It was my second book by the author and like the first one, i loved it too. The title of the book is enough to pick up this amazing piece. The way he writes is really amazing. Book is full of emotions. Author knows how to play with words and how to go around spiraling stories. ❤

When you will pick up this book it will be very tough to put it down. It was a short as well as amazing red for me. The story of Dr. Kalam has been written as some body else narrating it. ❤

Language is very easy. Characters are very well explained. It was short but worth for reading. ❤

I'm a huge fan of J. Alchem and I had to read this book even though non-fiction is not really my genre and as expected, I loved this book as much as I have loved the other works by the author. The story was so short, sweet and simple. I am a fan of Alchem's writing style and his narration, the way he shapes his words to tell a story has the reader turning pages.

I absolutely loved the first story about when the former president of India was unwell and the entire nation was praying for their well-being. And I really liked how the author connected all the stories to paint a larger picture, everything fit so well. Definitely worth a read!

Small but great read 💯

Kalam: Kuch Ulte Panne

Who don't know kalam and his book. This book is something more than just a book for me. Everything is so simple in this book. The cover is simple with kalam and a small kid. Because kalam sir always love to spend time with kids.

This book is quite like journey or biography of kamal sir the great creature of india. Basically this book holds the untold stories from his life. Kudos to author for putting such a great stories in single story.

The narration is too good. It keep you hooked up till the end of book. And leave you with lots of emotions.

Overall a small , light read with some motivation.

What I absolutely love about this author is how is goes around spiraling stories in one. He starts of with something beautiful and then gets you back to the main story and then again back to the other. It just makes you want to read even more. I was really amazed at this short read. The book is poignant and mellifluous. There is just something about how the author puts up his words. I didn't really like the cover much at first but after reading it I really liked and could connect much better. The story about Dr. Kalam has been written as somebody else narrating it. I really liked the vulnerability what one feels and the connection one feels to somebody who isn't related.

The title and cover is enough to go through the book as the missile man is the man who has no haters in this country. Everyone respect him and he inspires everyone.
I have read other books of the author and no doubt he is a good writer, he strats story with a situation, come back to another situations and then travels to third and finally connects all in an interesting way.
He had written the perfect book if you see the story and emotion whcih he had conveyed in his story.
Languages was quite low, as there were hinglish words used and many errors like spelling mistakes.
The most emotional touch of the book is here

This was my 2nd book from the author and again he didn't failed to impress me. This book was in Hindi and I rarely read Hindi books, but something attract me towards it and I'm glad i read it. I want you guys to read this as this story is something that you haven't heard before. When I started this book I was wondering that what he meant by "Ulte Panne". What does it mean? What is he trying to say? But after finishing this book, I realised that it all make sense now. Language is so easy, kind of "bolchal wali hindi." Ending was something that I didn't expect at all. Ending made me sad little.

Just finished reading this short yet not-so-light read. Let me first tell you that I'm very happy to finally read a Hindi book after school. I realised how much I miss those days when Hindi used to be a compulsory subject up to class x and how I used to savour the stories and the poems.
This book is a compilation of some small yet memorable events of Dr Abdul Kalam 's life narrated by a newspaper selling teenage boy named Babu in the form of a story. I loved Baby's character..
The second half was gloomy yet beautiful! The writing is lucid, simple and engaging, as well as captivating throughout. Also it is a short read with good pace..so it can be a perfect companion for those tedious and mundane bus and train rides, or when you need a break from your busy work schedule, or when you're looking for some positivity.
The story gives us an insight into Kalam Sir's simple lifestyle and personality which we cannot help but admire and draw inspiration from. The last chapter has a major unexpected plot twist. I don't want to say much, just grab it, and read it.. it will leave you with both a heavy as well as happy heart..
The author has done a great job in grabbing the attention of the reader and maintaining it throughout. I'm very happy to come across this beautiful pieces of art!
Recommended to everyone.

Not what I was expecting

Kalam Kuch Ulte Panne is a reverse biography where the author has imagined a few incidents which might or might not have occured in the life of APJ Abdul Kalam and told them in his own words. It is the fictional take on the life of APJ Abdul Kalam.

Among all the stories I liked the first one where Kalam Sahab had been shown in a hospital on the deathbed and the whole nation was praying for him. The way the author has played with words in this story was incredible and amazing. He bamboozled me into thinking something and something else happened.

Rest of the stories were not so interesting.

But my major remorse is that there is no major takeaway from this book. When you pick up a book on APJ Abdul Kalam, you expect to learn something about this great leader, his vision and dreams, his wisdom and experience, his qualities and key skills. It is not a thought provoking book about the most thoughtful person our century has witnessed. I was expecting the book to be inspiring and insightful.

The author missed a golden chance to write an inspirational fiction on APJ Abdul Kalam. There are so many interesting anecdotes and stories about Kalam Sahab which the author could have presented in the book in the fictional format giving away important messages and making it worth a read.

“Kalam: Kuch Ulte Panne” - I am not sure if the readers or the author is going to like it, but the truth is that I picked this book by mistake. I liked the title and as many times I do, I did not not notice that it’s a Hindi book!
But all is well that ends well - I was glad that the lines were not the typical ones we used them dread and had to pronounce carefully!
Coming to the story line, it’s not something readers would expect but they are going to enjoy every bit of it. The description about respected former president Dr. Abdul Kalam kept me smiling and nodding all the time. It had a unique mystery around the lines which kept me hooked.

There were some errors in the “matras” and grammar which I was so relieved that the author gradually thought upon and conveyed that he would get them corrected. Now, I did not intend to keep this section, but guys, this paragraph is only here because I truly liked the attitude Mr. Alchem has displayed. Kudos to you dear. I am sure the readers are going to get many more wonderful stories.

Luckily, I picked up the book even if it was by chance, It was a thoughtful and story reminded me of old stories I used to read in Hindi newspapers during my school days. It was a one time read, but a very thoughtful and good one.

This would be my third book from the author’s work that I am reading and by now I can truly say that the author never stops to amaze me with his story telling skills. This is a medium that I am not used to because the book is in Hindi and I had to brace myself to get used to the change in medium of language.

The book has a poetic quality in its narration which I thought was brilliant as it exhibited the same skill that I saw in author’s previous works. So you have to give kudos to the author for handling the quality of language with such ease

I loved the work and what the book had to offer. The book hardly takes any time to finish (although my review definitely did :p ) and moreover it absorbs you so quick that you would find yourself immersed in it in no time. These are enough reasons to go and grab the book today itself

⚫️ This is my I think third or fourth read by J. Alchem author and I liked all of his book.
⚫️ The book is short so I will keep my reviews short.
⚫️ As the name suggests book is based on our former president Dr. Kalam.
⚫️ I know about him many information so before reading this I thought it will be somewhat same. But to my surprise, it was completely different.
⚫️ That has unrevealed many aspects that was unknown to people.
⚫️ Written so beautifully. Nice word play.
While reading, I felt like reading a wonderful poetry.
⚫️ Holds your attention till the end.
⚫️ Each line makes you want to read more and more of it.
⚫️ Overall I loved it. Worth reading.

J Alchem is just an amazing author. I seriously love reading his works. Loved it about APJ Kalam. An inspiration for all of us, especially for my generation.
The author has written the book with perfect characterization and stories (2 interconnected).
The writing style is beautiful as I've expected that.
The narrative style is also good and same goes for the language used in it.
By adding little fiction into it, the author has achieved the perfect essence of creativity with his work.
I'm in love with this book.
Recommending it to everyone.
Kudos to the author. Keep on writing and shining.

I rarely read books in hindi. But, I found this book exceptional from my point of view and choose to read. Firstly, as it makes connection with the missile man - Kalam. Secondly, how can I not read after being a huge fan of J. Alchem, on reading 'Undelivered Letters' and 'I am a home to butterflies' ?
Though a short read but frankly speaking, the book has a different beauty in it. The narration is smooth yet gripping. Beautiful start and the flow continues till readers are allured. A must read, in simple words.

Tittle itself is enough to attract the readers.the name that always inspired millions. The description of A.P.J Abdul Kalam in this book is decorated with some beautiful words and sentences.
And I also appreciate the part which goes backwards in A.P.J Abdul Kalam's life.
This book perfectly represented the warm nature and simplicity of people's president.

Simple cover.

Short read.

Interesting and attractive title.

Concise blurb.

Lucid language.

Good narration.

One will feel connected throughout the stories.

Some of the thoughts by Kalam could have been implemented in a better fashion.

There are certain points which are abrupt.

Overall it’s a good read.

I really enjoyed reading this short story, somewhere, this book has such a nostalgic feeling to it. It's a tribute to one of the greatest man that has ever lived, to our very own President, Late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and I thought the author did a wonderful job in bringing out the simplicity and ingenuity of his persona through this short story.

I also, want to bring attention to the fact, that this book is written in Hindi and as someone who last read any Hindi story way back when I was in school, this book was a breath of fresh air. I can't very well critic on the writing style and use of language but I felt it to be honest and subtle. A few things felt a little repetitive but other than that, this was inspirational and fantastic!

Firstly I would say this is my first hindi read. I am a fan of this authors writing but this book was not uptil my expectations. The story was good but not that interesting I have absolutely loved his other write ups. The end is something that I was not expecting till it came. There were some writing errors too in the book. But his way of narrating the story is amazing as always. 3.5 🌟for me

Kalam kuch ulte panne by J alchem is a Hindi short read.

This is my second read from the Author.

It's semi autobiographical

It's tells a story about when author was in a northeastern state and stayed in a home, his fancy towards a newspaper distributing boy rose and on one meet with him how he came across his interests for stories and reading and what followed next was his narration related to kalam but what was that, you need to read the book to find out.

I really loved the simplicity of the story and how easily author has kept the reader hooked while being successful in evoking emotions.

I'm not much acquainted with Hindi books but this was a short and enjoyable read for me.

The hindi language was fine but so many times there was a usage of Hinglish words which were constricting the reading flow.

I would rate it 4 because of the language errors otherwise it was just perfect 🙅🏻

Kalam Kuch Ulte Panne by J. Alchem shares with us the unheard stories of Dr. Kalam, the luminous star in people's hearts.

Kalam Sir, has been the greatest president that we've had so far (in my opinion, along with many others), he has not only been the epitome of kindness and greatness but also has proved to be an immortal inspiration for millions of people all over the world.

Mr. Alchem here by writing this wonderful book has delightfully added a feather in his cap.

This fictional tale about Kalam sir's life is beautifully written with incredible word playing and delectable language.

I really liked the way the book started, it had something in it which just captured me as a reader, it kept me hooked throughout.

The title of the story is appropriate and the cover is minimalistic and holds good for the story.

Overall, it was one feast of a book! Do check this untold story of the great achiever!

My Rating:- 🌟🌟🌟🌟/ 5

J Alchem ventures into Hindi Sahitya!

Story: As I have mentioned in my previous reviews, Alchem is a gifted story teller. He is able to draw up engaging plotlines and then paint them in a way that you can visualise the story happening in front of your eyes. A tribute to Shri Abdul Kalam ji as well as a nod to bidding Kalams of the future, Alchem has come with a very new tool of looking at the story we already know, which gives it a very fresh perspective and builds a suspense which is hard to build when writing about famous personalities. We travel backwards in time which turns the whole paradigm of perceived reality on its head. But why does it deserve only two stars you might ask? Well.....spoiler alert. Spoiler isn't related to the plot or the story though.

Elephant in the room: Alchem is a very promising up and coming writer who's command of English language and ability to string the words to deliver his unique stories with a strong impact is extraordinary. But unfortunately, he is unable to transfer his English skills to his Hindi endeavour. My formal Hindi education is upto 8th grade, which was 13 years ago. Yet I was unable to ignore the glaring spelling and grammatical mistakes in almost each and every page. Grammatical structure is very broken, as if it was written in English and then translated into a draft and then the draft was published. Having starting to question my own Hindi skills, I started consulting my native Hindi speaking friends who themselves couldn't believe that this was from a published book. We had quite a laugh so that's a positive this book gave me. In some instances same words have different spellings at the interval of a few pages and sometimes a few sentences. A lot of sounds are missing which change the meaning of the whole word, prompting me to reread the whole sentence. Missing punctuations in some sentences impart a high degree of vagueness requiring a reread of the sentence and the application of reader's experience to guess where a conjunction should have been used. Grammatical continuity is very poor. Lack of vocabulary reflects throughout this short novel as similar meaning words are used to cover up for the forgotten precise word that could have delivered better impact. While some really heavy Hindi words and translations are used at places, direct transliteration has been rampantly employed throughout, which can be seen as an expression of modern composite dialect. I understand that it is really tricky to be able to write in a language that one isn't used to, but undertaking such a project by a high calibre writer warrants high expectations. Unfortunately, even standard expectations of writing weren't met.

Verdict: I appreciate the patriotic fervor that encouraged Mr. Alchem to Hindi literature and I hope he doesn't give up on this project. We do need good quality writers in Hindi literature as we reinvent our Identity in this modern world. But it is a slow process and magical results can't be expected overnight. I hope Mr. Alchem takes this up as a challenge, just like a certain Mr. Kalidas once did, work on his language and structure, and is able to use simple yet broad Hindi vocabulary in a coherent manner to tell us his intriguing stories.

Book Name - Kalam: Kuch Ulte Panne (Hindi Edition)
Writer - J Alchem
Edition - Kindle

Summary -: This book tells us the story of a newspaper hawker named Babu & a boy names Ajay. Babu is a young boy who loves reading books and articles specially related to Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam. Dr. Kalam is a insipiration for him. He visit Ajay's home every month to collect newspaper bill & Ajay also see his younger brother in babu. He wanted to share his time with him as he never had any Younger brother. One day babu tells the story of Dr. Kalam to Ajay, which connected both of them.

Things I liked -
1. The book is a work of originality, everything in this book is inspiring & something very heart touching too. The affection between babu & Ajay is beautifully written & also the love of Dr. Kalam for babu is inspiring. It shows how anyone can inspire from our our late president Dr. Kalam

2. The second thing is the book language it's written in a way that anyone can easily read and understand it and also it's totally made for those too who don't read Hindi books.

3. The last thing I loved the most are the characters. If you're a follower of Dr. Kalam them you are going to love the characters of this book. The character of babu itself is inspired from Dr. Kalam real life, which made the book more interesting.

Things I Didn't like -:
1. The only thing I didn't like in the book is that sometimes I feeled that the author tried to make the story long by adding many unnecessary lines buy it's just my thinking and I'm sharing it.

Verdict -: I'll say one thing read this you won't regret it.

Rating -: 4.5 🌟

Author J. Alchem has given us a book that will hopefully place a gentle but firm hand on the shoulder of every writer. Here are short essays offering advice, writing life insight and encouragement to anyone wishing to master the art of storytelling. Alchems's book is a reminder that good writing consists of more than sleeping with the dictionary. It requires a major commitment to the love of language.

J. Alchem here provides—as his title promises—'Kalam on the art and craft of storytelling.' It’s a welcome addition to the small shelf of useful books on the way of the writer. Here the writer links the personal with the professional in ways that both inspire and instruct. Use this book to deepen your familiarity with the work of a distinguished author, to understand how serious practitioners address their art and to improve your own. Those of us who put pen to paper for a living have known of J. Alchem for since few years. He is one of India’s greatest literary treasures. He is a skilled wordsmith, superb philosopher, master of understatement, and deeply talented novelist. Here he graciously opens up the treasure chest of writing secrets and philosophy for those of us who seek to kneel at the tree of learning, told by a man who has kissed the black stone of literary excellence.
If you're looking to learn to tell stories in written form, look no further. This book is as accessible as it is profound, lively, practical, and full of earned wisdom. There are plenty of books available out there, but this is the only one I know of that is--and I don't think I'm exaggerating--indispensable.

Title - Kalam Kuch Ulte Panne (the book is in Hindi)

Author - J. Alchem

Genre - Biography

🌟 : 4/5

My review :-

Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam is truly one of the most inspirational humans ever. Writing about him and exploring all the crests and troughs of his life in a few pages is just hard. However, the author has not disappointed me at all on a lot of fronts. He hasn't failed to capture so many of his sides and simplicity in this book. That's what I really like. It is a short read and definitely very interesting. The fact that its in Hindi makes me feel really good. It basically contains numerous short anecdotes from the life of the Missile Man of India. Definitely recommended for everyone who's keen on knowing just a tad bit more about Dr. Kalam since he's already very well known. The writing is simple yet on point. No fake drama has been included to spice up the stories. Good narration and perfect Grammar. The cover and title are very interesting, bound to draw a lot of readers. We had chapters on Dr. Kalam in Hindi and this book being about him and better yet, in Hindi has really made me so nostalgic. Hence, I've a special connection with this book. It ignites a fire for the want of doing something for the nation. Really inspiring and motivating for people from all walks of life.
