Warm, sweet and funny. Laura Drewry writes the kind of books to snuggle up with on a lazy afternoon.
Brett Hale’s past has shaped him into a serious, precise, safety first, good officer of the law. And even though he seldom smiles or jokes and generally presents an ice-cold façade, that doesn’t mean he can’t be a smart-aleck, crack a joke or has cute and sexy charms. It’s just that no one has ever brought it out.
Ellie Palmer thought she had left her past behind along with her very bad impression of cops and any interaction with them. But her lippy personality and heavy foot on the pedal makes Officer Brett pull her over frequently showing her his by-the-book attitude which irritates Ellie to no end.
Forced into contact by their mutual friends, made to see each other because of Ellie’s somewhat reckless driving and imposed to spend more time together faking a personal relationship by the appearance of a threat from her past. What did they think would happen?
I really enjoyed both Ellie and Brett’s characters. Ellie’s sass, determination and strength and Brett’s alpha protectiveness and good guy demeanor under the cop guise. Laura Drewry writes endearing characters that feel very real. Their banter was so fun and engaging.
I loved how the mandatory time together let them to get to know one another, see beyond the surface and chip away the walls they had erected. The slow process from animosity to friendship and the slow build to more was an enjoyable sweet torture.
As with all of the previous books in this series, Laura also links her pop culture knowledge and to her stories by providing, in this case, great cop show/movie quotes at the beginning of each chapter. And since I’ve read the previous books I it was also great having the gang from those books back and lending their help and support and making the story richer.
Book facts: Accidentally in Love is book 3 in the Friends First series with interconnecting characters but can be read as a standalone. It’s written from both points of view. No cheating. Happy ending.

WOW!
I love this author's story-telling and voice!
Her characters are great and her writing is wonderful.
This is the third book I've read by this author (also the third book in this series), and each one of her stories gets better and better!
In this series the main characters start out as friends and to their utter amazement their soul-mates have been sitting right in front of them all this time... they just had to figure it out for themselves. How they finally come to this conclusion is what makes these books fun and wonderful to read.

Ellie has had a really bad experience with the cops so she holds a grudge against all police officers. It doesn't help that she is constantly getting pulled over by Officer Brett Hale. Brett is a follow the rules type of guy. Ellie gives him a hard time but when she is in a situation where she needs his help, she finally gets to see there's a lot more to him than just looking good in a police uniform. I really enjoyed several things about this story. Ellie and Brett really don't like each other at the beginning of this story but I really like how their friendship develops. I like the banter between Ellie and Brett and also Ellie and her friends. I liked the storyline - Brett protecting Ellie from her ex. Also, there was a lot of sexual tension. My only complaint about this book is that there might of been a little too much build-up and not enough action as far as the romance aspect goes. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for Maya's story next!

An easy read that allows the reader to like both Ellie and Brett. Ellie can't stand Brett but only because of his profession. Brett doesn't like how Ellie doesn't like him. The two end up as unlikely allies when a problem from Ellie's past comes knocking at her door. There's a sassy heroine, a duty driven and tender hearted hero, and a happy ending.
There isn't much to dislike about this story so it receives a solid 4 star rating from me. It didn't blow me away or make me have screaming fits, but I did enjoy it with zero struggle to finish. Ellie has a sassy mouth, is fluent in sarcasm, and knows what she's about. Honestly, I liked her because she's quite modern with a few very classic values. Brett is the all American kind of guy who wants to do good. He doesn't abuse his position as a cop but also still strongly believes in the system. When he and Ellie finally collide romantically, it's quite beautiful to watch unfold.

Not my favorite in the series even though I love the way Laura Drewry writes. It is kind of old school sweet and comfy romance with a lot of humor and emotion.
Can be read a s standalone.
Also I would like to point out if you are fans of friends to lovers troupe I would call only book one truly that, book two was more of friends with benefits and this one enemies to lovers...just to clear out name of the series.

In Spanish there is a quote that says something along the lines of whatever you don’t like you end up having in your household. For instance, my grandma hates tattoos but my brother and I have them. Accidentally in love definitely reminded me of that quote for the simple fact that Elle hated cops because when she needed them the most there was nothing they could do for her. She couldn’t trust them, she would rather deal with things by herself then to call cops and never in her wildest dreams did she expect she’d have to rely on Brett the one who ALWAYS stops her and even evoked her license. Never did she expect to actually like Brett despite the fact that he is a cop.
It’s crazy how love works. Sometimes you fall in simple by accident.
Our Story
Accidentally in love is told in third person point of view with snippets of what each of the main characters is thinking.
Accidentally in love takes place in Canada which I found to be so cool, I hardly ever read books that take place outside of the U.S. so this was definitely interesting.
The story is about Elle who has a problem with speeding and is constantly being pulled over by Brett. She has no problem telling him where he can shove his badge up, nor does she have any problem voicing her opinion about how much she hates cops. The story gives a brief history about why she doesn’t trust cops and she is totally justified but Brett isn’t like any other cops. He does take his job seriously, he always puts safety first and is the only one who truly help Elle get rid of that ex who just doesn’t understand “we are never ever getting back together”.
What I loved most about this story wasn’t just the romance it was the fact that Brett tried so hard not to cross the line between professional and unprofessional. He truly had Elle’s interest at heart and knew if they did cross that line his mind would be clouded and he wouldn’t be able to perform his job. Granted, my mind was frustrated because c’mon kiss her already, but I really did enjoy this story. It was really light and easy read, I definitely would have liked more suspense but overall I really enjoyed it.
Our Characters
Elle is a stubborn, independent, speed devil woman. She doesn’t like cops because of things of her past. She speaks nothing but the truth even if that means your feelings will be hurt. She’s extremely competitive and someone I could easily see myself getting along with. I loved how in the beginning of the book she was hard to read but towards the end of the book she was really sweet.
Brett is Mr. Safety first, which Elle always makes fun but it is part of his charm. I loved how he wasn’t an over the top caveman he was a perfect gentlemen he was also very professional and didn’t cross the line even when his heart told him to. He was a very respectable man. I especially loved how he wasn’t impulsive like seriously that is so hard to find now at days but Brett is our exception. He was able to stand out and be a real sweet caring professional non-caveman. It was hard not to love him even when he was trying to keep to himself you ended up loving him.
Overall
This is a quick and light read with a little bit of suspense thrown in. I loved the family unit of friends presented in the book and I loved the relationship that Elle and Brett had, their banter, the way they were with each other. I really just enjoyed the entire story.

Accidentally in Love is the book I’ve needed for a while now. There was none of that instant attraction where most of the story centers around the main couple just having sex and not much time actually getting to know each other, which seem to me the theme lately in a lot of the books I’ve been picking up. So it was a nice change to read something different for me, where the characters spend actual time together and don’t just hop into bed together right away. So this was the perfect book for me right now.
Accidentally in Love is book three in the Friends First series by Laura Drewry. I really enjoyed this book and the previous ones, the series keeps getting better! Accidentally in Love is the story of Ella Palmer and Brett Hale, for those who have read the other books both characters have been in the previous stories. Ella doesn’t trust cops and no one could blame her with the bad experience she had in the past. Brett is a cop and has been lucky enough to pull Ella over many times for speeding, but this time he has to revoke her license. Brett and Ella haven’t really spent much time together, but now they have to since Ella has to go to a driver safety class and Brett is the teacher, but this isn’t the other thing that will bring these two together. Ella past is back in the form of her ex-boyfriend and he is stirring up trouble. To stay safe Ella has to put her trust into the police and Brett. The more time Brett and Ella spending together the more they start to fall for each other with which is a conflict of interest since Ella is a case Brett is working.
Ella is a smart ass, her quick wit and nervous rambling kept me laughing, she is definitely a likeable character. I’ve always liked Brett from the previous books, but I loved him in this one. He was such a gentleman and all around good guy or as Ella liked to call him Dudley Do-Right. Like the other books each chapter started with a quote from a police movie or show. I love how Laura adds those little touches to each other her books, it’s like a nice surprise at the beginning of every chapter. Accidentally in Love had everything I wanted in a book, humor, mystery and romance. It left me wanting more, so I’m really looking forward to Maya’s book.

The Friends First series keeps getting better and better, loved Accidentally in Love.
Loved the characters and storyline, Laura Drewry has once again given her readers a wonderful and enjoyable storyline with believable and relatable characters that will make their way into your heart.
Ellie and Brett's story had me laughing from the first page, I knew I was going to enjoy seeing these two get together. I loved seeing them come from enemies to friends to lovers.
I just couldn't put this book down.
While Accidentally in Love can be read as a standalone I highly recommend you read the previous books because like me you'll enjoy the friendships and banter so much more =)

Any time I see a book or author being compared to Jill Shalvis I'm intrigued. So far, there haven't been any that really come close. Until now.
Love love love Ellie and Brett. They're so different in so many ways and it's delightful seeing them struggle with their feelings. She outspoken and snarky and he's straight laced and quiet. They bring out something in each other and I loved the chemistry and UST.
I'll admit that the stalker premise is a little played out, but I thought it was done well. I was good and creeped out by what was happening. There are some good secondary characters as well.
Overall, it was a cute and fun read. I'll definitely be looking at the other books in the series.

Happy Release Week!
This is the third book in the Friends First Series. It can be read as a stand alone. But I loved the first two books, Plain Jayne and Prima Donna. The characters from those books are in this one, too.
As I read the first page of this book, I remembered one of the reasons I give this author's a FIVE BOOKMARK rating: The flow is so well done. She doesn't use flowery prose. As an editor, there isn't one thing I'd change. Her writing pulls me in and immediately immerses me in the story. She pulls my heartstrings and then she makes me laugh. She gives me a great HEA with all the feels necessary.
Yep. All that.
We start with Ellie getting another ticket from Officer Brett. We don't know how many this makes, but it's a LOT...and he takes her license, too. You know that saying about love and hate being two sides to the same coin? Well, Ellie is pretty sure she is coming up on hate for this law officer. Mind you, she has deserved every ticket she's been given, which just ticks her off more.
For his part, Brett Hale is a by the book guy. He's not targeting her, he just catches her speeding all the time. He wonders how they are going to work together on the slow pitch team he's just joined, but her honesty dovetails nicely with his drive.
One of the reasons they strike sparks off each other is because she was pretty much done badly by other officers when she was jailed for drug charges; jailed even though she was innocent. When Ellie's creepy ex shows up, it irks her that she has to depend on Brett for protection while the police try and catch him.
Their relationship grows and changes, and it was a joy to read. Add in the laughs brought about by a visit from her mother and this book definitely goes on the TO READ AGAIN shelf!
With this one, the four women we've come to know, Jayne, Regan, Ellie, and Maya are once again a delight to read about. The next book puts Maya in the lead, and I can hardly wait to read her journey to an HEA.

This was my first book from author Laura Drewry and I will definitely be checking out more from her in the future. Right off the bat I found myself not only hooked but I was able to connect with the story and the characters. I loved the banter between Ellie and Brett. In fact, there were a few times that I found myself chuckling at these two.
Ellie is a ball buster and she's got sass and I loved her humor. She's witty and some of the things she thinks and says had me laughing out loud. I loved reading her interactions with Brett. Ellie isn't a fan of cops at all and I thought some of things she thought and said to Brett were hilarious.
Brett...ah Brett was such a great hero. For reals. He's protective, caring, sexy and a cop. I mean who doesn't love a sexy cop? But for real, I really loved that he truly cares for his job and takes it so seriously. I also loved the way he was with Ellie. He was kind and really listened to her and put her needs first. *sigh*
I really enjoyed the relationship between Ellie and Brett. I loved that they they didn't jump into bed with each other right off the bat. They go from enemies to friends to eventual lovers and it was great to watch their progression. You really get a sense of their feelings for one another and the feelings feel honest and true.
My only complaint is that is took a bit too long for them to finally hook up. Don't get me wrong, I love a great build up but theirs seemed to take a bit too long and then when it finally does happen the book is just about over. I would have loved to see more of these two as an actual couple. The chemistry was there and they have so much sparks that I just wanted to see more of the sizzle.
All in all, Accidentally in Love was a great story. It's sweet, cute, funny and I just couldn't get enough. I'll definitely be on the lookout for more from Laura Drewry in the future and plan on picking up the previous books in this series.

Loved this latest installment in the Friends First series. This author has a great way of telling a story and keeping your interest all the way through the book. In this one we have Ellie Palmer, who moved to town to start over and get away from her past. Unfortunately her past has found her. The only person who can really help her is her nemesis Officer Brett Hale. She really has no problem with Brett, other than he's a cop and she doesn't trust cops. Ever! And this particular one seems to take great pleasure in stopping her every time he sees her on the road.
The witty banter between these two make this at times a laugh out loud read. I really felt their chemistry flare to life as their relationship changed. This book is wonderfully written and will definitely give you hours of entertainment. I highly recommend it.

#3 in the Friends First romance series
Very fun. This book covered all the bases. It was a bit of a police procedural as we followed the case against Ellie's stalker. And there are warm friendship parts where we revisit friends from previous books in this series. And the romantic scenes are hot! The characters are the best part of this story. Ellie has a leadfoot when driving her car, and Brett is unfortunately the cop who keeps pulling her over. Add to that the fact that Ellie had a very bad experience in her past with the legal system, and naturally she's not pleased or receptive to any friendship overtures, not that he's particularly offering any. However, when Ellie's stalker reappears, Brett becomes intimately involved in her case and in her life, much to her chagrin. But as they start to feel sparks, they realize that the sparks are more romantic than contentious. This is my favorite of the series so far (and that's really saying something because the other books have been great too). Drewry really knows how to build some well-rounded and warm feel-good characters.

This is the first book I've read in the series and I never felt like I was at a disadvantage by skipping the first two. If anything, I now want to go back and read those stories. Each of the characters were very likable with their different personalities. Their chemistry as a group added a lot to the overall story.
Ellie and Brett are definitely opposites and it's a slow build as they come to terms with their feelings for each other. They have a lot of chemistry- either the physical or fighting kind. I really liked the premise of him being a straight and narrow constable/policeman and her being a sassy says it like it is habitual lead foot/speeder. Their banter provides a lot of humor and light moments as they also deal with a stalker ex-boyfriend.
The final resolution with the ex was a bit underwhelming from what I built up in my mind and how it was escalating. The story would dip at times, but then pick up as the tension built between Brett and Ellie (will they/won't they) and what was the ex going to do next. BUT the slower pace also fit the characters and their gradual realization of their feelings for each other. It wasn't an instalove and they grew from frienemies to friends to lovers.

Une romance qui avait hyyyyper bien commencé !
Super drôle, ultra choue, références (ponch, lol) et dialogues géniaux... Gros potentiel donc.
Mais comme très souvent dans les RC, après 30% j'ai perdu de l'intérêt.
J'ai trouvé ça lent. Il y a certes des passages et pensées mignonnes mais il n'y a concrètement aucune avancée que ce soit niveau intrigue de fond (avec l'ex) ou dans leur relation, pendant très très longtemps. (TRES longtemps, si vous voyez ce que je veux dire).
Les histoires avec les fake boyfriends, je trouve ça toujours très sympa mais dès qu'on rentre dans le "non mais il/elle s'en fout en vrai, c'est que pour le plan et le jeu", ça commence à me gonfler... quand ça dure 70%, je suis à la limite du craquage nerveux.
En parlant de craquage nerveux, j'ai aussi un problème avec les réactions des héroïnes qui ne me paraissent pas crédibles.
Ici, le coup de "non non je rentre à pieds / en vélo / je vous appelle" m'a tuée car je refuse de croire qu'une fille de 30 ans dirait ça dans la situation de l'héroïne.
J'ai donc trouvé le temps très long et le fait d'avoir eu peu de temps pour le lire et de l'avoir donc lu en plusieurs fois n'a pas aidé, vu qu'à chaque fois que je refermais et rouvrais le livre, rien n'avait évolué.
Ceci étant dit, si vous êtes moins regardante que moi sur les détails, c'est une romance très mignonne, avec une évolution des sentiments très bien amenée, des sentiments très bien décris et des passages vraiment hyper cute.
Pour moi ça n'a pas suffit, mais pour Bérengère et Julia, totalement : elles ont adoré !!!

Staring at Brett brings out the kid in Ellie, girl doesn't know where to look first, "standing there in nothing but a pair of shorts with a towel wrapped around his neck and sweat glistening against his biceps . . . against that tattoo . . . and down his abs . . . Ooooh boy. She didn’t even know where to look, so for some stupid reason she ended up staring at the middle of his chest." I liked this book there was sexual tension and at times just wanted to yell at these two to have sex already.

Great development. Characters are unique and interesting. The interaction is cute and the plot flows well. The internal conflict doesn't get lost in the action. Ellie and Brett pair up very nicely. It's a slow build but it's sweet and tasteful. Worth picking up if you want that feel-good love. Don't expect it to be too explicit.

Wow! Ellie had this love and hate relationship with cops even Brett. But once she got to know Brett better she liked him a lot. It was so fun to see them having some fun even though there was trouble in the background. I absolutely loved them together. So happy they found happiness in each other. ☺❤

Ellie's past experiences with cops have left her weary of them. It's just her luck that a cop resides among her group of friends--and he's the very one that's always stopping when for speeding.
Brett Hale is not looking forward to having Ellie in his safe-driving class. But Brett's the type of guy that does what needs to be done so he will endure the Ellie's attitude towards him if he has to. He has always noticed her, but now that circumstances have thrown them together, he can't seem to stop thinking about her. Especially when her ex comes back into the picture.
I loved this story! What made this such an enticing read for me were the characters. Ellie was hard-headed, sarcastic and fun to get to know. I especially enjoy watching how her defenses came down the more time she spent with Brett. How could she not?! He was protective, sweet and an all-around nice guy. I loved that I got to see Brett come out of his shell and stand by his beliefs. I admired his integrity but most especially his patience. Ellie did not make it easy on him--what with her not linking cops and fighting their connection every step of the way.
The way the author worked the concept helped too. I appreciated how she went about bringing these two reluctant individuals together in a way that felt real. Their interactions were sometimes amusing, sometimes serious and always entertaining. They shared great chemistry and an even greater connection.
One aspect of the story I enjoyed was that Brett and Ellie's connection was slow in building. Although the physical attraction was always there between these two, I liked the author took the time to develop their connection through their every interaction. The bickering, the subtle flirting and the candid moments they shared were what truly sold me on this relationship. I don't think I would have invested myself as much in this relationship if the connection wasn't viable. Like I said, it was slow in coming, but the journey was fun and worth the wait.
Keep in mind that although this is the third book in the Friends First series the book can be read as a standalone. I have not read the previous installments and it didn't affect my enjoyment of this story one bit. The author focused on Brett and Ellie's relationship but still gave enough backstory so that the reader could follow the story without missing a beat.
All in all, a very enjoyable read. A bit of romance, a dash of intrigue and a whole lot of fun.
Brett Hale is not looking forward to having Ellie in his safe-driving class. But Brett's the type of guy that does what needs to be done so he will endure the Ellie's attitude towards him if he has to. He has always noticed her, but now that circumstances have thrown them together, he can't seem to stop thinking about her. Especially when her ex comes back into the picture.
I loved this story! What made this such an enticing read for me were the characters. Ellie was hard-headed, sarcastic and fun to get to know. I especially enjoy watching how her defenses came down the more time she spent with Brett. How could she not?! He was protective, sweet and an all-around nice guy. I loved that I got to see Brett come out of his shell and stand by his beliefs. I admired his integrity but most especially his patience. Ellie did not make it easy on him--what with her not linking cops and fighting their connection every step of the way.
The way the author worked the concept helped too. I appreciated how she went about bringing these two reluctant individuals together in a way that felt real. Their interactions were sometimes amusing, sometimes serious and always entertaining. They shared great chemistry and an even greater connection.
One aspect of the story I enjoyed was that Brett and Ellie's connection was slow in building. Although the physical attraction was always there between these two, I liked the author took the time to develop their connection through their every interaction. The bickering, the subtle flirting and the candid moments they shared were what truly sold me on this relationship. I don't think I would have invested myself as much in this relationship if the connection wasn't viable. Like I said, it was slow in coming, but the journey was fun and worth the wait.
Keep in mind that although this is the third book in the Friends First series the book can be read as a standalone. I don't know how she does it, but Laura Drewry is able to get a great storyline and make it way better than we ever thought! This series is amazing and I don't know how she's gonna keep up with my expectation because, from where I stand, it can't get any better!
Ellie and Constable Hale (that's how I'm gonna call him because, let's face it, it sounds hot hot hot in my mind) are great together: their banter, their conversations, their looks towards one another... Everything is swoon worthy!
Ellie is a spitfire and I cannot deny that I love it because I see a lot of me in her... Or a lot of her in me... Anyways, she's funny, loyal, and the best friend ever

Constable Hale (ai ai...) is sweet, and despite having to constantly deal with Ellie, he's incredibly patient... I'd have bitch slaped Ellie in the second page of the book because she just can't keep her mouth shut! But that's ok, because it amuses him to no end.
"Accidentally in Love" is a great story with a bit o mystery in the background. A mystery that, I must add, had me biting my nails till dawn.
They fall in love with each other without realizing it... and we fall in love with them just as unintencionally!
I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Local good boy cop meets smart ass rule breaker in the next installment of the Friends First series. This was not only my first book from Drewry, it was also the first one I picked up from the series. I just really love starting them in the middle. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I'm really happy I read it.
Ellie just can't catch a break. She has a bit of a lead foot when it comes to driving, and when she's pulled over again, she realizes that her license has been suspended. This is the last thing that she needs - she needs her car. It doesn't help that the officer who pulled her over is part of her friend circle, even though to call the two of them friends would be a stretch.
Brett lives by the rules. As a cop, it's all he knows. He's pulled Ellie over more times than he can count and while he knows he's just doing his job, he just can't understand Ellie's animosity toward him. When circumstances throw them together for the foreseeable future, Brett starts to see a side of Ellie that she tries hard to keep hidden.
I am a sucker for stories where they couple were friends first. There's a foundation that's built up and you feel the connection between the two just grow. This was true for Ellie and Brett. Animosity turned into respect until neither of them knew what hit them. When someone from Ellie's past comes back and threatens the safety of herself and her friends, Brett steps up, placing himself directly in the line of attack. Their charade turned reality was a fun story to follow.
I would also like to say that I really thought I had this book pegged. The moment her past came back, I came up with this scenario that I thought for sure the author was going to. But nope, it went somewhere else and managed to completely avoid the over the top drama for the sake of drama that plagues so many in this genre.
This was a fun, light, read that's perfect for summer. I will definitely be going back and reading the others in this series as I am now interested in how they all got together.

Why did I want to read this book?
I’ve been following Laura’s Friends Friends series since I fell in love with Plain Jayne, which is the first book. I’ve come to really care for all these characters and of course, I can’t wait to read each of their stories.
What worked for me?
Laura Drewry is back in business. While I did enjoy her previous book, I felt that it lacked that spark I felt when I read Plain Jayne. But now I’m ecstatic to feel that spark again. Yes!
Ellie is so touch and spunky, independent and loyal. But she’s also wounded and guarded, especially around cops, who Brett happens to be, and this particular history is unraveled in the story. This adversarial set-up brings that essential friction and tension in the story and in the interactions between Ellie and Brett, I just ate it all up.
Brett was just amazing. He’s basically an all-around good guy. He might have a bit of a hero complex, he probably would love to save everyone if he could, but it comes from a pure and good place so you won’t hear any complaints from me. And while he gives his all to protect Ellie, I love that it isn’t because he doesn’t see her as someone capable of taking care of itself but simply because he’s the one incapable of not taking care of Ellie. *lol* I wished that made sense to you.
There’s this slow-burn romance, crackling chemistry, sensual pull, and entertaining conversations that I really loved about the story and of course the romance between Ellie and Brett. I also love the mystery/suspense part and how it didn’t overpower the romance but enhanced its development instead.
And lastly, I love that we got to see more of the ‘super friends’ (lol!), characters from the earlier books. I enjoyed reading about their friendship and camaraderie.
What did not work for me?
Nothing, really.
My over-all take on it?
I really, really enjoyed reading Ellie and Brett’s story. If you’re in the mood for a sort-of enemies-to-lovers story, done in a slow-burn fashion, then you definitely would want to read this one.

Accidentally in Love is the third book in the Friends First series but can be read as a stand alone. I had the opportunity to read Plain Jayne but did not get the chance to read Prima Donna (#2) before reading this one. It didn't impact my enjoyment at all but remembering all of the wonderful and quirky characters made me wish I had read it. I will definitely be going back and reading it.
Laura Drewry knows how to write contemporary romance and she knows how to write it well. She manages to keep things fresh, new and interesting in a genre that can sometimes be repetitive and predictable. Even though it may follow the same formula as others in this genre it doesn't feel like it because the story draws you in and the characters solidify it. The Friends First series is full of characters that you want to get to know and that you will fall in love with.
I absolutely adored Ellie and Brett and was in their corner the whole way. Ellie's quick mouth and what I liked to call her "terms of endearment" had me chuckling on a few occasions. I liked her strong, independent attitude even if it was hiding a more sensitive and emotional side. Brett was one of those characters that you can't help but love. His quiet and serious attitude mixed with his good manners, concern and overall nice guy image would be enough to win any girl over even if he didn't smile enough.Their personalities mixed like oil and water but the chemistry was undeniable and I loved every minute of their journey. It flowed nicely and the build up and anticipation was timed perfectly to maximise my enjoyment.
If you are a fan of contemporary romance you won't be disappointed with this one. It is above average as far as I'm concerned in the genre. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

Even though it is written in plain black letter, it didn’t come to me that it was a book following Plain Jayne after I read the first chapter… Duh…
When I finally realized it, I was so excited *dancing like a crazy girl* I really like the first installment of this series, didn’t read the second one, and I am on board for the third one… Don’t know if it is a smart move, but will see ;)
Such a page turner! Finish it in on day. I really like how tension/feelings develop in this book to explode at the very end. As the first book, it is sweet, funny and friendship has huge part. In a way it reminds me of the knitting in the city series.
I liked Brett in Plain Jayne, but loved him here. He is so protective, funny and I keep imagining him smile :)
Ellie is so strong and I love that Brett is the only one allowed to see her without her armor. So cute !!! She is painfully honest, and sassy, and most of all she despises cop (!).
The stalker issue is a good idea for this book, because it was the only way they would have to really spend time together and for her to realize that all the cops aren't like the ones she encountered before.
Such a great book!!! Doesn't need to read the previous ones to understand what's going on, but they are so great that it would be a shame to not read them. Reading this one made me want to read Prima Donna and obviously to read the one coming out in September How Forever Feels

Accidentally In Love

There is nothing better, to me anyway, than reading a book and realizing “hey” I recognize these characters. This was the third in a series, something that I did not realize at the beginning but as soon as I knew I had read one other, I settled myself in for a great read as I remembered how much I had liked the first one and now of course I needed to get the one in between too.
Ellie Palmer has a new life for herself after leaving ex-boyfriend Kurt. A new shop, a new house and new friends in a completely new city. The only thing marring her new life is the local cop Brett Hale keeps issuing her speeding tickets. So many so , in fact that her liscense gets suspended for three months and she needs to go to traffic school with guess who as the instructor.
Now because of difficulties with her ex Ellie does not really like the police force and is not receptive to Brett. To make matters worse her ex Kurt is back in town and his stalking her. Her only option is to get Brett to make sure she is safe.
Now a funny thing happens the more she is around Brett, she begins to see him as a person and not just a cop. And she really likes what she sees. But Brett is honest to the bone and he needs to keep his head on straight and concentrate on his job.
I really like this author's style. Ellie and Brett encompass the majority of the story but it is so much more, their group of friends is right there and we get caught up on all of them. Ellie's mom comes to visit and she provides a lot of humour, I could not stop laughing at some of her antics.
I would rate this story a 5/5. I believe this author to be a great storyteller and in my history at least she has written two amazing stories and I cant wait to read the one that I was missing.
