There’s nothing quite like being trapped with the one man you can’t stand...

Caitlyn Brooks can’t believe her luck when her biggest rival turns up at an out of town conference she’s attending. CEO of the company threatening to take hers down, she wants nothing to do with Damien Reid or his billions. But the man behind the boardroom is so much more than she imagined.

Damien can barely believe it when Caitlyn shows up at the conference reception. He has no desire to spend a moment longer with the infuriating woman than he has to. Except he can’t seem to stop his eyes from following her or the unnerving need to ruffle her perfect feathers. When teasing turns to touching, he’s not sure if it’s the best or worst mistake of his life.

There’s no denying their companies are on a collision course and their hearts might not survive the fallout.

My love for writing started young. Luckily I had a family who encouraged believing in magic and embracing imagination. From stories quickly scribbled in bright pink diaries, my love of storytelling developed. Since then my characters may have evolved and my plots may have grown decidedly more steamy but I never lost my love of the written word. Writing is not only a way to silence the wonderful voices in my head, but it also allows me to share my passions with my readers. Hope you enjoy my titles!

3 Fun ⭐️

Quick and entertaining enemies-to-lovers/ office romance novel, that i don’t regret reading.
Both main characters are CEOs of rival companies, at each other’s throats all the time, but one kiss changes everything. Of course their chemistry is electric enough to say “oh, you can ruin my company and everything our fathers have worked for, but i don’t care, i want you”.
I admit, i got a little tired of hearing how much they hate each other and what would happen if they got involved, but once they did get involved, i really enjoyed their story.

I gave it 3⭐️ because of the third POV writing combined with first person inner thoughts, the same situation written from his and hers POV and also their dialogues with their friends were so much alike. Basically, there’s nothing really wrong with the plot or the characters, just the style of writting wasn’t really my taste.

All in all, i would recommend you to read it.

This is a quick, fun, sexy read with great characters and a nice easy pace to the story. Caitlyn and Damien head up rival companies and they each find the other infuriating. That is until they spend a little time together at a conference and discover the attraction between them far outweighs any business annoyance. Is it possible to share a bedroom while running opposing boardrooms? These two are about to find out! I definitely recommend this relaxing read.

A secret affair between rival CEOs -- seems like a good premise, right? Sadly things did not end well. Because there was nothing much that did work other than the premise I won't add a full review, but will list four of the author's fundamental failures and one thing she got right that got this to a 2-star from a 1-star:

1. I am 99.7% sure Davies does not know what a CEO does. There is a .3% chance she knew and just said, "F it, this sounds more fun than real CEO work does. Sure, a lot of romances since 50 Shades feature CEOs who don't actually do what CEOs do, but Davies put the story of the business rivalry front and center so it was an issue.
2. I am 100% sure Davies does not know anything about the phrama industry. Hint, it is not run by the neglected sons of founders of mom-and-pop businesses or by the idealistic daughters of Gepettos with chemistry degrees, who just want make things that save lives.
3. Successful CEOs don't attend business conferences to learn about new trends in marketing or to network for new hires unless it is Sedona or the Aspen Institute or something like that. That was weird.
4. Davies has seen Pretty Woman way too many times (see, e.g., item 2 on this list.)
5. The thing that did work here was the conversation between Caitlyn and Damien. It was kind, smart, and respectful but still often playful and sexy. And the sex was all of those things as well. If you lifted the romance between those two out of the rest of the book (which was all terrible) it could have been really good.

This was a fun and quick story about two business rivals, each CEO of their own business who happen to run into each other at a business conference. Caitlyn is now running her family business after her father stepped down for health reasons and doing a great job, despite Damien's efforts to sink her ship. He is CEO of a larger, more powerful corp that he inherited from his father, having only success drilled into his head. Damien doesn't just want her business, he wants Caitlyn and Caitlyn resists all week at the conference. Until she doesn't. What happens after that? When they both return home to Boston will that one night grow into something more? Will Damien continue to try and undermine her work? I loved the twists and turns and even those moments of angst I read with one eye closed while swearing at my kindle. Yes I did! Well written and great story. Loved it!

I really liked this book about two longtime business rivals giving into their attraction. The witty banter and tension drew me to their likable characters. They were straight with each other and there was no sneaking out in the middle of the night or angsty push and pull moments. At times it did feel slow, but I found myself always coming back and never skimmed.

I put off reading this for the cover alone. He doesn't fit the character I imagined. Plus, he kind of looks like Bill Hader (Stefan) who is not believable as a commanding and sophisticated CEO.

This is book three in the series, but it doesn't appear to share any characters.

Enemies to lovers Romance
Professional Rivals

I absolutely loved this book, Caitlyn and Damien are CEOs of their respective competing companies. Damien has been trying to buy her company from during her father's time as CEO.

They meet at a conference and are given rooms across from eachother at the hotel. They have undeniable chemistry and decides to pursue it for once. But this turn into a relationship.

But his mother poses problems when she finds problems with Caitlyn's business and tries to bring the company down. This causes rift between the couple. But....

The book has been very refreshing, i loved it from the first page itself, we have characters with very strong moral codes, making well thought out decisions and keeping a level head even when their hearts are at stake.

I loved their interactions, their friends and family. I had goosebumps towards the last chapters when he passionately reveals his true feelings. This is a must reread book 👌👌

The whole beginning with the Conference issue, I found it quite boring and tiresome. But once they returned to Boston and developed their relationship in their normal environment, I liked the story much more.

Caitlyn didn’t believe in mistakes. She held the reins of a booming business corporation-Brooks Corporation. She made decisions that impacted hundreds of jobs and millions of dollars. “Regret” was not a word in her vocabulary. She was now hit in a broom closet to try to avoid him. Caitlyn had come to this conference to recharge, get reinspired. She was meant to return to her company with new plans to trounce the competition. Clearly, she hadn’t been the only one with the idea. Why did that man have to be here, the man she could never beat- Damien Reid. For the past couple of years she had been chasing after Damien. Why did the one CEO she couldn’t beat be here. He was always one step ahead of her. One contract out of reach. One miracle break through pushed to market before she could counter. No matter what she did Caitlyn could never win against him. The man always knew it to. Than Damien stole her head of research to his company. Caitlyn than stole his accounting director, but they both knew his loss hadn’t been the same as hers. With all his billions and charm , Damien could afford to run circles around her, while she hung on by her fingertips. Than she heard a knock at the closet door and Damien asked here how long it would be before she came out. As always the sight of him made her breath hitch. Why did Damien have to be so attractive? Than she grabbed some spare hotel shampoo and told him she rather get it herself than bother someone to get it for her. . Damien told Caitlyn she didn’t know him as well as she thought she did. Caitlyn said she had known men like him all her life. Silver spooned charmers willing to rip apart livelihoods with a smile if it moved their stock price up a few points. Than Caitlyn found Damiens and her rooms were not only on the same floor but right across from each other. Damien thought stealing her head of research would slow her down , but Brooks was nipping at his heals and it was very annoying. Her company would never be as big or as powerful as his. Damiens company had been in existence for generations, Caitlin's father had started Brooks. Damien said they should call a truce while at the conference but Caitlyn said she wasn’t interested. Damien thought how Caitlyn was a problem since he planned on crushing Brooks Corporation. There had been a shift in Brooks since Caitlyn had taken it over three years ago. They’ve been gaining steam and damien needed to stop that. Damien than since Spencer who had been a friend since college when Damien had talked Spence out of some trouble. Spencer said they would have to make the most of this opportunity since it was rare they were in the same city at the same time. Spencer seen Caitlyn and asked who she was and wanted to meet her. Damien told Spencer she wasn’t one to mess with. Spencer said after he learned what company Caitlyn ran ‘ lucky he wasn’t in the drug world.” When hearing Caitlyn laugh at something Spencer said the urge for Damien to intervene was strong in him. Caitlyn started to relax as Spencer flirted with her. This she could do. Network, chat, make connections- it was all part of the job. Spencer mentioned Damien and he had met at college. Caitlyn was attracted to Damien and he was the last man she wanted to be attracted to. Than Caitlyn seen Shureen. They had met four years ago at a conference and Caitlyn had instantly liked her. Then they had kept in touch. They decided to go for drinks later. Caitlyn was determined to leave the conference with a way to make damien see her as his equal. Damien knew he would do whatever he had to do in order to ensure the survival of his company. As that was how he was raised, weaknesses had never been tolerated in his family. It was even less acceptable in his business. Damien offered to buy her out two times what he had offered in Boston, When Damien brushed Caitlyn’s waist excitement had surged through Caitlyn. She hadn’t felt that in a long time. Damien prevents Caitlyn from falling on her face when she tripped and talked her into having dinner with him.
I liked this book but it was fairly predictable. This was a quick, fun, easy read. I did like the plot nad pace. I read this in one day. I liked Caitlyn and Damien together and how they interacted. I chuckled at times while reading this. Caitlyn and Damien definitely had hot chemistry. I liked the characters and the twists and turns of this story and I recommend this book.

This story was adorable and hardcore all in one. The sweetness was so overwhelming sometimes I wanted to puke. Kind of like when I watch those sitcoms and the guys are super adorable. Just like that. Except....in CTC, both Caitlyn and Damien were each a badass in their own right. Caitlyn wasn't going to let anyone treat her like a welcome mat. She was CEO and she earned it. Caitlyn might have gotten that position because of her father but there was no question over whether or not she deserved it.
Damien was another CEO that was super efficient in his job. Same as Caitlyn, just because his father gave him the job didn't mean he didn't know how to do it.
CATCHING THE CEO was tricky, though. At first going into this story I thought Caitlyn was going to be trying to catch Damien. When in fact the opposite is true. This role reversal was really well written. Victoria Davies didn't make Caitlyn a hardass that wasn't soft or feminine at all. On the contrary, Caitlyn was very feminine and soft and "in tune with her feelings" as most females are. Damien could have easily been a wishy washy malleable man but he wasn't. He knew what he wanted and he wasn't afraid to go after it, or her. Neither one of them had a terrible moment where a reader might say that it sounded sort of dickish or like a bitch or anything like that. Neither one was jealous. Neither one was possessive. Neither one wanted to limit the other.
In fact, Damien and Caitlyn wanted the other to succeed. And that made all the difference in this story. Because they wanted to succeed, neither one was willing to hold the other back.
And I loved it.

Caitlyn is attending an out of town conference and never expected to see her nemesis Damien Reid, CEO of Reid enterprise. He has been after her company and she didn't want to start the conference facing him all week long. When she was trying to hide from Damien, it made everything worse for her. It fuel him to tease her more.
Not only she has to face him, they booked same floor. Now she has to find away to avoid him and enjoy the rest of the conference.
Damien never expected to find Caitlyn so soon. He is having great time annoying Caitlyn. More he runs into her, he enjoying more time with her and he wants to spend more time with her. So he decided to get her to have a dinner with her.
Their chemistry is off the chart and it will test their will. Now they wanted to live at the moment and have one night and go back to their normal selves.
After amazing night, they had to go back to where they were. They wanted to be away from each other but it didn't last long until Damien shows up at her doorstep. They didn't know what would happen but they promised each other, company will come first and keep work out of each other.
That is easy until problem cause more problems for both.. Will they give up their love for work or find a way to be with each other.

I ended up loving Damien and really sold on their love. It was really cute and quick read. Both were strong and smart CEOs. Loved when Damien stood up for Caitlyn when he was facing his mother.
I only read this one and I enjoyed it.

4.5 Stars!

Catching The CEO by Victoria Davies is an entertaining novel. This is the fourth book I have read by Ms. Davies, and I will continue to seek out her new offerings. If you are looking for a standalone romance with a well-defined couple, a corporate setting, and sexy love scenes, then this romance is for you.

Caitlyn Brooks and Damien Reid are both CEOs of pharmaceutical companies. They are rivals and fierce competitors in the industry. When they end up attending the same out of town conference, the years of smoldering chemistry between them develops into an amazing night of passion. It is impossible for them to stay away from each other once they return to their hectic lives in Boston, so they evolve their one night stand into much more. An unscrupulous move by Damien's selfish mother almost ends their relationship and Caitlyn's company, however, their love is able to withstand it all.

This is a well-written book, and Caitlyn and Damien are complex, interesting and fun. Their professional competitiveness is quite absorbing and their love for each other is replete with longing. If you enjoy a story with a lot energy and passion, then this novel is for you.

If you are looking to read a quick contemporary romance book, then I recommend Catching the CEO by Victoria Davies. This was the first book I read from this author, and I enjoyed it. It’s the third book in The Billionaire’s Second Chance, but can be read as a standalone. One of the reasons why I liked this book was due to the fact it was Enemies to Lovers story. I’ve always loved this trope in romance stories. I also love when an author has both main characters point of views in the story too. This is when you can read both characters feelings for each other and its not one-sided.

Story Rating: 4 stars

Steaminess Rating: 3.5 stars

Standalone or part of series: Part of series, but can be read as a standalone since each book has a different couple/storyline.

Do I recommend this book? Yes.

Will I read other books from the author? Yes.

Trope/Elements: Enemies to Lovers; Hero: Powerhouse CEO, Father/Mother have only cared for the company and not their son, especially the vindictive mother; Heroine: Powerhouse CEO, father/mother originally ran company, but they turned it over to the heroine.

Caitlyn Brooks is at an annual conference in New York to attend workshops and see old friends. When she runs into Damien Reed, her nemesis, she’s upset for two reasons. First, he wants to buy out her pharmaceutical company. Second, he makes her hot and bothered. Her company was started by her parents, and now that her father has cancer, she needs to continue the legacy.
Damien needs Caitlyn’s company before they come up with a cancer drug that he knows she’s working on. The problem is she’s not only a rival but he is extremely attracted to her. Getting together after their seminars for dinner and drinks, wasn’t in the plans. However, Caitlyn found that Damien is totally different than the person he portrays.
After their one night of sex, that was explosive, both decide this is a one time deal. That sounded great, except neither one can stop thinking about the other. When Damien shows up at her front door, one more night turns into two, three and then weeks. Are they in a relationship? The one thing they both agree on, that their companies will not be involved. However, their feelings run deep now. What happens now?!
This is my first book by this author and I know it won’t be my last.

This was a fun, quick read. Damien and Caitlyn are both CEO’s of their own companies, rivals from the very beginning. Of course, they love to push each other’s buttons and get under each other’s skin so when they are out of their home town of Boston for a conference, they both let into the attraction and give into the sexual tension brewing.

Just one night. One night to get it out of their system, however, it is never just one night. One-night leads to another and another and soon months have passed, and they are spending all their time together. They never talk about work, until Damien finds out some news that is damaging to Caitlyn’s company. Will their relationship be able to survive?

I loved the banter between these two. It was entertaining throughout the story. Their chemistry was one and off for me. At times I felt that it was super strong and other times throughout the story I felt that it was just a small flame. Overall, I did enjoy this book and I have enjoyed other books I’ve read by the author as well. For anyone who loves a fun, quick office/enemies romance this is one to check out.

What's worse than dealing with your biggest rival? The answer is being trapped with him. Yep, that would stink. Damien and Caitlyn are attending the same conference out of town. Caitlyn has a major reason to detest him - he's threatening to demolish her company. But she's quickly learning maybe he isn't as bad as she thought he was.

She infuriates him, yet he can't stop watching her. Plus, he's learning he's having fun messing with her. But it becomes so much more as the passion between them ignites into an uncontrollable urge to explore. What's he supposed to do when their companies are at complete odds but he wants her more than anything else. Soon, Damien wants more than to take over her business...he wants it all.

Can Damien and Caitlyn separate their professional lives from their personal ones? What happens if they can't? Will they have to decide which is more important? Or will everything else fade as they fall?

One-click now and follow along as two people at odds realize there's so much more between them.

Catching the CEO we a great read. If you are looking for a well written, easy read with a loveable female and hot and equally hot male here's the book for you.

When these two CEOs meet up at a conference their years of being competitive rivals is in full force. Damien is quick you tease and taunt Caitlyn like a high schooler with a crush. Caitlin is quickly annoyed she sharp tongued back to Damien just as a teenager dodging the pesky boy annoying her.

Walls aren't the only things these two let fall, good sense and clothes bite the dust us well. Now they are headed home from the conference, biter rivals and secret one-time lovers.

Time apart but in the same city soon becomes too much for either to bare. But is giving in to the unrelenting temptation in their best interest or the companies? The entanglements that these two face when balancing rival companies and a secret affair are tough to handle. Family aren't the only ones who won't approve when you have a board of directors breathing down your neck.

I enjoyed this book, I have some of Ms. Davies books before and have enjoyed them and this was one of them. We meet Caitlyn who is the CEO of her fathers small pharmaceutical company and she can not let him down, this has been her fathers work and he is dying of cancer now and she knows that the success lies with her. Unfortunately for her, her rival is none other than the gorgeous Damien Reid, even though she hates him she can't help but be attracted to him. While they are on a r/r trip that they both claimed they needed to decompress (that part didn't make much sense since they were in conferences all day-work related) but anyhoo regardless they felt it was some mini vaca and Damian knowing he should stay away can't help but seek out Caitlyn. They give into the attraction and have an explosive night together both agreeing that after that they will go their separate ways, except that is not what happens!..Enjoy!

Damien and Caitlyn are rivaling companies in creating cures in the medical world. Damien has taken over his father's company, cutthroat business, while Caitlyn also is taking over her father's company after her father is dying with an incurable disease. Damien and Caitlyn grew up very different. Damien from a loveless home, expectations from a father who was a cutthroat workaholic and a mom who was more worried about her reputation than being a mother.

D and C have always had the simmering chemistry. It has been cooking for years, and they're at a conference away from the pressures of work. They have one night and he knows there is something more.

As much as they fight it, they know, something is there. Will their rivalry hurt their chances of being happily together? I love a good enemies to romance story, and this was easy, quick read that had me flipping to finish till the end.

Catching the CEO is a fun, light read with a hero and heroine that are both CEO’s of rival companies. They love seeing how far they both can push one another and see who can sink under the skin first.

It starts with a out-of-town conference with sexual tension but this time both give in to their attraction to each other, each one promising it is only for one night. Somehow one night doesn’t end and days become months. When one of the finds out that something could damage the others company.

Can this last or will it be the end?

I love a book that doesn’t just tell it shows. The intense banter between the two is great. The chemistry is just right. As I said it’s a quick enjoyable read for enemies to lovers, which is my favorite trope.

So I totally loved this book! Damien and Caitlyn had me in stitches. They had such sensual foreplay, which is what I consider all the scenes with their bantering. Their rivalry, competition kept them in each other's professional lives with a deeply secret attraction on both sides. Reading Damien's transformation from ice attic exterior to a wanting to be the man for Caitlyn was totally sweet. The things he would do for her after getting to know her better was heartwarming. And she made him feel human, want things he did not think he would want, and realize that love is truly unconditional. This is one couple that I could reread over and over again as well as enjoy a series continuing to know their future.

Another winner! I loved this tale of romance between two business rivals, both CEO's of their own pharmaceutical companies. Once they take a step over the line while away at a conference, it's impossible to put the genie back in the bottle....

Caitlyn is the smart leader of the company her father started and is devoted to helping find medications for others so they won't suffer like her dad. Damien is running his dad's company, but only cares about winning at any cost.....until he finally finds a price he's unwilling to pay.

I found myself caring about this unlikely couple and felt invested in their story. I wanted them to get their HEA ending.

If you are a fan of the genre, you will love this book. The author is on my must read authors' list.

A little bit of a slow start, but Caitlyn and Damien's story ended up being a great read!

They are CEOs of opposing companies, but after running into each other at a conference they find it difficult to fight their attraction. While the story does mainly focus on the balance of work and romance, I did enjoy the focus on family and loyalty.

There were some really sweet moments between Caitlyn and Damien and even though they do have obstacles to overcome there is minimal angst.

A nice addition to Victoria Davies' series! Though it is the third in her Billionaire's Second Chance series, it can be read as a standalone.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing an ARC for an honest review.

Caitlyn and Damien are CEO’s of rival pharmaceutical companies, who butt heads on a regular basis. But as infuriating as they find each other, there is an underlying attraction brewing between them. When they meet at an out of town conference, getting each other out of their system before going back to real world seems like a good idea. But sticking to it is another matter all together.
Catching the CEO is an enjoyable read. It is a very well written book, and I loved the way the story unfolded. Caitlyn and Damien has me rooting for them right from the start. It is a fun, hot, and swoon worthy read that I will happily recommend.
