It's taken years, but elementary-school librarian Heather Shulman is finally where she wants to be in life. Memories of her abusive ex have faded, her two kids are happy and healthy and involved in more extracurricular activities than she can follow, and she's made peace with her family. Yes, she's pleased...and it only meant giving up on one of her dreams.
Her scriptwriting was never going to be famous anyhow. And by taking commissions to re-write Shakespeare's plays for her son's teen theater program, she gets to practice, at least. The program's Valentine's Day production of Twelfth Night is going swimmingly...until the lead's uncle shows up!
Jack Raven is one of Hollywood's heartthrobs, and he's got a secret. That persona is just a mask to hide his true self, Jonathan Ravenwing. And as Jonathan, he agrees to help with his niece's Shakespearean performance, even though he's much more comfortable with the black-leather-and-explosions type of theater! But the longer he stays in small-town Idaho, the more he resents having to pretend to be someone else, just to be successful.
Who would've guessed a divorcee librarian from a small town could find love with an American legend? But these two have more than just their careers standing in their way. Get ready for a legendary Valentine's Day!
This is another exciting book in the Quinn Valley Ranch series. I love how the whole family is so close and have each other's back. The story line is fun and definitely makes we want to wander around my local library again to find a gem of a book or two and maybe go see a play. The heroine has lost her self confidence after being in an abusive relationship years ago. She finds her inner strength that was just hiding when a special man comes her life. This small town feels like family romance was a lot of fun to read.. Published February 10th 2019 I was given a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.
Books are a great vacation from the world, but I love when an author is talented enough to add a bit of realism to the story. At the start, the reader is pulled into a culturally deep topic. The art is to use the external context to give the story flavor without overwhelming the reader and leaving a feeling of guilt, embarrassment , or other discomfort. This is what Caroline does well -- she introduces hard topics, exposes both character AND social/contextual flaws, and then helps the reader move along in the story. The issue, whatever it is, doesn't go away nor does it get brushed over. But the story of romance and love is built on, around, and through the flaw. I love it.
If you're looking for just a little more meat to the boy-meets-girl story, this book is for you.
I truly enjoyed reading this book! It's a sweet & charming story. Heather, is a single mom & the elementary school librarian. The school recently received very generous donations. One is from the famous actor, Jack Raven. They had a chance meeting, when he was being given a tour of the school. The next time they see each other, is during school's play rehearsal. Jonathan Ravenwing, aka Jack Raven, is smitten with the librarian. He asked Heather, on a date. Jonathan, has worked hard to became a leading actor. Being an American Indian has caused roadblocks in his career. But he likes just being Jonathan, & who he is when he's with Heather & his family. It's just a matter of trusting your heart & being open to love. I loved everything about the story!!!
A charming story of two people, living day to day, but not pursuing their dreams. Heather Schulman came from an abusive marriage and has her whole world revolve around her two children. She's a wonderful character that will make you laugh and cry. Jack Raven is hollywoods heartthrob, but all he really wants is to be known for who he really is. Through friendship, they're able to look outside the box. I loved this story and the mention of fairies makes me want to read the previous books in the series as well!
Caroline Lee's fun, whimsical story make the reader want explore the local library, attend a theater production or Western movie, and reread Shakespeare's plays. Delightful characters, intriguing setting, twist and turn plots, and a believable resolution. Local movie star meets librarian. River End Ranch and fairies are mentioned. As an avid reader, always delighted how Caroline Lee reinvents a classic into a modern spin -Shakespeare's Twelfth Night.
I have been waiting to hear Heather's backstory. I lived through something similar. I am sad that she withdrew from her family while she was going through it. Jack Raven is another back story I had been waiting to hear. This story tells how he changed his name to be able to quit being stereotyped in the acting world. I am glad that these 2 found out they could be their real selves with each other and not be judged by it.
Such a heartwarming story. Heather has had to be strong for her children after divorcing her abusive husband. She doesn't expect a hunny heartthrob actor to knock her world off it's axis. She finds out there is so much more than to Jonathan than his Jack persona. It turns out they are just what each other needs. But he has to go back to Hollywood. How can they make this work? I received a complimentary audio and this review is voluntary.
Caroline Lee has a gift for touching the heart. The characters in this book are real and come alive on the page. From the heroine, having suffered an abusive relationship in the past, to the hero, dealing with his identity and diversity, to young love between sweet teenagers, to precocious children, this book has all the feels. Throw in an eye opening conversation with a grandmother, catching up with friends from River’s End Ranch and an exciting bachelor auction. Wonderful read!
The hero is an American legend and the heroine is an amazing young woman who has been through so much and has come out stronger and better with scars that no one can see. This family story just warms the heart and makes you believe that love wins. This story is one that leaves such a lasting impression yet I have trouble saying what I love most about it. To experience the depth you just need to read it.
Cute and entertaining short story about an actor who come to town and just happens to me the town librarian. She had rewritten the school play and it so happens her son and the actor's niece are in the play together. This adds additional excitement and some very funny moments as the two adults watch as the children begins to express their feelings and love and liking someone.
A definite favorite in this series. I love how Jonathan puts together the horrible past Heather endured. When she pushes herself out of her comfort zone to figure out a way to keep him in Quinn Valley and in Hollywood at the same time, is a testament of how hard she has worked to overcome that past.
What her son says at that pivotal moment will pull at your heart ~
He may be legend Jack Raven to his fans but to Heather he's Jonathan Ravenwing
Just WOW! I love this romance. A powerful movie star (Legend) I'd in town to visit his sister and her family and when he meets the librarian she can't even speak a coherent word. She's one of the Quinn cousins . It's a sweet and fun story!
I loved this book! Not only does it touch on acceptance of who you are but it touched my heart how the author approached how a single mom handles getting back in the dating world. Oh and I even understood a little bit of Shakespeare!!! Lol. Touching but also funny!
Wow, this book made me laugh and smile. Jonathan and Heather made a perfect match. Couldn't put the book down. I loved the ending. I received this book for free but truly loved the book and voluntarily leave my review
I love when the characters from Rivers End Ranch and Quinn Valley come together. It's like revisiting old friends. Heather really deserves a happy even after and there wasn't anyone better than Jonathan.

Heather's story was a long time coming and Caroline Lee doesn't disappoint with this delightful story. I really enjoy how its a stand alone story, but also ties in to other books. You don't want to miss this one!
Perfect finally a broken heart and hurting low self esteem are healed and become the real person who loves family and community and finds the place where she belongs with her extra special someone!
Hannah had to get past her negative image of herself from her first marriage. Johnathan needed to return to his roots. The two of them were able to help each other and love was a bonus.
Heather has a hard time trusting men after her ex husband. When she meets Jack Raven she can't believe he could be interested in her. This is a wonderful story with characters that you can't help but root for!
I like it all the love of the chacters and it also has romance and it made me laugh at some of the people in the book. Olive a romance that Thad romance and laughter.

Well written, the characters were interesting /likeable and a it was a feel good story. Have been enjoying the family connections. I come from a large family and family is so important!!
Heather's story has a very hard back story. She is such a strong wonderful character. The author addressed the abuse issue with a soft touch and without making it solely about the abuse. Well done. The lovely hunk of man is just what she needs.
Her son acts and she re- work a play to cowboy style for them. His niece is acting in the play and he's on vacation till his next movie starts. They meet and starting to know one another at a slow pace. She finds away for him to be back home.
It was great to finally read Jack Raven's story. Heathers story has featured in previous books and I loved reading how she gets her happily ever after. Fantastic book.
That was an awesome story. So much excitement and lots of honest feelings. So glad for this family. It is going to be an awesome adventure for all of them
