The Bride Spoke to Horses is an installment of the Sweetwater Creek series penned by Susannah Calloway. In it she chronicles the romantic journey of Gunner Kirk , a rancher, and Cara Warring, a young white woman raised by the Ouapaw Indians of Oklahoma. She is uprooted and returned to the white settlers of Sweetwater Creek by an old trapper, Kevin Harding. With no living relatives, she is left in the care of the town’s mayor and his wife. They place her in a widow’s home that doesn’t work out. Then she works for another family and that doesn’t work out as well. After arriving in Sweetwater, she met Gunner. He is attracted to her but is torn as he is expecting a mail-order bride. At each obstacle that Cara faces, Destiny continues to bring her into Gunner’s orbit. Soon, they are in love. What will happen when the mail-order bride arrives? Can Gunner undo this? Will he and Cara find happiness? To find out, you must read this book.
In this endearing and entertaining romance, Ms. Calloway does it again. She masterfully uses literary devices like dialog, dual POV, and descriptive language to move her plot line along at a well paced speed. The characters are likeable. The dual POV allows readers to get a better understanding of the characters. The support of the secondary characters, like Anson Holt and his wife, create a , strong, supportive, and close family atmosphere.

Sweetwater Brides Romance
I am a reader of every Mail Order Bride Romance I can find. Susannah Calloway writes some nice stories. In this story a young woman is brought to Sweetwater after being rescued from the Indian's who raised her. She is at a loss among the town residents The story begins here. Enjoy, I sure did!!!!!!!!

The bride spoke to horses by Susannah Calloway was a pleasant surprise story. I was very pleased with this book. It was very heartfelt with just enough hardship and love. It is a must good feel story.

Great series............
I enjoyed this story from the series, Sweetwater Brides, the author put the heroine of the story in a lonely and helpless position, I'm sure that she will help her out. The story is thoughtfully written.
