New release today and on sale for 99 cents! 02/01/2019

There are two things event planner Geo Polson will not do. She never plans weddings, and she never ever dates. No exceptions.

Billionaire venture capitalist Trig Thornton doesn't worry about rules. After all, you don't finish first by staying in your lane. But when his best friend forces him to help plan a bachelor party, he doesn't expect the wedding planner to catch his interest.

Geo's already broken one cardinal rule at the behest of her bestie. There's no way she's going to so much as bend another. But Trig isn't easily dissuaded, and he's set his sights on her. Will he heal Geo's wounded heart, or shatter it to pieces?

Finding Cupid is a fun Valentines read. I read the first book in this series, Finding Santa at Christmas time and loved it, so I was looking forward to reading this one. Overall I liked this and had a hard time putting it down, although I did not like it as much as Finding Santa.

Obviously this is a romance, and I don't usually read romances unless they are historical, but Bridget Baker is an author I'll make a exception for because I enjoy her novels so much. There were several things about this book that I loved. I loved how cute Geo and Trig were together, I loved how the author inserted herself into the book at one point (Geo is reading a book and talks about the author, who happens to resemble this one an awful lot). I loved that the book incorporated several different locations. I loved that we got to revisit Mary, Luke, and other characters from Finding Santa. And I loved how everyone in the book thought Mary was weird for her love of doing taxes, which I thought too when I read that book.

As for the characters, I liked the main character Geo a lot, but Trig had to grow on me. Luckily it didn't take too long for that to happen, but I didn't like the way he manipulated her into going skiing, even if she did end up enjoying it. Also his lack of awareness of how his whims could inconvenience other people put me off a little as well. At first he just seemed like one of those rich guys who thinks he can have whatever he wants when he wants it, but in the end his heart was in the right place and I ended up liking him quite a lot.

The same tropes used in most romance novels were used in this one, but I thought they were done well, and the reservations the couple had about falling in love made sense considering their backgrounds. I think the supporting characters are all great, especially Paisley, who I'm expecting will get her own book eventually. I'm enjoying this series, and I'm looking forward to reading the next book. If you like clean contemporary romance then you should give this series a try.

Thanks to the author for providing me with an ARC of this book.

Romance, clean; series but stand alone read
Trig and Geo's story was another fun escape and part of this series. Trig's confident, brash exterior is hit with a reality check when Geo doesn't want anything to do with him. Both of their falls, gradual, and fraught with a bit of drama and angst made for a fun read. My favorite kind of escape read, two genuine honest hearts, one hurting and one wanting to help and heal. Some lovely moments, and the fact the Geo sees Trig for himself and not for his money made it all the more genuine and honest. Some lovely characters, getting to see the main characters and some side characters from other novels was a plus for me. Fun, light romance.

WHAT IT'S ABOUT
Opposites may attract, but can they stand each other once they do?

There are two things event planner Geo Polson will not do. She won't plan weddings, and she will not date. No exceptions.

Billionaire venture capitalist Trig Thornton doesn't live by hard and fast rules. After all, you don't finish first by staying in your lane. But when his best friend forces him to help plan a bachelor party, he doesn't expect to be smitten by the feisty wedding planner.

Geo's already broken one cardinal rule at the behest of her bestie. There's no way she's going to so much as bend another. But Trig isn't easily dissuaded, and he's made it his business to help Geo relax and have some fun. Will he heal Geo's wounded heart, or are her rules the only thing keeping her safe?

MY TAKE
I love Baker's romances so much. I've read the 1st and the 4th books in the series. I saw a lot of Trig in his sister's love story, but I didn't really know him yet--and I didn't like him very much. Now that I do know him and understand him better, I'm looking forward to revisiting that book. Because I LOVE Trig now!

Yes, this is a story of insta-love. But, you know what? My parents were like Geo's parents--not quite that quick but dang close. It does happen sometimes.

And sweet Geo. She's been through and still going through so much between losing both her fiancé and her dad and then her mother's Alzheimer's. Ugh. I love that one of the most important people to Trig (his sister) loved Geo immediately too.

Can't wait to listen to the next book, Finding Spring, which is also available in audiobook now.

I listened to the audiobook of this one and the narrators did a great job!

A sparkling gem in the sea of billionaire romances
5 stars overall, 5 stars story, 5 stars narration

I am absolutely delighted with this fun and flirty contemporary romance. It might be termed a rom-com as well, but for me it had a few too many serious scenes to be a rom-com. The sexual tension and toe-curling kissing was hot, but it was surprisingly a ‘clean' romance. The character development and the ending was so satisfying that I was surprised to realize that the main characters didn’t make love. The pair certainly wanted to consummate their relationship, but circumstances arose that reasonably prevented it. This is my favorite billionaire or millionaire romance. I loved every minute of it!

Geode (the event-planner heroine from Atlanta) and Trig (the billionaire with a heart of gold) developed such a deep emotional connection during their whirlwind romance. Trig was such a good guy who is extremely intelligent, tall, handsome, successful, and a good brother. While it is unrealistic that this dream guy could exist, he is a fantastic hero for Geode, and I cheered them on. Geode had gone through a lot of bad things in the past four years, and she richly deserved something good. There were serious parts (such as a parent with Alzheimer’s), but everything got better and there was a happy ending.

This highly enjoyable audiobook was further enhanced by the flawless dual narration of Connor Crais and Jennifer Jill Araya. They brought the vivacious characters to life, including some very memorable minor characters. Both narrators were very talented at both men’s and women’s voices, and they matched the accents perfectly in their alternating chapters. Connor Crais has a gorgeously sexy voice for the hero. I am definitely listening to the rest of the series.

I requested and received a free audiocode from the author via AudioBookfly, and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

Trig & Geo were loveable characters and they were cute together but for two people with deep wounds and serious trauma things happened too fast between them. They both had varying views on marriage due to things that happened in their past, so for all their resolves to come crumbling just because they were physically attracted to each other, didn’t make much sense to me.

I know people handle trauma differently but with Geo vehemently being opposed to planning weddings, I expected her reason to be more…just ‘more’. Also the ending kinda dragged because Trig & Geo took longer to make up than they did to “fall in love”. I did enjoy the overall plot and love story.

Content: Clean, Kissing, Mild innuendo.

Such a heart-wrenching, touching love story. I just adored these two characters together. Geo and Trig are the perfect couple, each coming into the relationship with such baggage, it’s hard to see how they can ever work things out. I love the twists in the story, which I won’t reveal, because I hate it when reviews do that!

Once again, the parents play such a role in the shaping of their kids. Some parents don’t even realize the damage they can do by the choices they make. I really loved the way the mothers are portrayed with similarities but only because of circumstances beyond her control.

Such a great story! I look forward to reading the next book in this series. I highly recommend this book and series to lovers of a great happily ever after.

Enjoyable

A new author, for me. I really enjoyed her style. The story flows really well, the characters are interesting and engaging. I really like intelligent, competent and intense characters and interactions. This book had it all, with a good ending. Looking forward to more of her work, if this is anything to go by.

This is a cute series. It goes fast, the characters are likable. It's just a wholesome love story. I think I like this one better than the first, which is odd, usually the second story is the worst one. There IS a formula to these novels, and while so far it's not a bother at all, it likely will get old as there are 6 in the series. But I'm in and can't wait to finish the next one, which I already started before I had the chance to write this review.

Great romance, but I want more of their story at the end...I wasn't ready for the book to end! Very sweet and innocent love story, but I'm hoping we get a glimpse into their future with the next book or books! And, the hopeless romantic in me wants some romance for Paisley and Brekka now! LOL.

While I liked the first book I liked this one quite a bit more. I have loved many books by this author. Especially her birthright series. One thing I haven’t been a fan of is a few of her characters always dealing on one issue they can’t let go off. This was an issue slightly for both of these characters but not as much. I really enjoyed both of these characters and the side characters as well. It left me wanting to know more of their stories. It was a little surprising that Geode and Trig fell so hard so fast given there circumstances it it was a sweet read. I’m looking forward to the next in the series.

I’m starting to get the feel of how Ms. Baker writes. Im interested in the story, I feel somewhat invested but towards the middle/end I feel like emotions and situations get glossed over. I want the depth and to feel the feels, but I haven’t in this book or the previous one. But nevertheless I’ll finish the series. Trig and Geo were good together, I just needed more depth and build up from them. All the character/couples really. Overall this series has a great start, but there room for growth. Give me the FEELS!!!

Finding Cupid by Bridget E Baker

This is book 2 in the Almost Billionaire series written by amazing author Bridget E Baker. All of her books in this series can be read as a standalone but if you have read book 1 Finding Faith or as some refer to it Finding Santa you will realize some of the characters overlapped. As with all great series that is something that I expect to happen so when Mary and Luke from book 1 are ready to get married they need an amazing wedding planner to do so and who would be better to do this but Geo (Geode), Paisleys’s best friend who is a fabulous event planner. Paisley is also the assistant to Mary and helps her run her charity Sub for Santa.

This book is the story of Geo who never ever plans weddings out of principle and Trig the Billionaire who is going to be the best man. Geo is a lovely young self-made woman who has experienced heartache in life and has sworn off from ever dating. She comes from a family that has lived their life knowing love is the most precious thing you can own and they have experienced their love with each other. To see Geo swearing off love is a hard pill to swallow. But Geo starts out by going against the principle of not planning weddings to help out Mary and Luke as a favor to her best friend. She is starting to enjoy planning the wedding and we learn more about her by doing the thing she absolutely told herself would never happen in life.
Trig, or Bernard Thornton the third, is the total opposite of sweet Geo. He is a billionaire with a trust fund that he could never empty and he sure tries with all of his crazy adventures. But he becomes smitten with Geo when he is forced to plan the Bachelor party with her help because according to Trig ordering plates is below him. Trig makes it hard to like him in some places because he plays the role of entitled prick beautifully. But eventually he realizes he has a heart and lets it show.

Will these two people that are such opposite be able to go past the initial attraction? A loving girl and a rich obnoxious boy are the typical stereotype of any good romance but Bridget E Baker brings this to a whole new level. Her writing is entertaining, it captures you and makes you forget your chores because you won’t be able to put it down. There are times when I just wanted to yell at the characters, then again, I wanted to embrace them. Other times the tears that rolled down their cheeks rolled down mine as well. Bridget has the uncanny ability to keep you at the edge of your seat and then relax you and bring your heartbeat down again. I am so grateful to have found such an amazing author and I am hungry for more of her books. Her writing is a clean romance with a happy ending that will make your day. If you have not started on this series it is high time to get your copy of the Almost Billionaire series.

Geo is a knockout beauty who has survived an immeasurable lose. She’s locked her heart up and never wants to experience that kind of pain ever again. Not long after losing her first love her dad dies and leaves her to look after her last declining parent. Geo is well accomplished and runs her own business but with the bills of caring for an ailing parent are continuously building. Geo takes a job to plan a wedding. Something she has sworn off ever doing again. She needs to have control of her life because Geo feels that it all spiralled out of control and she was powerless and that is when life hurt her the most. Strong willed stubborn and beautiful all describe Geo but deep down beneath all her outer beauty she has the most beautiful heart just waiting to be loved again. Trig is a billionaire daredevil who never wants to settle down. His parents marriage was so damaging to him that he can never see himself settling down.
Cupid has other ideas for these two wonderful people! Oh it’s not an easy journey but it’s well worth it to make it to the end together!

This is the third book in this series that I have read/listened to. I knew about Geo and Trig's story from book 4 (I read them out of order) and it was great to put the pieces together about how they met and fell in love.

Geo is an event planner and she NEVER does weddings. When she is in need of some cash and a billionaire and his fiance' offer her $100,000 to plan their wedding, she gives in and agrees. When she meets the best man, Trig, life changes entirely for her. He is kind of playboy, never settling down with anyone until Geo knocks him flat. He is completely bowled over by her and nothing will do until she is his. Can Geo overcome the tragedy she has already faced in her life and look toward the future with happiness or will she give up the best thing that has ever happened to her?

I listened to this audiobook and I loved the story. I really like the narration of the story, also, and I willingly offer my honest review. If you want a fun, flirty, whirlwind romance with a happy ending, this book will satisfy that for you.

This one was considerably better than the first book. Part of it may have been due to the dual narration this time on audio. Connor Crais and Jennifer Jill Araya were both excellent, and it’s fun listening to some of Connor’s earlier stuff.

There were also more instances of kissing and mentions of sleeping together, though the act itself didn’t occur.

I do find it cringey when authors insert themselves into a story, so when Geo mentioned an “awesome lady” she got an ARC from, and the author’s description matched B. E. Baker’s bio, I groaned.

I also didn’t like that Trig would introduce Geo as his girlfriend to everyone without actually talking to her about it first. And the proposal came out of nowhere after mere days. I’m morally opposed to prenups, so I get Geo’s reaction, but this whole blowup between them just showed that they were in no position to get married right now.

But I like how this one introduced other characters for the future books, and I’m interested to read Paul’s and Brekka’s stories.

I really enjoyed this book! Jennifer Jill Arraya and Connor Crais narrate. Having the Duel narrations made this book so wonderful. It was great to get both Geo's and Trig's point of view. Geo has had some heartbreak in the past with a previous relationship and is hesitant to let her heart love again. Geo is an event planner and doesn't like to plan weddings. However she needs money , and she can't turn down planning a wedding for a ton of money. She is then connected with the best man of the wedding Trig, who is a billionaire, and there is an instant connection. Jennifer Jill Arraya and Connor Crais do a fabulous job bringing this story to life. Connor Crais voice is so deep and appealing. I love both narrator's Australian accents! I am looking forward to more books in this series. It just the right touch of love for a clean romance.

I was discussing this book with the author a few weeks ago and she told me this is usually not in the top 3 favourites of the series and I think, if this is true, that is not because of the story, which is super cute and also sad at times (every book in the series has very deep themes being faced in the background to the love story). This, among the other books in the series is probably one of the easiest reads. The characters are an event planner and a rich guy which is a very common setting in many many romance novel and this may be the reason why avid readers may consider the plot a bit predictable. I loved it nevertheless. The love story is sweet and it has real themes and special characters that make it unique. The brilliant job here is how every book is linked to the others, despite they could be read individually, and this is absolutely a key book for the series readers.

Geo and Trig's Love Tryst! 3.7***** Spoiler Alert

Geode Polson, event planner extraordinarie/ broken hearted lover/ debt strapped, agreed to plan Mary and Luke's wedding and bachelor/bachelorette parties for $150,000 to help pay for her Mom's experimental clinical Alzheimer trials and as a favor to her college bestie, Paisley. As she worked with Trig/Bernie Thornton 3rd, wealthy, trust-fund, unhappy childhood, Lucas' best man; he slowly broke down her ' no dating' policy since her fiancee 's IED - related death, by putting fun, smiles, and some risky activity back into her life. Yes he proposed and she accepted a future HEA.

Interesting characters, witty banter, in a novel, whose theme emphasised that money does not bring one happiness. A Good RomCom Read!

*This book was provided to me for an honest review*

This is a clean romance - no steamy scenes. This is the fourth book that I’ve read/listened to in this series, slightly out of order. A common theme is quick romances. We’re talking a week to 3ish months. I really enjoyed the characters in this one, however, there were aspects of the relationship that I wish were explored more. With such a quick romance, I was left wanting more which made it *start* to seem unbelievable.

The characters were well thought out and intriguing. This is the second book in the series, but I didn’t find it necessary to have read the prior book to understand this one. Each couple’s stories are carried over to the following books to some extent, but I just want more.

Geode Polson has a lot on her hands, and a lot of sadness in her background. She is a wonderful event planner, but she doesn't do weddings-until her best friend ropes her into one. But the outrageous price attached will afford her enough funds to make an important decision, So against her better judgement, she says yes. Besides the actual planning and myriad of decisions to make, there's the best man, Trig. Trig the billionaire with so many strings...

Fun to watch Geo and Trig spar verbally, and fight their attraction. So many good characters involved, as well as various locations and cars that never let you forget about Trig's wealth, even though he is easy going and unassuming.

Enjoyable book with many little surprising nuggets along the way to make it an interesting story!

Don't Sit Under a Cherry Tree

Because peach trees grow in Georgia. So does peach cobbler.
Geode and Trig meet because of Mary's wedding. Geo is an event planner, but she doesn't do weddings. The last wedding she planned was her own, and Mark was killed in combat less than a week before.
Geo emphatically does not like Trig. Trig emphatically does not like the idea of marriage. After all, the only example he has is that of his parents,,and it is an utter disaster.
But things have a way of changing.
Baker likes happy endings. She doesn't force them, though. She lets them flow naturally from what has gone before.
Recommended for all readers of clean billionaire romance.

Finding Cupid

This was a great story. Geodin was an events planner for large corporations and such. She and her friends were out one night. Mary was getting married, Paisley, and Trudy were trying to convince Geo to handle their wedding preparations. She finally considered meeting with Luke and Mary to see what’s they wanted. Luke offered her a large amount of money to do this for them and she just couldn’t turn them down. She met Luke’s best man, Trigg, and he was supposed to help her find locations for the wedding, etc. This gets really interesting. You will enjoy this story.

First, I listened to the audiobook and the narration team of Connor Crais & Jennifer Jill Araya were fantastic. I really enjoyed their reading and they completely elevated the story.

I liked the story of Geo and Trig. I found Geo a little difficult in the beginning and towards the end but I really liked how the author was upfront about the realistic communication issues (and the assignment of right and wrong) within relationship. Overall, it was a fun, sweet romance and it is always great to see prior (and future) characters that will play a role in this world. A clean, sweet romance with a fantastic narration team- definitely worth a listen!

Clean Romance That Pushes All The Buttons
This is a clean, 2 hanky romance that will make you smile and giggle and tear up and cry. While this shares some of the characters of the previous episode, it stands alone easily. This is a very believable story and not all of the emotion comes from the romance. I am saving this story to read again because it is just that good. While I received this book from a freebie site, it is well worth the basic price online. Now, I am off to read the next in the series!

Mending hearts

Trig was such h a sweet guy his parents marriage was so bad he decided marriage wasn't for him. Geo had her heart broken so badly she was determined to not only stay single but never date again. But they were instantly attracted and she couldn't resist Trigs determination to date her. Their adventures getting to know one another was fun but it fell a little flat for me.I think there were a lot of things going on and all happened too fast. I did enjoy reading it.

Geode (such a fun name and the reasoning behind it - she goes by Geo) is an event planner. She was asked to plan Mary and Luke's wedding (book 1). However, she never does wedding events until they offered her an outrageous amount of money. The last wedding she planned was her own when her fiancé Mark was killed in combat less than a week before the wedding. While planning the wedding she meets Trig and they spar back and forth a lot and eventually find their own HEA. Complete novel and no cliffhanger.

I love these books, I read the whole series in five days. The stories can be read out of order since they can seriously stand alone, but it’s more fun to get to know some of the other characters a little earlier than they appear in their own book. These books are clean and sweet which is what drew me to them, but they pulse with real world problems and experiences. Granted, not every girl could be a runway model, nor can every guy be a tech genius but even those people have real world problems now and again.

I really enjoyed this story about Geo, an event planner and Trigg, the best man at Mary & Luke's wedding. They were forced to work together to make the perfect wedding. However, Trigg was a flirt and Geo wasn't interested in dating at all. Their frequent meetings became the catalyst for a romance. I enjoyed the banter between the two of them, but they were opposite. She was a hard working professional and he was extremely wealthy. There were angst along the way to a perfect wedding because Geo had lots of admirers. It was a fast and fun read.

No. Just… no.
I tried, really I did. I even pushed through to 75% (how I did it remains a mystery… boredom? desperation? who knows…) but that proposal? I can’t.
Do you hear that? That’s the sound of my soul weeping.
Finding Cupid reads like an unedited first draft and I for one would like to know exactly where Cupid has gone because the chemistry here is flatter than expired soda pop.
Bottom line: It’s just not for me. Will it be for you? I highly doubt it but don’t let me stop you from giving it a try.
