I was not aware that this book is really a textbook -- at the end of each chapter there are review questions, activities, key words, and resources listed. The layout is also a dead giveaway to this being a textbook, very dense, closely packed text, a lot of inserted "boxes" that are additional evidence of what is being discussed. The fact that is is a textbook is good and bad for anyone looking at this review.

The bad is that it is not comfortable to read. Textbook are layout horribly to save money not to be kind on the eyes. If you are unfamiliar with textbooks, you may be uncomfortable with how the text is written, it may feel repetitive. Already, it needs updating with the results of the 2020 elections.

The good is that everything is clearly and repeatedly stated. The idea is that the reader knows next to nothing, so you are led section by section, and chapter by chapter. The images and "boxes" do indeed add useful information.

I would recommend this for women studies and politics classes both.
