Radically Me: Transforming Trauma to Create a Life You Love

Rate this book
Do you have memories of being abused as a child? Sexually, emotionally, or mentally? Did you have a parent who struggled with substance abuse? Did your parents divorce when you were a child? Was a family member incarcerated? Did you feel completely unloved and unsupported? These adverse childhood experiences leave deep wounds. The aftermath impacts survivors to varying degrees for the rest of their lives. It can show up as a feeling of unworthiness. Maybe, even decades later, you have low self-esteem or feel like a fraud. Maybe you sabotage your career or close relationships. You might cycle in and out of depression, or even have suicidal thoughts? Are you hyper-vigilant? Do you assume the worst about people? Do you find yourself in a pattern of unhealthy relationships? Are the patterns created in your childhood keeping you from living a fulfilling life? One of purpose and joy? Time alone cannot heal a traumatic childhood. It takes a strong commitment, focused effort, and the ability to leverage resources (information, friends, coaches, therapists, nature, etc.). Working on the mind alone cannot heal these deep wounds. Trauma can get trapped in the body and it is necessary to work with the body and the mind to heal. It is not an easy or quick journey, but it is so worthwhile. Radically Me!
