Not quite as fast paced as his last book, but still faster than most books, great to get to know and understand Luke Stone better, another not stop action thriller around the world, and Luke and Ed travel across countries to fight their unknown enemies.
A great action character, guaranteed action, pace and a gripping story.
I'm going to assume no prior knowledge? With the Luke's Stone books you know what you are going to receive. Luke will be in many action thrilled well written suspenseful situations. The whole government will be against Luke, while they are also dealing with internal issues. And Luke's wife will not understand him. A good action series with a few well written characters.
In an attempt to make the Russian president look like he was starting a war with the US, a traitor to his country orchestrates an attack on an arctic oil rig. Luke Stone and company are now racing against time and across continents to stop a bomb from destroying the article circle.
This one was on mark for me from beginning to end. Enjoyed the story line and where and what the team went through. I have slowly come to the conclusion that at least when I read this series it feels like a mini series for Call of Duty and could have easily been a spin off with some of the action sequences. Looking forward to the next book!
Primary Threat By Jack Mars Was Published on December 17th, 2019. This book Mainly book #3 Take the Genre of Action/Thriller. This book takes place in The remote arctic in an unknown time period. The main character fully focused on in this story is Luke Stone Who is 29 years old, an elite delta force veteran, and leads the FBI’s Special Response Team. This story starts with Luke Stone leading FBI’s Special response team Into a hostage situation on an oil rig in the remote arctic, This situation seeming to be a simple hostage situation turns out to be much more turning into a Russian master plan being executed actively in the arctic possibly being the cause to the next world war. The theme of this story has more of a Heroic feel to it by making Luke Stone seem like more of a hero. In my personal opinion I feel this is a great read and makes for a great story. The character number is kinda small but each character has a very distinct description and personality to them. Yet this descriptive part in the story for the characters does slow down the storyline a lot after a bunch of action you have this area where its slow and all about the characters i feel if the story kept a more action packed area instead of this slow area it would have been a little better read but overall i feel this story is a great read and even with the slow part it's incredibly enjoyable.
An oil rig in the Arctic is attacked and hostages held. The hostage takers want the world to know that the oil company is drilling under the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge which is illegal to say the least. However, there is more to this event than meets the eye as Luke and his team go in to rescue the hostages. When it comes out that Putin is the instigator and a nuclear bomb has been planted under the ice Luke, Ed and Murphy make a trip to Russia to find out more.
An edge of your seat read, as all of Jack Mars stories are!
Mars yet again hits the ball out of the stadium. I have read Zero series and Luke Stone series. This book kept me up late into the night. SPOILER: Struggles at home with Becca ensue after he slips out the house on a mission and gets caught on tape and Luke is televised. Suspension does not keep Stone down and he continues going on missions - each more dangerous than the previous one. Will his team disarm the largest nuclear bomb in the Arctic Circle in time?
I've always enjoyed everything that Jack Mars writes. This book began with intense drama and action, then slowed way down with mostly description of certain characters. The action towards the end was predictable and quick, as if the writer put himself on the same countdown as the story. The story was good, however it was drawn out in the middle for too long. Overall it was a necessary read for this series, and I look forward to enjoying his next book...
This one fell a bit flat. I’ve read each of the books in each series and overall have truly enjoyed each one. This one just felt off. Personally, I hated Becca in the first Luke Stone series and it is annoying to have to deal with her some more - that’s just my opinion. Will I read the next book in this series? Of course, it’s a great series. Everyone’s entitled to an off day.
Jack Mars writes a good thriller. It’s pretty outlandish but still a fun read. Lots of totally impossible scenes in this book. But I like his Luke Stone, Ed Newsome and supporting cast of characters. Intrigue, action, some suspense and they solve things in the end. Recommend this book and the series.
I always appreciate following a character through a series. Jack Mars never disappoints with the Luke stone character. The story lines aren’t that different, but somehow Jack Mars manages to keep them fresh enough for me to keep coming back. Next up, book 4 in the prequel series.
Jack Mars is an author extraordinaire. This series hard to put down. He makes the characters stand out as pillars of right. The action rarely stops and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I look forward to each new book.
The Luke Stone series have been a great read. In this one the Russians have put the largest nuclear device ever created under the Arctic ice. This will have catastrophic consequences for the entire world!
Fabulous read; exciting, gripping and perfectly written. I love all of Jack Mars books; have read almost all of them. I hope he’ll read my son’s book, “False Assurances,” which he is self publishing as a Kindle book in March. James Patterson loved it!!! Thanks
Read the first two books and enjoyed them. 8 per cent into this one it turns out the President hates oil and gas and that America is a racist, non caring country. Ill pass on the rest. Good author. Tired of the liberal claptrap
I like this book, a lot. I like the characters. I like the story and it reads quickly. One that I do wish was included in the series would be map pictures to get an idea, geographically, where they are.
Mr. Mars' plot is quite interesting and impressive. It has all the favourite characters and ingredients including the dexedrine, to make it an enjoyable read. Non stop action.
Really good like the others…maybe a little far fetched, no way was there time enough to do all they needed to do to diffuse the bomb under the ice. But really glad they did and everyone survived…
