Thadra has spent decades as the fey executioner. When the fey or their half-human offspring need to be punished, the human courts have no power, so the fey court must step in. If the court pronounces a death sentence, Thadra must go in and prove that the accused isn’t redeemable by letting them commit the predatory crime one more time. Dealing out death takes a toll, and when the fey court forcibly retires her, her marching orders include a trip to the Crossroads until she meets her match. Rik has been waiting for weeks at the Crossroads, and the moment he sees the fey woman radiating power and control, he knows that she is meant for him. He just has to convince her that a fey shark shifter is warmer blooded than their reputation would suggest.

Zenina Masters was born in Canada and lives in Canada. She has a regular job and does nothing particularly exciting with her life. She enjoys fishing, silence and the ability to pick and choose friends she can trust. Life is too short to watch your back all the time.

Her writing life is a teeny bit of escapism, she would probably chicken out if confronted by three naked men and looks forward to one day finding out.

I feel like the author wrapped up the ending a little too quickly - I was quite looking forward to seeing how it all worked out for them past the first 10 minutes of being home. Still a fun and unique story as always.

I devoured this sweet story and want more. This latest installment which can also be read as a standalone is all we receive in this series for a while. It appears Ms. Masters will be redesigning this lovely world which has exploded in grown from its very modest origins.

The ending to this "chapter" of the Crossroads is delightful. I love these little insights to the different shifters and fae in this world. The latest is Thadra. She has a job that is tough but sounds like it is right up my alley. That is until I learned the side effects of her job. Now I understand the dilemma and feel for her. Thadra and her dad are eccentric and have the life. Living in a chain of islands and basically having everything they need is fantastic.

Crossroads is successful again as Thadra finds the perfect mate. This quite exotic fey-shark shifter, Rik is awesome. The one thing I wish about these stories is to learn more about them. To have more layers to their life as well as learning more about their families. These tiny little morsels of sweet goodness is just not enough. I hope that in the next "arc" in the Crossroads will bring us more in the day in life of these characters. More than just finding the "one" and riding off into the sunset so quickly.

This paranormal romance is recommended to readers who like exotic shifter/feys with impressive powers.

An interesting world, with very fascinating characters, I’m just left a little cold by the romance, it was almost clinical and the sex without heat. It honestly felt more like two friends fulfilling a bodily function.

A Short Little Story

I love the way this author has of summing up a short story in such a way that I am not upset to finish reading it. Her stories all come to conclusion that is satisfying to all.

Another wonderful story.

Ms.Grace has scored again. Theadra and Rik add another brick in the crossroads tales. Can't wait for more, but I will try to wait patiently.

Crying Fire

Having waited for a while for this book, I feel it was worth the wait! A definitely different take on the executioner and her adventures. Sigh. Waiting for the next installment in this series. I will twiddle my thumbs.
