Music and longing collide in this ballad of unrequited love!
Nino Arisugawa, a girl who loves to sing, experiences her first heart-wrenching goodbye when her beloved childhood friend, Momo, moves away. And after Nino befriends Yuzu, a music composer, she experiences another sad parting! Luckily, Nino reunites with Momo and Yuzu in high school, but things haven’t played out the way anyone expected…
During day two of Rock Horizon, Yuzu’s concentration is shattered when he spots his mother in the audience. After a quick save from Nino, he leaps from the stage to confront her! Later, after reevaluating his life and the role In No Hurry plays in it, Yuzu gathers the band to make a shocking announcement!
The closer we get to the end of this manga, the more I think of how I NEVER expected this to be the direction it would go!
It's much more emotional than I anticipated and truly just didn't plan for the things that happened, to happen.
But let's back up to the beginning!
I LOVEDDDDDD this Rock Horizon concert! The musical aspects are my absolute favorite and compared to how each character was at the previous Rock Horizon, these characters have grown SO incredibly much! They have not only grown individually, but also as a band. I truly wish they were real and could go watch them play live because their energy and specific things Mitsu says about Nino are exactly why they are so much fun to watch!
Last volume I knew this would be Yuzu's volume and indeed that is so true. If anyone has maybe grown the most, it's him. He is not the same Yuzu we met at the beginning and was deeply moved at the choices he made in this one. The whole thing was just so emotional and while I honestly want to give this a four star rating, the depth of these characters and the comparison to their past vs now decisions deserves nothing less than five starts (even if they have my heart is breaking over here LOL).
I am SO thankful we had that happy ending because after a very tearful conversation between two characters, goodness, I definitely needed it! Though I loved the part near the end involving In No Hurry to Shout because that was absolutely great! <3
I think I'm ready to see how this series unfolds, but I have no idea what to expect next!
BEST. VOLUME. EVER. This is probably the most emotional volume yet for a lot of reasons. 5000/5 stars!!!!!
If I could describe this volume, it'd be what I'd like to call as "Fukuyama-sensei's redemption for making Yuzu hurt so much over the last volumes volume". Honestly in the past, I felt like Fukuyama-sensei really hates Yuzu because he only keeps getting hurt while the others get something good. This volume totally redeems it.
SPOILERS SO PLEASE DONT READ IF YOU DONT WANNA BE SPOILED:
As we reach the last 2 volumes, I only wish that the stories will continue to be great, and I hope this series ends with a bang and a satisfying conclusion (aka make Yuzu more happy HAHAHA loljk)
Seeing his mom at the show was so hard for Yuzu and I really hope he can smooth things out with her soon. I loved Nino calling him out on the fact that he can sing. Yuzu's first meeting with Yana about creating In NO Hurry and then seeing Yana crying over how far the band has come was so great!
The kids are all growing up. I love that Yuzu is starting to see what his mom is going through and that he's goanna help her through it. I also love that all the rest are so supportive of him. Theres a few sweet moments between Kuro and An again and Yana and Kuze get thiers as well.
"I want to see even further. As far as I possibly can. No matter how big the venue we play, I want to be able to take it all in. I want to feel every corner of the place. I want to breathe it all in and sing it back out. That rock horizon set was the first time I felt that way."
Such great growth for Nino too. Shes goanna sing for herself I have hope now.
"I wanted her to understand what I was going through. But I never made the effort to understand where she was at"
Whoa! Yuzu’s mom hates that he likes to sing because she believes that he will also disappear. Kind of sad tbh.
I thought the same as the band members; I thought Yuzu will crowd surf😂 But yeah, he made a silent promise to her mom that they need to heal together which was so sweet💖
Damn, Yuzu marked Nino’s neck😻
Whoa! Both Momo and Yuzu wanting to kiss Nino is a bit confusing as a reader.
Oh wow, Yuzu wants a break from In No Hurry.
Aww, Yuzu’s willing to do a lot for his mom, huh? How sweet of him!
Awwww, Nino marked back Yuzu’s neck as a sign of her temporary goodbye.
You guys, In No Hurry to Shout on hiatus? I smell a time skip💕
As always, thank you, Ryoko💖

"Next year we're gonna get the Horizon Stage for sure."
"With your voice as my guide I'll find you. We'll meet at that sky. We'll meet at that sea."
As both of the lead boys move toward resolving the problems with their mothers that seem to be holding them back, I find it interesting how the rest of the cast (especially Nino) never speak about their own parents or families. Well, except for the drummer who was in love with his brother's wife. Still, this volume shows how much of a family unto itself the band has become. I'm rooting for everyone.
This was one of the best volumes. Full of emotion. Story line actually moving along. Not all about a concert that takes up so many pages/panels.
Yuzu made a very mature decision for his mother’s sake. He’s a great guy. All the band mates are such good friends. I do like that aspect of this series. Even Momo didn’t annoy me this volume. It was cute when Nino took him to get new glasses. I guess it’s always been Momo, huh? Yuzu never had a chance!
After the Rock Horizon concert, In No Hurry & Silent Black Kitty are both rising high. In No Hurry has a shared single with girlish &its doing really well.
All seems to be falling into place & then Yuzu tells the gang that he wants the band to go on hiatus. What will this mean for the band?
Well that was surprising and wonderfully clear of most of my issues from the past couple volumes. How did I not know this was written by a female? I love this series even more now.
I don't want this series to come to an end, but at the same time I am excited to read the last two volumes and see how it does end. I really enjoyed this volume and the twists the story took. I found the characters continue to be enjoyable. The pace and illustrations continue to be good.
With this volume, sure the love triangle is still happening, but this centred more around the band & how the band will progress. Im excited to see how the band will come back together after their hiatus, and what's in store for yuzu, nino & momo.

I love this series SO MUCH. When I realized that it's going to be finishing up soon I almost started crying. I'm not ready!!! It's SO GOOD though. I loved this volume especially.
The concert ends with a bang, surprisingly for Yuzu and not Nino this time. Yuzu has reached a point where he must confront his mother in order to move forward, and he's finally ready to do that. In the meantime, Nino has finally felt the rush of performing for an audience. And now Momo is realizing that, while he was ahead of her before, she's now trying more things than he is. It feels like things are finally starting to even-up between the characters and the bands, and thus each character gets to deal with that now. For a surprise plot, we got to see a romance for their manager, Yana. I hadn't seen that coming, as we haven't gotten much attention from them (or at least I hadn't paid them any real attention), but it was a cute little scene. It was a little scene-stealer, honestly. I really like all of the characters at this point. I want Nino and Yuzu to reach their potential and do the things they want to do; and I just want Momo to do good and be happy with it. Plus there's all the side characters. I'm excited to see how this series goes from here.
