The one who hugged me is Jesse McCann, and he’s apparently a bit of a pervert. The one who’s running away is the man formerly known as Bare-Chested Ape Man. His real name is Cade. Sinclair, I think. Apparently he likes to be naked. Like a lot. This place is weird.”
Naomi grinned. “This place is awesome. So you’re being pursued by a nudist and a Dom?”

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, this series is my crack. A guilty pleasure read that always leaves me satisfied with just the right amount of action and suspense drizzled around an enticingly sexy MFM romance. The fictional town of Bliss makes for a charming background filled with quirky and vivid secondary characters that I'll never get enough of.

After meeting Cade and Jesse in the previous book, I was more than ready for their story. Two sexy mechanics? Bring it on, I say. Of course, in true series fashion, one of them will ultimately be the damaged one and the other be pushing forward for love. And while it may sound formulaic, it never gets old for me. Cade is the standoffish one to Jesse's lighter side. Though Jesse definitely has his own frustrating quirks himself. And while admittedly I got tired of Cade's constant push back, I liked the way that Jesse's easy going demeanor balanced out the dynamic.

Gemma is a heroine that was impossible not to like for me. The woman hides a soft heart beneath a brash and snarky exterior. And yes, this may be because I found her to be my spirit animal, but i just couldn't help but find her endearing. This is a woman that's been through a lot and life hardened her edges. She's slow to trust and she has no problem putting someone in their place. It takes a lot for Jesse to find get to that delicate center she hides so well. And when Cade discovers that she's not quite the ball buster big city chick that she comes across as, he can't seem to stay away from her.

I loved the way Gemma gave them both hell and I definitely loved the way they both worked for her in their own right. While I did get frustrated with each of them at some points in the story, I still couldn't get enough. The action and suspense was perfectly paced and of course I loved more glimpses of my poor broken Michael. I can't wait for his book! As for this one, it was another fantastic addition to one addicting series!

This is my favorite one yet! I loved how Jesse was all in after one glimpse of Gemma. Cade needed some convincing but only because he feared caring for someone who could hurt him in the end. Gemma was sassy and I loved her banter with Cam. I enjoy friendships like Gemma and Cam's. I'm such a fan of all the side characters showing up in every book. I grow to love them more and more. Most of them are insane but that's the charm of these books. I can't wait to read more!

Gemma's entire focus was her career as an attorney but she lost everything when she caught her fiancé in bed with another woman and had a very public meltdown. Leaving everything behind she has returned to her mother's hometown, Bliss, in the hope that she can start to rebuild her career in a few months time when the scandal has blown over. She is determined not to stay in Bliss and her defensive walls are doing a great job of keeping the residents at a distance but two guys are determined to change that.

Jesse and Cade have been on the move for years searching for the man who destroyed their foster mother but now they've had their revenge they're starting to feel like Bliss might be the perfect place for them to build a life for themselves. They're both immediately drawn to Gemma and Jesse is ready to dive into a relationship head first, Cade is much more reserved about the idea. Jesse is his brother and he's attracted to Gemma but he blames himself for things that happened in his past and doesn't believe he is good enough to be in a long term relationship.

I love Bliss, I actually wish it was a real place because I would love to move there! Seven books in there are a lot of familiar faces now and it's always great to catch up on the latest gossip and see how everyone is getting along but I've also really enjoyed every single romance in this series. Poor Jesse has his work cut out in this book, Gemma has walls a mile high that she's determined not to let anyone break through while Cade is just looking for excuses to run and Jesse is the one determined to grab hold of them both and bind the three of them together.

As always with this series Chasing Bliss was full of sweet romance, scorching hot sex, amusing banter and funny side characters topped off with an edge of danger and I loved every minute of it.

“𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗰𝗮𝗿?”

It’s crazy to see that I read the first edition of 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘀 by Lexi Blake (writing as Sophie Oak) back in December of 2012, and yet the moment I started this second edition, I felt like no time went by at all. I loved this series, these characters, the author’s ability to make me FEEL all the things, when I first discovered it…but now, if it’s at all possible, I love ALL OF IT even more this time around. Gemma, Jesse, and Cade’s journey is brimming with heat, humor, emotion, and suspense. There is love, heart, and hope scattered throughout each and every single page…you’ll end up having no choice but to fall…and fall hard for this town, for these quirky and lovable characters, and for their wonderful story. I hardly have the time to reread some of my favorite romances, and I hate that…but reading these second editions of some of Lexi Blake’s work is a constant reminder of why I fell in love with the genre in the first place. It’s pushing me to browse my bookshelves and pick up a story that I loved…a story that I remember so fondly, and to hopefully experience that fondness all over again.

Death by Strawberries! That's a new one. But seriously, I have two friends who are allergic to strawberries and they carry their EPI pen with them. At any functions, we are super careful about strawberries in our salads or desserts. Last thing we want is someone to go into shock. It's not a pretty sight. In Chasing Bliss, Gemma is the disgraced big city lawyer who went postal. Personally, I think she was justified. Patrick was an asshole and "big tits" whatever her name was a be-yotch.

For the most part, I felt sorry for Gemma. She's this super hard worker. She possess ambition and her plan was sound. Her execution was even great. Unfortunately, her focus was off. Patrick was a big mistake. She sacrificed and compromised when she should not have. For a supposed "ice princess bitch", she sure was softhearted.

Jesse and Cade are a bit confusing for me. I thought I understood Jesse's background, but near the quarter end of the story, suddenly his history changed. Either than or he didn't tell the full truth to Gemma when he said he did. I try not to think about this disjointed information because it doesn't really matter to me. It still makes Jesse's history depressingly sad. It doesn't change how I feel for him. He's still a decent guy who rose out of a difficult childhood.

Cade on the other hand was a bit odd. I don't fully understand how it was his fault for his family's demise. I think I put it all together, but it felt as though I was missing some key pieces of information. A bit distracting from the story as my brain tries to fit the pieces together, but still, it doesn't change how I feel about Cade either. He's a boy scared to love due to loss. So many stories are based on characters who have this issue. Sometimes it's a tired and used up device. Why is it so prevalent? Then I think about it some more and realize, it's a pretty accurate reflection of real life. So many people are this way. It's rather sad. So when it comes through a story like this and the fear turns around to acceptance, it gives me a warm fuzzy.

This is what Ms. Oak does for me. She gives me warm fuzzies and hope. This story is once again about hope and family. People who have hit rock bottom with nowhere to turn, they still have hope and it isn't some kind of entitlement welfare. Instead, it's real help in the form of friends and family. This type of bonding and small town support is quintessential to a Bliss series book. It's something I expect and every time, Ms. Oak delivers. I particularly enjoyed the "brotherhood" code of when a woman is "owned". It's rather old school yet makes my heart melt. I also like the women killer support group. That was pretty funny. "Hello, my name is xxx. I killed a man, but he deserved it! I feel guilty for taking a human life, but in my defense, he was a son of a bitch and the world is better off without him! I've been kill free for xxx months, xx days and xx hours." Well, the story didn't really go to that detail, but that is how I saw it in my head.

The romantic suspense in this story was actually quite believable. It's less far fetched than some of the other ones - like the Russian mobster hit. It could be due to movies such as Erin Brockovich which lends credibility to this plot. The way the town pulled together and used everyone's talents was amazing. Every one worked together to solve this mystery and catch the villain. All my favourite cast of characters came to play. One day, maybe Ms. Oak will provide us with a little spin off novella about Henry. I'd love to learn about Henry's past. What would be fun for me too, is if Nell knew all along and he realizes he never had to hide that part of himself. She loves him, for who his is, not who he thinks she wants. This contemporary romance story is for menage lovers who enjoy small towns that pull together in times of need.

This was book 7 in the "Nights in Bliss, Colorado" series. Gemma Wells is a lawyer working for a large firm in NYC when she catches her boyfriend Patrick in bed with another woman. Gemma has a melt down and ends up being arrested because she jumped on the other woman after Patrick locked himself in the bathroom. Gemma also finds out that Patrick used her she did all the work and he got the promotions. Turns out her mother Lynn is from Bliss and after battling cancer they head back to Bliss. We first meet Jessie McCann and Cade Sinclair in book 6 they were hunting Hope's ex for what he did to there foster mother. I really liked Jessie he was honest with Gemma about what he wanted from her. Everyone thought that Gemma was a b*tch she had a hard shell she grew up with hippie parents and her father died when she was 12 she didn't believe in love. Cade lost his parents and his sister in a storm and he blamed himself for it he also blamed himself for everything that goes wrong and he doesn't think he deserves a relationship with Gemma. When her ex comes to town he tries to kill her the men of Bliss will do anything to protect one of there own. This was a really good read three people who have had crappy lives and two of the three scared of commitment. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading about Nell and Henry who is not who he say he is.

If you have been reading the Nights in Bliss, Colorado Series you'll remember meeting the HOT mechanics, Jesse McCann and Cade Sinclair, or as Gemma likes to refer to them - The Sweet One and The Bare-Chested Ape Man ;) Seriously though these two men are as close as brothers and well, in a way they are. We get to know more about the boys and newcomer Gemma in this addition to the series.

Gemma is a hoot, I tell you she is perfect for Jesse and Cade. She is sweet yet brash, she's been screwed over in more ways than she'd care to talk about and letting a man get close isn't in the cards let alone two of them but Ms. Blake, who is writing as Sophie Oak, really knows how to make things work with the hardest of couples.

This story isn't all flowers and rainbows, there is someone sending Gemma threatening notes and packages, but again if you've read any of this series you know there is always a bit of suspense to the stories, and Jesse as well as Cade have to keep their girl safe....if she'll let them.

While each of the books in this series can be read as a standalone I would suggest reading them in order because the town folk do play a big part throughout each of the stories and if you don't know their pasts it can be a huge spoiler. The town of Bliss Colorado is the place to be if you are looking for a great menage story that doesn't only revolve around the HOT sexy times but also gives you something to sink your teeth into story wise. Happy Reading!!!

Bliss, Colorado. A mythical town where many of the residents are odd balls, eccentric, or a little bit crazy. Where the sheriff spends most of his time fishing and if disturbed or called to do his duty the recipient will usually end up paying a hefty fine or end up in jail.

Gemma Wells is about to find out how true that is after she tazes one of the town's citizens. She gets the choice of serving jail time and paying a huge fine or agreeing to work as the sheriff's office manager. The only problem is the vacancy hasn't been filled as the previous people who have held the job don't last long partially due to the high murder rate in the town.

It has been a little quiet lately and Gemma doesn't plan to stay very long in the town anyway so she might as well take the job. Too bad Jesse McCann and Cade Sinclair, mechanics in the town, think differently. They think she might fit into the town's high percentage of menage relationships just fine. And as she's been a lawyer in New York City she shouldn't have any stalkers, serial killers, or mafia crime lords to worry about...

* * * *

Every single one of Sophie Oak's books from this series have been terrific. I usually feel that the previous one I read was my favorite until the next one comes out and then change my opinion that this one is my favorite. Well, this one is my new favorite. The central characters are well pitted against each other. Between the snarky interchanges and sexual tension I can't say enough about how much I loved this book. I laughed so many times reading this book as the characters have so many facets that if I lived there I would just park my chair at Stella's or on the main street and watch for hours on end absorbing the town's ambiance. The author has a special way of writing fun scenes that I know she had as much fun writing as I had reading. Additionally, she pulls in previous characters from the series and uses them as I would expect in a revolving chain of events that show this town is as close net protective as they are supportive. They interact and play off each other to enhance the story line but I always know who the central characters are. It's also admirable that new characters are given cameo's in such a way that I really don't know which one will be featured in the next installment.Keeps that 'who could it be' mystery alive for me. Yes, by now there's a central theme to the series but I will never get tired reading this series and would cry if it ever ended.
As to the sexual erotica. Not many authors can provide the mental picture descriptions like Sophie Oak can to get sucked into the written word scenes. The BDSM and kink are delicious and make me want to go to this town and abduct a man couple for my own forcing them to provide me with similar attention that the heroines in these books get. Bliss Colorado and the "Nights in Bliss" series are near the top of my automatic buy list and will continue to be. You can't go wrong when reading about hunky men who come in pairs that love their women with passion, frequency, and BDSM play.

**This could be read as a stand alone book but because of the characters used who come from previous books in this series it's advisable to read them in order to understand and get the feel before reading this one.

Re-read 4/25/2019

I re-read this and want to comment that while I have no idea what changes/edits/added content/etc the author made, I fell in love all over again with Bliss and it's residents.

Gemma, Jessie, & Cade were meant for each other and I'm glad they got their HEA (duh, this is a re-read so that's IS NOT a spoiler). The journey to get there resulted in many laugh out loud snort moments.

Gemma's entry in Bliss, Colorado doesn't go unnoticed by two hot mechanics, Jesse and Cade. They're used to sharing women, both for relationships and for something a little more casual. Jesse's been thinking of finding a woman to settle down with, and he hopes Cade wants the same thing. Cade, the man who's his brother from another mother, his partner. But, Cade seems put off by big city girl Gemma, even as he's physically drawn to Gemma. Will the three of them ever be on the same page? The stalker/harasser she's acquired since she came to Bliss will either help things along or make things even more difficult for our threesome.

I ended up really liking Chasing Bliss. I was a little surprised that I ended up liking it because I was a bit put off by Jesse's forward bossiness and Cade's constant pushing and pulling away. I guess the main reason I ended up liking it so much is because of Gemma. She's awesome! The kind of heroine I like most - sassy, smart, tough and unafraid to put people (jackasses) in their place. I like how much her character grew and developed throughout the story and how perfectly she fit into her own threesome. I do wish Cade and Jesse had been as likable as Gemma, but she loved them so they get a big pass. I always say that for a ménage to be successful, the emotional and physical have to be well-balanced, and I think that balance is pulled off very successfully here in Chasing Bliss. There's also suspense and a mystery to go along with the relationship, combining to make for a very readable, engaging story. I am definitely looking forward to more in this series now.

Gemma was a hard person to warm up to. I really bought her Ice Princess veneer. I did hate what she found when she came home at the start of the book. I sort of caught on to that Patrick was using her, so it didn't surprise me all that much, but Gemma's response did. I do wish that there would have been more descriptions to that.

I liked Jesse and Cade, but I did get tired of Cade's whole "I'm not a good guy" routine. It seemed like so much of the relationship between the 3 were one step forward 2 steps back.

I did love how the town butted into everything about their lives. From Nate getting Gemma to work for him, to all the guys giving Jesse and Cade advice, and for everyone hiding Gemma's troubles from Jesse and Cade until they had a "right" to now. I want more of the guys get together and the rules that they came up with on how to deal with these relationships, when they become real, and just what the rules are. It would make for a funny side bit!

I am always happy when Lexi Blake releases a new book. I know I am in for an incredible reading experience. The Nights in Bliss series is romantic suspense at its best with a cast of quirky characters that keep you smiling at their antics in the less serious moments. Lexi's humor is offbeat and will produce anything from a smile to an outright guffaw. This time around we have three characters who each carry a lot of baggage from their pasts. It's a real struggle for two of them, Genna and Cade, to trust that they can have love and an HEA while Jesse fights with everything that's in him to hold the trio together.

It always feels like coming home when Lexi Blake releases another story that takes place in Bliss, Colorado; because even though the main characters change, the small town inhabitants are still their quirky and entertaining selves, adding the perfect amount of comic relief to the mix of steam, suspense, and action that readers have come to expect when new people move to Bliss in order to start over but who and what they left behind aren’t quite finished with them.

In Chasing Bliss, Gemma Wells leaves her old life behind, giving up on love after being burned by her ex and destroying her professional life because she lost focus on what’s most important to her, not just the man who she thought would be her everything. What I found most interesting about Gemma is that her ‘ice princess’ moniker didn’t really seem to fit her…at least not who she is in Bliss.

Readers who read Pure Bliss are familiar with Jesse McCann and Cade Sinclair. Their reasons for coming to Bliss may have been about revenge more than anything else, but they’ve remained here and now call it their home. These two men are the best of friends and both want a relationship with a woman that includes the other. But this is where things get a bit messy and complicated because as much as they’re both attracted to Gemma and want her to complete their threesome, Cade doesn’t know how to let go of his past and move forward, which is a huge road block for making things work amongst the three of them, and Cade’s behavior while understandable made me extremely frustrated with him almost to the point that I wanted Gemma and Jesse to leave Cade behind if he couldn’t get his act together.

Catching up with previous heroes and heroines is another aspect of this series that I love. Even just a small check-in with them allows readers to see how these characters have grown and how they’re still living their best lives with the ones they love.

Gemma, Jesse, and Cade’s journey definitely has its ups and downs, partly due to their individual issues and concerns and partly due to Gemma’s past coming back to wreak even more havoc than it already has. But despite what these three are up against, it’s clear that the feelings they have for one another is strong enough to endure anything, even their own self-sabotaging ways.

5 Star Review Chasing Bliss (Nights In Bliss Colorado# 7) by Sophie Oak

Running from a scandal that she hasn’t gotten over, Gemma Wells , an attorney, has settled in Bliss with her mother. She has put up walls and is determined to not let any man in again, let alone two.

Jesse McCann and Cade Sinclair were introduced in the previous book and they captured my attention from the first moment they were mentioned. Initially arriving in Bliss to seek revenge (which they achieved) they now appear to have settled in Bliss for the time being.

All that changes when Jesse meets Gemma. He is besotted and believes that he has finally found “the one”. Cade is equally enamoured but his dark past means that he is more standoffish as he feels he doesn’t deserve her.

When Gemma’s fiance comes to town, danger abounds. Can Jesse and Cade keep the women they have come to care for safe or will the walls that she has surrounded herself with cost her, her life?

Chasing Bliss is a fun, smoking hot read with plenty of emotions and heartache which will keep you captivated.

It is always great to revisit Bliss because you get to see glimpses of previous characters and catch up on their lives. I love the quirkiness of the characters who call Bliss home and I cannot wait for the next adventure in Bliss.

This is the 7th book in the Nights in Bliss, CO. This book should be read in order but doesn't have to. They do mention the characters from the previous book but not in real detail.

Again this author had a way of drawing me into the book just like all the previous ones. I like how she builds the characters. It helps me feel like I know them. I get lost in the book and I can see myself in it.

After 7 books with only one not being a menage, it's nice to know the author can still keep the story line fresh with new scenarios. I didn't laugh as much or as hard in this book but it still had funny parts. Especially the situation with Max and Gemma towards the beginning of the book. The things people in Bliss, CO do for each other. Are there really places like this?

I already bought the next book Once Upon a Time in Bliss. I can't wait.

Attorney Gemma Wells life is in shambles when she comes to Bliss. After finding her fiance cheating on her, she attacked them in a public meltdown that ended up on YouTube. Now she's in her mother's hometown, trying to put her life back together and caring for her mother as she recovers from cancer treatment. Mechanics Jesse McCann and Cade Sinclair have shared women before, but neither one is sure they're ready for a new relationship, especially with Gemma, who has a reputation for being a bitch. But love is stronger than fear, and Gemma will need her men at her side when her ex-fiance comes back -- to kill her.

Maybe it's the fact that most of the Bliss books feature menage relationships that consist of two men (who are best friends, brothers, etc.) and one woman, but there's a sameness to the Bliss books that I don't like. On its own, the plot, characters, and actions are good, but Chasing Bliss is a lot like the other books that came before it.

Chasing Bliss by Lexi Blake is book 7 in the Nights in Bliss. This is the story of Gemma Wells, Jesse McCann and Cade Sinclair. I have been reading the books in order, and I think that added to my enjoyment. The previous characters from previous books are a sold show in all the books, but if you don't want to read them in order you can do so. This book and series has had some hot scene, some funny scene and the hot alpha males. Gemma is an attorney that doesn't come off to friendly at first but we start to learn why she has so many guards up. Jesse is all in pretty quick where Cade has issues with his past that he feels he doesn't deserve so one to love.
Marathon read for me.. couldn't put the book down.

And now we get Gemma, Jesse, and Cade all new to the Bliss town of Colorado. But are all part of the craziness we have come to love. Gemma is hiding out and taking care of her mother who is in all fairness a hippie and is part of the Bliss craziness more than her daughter at first.

Jesse and Cade we met in the last book when they were looking for Holly's ex-husband. But now that they have their business all finished up they are finally ready to settle down, and Gemma has caught their eye. But she is so headstrong, take charge, and well bull-headed that what is right in front of her she might miss before it is too late.

I really hope this is not the last book we get out of this crazy but wonderful town of Bliss!

Good story and a nice addition to the series. I did feel that the conflict or suspense aspect of the Gemma's story was a bit contrived. It still worked though.

I listened to the audio of this book with Kitty Bang and Lee Samuels narrating. My feelings about these narrators have not changed - Lee Samuels is fine, but not a big fan of Kitty Bang though mostly in her 'speaking' parts of her narration.

Gemma is an awesome character. She was who she was & she didn’t make any excuses about it. I loved how ballsy she was, she was a perfect fit for Bliss & especially for the Sheriff’s department. Even though I wanted to smack Cade a lot I still loved him & Jesse. Another great read set in Bliss. I can’t wait to get the next books in this series. I want Henry’s & Nell’s so bad I’m trying to stop myself from skipping ahead haha!

I struggled to like the h, she's in full scale panic mode for most of the book, and the intensity of her panic was well paced and well written. The Hs were complete opposites, one steady and ready and the other also in full panic mode, wanting to run away. It was intense and while I liked the story, the characters not so much. Still way better than so many other menage stories so decided I loved it for 4 stars.

Another emotional read from Sophie Oak.

Cade Sinclair and Jesse McCann, Long-Haired Roger's mechanics who were introduced in the last Bliss book, came to Bliss for revenge. Since helping James, Noah, and Hope get rid of Christian Grady, they've stayed in Bliss, unsure of what to do with their lives.

Gemma Well's path was set until an unfortunate event changes everything. She comes to Bliss with her mom, hoping to regroup and move on.

When the three meet, Jesse falls hard, but it's not exactly love at first sight for Gemma and Cade.

Chasing Bliss is Bliss at it's best. We have Nate and Stella warring to win Gemma's employment, Nell protesting in a most unusual fashion, and Gemma learning about the town crazies. The book is full of laugh out loud moments.

And it balances with several heartbreaking moments that left me needing a box of Kleenex nearby.

Chasing Bliss is a fun, emotional, and sexy read.

So, Awesome! I am ready to pack my bags and move to Bliss!

Sophie Oak has a wonderful way of telling a story that makes you laugh out loud, cry a box of tissues and never want it to end!

Gemma is awesome! Who wouldn't love a girl for taking a taser to Max!! Loved it!! From the opening scene!

Jesse and Cade are a perfect match for her! I love it when Stef plays matchmaker!

I need Michael and Sawyer to have stories in the not so distant future!

Another winner from a fantastic author!

This book took a bit to get into. Cade constantly trying to leave did drag after awhile but great mystery and suspense. I really like Cade being a naturist always taking his shirt off or wanting to get naked. In this book u got to see another side of Henry Flanders when he comes to rescue. Really looking forward to next book seeing how Henry went from government tight ass to tofu loving pacifist. As always great HEA, sexy, kinky and beautiful all in one book.

This story has Cade and Jesse, who are the two mechanics from the previous book meeting Gemma, who had recently come to town after seeing her fiance and co-worker in bed with someone else from the firm they work at. Gemma is definitely not wanting a relationship but she definitely is drawn to the guys. And, of course, someone is harrassing her which she assumes from one of her previous cases. I really enjoyed this one and will definitely get to the next one soon.
