Why are so many writers adding 200 to 300 pages of absolutely nothing? Why is so much of the books being dedicated to rambling "I am"? I stopped part 1 at them booking there flight I picked it up at Part 2 as they got ran off the road then skipped to where Slater got picked up. Skipped again to where King was at the home to save Slater. In the last 40 pages I knew about the earthquake. So what did I miss? Chapters of Hawks insane rants? Chapters of Slater going through his mind how awesome he is? Why can't anyone just write a thrilled without their inadequate ego telling a story that will never be there's no matter who often it's put on paper?
I love Jason King. I love Will Slater. I NOW HAVE THEM BOTH!!! I've loved them individually and now I have the pleasure of them together. You can't get much more action than these two. I really enjoyed the times they've worked together but this was special. Matt Rogers has gotten deeply into the personal fears of these men which showed the humanity that is still deeply ingrained in their souls even as they still rid society of the dregs of the earth. I hope this is only the first of the "Deadly Duo".
A step down from usual King and Slater novels. I felt like the book had way too much filler in the middle. A lot of chapters seemed to drag on with rambling thoughts instead of moving the story forward. I actually skipped big chunks and still didn’t feel like I missed anything important. Just long inner monologues of King and Slater that didn’t add much. The beginning and ending were solid, but the middle could’ve been tighter and more focused on the action. Sometimes less really is more. I think the story would’ve been much stronger if it stuck to the main plot instead of wandering off.
This Will Slater series was an absolutely fantastic read, action packed as usual, and with Jason King together it doesn't get better than this. Matt Rogers writes with passion and all his books are "can't put it down" Anxiously awaiting the next one.
Jason King comes out of retirement in order to find revenge for a horrible wrong inflicted upon him. He seeks out Will Slater to help due to Will's proficiency in technology. The guys work together well; but, find themselves caught up in an unbelievable quagmire. This is a Must Read for Black Force devotees.
Great to see King and Slater working together and delving into their own insecurities and psyche in order to defeat their latest evil doer! This book also brings up some rather interesting concepts relating to scientific advances which have left me thinking that these are issues we all need to be concerned about!
Do yourself a favor and read Matt Rogers’ work...I highly suggest starting with the King series and following it up with the Slater series. This was the most badass book in both of the series. Absolutely phenomenal writing that kept me on the edge of my seat throughout.
I would recommend reading these books when you are ready for a ride of your life. They are so absorbing and all consuming that I hated to come to the end of book 6. If you want something that draws you in, is explosive and you are not afraid of warrior like battles then this is a book for you.
Slater and King were always destined to be a team. This book shows why that is so good for us readers. Full of action, suspense, twists and horrible situations. This book has it all, it starts a slowly slowly for a Rogers book, but then goes to turbo speed and doesn't slow down to the absolute end. What a ride.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Read it in one day and wish it didn’t have to end. I always wondered when we would have the opportunity to see both King and Slater combine to release destruction against a common enemy. Thanks for an amazing book!
Wow JASON King and Will Slater back together again what a GREAT read COULDN'T put it down CAN'T wait for the next one out. GREAT STORY LINE AND WAS GREAT ON KEEPING YOU ON THE EDGE OF YOUR SEAT all the way through.

Matt Rogers has done it again. This is one of the most “fast paced” books I have read. It is certainly a page turner. Will and Jason have come back with a vengeance. No matter the situation, they seem to find a way out. Excellent story!
I give this book 4 stars, not the single star that my fumble fingers hit on. I'd correct it if I could figure out how to do that. It's a good, fast-paced read that kept me entertained.
Interesting how the story went down under since the author is from down under. I don't remember any of the other books going there. Never thought about their being glaciers in New Zealand.
Far too much self analysis, it became annoying and repetitive. I think the author is running out of ideas for his characters A pity as earlier books were good.
This book was great. Action and suspense all the way through. Just when you think you have it figured out something else happens. Matt Rogers really knows how to write . Highly recommend all of his books.
