprooted her life to move to Colorado and open a gourmet chocolate shop. Handsome, sexy Logan just happens to own the shop across the street. Do they get together? Live happily ever after? Is someone trying to destroy their happiness?

You’ll have to read to find out, and you won’t be disappointed. I loved this book!!

I really enjoyed Sera and Logan's story. I'm really shocked as to why there are so few reviews for this book. Sera left the town she was in to get a new start. She plans on opening a boutique chocolate shop that does mostly online orders. Logan is the fun, cutesy shop owner that sells shirts across the street. Someone keeps sabotaging Sera's store, orders and supplies. Sera isn't sure if its the competition down the road or if its the people her ex owes. Super cute book with the perfect ending.

What a "sweet" read! When Seraphina moves into town to open a gourmet chocolate shop, she meets the sexy owner of the t-shirt shop across the street, Logan. Love ensues amidst sabatoge, funny t-shirt slogans and secret chocolate recipes. Great story for the perfect HEA.

Definitely a nice, light read. But don't be fooled, you won't know who to trust when Sera moves into this nice, quiet town. Definitely a fun read that will keep you wondering if people really are who they say they are.
