Amelia: After finally achieving my dream job, and working proficiently on a team of men, I was able to settle down. Maybe I settle a little too much. Not only was I taken by surprise by two gigantic men, I had something done to me, something so horrific it leaves me shattered and fighting demons that I never used to have.
Drills: I was living my perfect life, all the female attention I could get, a job that paid extremely well and my brothers from the Bleeding Miners MC. Being their president brought me a great sense of pride. Who knew I would get knocked down a pegged and then kicked?
Eagle: I love when Drills and I share, but I never thought that we could find a permanent woman to take both him and I as partners. She took my heart like a raging fire taking a house, and I would gladly let her burn me in her wake.
Does this triangle come together, or are there stronger forces at play? From The Darkness is a MC Club reverse harem that will take you places you very much want to go and someplace nothing can prepare you for. Let Amelia’s inner fire rage and let Eagle and Drills be the ones to satisfy it, together.

It is why she is seem more with a smile on her face then a frown.
I love biker romances, add loving more than one man and I’m all in. This book was not what I thought it would be. The bikers where not the strong alphas you want when you read a MC book. I was disappointed.
I genuinely don't understand how anyone rated this more than one star. This book was utter garbage. It didn't flow, was incredibly jumpy so half the time it almost didn't make sense. The men are cringe and the MFC was just as bad. That whole "I'm a strong independent women and any man who steps to me is a misogynist" lark is overused. Why can't she just be strong without telling literally every man she meets in the first few chapters just how strong she is? Not to mention the ridiculous use of violence. On top of that, at one point she is going on about just how amazing she is to be called Chunky by a coworker and her reaction was to hang her head in Shane and dejectedly walk off.
Hello? Mrs/Mr Author?! Make it make fucking sense.
I have read some seriously good MC books with alpha males and badass chicks but this just felt like a 16 year old read too many MC wattpad books and decided to give it a go. Yes. Wattpad books cause I don't think she even had a good book to copy in the first place.
What a waste of my life.

Love these characters, plenty rough edges to be found. My assumption for anyone who is brave enough to write is that they want their characters and their stories to be truly invested in by the reader. That's where EDITING for flow, vocabulary, and spelling make or break an author's work. You tend to lose interest when whole passages make no sense because of missing or incorrectly used words. I struggle with wrong character names frequently popping up to ruin any flow, and non-existent punctuation. Rereading passages, and in some cases whole pages while having to edit for content gets exhausting. I really want a sequel, but I don't know if I can get as much out of it as I want to.
The language in this story is very down to earth and the author doesn’t dress up how the characters are speaking and so there is quite a bit of swearing, is this normal? Well for some people, yes, it is, and I think in this case it is for these characters. This plot and dialogue address a number of social stigmas head on and makes no apologies for doing so. The story is quite emotional at times and there are some scenes that may be triggers for some readers. It’s a fairly short novel and the first that I have read by this author, I look forward to reading more by her. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review
I tried multiple times to get into this story - I haven't given up yet
The writing style is a bit jumpy for me We flash in and out of scenes a bit too abruptly for me and at times without any rhyme or reason I could comprehend I realize the author is setting up who is and who and building the foundation This is the reason I keep trying - I have found that sometimes first in a series takes a bit to click
Our lead Amelia needs to burn that chip off her shoulder and I am hoping that happens soon
Drills and Eagle are doing it for me - again I hope that there will be some connection with these characters as the story progresses
This was a pretty good book. It would have received more stars if it wasn't for the grammar errors, but besides that it was well written. I loved the true emotions that were represented in the characters. Sometimes things don't go so smoothly when it comes to relationships. Especially when you throw in a couple of crazy people into the mix. Lots of hot and steamy, just like I like. I look forward to reading about the next set of characters.
This is the first in a new series, and this is Amelia / Fire, Stephen / Drills & Lucas / Eagle’s story. Amelia is a tough firefighter, and Drills and Eagle are the President and Enforcer of the MC. This is a good story which is a reverse harem romance, with emotions, twists, and is a quick and enjoyable read. Be aware of the trigger warning due to the sensitive content!! I look forward to reading more from this author work.
Amelia is a firefighter, which is hard because there are not very many. She has to be hard. One day Drills and Eagle eye Amelia and fall for her. But it is a rocky road for the three of them. Read to find out the heart wrenching events that either make them or break them. May contain triggers.
This is a well written book. The authors description of a very graphic trigger scene is so very real. You feel like you are her and your fighting for your life. I can't wait for book two in this series.
Drills, Eagle and Amelia experience insta-love and deals with some pretty harsh circumstances before they barely start getting to know each other. This is an angsty, high anxiety page-turner.
J.A. Lafrance is a new author for me. I loved the premise of this story. It was a little hard to get into at first but I stuck with it and found it to be a fantastic story. There are trigger warnings for a reason, so please read them before diving in. I loved this story. I hope you do too
Eagle (Lucas) & Drill (Steven) are head of the Bleeding Miners MC. They are stunned speechless when Fire (Amelia) puts a few of their men in their place, when she drives Grandma home.
This is just the beginning! Ameila is a firefighter and puts up with shit from men at the station all the time. She doesn't stand for it from anyone.
Eagle & Drill are so enamored of her that when she is on duty fighting a fire that Drill & Eagle are at, trying to help, they can't believe their luck in meeting up with her again.
Good turns ugly when Amelia is raped by two thugs, when she is at work, at her fire station. The world gets ugly for Fire and she has Eagle & Drill to take care of her, with her family not far behind.
Meanwhile, back at the Clubhouse, things are pretty mess so Drill & Eagle are trying to clean house. And Amelia gets attacked again.
Awesome story with some really tough subject matter.
It’s been awhile since I’ve read an MC book. I love them so I was super stoked to read this. The beginning starts off good. You’re introduced to the characters. Here’s where it got tricky for me. The story seemed to go off on all these different directions, that at times I didn’t know who was doing what or why something was happening. I struggled at times because I wanted to know a bit more as to why a certain situation needed to happen. That being said, the story came together and wow what a story. The author did a really great job in creating these characters. Some were fun, lovable, and some totally hate worthy. There was some pretty hot scenes along with some action. You can’t forget about the hot men! All in all, I did enjoy the story. I hope to read more from this series. I give this 4 stars.
I liked this book a lot. The main characters Amelia, Steven and Lucas are fabulous. They go through several horrific situations but somehow (even with all the guys screw-ups) manage to make it through. The plot/story-line of the book is fantastic. My only complaint/concern (and the reason this book didn't get 5 stars from me) is that there are a few editing issues that pulled me out of the story and need to be addressed. The story and characters are wonderful and the writing is great it just needs a little clean up.
DNF There were so many grammatical errors and it didn’t make sense most of the time. You’d think a published book would seem like it was edited, even if only a little... I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if this was the first draft.
Wow I have never read such stupid drivel in my life! I read a book a day and have no problem with dark or reverse harem or anything as long as it is written WELL! This needs serious content editing and actual editing as well. I am always up for reading a new undiscovered author but this one was really disappointing.
