When Kat’s blind date turns out to be an undercover FBI agent, her humdrum life takes a decidedly more exciting turn. First, she’s mistaken for a hooker and then she survives being shot at—twice. Now her boss has been murdered, her roommate has been kidnapped, and a contract killer wants her dead. Once upon a time, FBI Special Agent Scott Bishop was quickly moving up the career ladder at the bureau. Then his career took a sharp detour into no-man’s land. In an effort to get back on track, he takes a temporary undercover assignment, working to expose a money laundering operation run by the elusive Cameron Greyson. Unfortunately, nothing about this case is simple. Bishop’s field supervisor drops the ball, and an assassin beats them to the punch. Greyson is dead, Bishop’s cover is blown, and Kat, caught in the middle of a crazy situation, is in danger. Bishop must keep Kat safe—regardless of whether she wants his help or not. In the end, will she be willing to take a chance on Mr. Dangerous? Will he be willing to sacrifice his career for the woman he loves?

Double Blind by Sloane Savage Dangerous Eight series #2. Contemporary romantic suspense. Can be read as a stand-alone however events are referred to and characters cross over. Mistaken identity on a blind date puts Kat in a perilous position. There are too many coincidences and Special Agent Scott Bishop will investigate and try to keep Kat safe. After all, he’s the one that picked up the wrong woman in the bar.
Kat seems to be having a run of bad luck, but it’s probably more because her boss is involved with some vicious and unforgiving people. Intriguing with twists and turns and backstory make this an intense romantic suspense. I kept thinking maybe Rip was more than he seemed but won’t spoil the story. I did like the “non lethal” option used. There are unanswered questions for the series but I don’t see any further books yet scheduled by the author. At least we know this couple will got their HEA. 4.5
This is the second book in the Dangerous Eight romantic suspense series by Sloane Savage.
Kat thought she was going on a blind date. Then she runs into her own doppelganger in the bathroom. Somehow she and her twin end up with each other’s date. That means that FBI Special Agent Scott Bishop is wooing the wrong woman. They spend the night together and while Scott thinks he is there to milk a call girl for information Kat knows no such thing. She overhears him on the phone saying he paid her the money and that is when reality dawns on her. She escapes the room and heads home crushed. When Kat goes back to the martini bar where she suspected she lost an earring, she finds the hostess dead behind her station. And everything just gets weirder from there.
Kat is over her head. At work she spies Mr. Sexy coming off the elevator and then spies him again. But there can’t be two of them, can there? Then her doppelganger comes out of her boss’s office. She has killed him. Now the only difference between her and the shooter is the gal’s now pink hair.
The action in this is crazy. Just when I think it might wrap up, they dive in for more. The characters are really good in this series and you feel like you are watching a tv show unfold before your eyes.
The entire plot line is mega complex and a bit of a mind-bender at times but you can follow it all the way to the conclusion. At times I was beginning to wonder if there would be a way out for them both burt luckily this isn’t real life. There are a lot of alphabet agencies in this which makes it more convoluted on top of the complex structure.
I loved every minute of reading this but wished there had been more of the Dangerous Eight guys. Those were my favorite parts.
If romantic suspense is your thing, you will love this. Check it out.
I could not put down this book. The story of Kat and Bishop was filled with so many twist and turns it left me on the edge of my seat holding my breath. Love the main characters. I also enjoyed the friendship between Rip and Kat. Well developed storyline and characters. Excited for book 3 in the Dangerous Eight.
Wow! This book was full of action from the beginning. There were misunderstandings, mistaken identities, and a whole lot of sparks. This book had some pretty awesome characters. I really enjoyed this second installation of this series and hope that there is more. I love a book with strong characters who somehow figure out how to get their HEA in the end. This series is a must read.
I loved this book. I could not put it down. Dopplegangers abound and things get tricky when a blind date intersects with an FBI op. Kat is a fun character in that she is bound and determined to find safety in a relationship, but yet she walks smack dab into the middle of danger and rolls with it. Bishop knows something is off, but tries to power through and do his job and while things get dicey he does end up meeting Kat!
While this book can be read as a standalone, it does make a bit more sense when read after book one.
This action-packed suspense is peppered with, look alikes, mistaken identities, wrong place wrong time, or is that wrong place right time? Spies, assassins, double agents, and misconceptions power Kat's misadventures with a dash of terror, a cup of lust, and seasoned with humor. From blind date to sealed fate. This book will keep you guessing.
This romantic suspense was sooooo good! Right from the beginning, you could see the disaster waiting to play out on the page. I loved it! I did find the plot to be a lot to keep up with, but overall enjoyed the ride.
There was so much happening in this story. Sometimes I couldn’t figure who was the good guys vs the bad. There was the mob, hired killer, double cross, FBI and CIA. The body double with unsuspecting Kat was interesting.
