After her older sister refuses to go to an arranged marriage meeting with Takane Saibara, the heir to a vast business fortune, high schooler Hana Nonomura agrees to be her stand-in to save face for the family. But when these two utter opposites pair up, get ready for some sparks to fly!
A hospitalized Takane drops a major bombshell on Hana, and she doesn’t know if he’s serious or not! In typical Takane form, he overdoes things, and Hana is at a loss as to how she should deal with the news. Could some advice from love rival Rino actually help?
Felt a little like 2 steps forward 1 step back with this volume But I still had a lot of fun reading it. This series is just really good at humour and being lighthearted a lot of the time, it’s easy to read
Boy I was tempted to drop this to two stars but I’ve certainly read worse. This just isn’t very good and the volume as a whole was actually bloody annoying. The goodwill this series had built up is slowly bleeding away...
Takane recovers from last volume’s drama, admits his feelings (still not really addressing how problematic that is - “it’s only for you and not young girls in general” might be the worst way forward on that one, oof), which is what Hana wanted but then she flips out and Takane becomes super obnoxious and annoying for the rest of the volume.
There’s nothing to root for here, except maybe somebody smacking some sense into the both of them. It just feels like drawing things out for the sake of the manga, but not the actual story.
The bit with the alarm clock and the ridiculously named magic sword in the dream sequence were at least amusing. The rest... sigh... and then stuffing in three bonus stories... yeah...
Hana is pressed into a marriage meeting with Takane, a scion of a business empire, impersonating her sister to save her father's job! Ready to put that fiasco behind her Hana is shocked that Takane actually seems interested in her! She is exasperated by his immaturity but intrigued despite herself at the fun she has as they try to outwit one another...
Takane has a major revelation and now we get to experience the fallout. I will admit that for this I’m kinda on Takane’s side more than Hana. Come on Hana, you love the man and you know how overboard he gets when he’s passionate! Takane really sets the tone for Takane & Hana vol 12 right from page one. The stunner in the first chapter isn’t shocking, but it’s how he goes about it!
I loved Hana’s dad’s reaction and conversely her mom always takes everything Takane does in stride. And he goes out of control. Like majorly out of control and it’s glorious and so, so hilarious. Hana takes extreme action herself in reply. Does anyone take her seriously? I don’t think so but the reactions of everyone just about make you bust a gut.
But it’s the super sweet convo between Takane and Luciano about the tense situation with Hana. Yes, it gets really bad. Takane is too serious but not using his words properly. I’m super, super excited for the next volume where Luciano’s words may payoff?!
Wow this volume was all over the place and couldn't settle on one aspect of the story. I miss when the volumes just focused on Takane and Hana's relationship.
I'm going to go ahead and start off with a spoiler:
For some reason this volume hit differently and did feel a little bit disappointed given the built up to it, so I was shocked by some of Hana's actions.
However! Her Dad was AMAZING!! Seeing him stand up to Takane was awesome and was even really touched by Takane's choice of words as well.
And speaking of, Takane has really changed from who he use to be. I'm thankful for Nicola in this volume and him "coaching" Takane because I *think* the results will hopefully be explored in the next volume.
Just……
Regardless of my own mixup/confusion (LOL), I did enjoy this volume even if was definitely a change of pace seeing Takane be so opposite in his openness on things before now. Also, the bonus stories were a lot of fun!
Back to the typical antics of their relationship, maybe it's my proximity to reading vol. 11, but I'm really surprised with how Hana is handling things. She's told no one what happened it seems, and Takane is being incredibly overbearing. A lot of emotional work and growth has to happen in the next few volumes...
Going back to its roots after the weird, jumping-the-shark mess from the last volume. This volume reminds me of why I enjoy this stupid story! Takane is insufferable and hilarious all at the same time. He’s going to badger her into submission/love. That love confession in the hospital room, man! Lol There’s not much progression here, but the antics are still fun.
*sighs sadly* Not quite as good as the last few volumes, but has some really good content! But maybe it’s just the last volumes were so good.... maybe. That’s probably it.
The bonus stories are pretty good. It’s funny that the author covered up the cockroach with Takane’s face, just in case someone is disturbed by the bug. I love how the cousin is Takane’s fanboy. It’s GLORIOUS.
I feel like the author is running out of enthusiasm for her own series, but I still laughed like a ninny at the magic sword that's only for childhood friends.
I devoured the series over the course of a couple of months. Took a little longer than I hoped because a few of them decided to take forever from Amazon. Hana ends up roped into taking her older sisters place in a marriage match never expecting that anything would come from it. Instead a we get a very sweet comical whirlwind romance between her and Takane.
I ended up reading the first one and instantly ordering the rest of them it's such a cute series kind of a enemies to lover romance between them. I loved Hana she's an adorable character and I think because of her I'm going to do bubblegum pink hair next. Each manga has the pair growing as characters. Takane had a lot of growing to do but he get's there eventually.
The artwork is as equally lovely as the story. I was captivated right from the start and fell in love with Hana and Takane's story. This is one of my favorite series that I'm so glad I purchased the set. They will always have a special place on my bookshelf and I know they will get some re-reads as I wasn't ready to say goodbye just yet. I plan to read the authors other manga as I loved this one so much. Highly recommend a perfect sweet romance.
Hana's 180 attitude flip really bugged me in this one, more than the Takane cockroach in the bonus story. Of which, by the way, there were three. Call me old fashioned, but I'd much prefer actual story than three bonus stories. Lost a star for that.
So cute, I love how the story progressed in this volume and I enjoyed the growth of the characters. It's a really cute series and I like how this volume added to the story. I look forward to continuing it.
I have really loved this series up until this book. I really hated Hana. Takane finally expresses what Hana wanted, and then she ditches him and doesn't want anything to do with him?? I hate this kind of girl, wanting a guy to fall for her and as soon as he does, she's off. I get she just went thru a lot but she seems totally fine with what happened. I get that she doesn't want more of that to happen if they stay together, never mind the "dating a high schooler" thing. I get it, really. But what I don't get is how selfish both of these characters are in this book! Takane goes on the offensive because Hana rejects him (for no reason), and goes WAY overboard and pushes her father away. Why do all this over-the-top drama crap just to lengthen a story?
She even pretends to be dating her friend to get Takane to stop smothering her? I don't get that- she's in a miai...maybe I don't get what japan's miai entails, but I thought the point is that they're trying to get to know each other and eventually marry each other, but thru the series they also mention they're not actually dating? Seems more like the miai is a cover but they're actually just casually seeing each other with NO prospects at all, which defeats the miai? Maybe I missed that part earlier in the series...
Three starts because the humor is great, the dad finally stood up to Takane (even though this whole thing is his fault), and people call Hana out on being flighty. I hope the next book is better.
Ok, let me start off by saying I LOVE THIS MANGA. its never less that 5 stars for me but after being so excited for this volume to come out, it was quite disappointing. In volume 11, we finally got somewhere with Hana admitting her feelings and it was clear that Takane felt the same. Fast forward to my Volume 12 thoughts:
1. Yay, finally Takane tells Hana he loves her and wants to be with her! 2. Oh. She’s avoiding it after literally wanting him to tell her for the last 5-7 volumes (bitch love, Hana). 3. Dad doesn’t approve!? Huh?? He’s been pushing this. 4. WHY ISNT THERE A CONCLUSION AND WHY ARE THERE THREE BONUS STORIES.
I don’t know. I’m disappointed. I needed more Takane & Hana sweet moments in this one. It finally happened. They care so strongly for each other and finally admitted it. Is it so wrong to want them to just be serious and couple-y for a moment?
With that being said, one meh volume isn’t the end of the world. This is still an AMAZING manga. Cute and hilarious. ♥️

Era partito benissimo, facendomi morire dalle risate... e poi?

Takane irritates me so much! He is all in Hana's face about everything. I would think that after a year of being together he would know she doesn't like that stuff and back off a little. I keep thinking he has changed a little and then he goes right back to the way he was. The end of this book gives me hope that he might finially get it though because his friend is helping him out.
I really like Hana, she is like the opposite of what I was at her age. I was such a push over. I like how Hana speaks her mind. That's what for the whole series. She really helps Takane look at the world in a different way and to stop only thinking about himself.

This was an interesting volume. There are certainly significant plot developments, and the ending left me hopeful, but man, when the synopsis said that Takane went over the top, it wasn't kidding. Indeed, there were some rather fabulous plot developments when you think of it like that, tee hee. Onto the next one! 4.5 stars.
This volume kinda reignited my love for this manga.
Takane has come to terms with his feelings for Hana. While in the hospital recovering, he confesses his love for her which the whole family hears. Her family who was okay with it, is now putting his foot down. Hana who has been trying to win his affections, runs away.
Causing Takane to proof his love which doesn't go very well.
I thought volume 13 was the last one but I see there is a 14 as well. Not sure how this manga will end but I hope we get an anime or a live action. I just want to see Hana older!
Previously Hana told Takane how she felt, and was pushed away. Now following the rescue of the previous volume, Takane tells Hana he loves her, only to be similarly rejected. That brings things full circle as Takane goes all out to try to win Hana's acceptance, which of course only annoys her and drives them further apart. To get Hana some space, Okamon tells Takane he and Hana are dating now, but is it just pretend or are there ulterior motives...

Loved this volume, the comedy and character development on point again.
What I especially enjoyed was Takane trying to get Hana to admit how she felt with the worst but comedic way possible and the character development of Hana in the sense of uncertainty for Takane and Okamane potential love triangle.
To conclude, loved the bonus stories very funny and brought character developments to those that we don't see that often throughout the volumes, can't wait to see what happens next.
Takane is in the hospital recovering from the latest adventure when he says three little words which turns Hana's world upside down. How do we move past this point? That's going to take some figuring out.
Of course I love this volume best so far, mostly because I'm seeing two people finally growing up enough to own their emotions. Good on them! Seeing how things develop from this point is going to be interesting and I can't wait to see what comes next.
NEVER FAILS to make me laugh! I love this manga so much. You can't read it, and not be happy. This one is giving progress in our little romance, but also still just so fricken funny. The wait for the next one always kills me.
