The ultimate love letter to the world’s most magical plant—weed—from the rapper, chef, TV star, and bestselling author of F*ck, That’s Delicious. This is an exploration of every corner of the pot galaxy, from highly scientific botanical analyses and the study of pot’s medicinal benefits to a guide to the wild world of weed paraphernalia. It’s also a very personal tribute to a substance Bronson refers to as life changing, horizon-expanding, a conduit for happiness, a connector. Weed is to Action Bronson what the madeleine was to the door to true consciousness. Organized loosely as 100 entries, including thirty-five recipes, and packed with illustrations and photos, Stoned Beyond Belief is a trippy and munchie-filled experience as well as an entertainingly valuable resource for weed enthusiasts and scholars. Stoned Beyond Belief will delight Action Bronson fans and pot aficionados all across the universe.

Well, this was stupid. And I loved it so much. Basically a cookbook with comics and autobiographical anecdotes, a big coffee table book that is nothing less or nothing more than an ode to weed. And I have nothing wrong with it: I love getting high. It's right and natural and real and pure, unlike most of the substances out there. This was so stupid. So badly written. Yet still so very real. I maybe want this book on my shelf. Action Bronson is so silly and real and soooo lame but still feels like a friend.
I’ll be honest I more power skimmed than read in its entirety. It just felt hella self-indulgent and a lot of the longer written parts were boring. I liked the comics and the recipes seemed good.
TLDR; visually it’s nice and so are it’s recipes but the actual written pieces I can live without
Reading this book reminds me of so many different times I was stoned in so many circumstances, with people I enjoyed or didn't care about at all. It brought back memories of best and worst munchies, but also gave me inspiration for some more. And most definitely it will make you at least try to roll up the perfect blunt. Or joint. Or hit dab for the first time in your life. And eat.
Action Bronson's Stoner Cookbook cum Stoner Bible: Action Bronson. Stoner Food. Weed. New Age Hippie Stoner Grateful Dead Hotel California. Cheese. Lots of Cheese. New York. legendary hip-hop producer the Alchemist. Marijuana concentrates. Et Cetera...
At times topical and subjective but in a good way. Funny. Absolutely no mention of Doritos.
You can actually read this book cover-to-cover. Or you can just flip thru it. Or it can serve as a Coffee Table book that you roll a joint on. Or you can actually make some of the recipes in this book. Or it can be a key piece in the Action Bronson Lifestyle Brand. Or if you are a Stoner n00b this book could serve as a manual to the next level of Stonerdom. Also makes a great birthday or Christmas present.
Super funky and definitely interesting. You are not going to know more about the weed world but you will definitely to explore a little bit Action Bronson's personality.
As a surprise to some, the book mainly deals with anthropology. At first, we get a look into some insider's circles and funny origin stories of deviance, but as the book progresses there's a nice picture of growing up in New York, a reveal of the book's overarching theme - Bronson's youthful quest for cool, and all the trappings, intel, and family recipes associated. Wild. Dorian Green! Not Magic Dorian.
