Rich and Famous Romance #2

Saved by the Movie Star

Rate this book
If only their chemistry turned off when the cameras did.

Veronica Pantoni was a rising young actress until rumors that she split up Hollywood's favorite couple went viral. How can she possibly act in another movie with Chris Sanderson when all the world thinks she's in love with him? Especially when she's trying not to be.

Chris Sanderson hated that Veronica was tangled up in his mess, but their chemistry was undeniable. Because he's a better actor when playing opposite her, he forced the director of his next film to play his love interest. Now he just has to remember his oath to never fall for another co-star, but that may prove impossible when holding her and kissing her are part of the script.

But love isn't the biggest danger they'll have to face.

This book proves to me that my skin isn't thick enough to be associated with Hollywood. Actress Veronica Pantoni is staying out of the public eye waiting for the rumors to die down that she's the reason Chris Sanderson and Kim Donnelly aka KIS broke up. She didn't have anything to do with it, but KIS fans don't seem to care about the truth. When Veronica's agent calls with news that she got the lead in a movie version of her favorite book she's beyond excited, but almost turns down the part when she learns Chris Sanderson will play her love interest in the movie. What's a girl to do?

Chris Sanderson may have fallen into acting but he's tired of being the buff and handsome "screen candy" and wants to become an actor that can be taken seriously. He feels that Veronica can help him do that--somehow when they perform together she brings out the best in him. The only problem is his recent decision to not get involved with a costar ever again, especially with the chemistry he and Veronica have on and off the set.

This couple really had chemistry--I mean smoking hot, holy moly, but this is a clean romance. I LOVED the scene with the box of doughnuts, but it made me want some Krispy Kreme (although the book doesn't mention a specific brand). The scene in the restaurant when the ex-girlfriend has a meltdown was funny--only because it backfired on the poor deluded girl and finally got the public to lay off of Veronica for their breakup.

I liked reading the parts about the movie being made--how many different shots they took of the scenes for closeups, etc. I'll definitely think about that the next time I see a movie. I also liked the suspense element to the story.

I received a copy from the author to review but after reading it I bought my own copy from Amazon. All thoughts and opinions are mine.

I am in a reading hiatus now because all I see is bad books being released. But one plot that is really annoying me is the “ too rich-too famous- too-too-too”. I’ve got enough of that in the grocery store check out line. 😁😄😄

Hollywood and its stars have always been so fascinating to me. I loved the vivid details surrounding the making of this film and the chemistry between the co-stars, Chris and Veronica, was off the charts. There are good parts to acting and bad parts and Veronica wants to focus on the good, but finds herself entangled in the bad in the midst of a very public breakup that honestly has nothing to do with her. But a new role lands her right in the arms (and heart) of Hollywood heartthrob (and part of the scandal equation), Chris Sanderson and it takes all of her willpower and acting skills to stay true to her craft.

The dashes of mystery and danger splashed throughout the story really added some flavor and made the romance that much better. I loved Veronica and wish I could really see her act in real life, especially as she brought out the best in Chris too. This movie sounds amazing--too bad it's not real.

I get why Chris and Veronica didn't want to give in to their chemistry, but wowza! It was sizzling hot (in a totally clean way) and set my heart aflame. I love the way this author brings her characters to life and sucks the reader right into the book. Great characters, great connections, and great story!

Content: mild, swoony romance; mild moments of danger/violence

Anybody looking for a sweet and swoony Valentine's day read, look no further because this one is it! If you're not looking for a Valentine's read but just a fun, witty book to read with plenty of charm, intrigue and some sweet chemistry, grab this one!

I had made it about 5 chapters into another book and this one showed up in my email. I snagged it, set the other book aside (not that I wasn't enjoying the other book but I was really in the mood for a light and happy read so I couldn't resist). I devoured it people! I didn't set it down. I read it super fast. I was a responsible adult and got all my chores done so I could read uninterrupted after kiddos were in bed. Hee Hee! No guilt.

I was seriously laughing and giggling out loud during some parts. My hubby kept looking at me funnily and shaking his head. I knew it was going to be a winner when I first opened it up, was turning the pages and I came to the dedication page. I giggled and told my hubby, you have to hear who she dedicated it to. What makes this story even better...he was watching Avengers:Infinity Wars. *giggling to self while typing this* Ok ladies and gents, the dedication is to: Hemsworth, Pratt, Evans and Pine. Yep, it really is! So can you see why I was giggling with what my hubby was watching and I was reading. Seriously loved it!

Chris and Veronica have some amazing chemistry. Which is good because well, they're movie stars filming as leads together. What's better than that? They're filming her favorite book of all time and she's the star! With her dream crush as her co-star.

Michelle Pennington can definitely write some fun stories. I've read a couple others by her and have a couple more waiting to be read on my kindle. I'm so tempted to set aside all other books until I've gone and devoured her other ones waiting for me. Every moment between these two characters was filled with so many emotions. Plenty of great wit and banter, some sadder emotions, fear, protection, attraction, sparks (ok I know that's not really an emotion but a descriptive word, but it works here), heart pounding emotions, love. Oh, yeah, the works!

Excuse me while I go reread some of my favorite scenes from this one again. I felt like I was really watching this movie while they were filming some of the scenes. If only it were a real movie, I'd definitely go watch it. Or maybe this book should be made into a movie....hmmmmm, I really like that idea!

There are some moments of peril and danger so don't let all the chemistry and swoon make you think this is just a sweet and clean love story. We get some action in the mix too and it was a great addition to the story.

Grab a copy and settle in for some fun. Just be warned that you might be laughing out loud like I was. I couldn't help myself. Veronica has got some sass to her (good fun sass) and Chris gives it right back to her. They're a fun couple to read about. Highly recommend this one for fans of Michelle Pennington or newbies to her writing. Snag a copy and enjoy!

Content: Clean. Some moments of peril but nothing graphic. Some kissing but nothing more than kissing. There is a "bedroom" scene but it's not what you think. Part of the filming of the movie. I'm not going to give any details but I will tell you that it isn't a sex scene.

I received a copy from the author. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

Happy Reading!!!

.......annnnnnd, ACTION!

The dedication page at the beginning got my attention immediately!!! How could it not? As this book is dedicated to Hemsworth, Evans, Pine and Pratt (some of my favorite superhero Chris Actors!) I was definitely excited, lol.

I really enjoyed the first book in this series, “Saved by the Rockstar”, and was thrilled to see there was another one. You don’t have to read them in order, but it was neat seeing the connection this one had to the other.

The two main characters had some fun bantering, many swoony moments, and an element of suspense/danger that I loved. Watching two professional actors play each other’s love interest on and off the screen was delightful and I couldn’t put it down.

The author has plans to write a third book in the series, and I can’t wait!!

This was a fun, sweet, clean read. When I was younger, I really wanted to become an actress so this was especially fun for me to read. It’s a light, quick, clean read. Recommended.

Saved by the Movie Star is a romance with a little extra--mystery and suspense. I liked the two main characters, Chris and Veronica, and wanted that HEA for them. The plot has some twists and moves at a quick pace. I would definitely read more from this author and recommend this book to clean and wholesome romance readers. I received an ARC. I chose to write a review and share my opinion of this engaging romance.

Veronica and Chris were both fun characters. Veronica has been cast in her dream role but she isn’t thrilled about who her costar is. Chris liked working with Veronica on his last movie. He makes sure she gets the lead role in his next movie. He knows with her and their on screen chemistry it will be a sensation. But he also knows that Veronica has got a bad rap. He and his girlfriend Kim broke up during his last movie and all their fans think that it was Veronica’s fault. The fans think that Chris and Veronica has an affair, even though that is far from the truth. Veronica takes the lead role in this next film but is determined to keep Chris at an arms distance even though she knows there is a big kiss scene in the movie. She is sure if she can protect herself and her heart from Chris that she can convince her fans that she is not the “home wrecker” they believe her to be.
This is a cute, clean, short afternoon read. And the chemistry between the characters is great.

Veronica and Chris ‘s love story
The book kept me up all night . I could not put it down . Michelle knows how to keep the reader flipping pages . The romance novel played out like a movie . The book has it all . Romance , drama , and suspense. There are even some scenes that made me laugh . The romance novel is a clean romance but the chemistry is there . Amazing how Michelle can make scenes in the book make the reader sense the fireworks between the characters . Great job ! Five stars ⭐️ ! Get a cup of coffee or hot tea because you will want to read the whole book in one night .

If you’re looking for a sweet romance with some suspense, then Saved by the Movie Star will hit the spot. Veronica and Chris were co-stars in Chain Reaction, along with Kim, the girlfriend of Chris. They break up and rumors start that Veronica is a home wrecker. There was no affair, but Veronica is still wary about co-starring with Chris in Portent. Grab your copy and see what happens on set and off.

Saved by the Movie Star was an exciting story. Veronica and Chris had real chemistry. Not only was this a sweet, clean romance, it also had intrigue when "accidents" began happening on the movie set. This story is well written and well paced. I started reading because I was taking a 30 minute break, but I could not put it down until I finished it! You do not want to miss this story.

The chemistry in this book is instant and doesn't stop. Veronica and Chris bring out the best in each other. I wasn't prepared for all the intrigue, but it added a good element to this story and brought them closer together. A great clean romance.

Totally romantic

Wow this was pretty hot. The movie star hero is awesome. I liked his character and the fact he acknowledged his flaws was pretty cool.

It was a pretty good story except it goes too fast. They declared love so quickly that it's ruined for me. The set and all the production was very well done. I felt it was pretty accurate. I just think there could of been much more relationship building and more story before. This seems contrived.

Cute ok read

Good characters, cute, good storyline. An easy entertaining read that requires little thought. You'll know what the problem will be, who the "bad guys" are right away so there's ready no suspense or trying to figure it out because it's just so obvious. That's the one thing I'd tell the author to work on. The first book in the series was good too but with the same problem. You know who the bad guy is going to be before really bad stuff even starts happening. Good story ideas, great characters, but they fall in love so very quickly and there is really no suspense at all. So, cute stories but I don't think I'll read the next. I just need a little more meat or depth in my stories.

I knew I’d like this book after I read the author’s dedication page. She wrote that it was dedicated to Hemsworth, Pratt, Evans, and Pine. :-) Too bad the Chris in this story is fictional because he definitely would have made this Chris list. ;-)

Anyway, I needed something light hearted and fun and this hit the spot. I already love books with a Hollywood actor involved but this one was slightly different because both Chris and Veronica were actors. Also, the book takes place during a movie they are filming so you kind of get two stories in one...their story and their movie story.

There’s lots of chemistry and even a little mystery, as well, as someone is trying to sabotage their movie.

All in all, it was a sweet and entertaining story with an ending that left me feeling happy.

This is a fun romance with some good kissing and a bit of suspense! It's well written and the storyline moves at a good pace. Veronica is an aspiring actress and Chris is an A-lister. They recently did a movie together during which time he broke up with his girlfriend and the tabloids blame her. She doesn't like the bad publicity, but her agent tries to keep her optimistic. Now she's in a new movie with Chris playing his love interest. Will she be able to keep her feelings under wrap? What about Chris when he kisses her on camera like that? Then there are threats and later sabotage by an unknown person to try and get Veronica out of the move. Read the story to find out what happens!

I received an eARC and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Actress, Veronica, lands the part of her dreams; a movie based on a book series she loves. There is only one problem, actor Chris Sanderson. Veronica was caught in the cross-hairs of Chris's crazy ex-girlfriend and has the media thinking she is the cause of their break up. Veronica didn't cause the break up, but the more time she spends acting with Chris the more she wonders if their on and off screen charisma may have been the cause. Add in the accidents that keep causing problems with filming and Veronica begins to wonder if she should take the risk to make the movie and love Chris, or runaway from it all!

Not my favorite of hers

I've loved all the other stuff by this author, but this one was a little disappointing. From the very beginning the story didn't feel like her others. It's like she's on a cliff deciding whether to keep it sweet or go more main stream and this was the first step to going down the other side. having said that,it is a clean read. it just has a different tone than her previous books. Only kissing. One swear word. A little mystery thrown in. I liked how down to earth the mcs were. Wouldn't read it again

I loved this book. I couldn't put it down. The plot was engaging and the mystery that brought Veronica and Chris together added to the story. I loved the chemistry that sparked off the pages. I liked that Veronica was an actress that had integrity and she was excellent at her job. Chris saw the value in Veronica and pursued her. I loved how the two interacted with one another. The way they tried to ignore their draw to each other was part of the charm of this book. I recommend this book to anyone that enjoys sweet clean romance and a little intrigue.

Cute and short. I love a good celebrity romance, and I thought the characters were sweet and likeable. They were extremely mature about problems that arose and always resolved them pretty quickly and without much drama, which was nice but it also felt a little anti climactic if that makes sense? I still loved the story! It could have easily been longer if the characters were developed a bit more and their relationship wasn’t so fast, it’s not as realistic for me. But a fun little book to read if you’re looking for something quick.

A rich and famous movie star...or two

The chemistry between Veronica and Chris is definitely swoon worthy. Who wouldn’t want to be saved by a Movie Star, especially if he’s rich and famous. The danger made the story even better. But without danger Victoria wouldn’t need to be saved.

Entertaining read from start to finish

This stand alone short novel was fun, romantic, and very entertaining. With a little intrigue thrown in, and just enough clues, if you pay attention, you can figure out the "who done it" with the characters.

Clean romance with at tingly new relationship nervousness built in.
I loved it.

Kisses only. This is a pretty quick read. The MCs worked together/were friends going into the book and a lot of their relationship is developed behind the scenes but it is still a believable relationship and progression from friends to more. I didn’t quite believe the villains motivation, kinda seemed like peeing in the pool if you ask me.

A great story

Romance, suspense, drama, jealousy. It's all here, wrapped around a large dose of creative writing. A great story that kept me up late in the night and back up early in the morning.
