When evil wears the face of twins, and time is stolen through a kiss, who will be the victim, and who will walk away unscathed? They look like normal, wealthy twins with maybe a little too much time on their hands. But beneath their beautiful exteriors lives a darkness only restrained by complacence. The Hyde twins, Ren and Ward, have lived for thousands of years. Raised by an immortal being of true evil, they exist for one purpose - to steal time for their mentor. Traveling to Connecticut for a white Christmas, they hatch a plan to prey on the bored upper crust of society. Their game relies on self imposed rules, and turns both the good and the bad into victims. But have they grown too soft? Will the time they steal please their master? Or will their lives be at risk, too?

Ren and Ward, the Hyde twins, have lived for thousands of years. Sold by their mother to an evil immortal, Joffe, they were raised to serve him. More specifically to steal time for him. When Ren wants a white Christmas they travel to Connecticut for the Holidays. They decide to mix work with pleasure. Stealing time from their wealthy neighbors, they decide on a friendly competition. Rules in place they are ready to steal some time but when Joffe arrives he feels that his twins have gotten soft. Is he right? Will they be able to steal enough time to please him or is their time up?

I love the Hyde twins. They are the reason these novellas work. Their chemistry, the fine line they walk between good and evil, their mischievous natures all work together to create fantastic characters. Joffe is a menace whose lingering threat never quite disappears. The concept of stealing time and their removed hearts are interesting but their competitions are what I like. Such a twisted sibling rivalry!

I'm enjoying this new hyde vs hyde series. It's an interesting premise - the characters never really give a name to what they are, but they've got sort of a vampire-ish/grim reaper thing going on, sipping away at people's life spans. I appreciate the little sibling rivalry competitiveness thing they've got going on, though the set up for Mistidings seemed a bit overly complicated and unrealistic (does anyone actually decorate with mistletoe? And the chances of timing a single kiss to line up with getting caught *by the spouse*... like I said, overly complicated and unrealistic). But it was still a cute, quick story and the second book was even better. 3.5 stars. Check it out.
